I don’t remember ever leaving a bad review before but this one is well deserved. 1st I’ll say the food is good. I would give it 3.5−4 starts. The issue is the owner. He’s the biggest knob I have ever seen. Don’t get me wrong he wasn’t rude to me probably because I was lucky enough I didn’t have to deal with him but he was rude to every person he talked to including staff and customers. The place was hopping on a weekend night and this guy bitched at every customer who wasn’t young or hot. He yells and screams like a psycho person at customers and staff and all for no reason at all. He acted like he didn’t want to be there and everybody was bothering him. If he doesn’t wanna be there then LEAVE. Stop biting the hands that feed you! He embarrasses the customers on purpose and told one person to get out of HIS restaurant. He makes sure everybody in the store knows its HISRESTAURANT and HESTHEOWNER. I’ve never seen anybody so rude in my whole life. THEN there’s the women. He changes his attitude if it’s a pretty young woman. He tries to flirt and it’s embarrassing! These women are half his age and they look so grossed out. Picture this man who is probably 55 years old and really fat. Now picture him trying to flirt with a pretty woman then picture that about 10 times an hour. Sazio is decent food in a good spot but if this old fat guy is there then leave unless you like watching a train wreck because thats what he is with the yelling and trying to hit on every female in the joint. Diner beware.

I love this place, every time we come to Delray we eat here. The garlic bread is excellent, the staff is always efficient, and the pasta is great!

Not sure how this place has such good reviews. Family went there last night for dinner. Waiter was fine, but everything we ate was terrible(chicken parm, stuffed eggplant, pasta…) We all got sick afterwards, and I still have food poisoning today. Chicken had an off, rotten taste, eggplant was incredibly salty, and the pasta was undercooked and the sauce was just too strong and overwhelming. I hardly do reviews, but this is one place I suggest staying away from. We won’t be back. There are tons of better places on Atlantic.

OK it’s a busy time in Delray and restaurants are overly crowded. Although the waiter was very nice he was spread a little thin and we were at a table that was not in his direct attention, but he did give us his best effort. Now to matters of more importance, the food. The dishes we ordered were Pasta Pollo and Pasta Caprese. Both were very good and extremely filling. The pasta could use a bit more seasoning but it was ample and very good. A little long getting to the table but I will say it arrived hot(piping hot). Great place at a reasonable price. Definitely a do again which is good since we are in this area alot.

OMG good! We had our first yesterday, eggplant parm pizza, cave your head in delicious. Sauce was very flavorful, eggplant was nice and thin/breaded, and evenly dispersed across the pie. The dollops of ricotta and basil ribbons were a pleasant surprise. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because although the crust was thick enough to handle the toppings, I like the bottom of my crust cooked more well done so it «cracks» when you fold a slice. Will definitely return on a regular basis! Bravo!

Sazio is an interesting find on the Avenue. Truly a tale of 2 restaurants. Décor /Ambiance It’s a lot like those small family owned Italian joints that used to dot the east village back in the day. It’s not fancy, but the food is very good. My beef(pun intended) with the décor are the somewhat uncomfortable wrought iron chairs /tables that wobble unless you get them just right. In all fairness, our waitress got on all 4s to level it all out. Price Again, a tail of 2 restaurants — Their main plates are very reasonable when compared to other restaurants on the ave. Their main plate salads, which are exceptional… truly, are what I call expensive. On the other side, their wraps and pizzas are a great value. Service: Service here has always been somewhat spotty. Always seems to be a lot of turnover. Our waitress was cordial, but not affable. I got the feeling she didn’t really want to be there. To me, service is crucial to the experience, and is why they did not get that 5th star from me. Food: Good stuff… reallllllllllly good stuff. I’ve been coming here for years for their salads. They are an experience to be had. From the Tropical Breeze(Baby Greens, Dried Cranberries, Mandarin Oranges, Cashews and Grilled Chicken Tossed in a Honey Lime Vinaigrette) to my favorite Shrimp & Fig Salad(Baby Greens, Figs, Goat Cheese, Candied Walnuts and Apples Topped with 3 Jumbo Shrimp Tossed in a Fig Balsamic Vinegar & Olive Oil) you can’t go wrong. Last night I came in for dinner and had the Crab encrusted salmon. Impeccable from start to finish with a side of wilted spinach in olive oil and garlic AND smashed yukon gold potatoes. It was quite epic. Can’t vouch for the desserts, never made it that far because Sloans was calling my name. Overall a good night out as long as you don’t sit on those chairs for too long, you’ll need a chiropractor!

My favorite Italian restaurant… Not pretentious, just delicious, well-made, consistent meals. Great pizza, really great tortellini carbonara, Zappa di pesce, and nicely cooked fish are my favorites.

Went by there late Halloween night to get some slices of pizza for myself and other people in our group. The kid working the window had no sense about him at all. Wannabe arrogant«Brooklynite» but really a spoiled rich kid from Delray. Avoid this place like the plague or unless until they get some business sense about them. Ended up going to another, much better establishment.

So both the food and the service was superb. Well, I say the food because in truth I only ordered a salad because the escarole and beans was sold out for the evening. A little odd to be sold out at main dinner time but next time I’m in I’ll catch it. This restaurant is small but it has a good number of tables outside which is always great for watching people go by on Atlantic Ave. The hostess was terrific and kept my friend and I company chatting it up. The waitress was equally friendly and was right on time with filling water and making sure everything was good. I would love to see additional plant based items here so that I had more to eat but honestly the Seasonal Salad was just amazing along with incredible dressing. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back but they better have my escarole and beans next time. ;-)

Let me just start off saying… THEFOODISAMAZING! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, everything came out beyond fresh and steaming hot! Seasonings were different and unique! You would think with a start review like that, this place would have more stars? Yeah me too… My biggest complaint is how slow the service was. Waited about 39 for bruschetta and another app. And about 45 to an hour for our food. It was ridiculous. The waiter also took over 20 min just to bring us a beer. The restaurant was no longer then 10ft(sarcasm) but seriously, it wasn’t Busy either 4 – 5 tables max between 3 servers. The food came out steaming hot all 5 plates. So honestly idk what took forever. The bread — the bread the bread the bread!!! OMG this hidden secret they have. It’s amazing! And the red sauce ughh to die for. I’ve never had bread that fresh and hot in my life. Their red sauce has a very interesting texture to it but pairs excellent with the bread. Like I said I would totally give this place a 5 star for their food and their food alone. But the service literally murdered me with how slow it was. And probably is the reason I would return. Maybe if the sever was more attentive, that when our drinks were empty, he would actually refill them or maybe if he brought us a beer when we asked for another, then maybe JUST maybe the wait time for food would surpass all.

My new favorite restaurant! I had the penne alla vodka in a portion that was meant to be eaten for days. The price was very reasonable compared to the restaurants around it and the food was excellent! I enjoyed sitting on the patio and people watching while I ate my meal.

Surprisingly this place has great chicken parm. the pizza is ok. It’s a very small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is plain low key plastic-like chairs. Casual, good for families. They have a late night pizza window as well. I think it opens at 11pm. It’s $ 20 for a whole pizza or you can order by the slice. It’s also the only place open late at night. I would recommend this place for a quick dinner or a sunday night pizza. It’s not big enough for large parties or special occasions.

If you are looking for the worst Italian restaurant in Delray Beach, Sazio’s is the place to go! And when you visit, be sure to ask the server for a recommendation. Then, choose something different. Trust me on this one! We visited this pathetic little hole in the wall last night. On the server’s recommendation, two of us ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese, two others ordered the Tortellini Carbonara and one the Risotto. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was a dry, crusty casserole of elbow macaroni and dust. No lobster. Sent it back. On the server’s second recommendation, my entrée was replaced with Linguini and Clam Sauce. When I attempted to twirl a few noodles, the entire clump of pasty, rubbery pasta attached and sealed to the fork. All that was left in the bowl was a cup and a half of oil/margarine and garlic. The server asked if I was satisfied. I shook my head and said, «It’s disgusting!» He walked away. This«authentic» restaurant run by Brooklynites and Long Islanders serves Tri-color tortellini. Haven’t seen that on a menu since 1980. This concoction was topped with rancid bacon, jar Alfredo sauce and canned peas. The risotto? Rice-a-Roni and tomato paste. So if eating terrible Italian food followed by waking up reeling with stomach pains and a suspicious metallic taste in your mouth is on your Bucket List, give this joint a whirl!

Excellent service from Jeff! We started with a large plate of bread with a delicious sauce of olive oil, sun dried tomatoes, and oregano, and crab stuffed mushrooms. The bread was delicious! Next we had the tortellini carbonara, the lobster ravioli and the seafood risotto. The tortellini was my favorite. I would have preferred a creamier sauce on the lobster ravioli but my husband and daughter thought it was delicious the way it was. The portions are large so two people can share an entrée if you order an appetizer and you want dessert. They had no problems bringing me an extra plate so that I could taste everyone’s food and we still took home left overs!

Late afternoon Lunch. The overall presentation was fabulous and the steak and Brie sandwich was to die for. For the quality, the price was very affordable, undervalued in my opinion. The lobster bisque was elegant and tasteful. Id like to consider myself a lobster bisque connoisseur — so take my review for what it’s worth. A bit short on the salt side and while gourmet and definitely quality it wasn’t five star worthy, very trite for higher end restaurant bisque. My brothers salmon was tasteful but slightly over cooked. The salad and vinaigrette that came with it were lovely. Fantastic service.

I was out on the Ave for Halloween and hungry. I had never tried Sazio before and thought I’d check it out. We were able to sit outside and people watch, which was great. We ordered a bottle of wine and relaxed. At the waiter’s suggestion, I ordered the Farmhouse Pasta, which consisted of Sautéed Chicken, Broccoli, Sundried Tomatoes, Portabello Mushrooms and Goat Cheese in a Light Madeira Wine Sauce Tossed with Small Shells. Sounds delicious. It was just OK. It definitely needed more goat cheese(though I will admit that I’m a cheese fanatic). It was piping hot, which is a huge plus. There were large pieces of Portabellos, where were delicious. The sauce just didn’t quite do it for me. But I fared better than my date. He ordered the Grilled Skirt Steak, rare, which was served with Sauteed Tri-Color Peppers and Onions. He got it with mashed potatoes and green beans as well. Easy, right? They must have cooked his too fast because they were, apparently, waiting on my pasta. While my dish was nice and hot, his was cold to the touch. He gave me a bite, and there’s no way I would’ve eaten as much as he did. But he’s a trooper and powered through. I won’t write them off. My pasta was OK. And I know they have a pizza window, which reminds me of my college days. I’d give it another go, but I’ll give it some time. Three stars is probably generous.

My boyfriend and I just ate here for lunch. Everything was perfect. We ate outside on a beautiful sunny day. There’s seating inside and outside. This place has an extensive menu and my hardest decision of the day was deciding between a salad, wrap or pizza. I got the salmon artichoke wrap which came with a small side salad. The wrap was big and stuffed with a generous amount of salmon, artichokes and tomatoes. My boyfriend ordered the turkey melt which was also delicious and very filling. The pizzas and salads on the other tables looked awesome. If we were here for more than a few hours I would be back to try their salads and pizzas. Service was good and food came out pretty quick. Prices were reasonable considering the location, portion size and quality of the food. Our sandwiches ran about $ 13 to $ 14 each.
