A nice restaurant with a conventional coney style menu. The hubs and I each ordered an omelet and our food was exactly what we expected from a standard diner. Predictable. However, it is not a greasy spoon. It’s very clean and the food was fresh and not overloaded with oil and salt. Nothing exceptional but nothing disappointing. Service was okay.

I’ve been dining at Midtown Zefs for over a year now and it’s the cleanest Coney Island type restaurant I’ve been to. The waitresses are genuinely nice and treat all of their customers with respect unlike the one less than a mile down the road. I’ve never had any issues and it’s the only Coney Island restaurant in the area I choose to spend my money at outside of the one on Russell St. in Eastern Market.

I got eggs, toast, and sausage for breakfast one morning. The food was great. Service was pretty good, and the coffee was nice and hot. I’m definitely going to return.

Loved the eggs Benedict(sauce made here) and Greek skillet. No shortage of portion! Nice comfortable atmosphere w the Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid game burbling in the background. Price is lovely too. One star reduction for average coffee. Highly recommended… there’s great coffee across the street… maybe an outsource opportunity?

Food was exceptional, especially for the price. Definitely recommend the skillets and corn beef hash. Nice ambience. Can sit by the Windows and enjoy the view on Woodward. Will come back for sure.

I love this place! After a night out drinking, my friends and I found this place to eat a late breakfast. We each got an omelette and split a stack of banana pancakes. Possibly one of the best western omelettes I’ve ever had, but also… These pancakes. They were simply amazing! We have since gone back to have them again and we’re still awesome when not hungover. This place is nice, clean, very chill atmosphere, and we had some chats with the owners and they are just so nice. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some good food in midtown.

We just happened to see this place driving down the road and decided to try it. What a great experience! Breakfast served all day, so my son had the french toast and he gobbled it up. All of us enjoyed our food and the service was great too. We would definitely come back!

I ordered the veggie omelette and Texas French Toast, my wife ordered the Greek Skillet. Everything was Very Good. I ate most of my food and ended up finishing my wife’s skillet because it was So Good. The tzatziki sauce is one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend this place

Didn’t get a chance to eat there but on Unilocal it says they open at 7AM so I figured I’d try the place bc it has gotten great reviews. However, I get there at 7:30AM and the place is closed, I check the door and it says they open at 7AM. So I call and ask if they’re open to which I’m informed that they don’t open till 8AM. I then point out on the phone to the young gentleman that on Unilocal and their door it clearly says that they should be open, and maybe they should change this to avoid future complications. After explaining this to whoever opened this morning, I am called a «smartass». I’m a paying customer who has just walked a mile to eat some breakfast, and at this point am not happy, so me and the gentleman had some words. At one point I was called a low life along with some profanities. So I start heading back and on the way I’m called by the gentleman who opened today on Halloween and he tells me verbatim, «Hey lil b**** im going to open the door so why don’t you come back here you lil b****?» I swear on everything holy this is exactly what this man said to me. I was literally threatened to come back there so we could fight. I imagine Zeffs is a good restaurant but whoever opened this morning should not be in the service industry. Personally all I want is upper management to reach out to me. Sincerely, Concerned Customer

Speed: Walked to Zef’s for lunch from the DMC. We sat down and ordered. Less than 10 minutes later our food was already being served. Service: Waitresses were proactive with the drink orders and extremely helpful and friendly. Food: Good food, very tasty and a good variety. Overall, would definitely recommend.

Disclaimer: this is the first time I’ve given a 5 on Unilocal. Stopped by Zef’s for lunch(walked down a block from DMC). The place itself is decent sized, and very clean. The food(ordered the hamburger super melt, Wednesday’s special) and it was fantastic. Tastes fresh, was brought out immediately. The service here was impeccable… We were brought refills without even asking. Definitely will be coming again soon… Highly recommend.

What a great place for breakfast and lunch. Service is great, the staff is so nice and most importantly the food is good. It’s not over priced and you get good portion sizes. Located in midtown it’s a great location. My wife and I has eaten here several times and still keep goin back.

Relocated from NYC and am new to Midtown and stopped by to pick up a carry out order. This is my new go-to spot no questions asked. And, they deliver!!! Makes up for not having Seamless Web in Detroit yet for sure Portions are huge so heads up. Stop in for hungover breakfast or casual lunch. It’s a no brainer!

Get place to grab a quick bite in midtown. We usually go to Zef’s for lunch during the busy work days. The food is good and it is cheap. The staff is always nice and friendly.

Hi Unilocal.I visited Zef’s for breakfast today and it wasn’t bad but there wasn’t much about their ingredients or menu to help them stand out from your typical, run of the mill diner. If you like American comfort food, this may be your spot though. Zep’s is spotless, spacious and welcoming. Solid wait staff. The cooks made my order exactly as requested so I have no complaints really. The food is just simply average. The portions of my steak and eggs breakfast were outstanding and cooked well. While sizeable, the NY strip was laced with at least 35% fat. I wasn’t expecting filet mignon but meh, my pitbull got a hellafied lunch full of scraps. The cut itself was edible but towards the end I noticed a slight hint of expired meat taste. Not awful but not quite the finishing touch you’re looking for on your last bite or two. Eggs and rye toast perfect, hash browns elementary and yawn inducing. I’d visit again as they offer a respectable breakfast better than most coney’s but they could have set the bar a little higher for themselves with a more creative menu considering their prime location in Midtown. Either way, I’ll probably try one of their skillets or bagel sandwiches next time.

Good service, good food, cool building. We drove over from the Henry Ford Hospital for brunch. The coffee is excellent. I ordered Eggs Benedict… DELICIOUS! My lady had one of their hardy skillets, tasty and enough for two. Homemade bread as well. They have 2 TVs with sports on and the volume was low enough to keep nice conversation.

So they are on the same block as the Majestic on Woodward. They are expanding from the Eastern Market, into a part of the city that’s starting to turn around with Hop Cat opening almost across the block. This is a lunch and breakfast place, servicing the local hospitals, but they want to open 24×7. We went there for Noël Night, which they open to see what type of traffic they would see. There about 20 tables, smallish menu(which is fine), breakfast and sandwiches. Nothing fancy but good comfort food. Service is good and friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Food was good. Prices are good. Clean place. I hope they make it — its a nice building block for the area.
