Have now visited AOC several more times… they do fish VERYWELL. Anything we’ve tried has been above average. and friends and family we’ve at times brought along say the same. Yea. the space is a bit awkward, and the music sometimes blares a bit too loud… but what’s on the plate matters most… IMHO. PS… and hang onto your cc receipt… they do a free entrée if you visit again within 7 days.

More like a 3.5… Looking for a place to dance and have some drinks we hear the music from outside, some Latin, Hip Hop, techno, and yes, Salsa and Merengue. No cover, nice décor. You step inside and all lights are blue like water. One bar greets you, the second one to the other side of the dance floor. Dance floor is not that big but it wasn’t too crowded so we were able to dance comfortably. Even the DJ joined us for a couple of songs, showing off his salsa skills. Great set of songs that night, we danced to each one. Suggestion: target younger people. There were 60+ years old people trying to dance with 20something years old. Not right. Other than that, good place to stop by, dance, and have a good time.

4.5STARS So tonight I was dining alone and when I was standing at the hostess stand reading Unilocal and I saw a number of 1-star reviews and started to get cold feet… BUT I did not turn away, and I was well rewarded… Enjoyed the house ceviche & oysters and I had a delicious grouper. I would like to try the pompano OR yellow tail those were favorably reviewed. I’ll give you some few details because as I noticed the many 1-star reviews seemed content to pan this place without explaining why. Ceviche — presented nicely, a comfortable portion for one — enough for four people to taste and two to enjoy. Micro cilantro /tiny avocado slices /and a white fish. Fanny Bay Oysters — bigger than kumomoto, but still not overpowering — slightly saltier — for once mignonette was served with a spoon! Grouper Entrée — the fish was high quality, accompanying greens & half-dozen gnocchi complemented without excess. I will say I was unsure of how well the«chorizo» worked … Yum? Yes … But I think of chorizo as a crumbled grey treat … This stuff looked & tasted like pepperoni … These chewey half-moon meats tasted right but texturally distracted from the grouper. I love a lot of the food down here in Delray … It seems like«recovery» has actually taken hold filling the gaps in Atlantic Avenue’s retail spaces … like this glaring one. Great wine, really genuine and nice staff(a change from the typically entitled local scene).

I’ve passed by this place several times while on the Ave. However, I have been curious to check it out so I finally got the chance too. We all wanted to dance and we could hear the music from this place outside. Free entrance. No waiting line and not crowded. It is a bit small for a nightclub. They have two bars. They have a section where I am assuming they use as the VIP section on one side and on the top floor. The décor. is pretty cool. It kind of feels like a Miami nightclub but it’s in Delray. Kind of weird to see such a nice club in Delray. I think they need to target a younger crowd. Overall it is a fun place with great music but the crowd was older. I think if you are in town and want to have a good night out dancing with friends you should definitely check this place out. Also, drinks are not that expensive.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Located on the main strip, we had about an hour of time to have lunch before our appointment. We originally wanted to go to ‘The Office” but they were crowded and it looked like it may be awhile. So we decided to walk and see what other options were available. So pretty situated right on the corner, this place was so eye catching. Many tables outside, the inside was so modern and trendy with a pretty huge sparkly blue disco like looking ball lamp. Clean, modern, great curb appeal we decide to try it out. Ding dong, our loopy waitress brings the menu over, tells us about the lunch specials, brings us water and disappears. She finally comes back over to take our order and I really wanted a nice glass of wine. I see they have a nice Pinot Noir, my thoughts oh perfect as this is a seafood place so it will pair good with what I order. The bar was located right beside us inside and it was warm outside. I inquired if the wine was served at room temperature realizing if it was not properly stored I would get hot wine. Ding, dong here we go again. She said«Oh let me check». Vanishes again, comes back and tells me it is room temp. Fail, OK I get it but I was totally shocked that she nor anyone else offered to chill a glass behind the bar for me. Loss of revenue. Major fail. She just was like OK when I told her never mind. Very small limited menu for lunch I chose a Lobster salad, and hubby chose a salmon salad. $ 18, for a lunch salad. Wow, my thoughts were damn this is going to be one hell of a great salad. We wait, and wait, and wait. Our waitress leaves us sitting there in which seemed to be forever. Finally after 30 minutes hubby tracks another employee down, mind you there was only one other table in the entire restaurant. Five minutes later, our ding dong waitress comes over and tells us it is almost ready and they prepare the salmon fresh. Fresh, you mean first you go catch it, then cook it. Ten minutes after that we finally get our food. I get my lobster salad and hubby receives a piece of salmon. He tells the waitress this is not what he ordered, he ordered a salmon salad, and the ding dong just stands there like a deer never saying a word. OK, we are now in a rush, we just start digging in. Very nice presentation on the salad. I did ask the waitress for extra dressing in which I never received, because the ding dong forgot and never even acknowledged it. My salad for the price was small, little chinks of lobster that did not seem fresh at all and was way overcooked and very very chewy. Hubby’s salmon was bland, overcooked and boring. Bottom line, food took forever to come out, very expensive, dingy service, and just not good food at all. After tracking our waitress down yet again for our bill, it was $ 46 with no drinks. Seriously, I felt so ripped off, was hungry when I left because I did not eat much. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder at this place. Wow, so many great choices in the same area, major fail! Picture of my small salad above.

Beautiful décor, good food, small«nouveau cuisine» style portions. We went there over my birthday weekend at the beginning of February, and were able to get same-day reservations at 9:30pm. Though the food was excellent, it was ridiculously crowded in the restaurant and I felt a little embarrassed for all the folks standing at the bar, completely under dressed for the atmosphere. *Really, if the bouncers are wearing tuxes, put on something besides acid wash jeans and that tacky ombré-dyed oversized dolman-sleeve shirt– sequins do not universally make an outfit fancy.* The drinks were good, the appetizers and entrees came out fairly quickly, and it looks like the waitstaff were quickly adapting to their environs– the place had opened up less than a week ago at the time. I think I may have to try it again sometime when it’s not in the middle of snowbird season, as it may not be as horrendously crowded with the«must be seen» Boca folks. Tips: 1. Make a reservation; apparently you can do it from the internet/your mobile phone. 2. Dress up, no jeans, no casual stuff. This is a fancy grown-up place, so act like it. 3. Be aware that the portions are not going to be big like they are in a great many restaurants. If you can’t usually finish your entrée, you might be good with just the entrée, but I’d recommend ordering an entrée and an appetizer. 4. The crab claws are a rip-off. We saw some pass by, and their jumbo is the size of a baby’s fist at $ 21. Skip them and try something else, like the octopus, which is AWESOME. The carpaccio is also a foodgasm worthy of the cost. 5. Don’t go here with a group of more than four– the tables are mainly set for twosomes, threesomes, and foursomes. 6. Know what you want to drink if you’re at the bar– it’s small, crowded, and really only there for those waiting for tables. Go drinking somewhere else if you’re only there for cocktails.

I went there last night with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day dinner. We will never go back there and would not recommend this place to anyone. When we arrived we were seated in the last set of booths that is upstairs, next to the staircase. This is also right next to the bus boy station and the computer that the servers use. It’s a very busy area to say the least. The back of my booth kept getting bumped into and the entire table would shake. We ordered our drinks and asked for bread. We got 4 croutons! Now, it’s Valentine’s Day and I was trying to enjoy myself so I was ignoring the fact that we had a bad table and that I kept getting bumped into, and the whole croûton situation but the food was an absolute disgrace. My boyfriend ordered the Pompano fish dish which came out ice cold. It was supposed to be a big piece of fish in a tomato broth surrounded by mussels according to the servers explanation when we asked. What it actually was was a little piece of fish with 2 mussels. It was more like a snack then an entrée. I ordered the Linguine with clams, mussels and shrimp. The linguine came out extremely overcooked, the mussels were closed and the shrimp were blue, they were completely raw! I sent the dish back explaining this to our server.
At this point my boyfriend is just about done with his meal. I had to wait 10 minutes for another plate to come out and eat dinner alone. I told him not to wait for my dish since his was already cold to begin with. He didn’t care for his meal, he just ate it because he was so hungry. When the new plate finally arrived it was EXACTLY the same, except this time there was a piece of a Brillo scrub brush on one of the raw shrimps! Again, I sent it back. I had no desire to eat anything at this restaurant. Nothing was coming out properly. This restaurant is an absolute embarrassment. Plus, the managers that we did speak too, really didn’t seam to care. At 9pm on Valentine’s Day we had to find another place to eat dinner. The food is the downfall of this restaurant. I think this company focuses too much on décor, and not on the food at all.

This beautiful new restaurant on Atlantic Avenue by the railroad tracks was a disaster, and I would not recommend anyone going there for quite some time. Firstly, there was no bread, yes no bread. Their excuse was they did not have a bread warmer. The caesar salad was bland and was advertised with white anchovies. There were none. The menu offered raw cherrystone clams. They were brought to the table in an elaborate preparation, but they were not cherrystone. They were probably miniature little neck clams. They were sent back. All four guests ordered the salmon which was to be medium rare to rare. It came very rare. The vegetables were skimpy to say the least. In fact, none of us could find the potato purée. Atlantic Avenue has some of the best restaurants in all of Florida. This beautiful new restaurant will not be here in six months if it cannot get its act together. I have my doubts. No matter how beautiful a restaurant is, the food must be good to succeed.

Definitely some of the best seafood i have had in a long time, and the best crab cake hands down(almost no breading, all crab!), outstanding service, great location, décor. Everything we had, and we had a LOT of different items was superb, definitely a must on Atlantic ave and Delray overall!
