Everything about this place is perfect. As parents, do not bring your kids it is an adult restaurant. Limited fresh daily changing menu. Amazing

Jimmy’s Bistro is a fabulous find!!! Although small in size and menu selection, it certainly makes up for it in quality and service. A definite must in DelRay Beach, Florida!!!

This is a mid-meal review. I’m going to go ahead and agree with a few reviews I’ve seen about this place. Food I have found no complaints with yet. Service and length of time: absolutely fricking rediculous. I ordered my meal at 727 pm and it is currently 825 pm. I’m not normally a patient guy, so suffice to say, I am being wholeheartedly tested right now. The table next to me ordered 15 minutes after me, they r reaching into their pockets to pay the bill. The meal just came. Let’s see if I give one more star. Time to eat bugs bunny(rabbit dish).

Tiny, brilliant restaurant in Delray Beach. Food is mouthwateringly good. No written menu. Just a blackboard behind the bar. No superlatives do justice to the tomato soup covered with puff pastry or to the roast duck or everything else they serve for that matter. What a find!

Really disappointed. Duck which I’ve had before was dried out. Fish was fresh but not particularly delicious. Desserts consisted of two different fruit tart offerings. Looks like owners are concentrating on other things. Maybe their new restaurant planned for boca. Too expensive for such an uneven lackluster meal

I had an amazing time at Jimmy’s Bistro when I was in Delray Beach! The Tilefish and Conch Fritters were to die for ! Great food, service, and wine I will definitely be looking forward to the opening of Jimmy’s new restaurant.

My wife and I dined there last night. Everything was very, very good but two really stood out: conch fritters(best we’ve ever had) and a strawberry dessert in a balsamic reduction(heavenly). We both had the two fish specials of snapper and swordfish. It is rare for me to look at amend and state that I could easily order every entrée but that is true here. Also friendly place as Julie seems to know all the customers who are obviously regulars. They know what a great place this is.

If it weren’t for the pricing of this restaurant, I would give this a 5 star review. I had the local snapper and my husband had one of their chicken specials. I will say that our dinners were great. BUT, I think entrees all in the mid $ 20-$ 30 range is crazy. The wines are expensive as well as everything else on the menu. That said, the food and the service were excellent. I just wish the pricing was a bit lower so we could consider this more of a weekly stop instead of a splurge night out. The wine list was also WAY overpriced. $ 15 for a glass of Cab. Seriously?! Also, you can tell the restaurant is really trying to make its mark in Delray. One helpful thing would be to update your menu daily on Facebook or some webpage. It’s very difficult to get excited about dining out for these prices without knowing what is on the menu. Just a heads up to people who are reading a menu on line… THISISNOTTHEMENU… this is an old photo and I think the only thing on the menu that was also on their web page was the soup and the étouffée(which seems to have a different vegetable in it daily). Anyway, cute place and good food but not a great value. I’ve been in the food business a long time and I do know the food cost difficulties but I just don’t think 25 – 30 dollar entrees are a good value. It becomes difficult to spring for an appetizer and wine for this price point. Again… if all you are aiming for is the Atlantic Ave. crowd and the snowbirds, I guess they won’t know the difference but us locals could be coming in alllll year long.

We had dinner here on a Friday night with only 1 open table, it is a small casual place with the menu hand written on the wall behind the bar. Had the Ceviche which was very flavorful and seasoned perfectly. Our fish entrees were very fresh .The service was excellent. The homemade strawberry tart was probably one of the best desserts we have had in a long time. We loved this place. Will definitely be back. Really Amazing !!

Small, yet casual hidden gem located right off the ave. Staff is very attentive and knowledgable on the food they serve. We started our meal with the squash flower app, delray cerviche, and tomato and fresh mozzarella salad. All were prepared to order and you can sense the freshness of all the local seafood in the cerviche. The squash flower app was a little small, only 3 small flowers per order. The flavor was great though, stuffed with ricotta and lightly fried. It was a little surprising because everything else we ordered was generously portioned. For entrees we ordered the braised short rib and hangar steak. Both entrees were done great, but i do want to mention is the ginger marinade on the steak was incredible, well done. Dessert we shared the strawberry tart with balsamic sauce– simple and delicious, but once again done right. We will return again because I love that their menu is constantly changing to reflect seasonal specialties.

Our favorite restaurant in Delray. It’s a little hidden gem off the main drag of downtown Delray. The food is always so fresh and delicious. The seafood is local yet still reasonably priced. We always find ourselves begging friends to try this restaurant bc we want them to have the great experience we always have when we eat there! You won’t be disappointed!

I was here after Christmas with friends and family. My first time eating here. Reservations are a must. This place gets busy and packed. Like everyone said, it’s not a large space. They also seem to use a limited amt of ppl working the floor. I work in the industry and I didn’t particularly enjoy seeing the waiter busing tables putting fingers in dirty glasses, then setting tables and serving food without washing hands. I suggest hiring a busser and making sure hands are always clean. I’m admittedly kind of a germ a phobe. On to the food: they take great pride in serving tasty and well prepared and fresh food. Everything was delicious! The servers on the floor were swamped but were friendly and helpful when they were at our table. I will definitely return to this restaurant as the food is so good.

My fiancé and I have been wanting to try this place for 2 years. Every time we would walk over Jimmy’s was closed! Lol. we never called of course so eventually 2 years later we got wise and decided to call before we headed over. The woman suggested that we make a reservation and so we did. We arrived 15 minutes early and saw that 1 table was open, set for two… they were otherwise packed but ready for us which made me happy from the beginning. I had kind of hoped that we could just slide in at the bar but it was occupied by a young couple and also by a family with two or three small children(note to self, if you want to sit at the bar maybe call and ask for reservations at the bar? Not sure if they take reservations at the bar but it’s worth a shot) The bread was awesome, service was nice… my fiancé ordered the Shrimp Etoufe which he liked but wouldn’t order again. I ordered the duck and which was just amazing! This place is VERY small so call for a reservation. :)

I will start off by saying that this review is of the overall experience and not the food. The food was amazing, but the service was terrible. When you have to pour your own wine that tells you something. It took over 8 minutes to be seen, and the server rarely came back. Did I mention that we I was sitting at the bar with nobody else, and the server was nearby many times? I asked for additional bread to finish my dish, but after 23 minutes of waiting I asked the kitchen myself which they had instantly to hand me. I mentioned that I only had a short time to be there when I was first greeted, but then waited for the check as well as everything else. Again, the food was great, but the server didn’t even know what was in the dishes I asked about or the wine specials which ended up being white wine that wasn’t even chilled.

I am a 20 year local and this was my first time coming to this adorable little private restaurant off of the Avenue. Not sure if it was the owners who were helping me but there was only one waitress and one man floating around and they were both super accommodating and nice. Food was fantastic. lick the plate good… Zucchini florettes, haven’t seen that in a restaurant on the Avenue. ! Fun to pick off the chalkboard of fresh menu items… Luved my experience & will be back!!!

The food here is very tasty! It is one of our favorites in delray. My only complaint is that they do not have a full bar, but the food is always good!

My new favorite spot on the Ave. This place is so cozy and small but the food and service is great. We stopped by on a Thursday there was only one other couple there besides our group of 4. Our server brought us homemade bread– so soft and very warm. It is addicting. We noticed there are no menus. Instead it is written on a chalk board at the bar section. It is pretty big so you won’t have a problem seeing it. For started we ordered the Roasted Beet & Goat Cheese Salad. This comes with romaine lettuce and pickled onions. This by far is my favorite salad. The goat cheese was warm and the beet was delicious. For Entrée my friend recommended the Housemade Ravioli– she stated it was the best she had ever tried! Good thing I took her word for it! It was amazing. It was my first time having chicken ravioli. It also has mossarella, ricotta, and fresh tomato. The combination is the best. I could eat several bowls of this delicious entrée. I am not huge on dessert but good thing we saved room. We ordered the strawberry tart with fresh ice cream. It was the best. This place is hidden but definitely worth checking out. You will not be disappointed.

This is a nice intimate, off the Atlantic Avenue restaurant that serves high quality food. The only issue is that the prices are high and the servings are small. For example the shrimp ravioli was $ 14 and there was only three small servings about the size of a half dollar. They were excellent, but one person in my party of four got shafted as I for sure grabbed one. The dinner is written on the board and I had the short rib and it was also very good, but was only two small pieces. The deserts are only two options and the strawberry tart was to die for… seriously, I may come back just to get desert here as it was that good. The seating is tight here and the service seemed slow, but that did not detract from the experience as the food was excellent, just priced high for the location and size portions.
