Poorly managed, mediocre food. Badly understaffed, serving cold plates of eggs due to only having two servers for the entire restaurant during the morning rush. To top it all off, serving bland, shelf stable orange juice and didn’t have decaf coffee available. *Not* a good option if you actually have a flight to catch.

Ordered from the to go side. Specifically asked how long the sandwich would take and was told 5 mins. Took 20. Not a deal breaker for me personally but that could mess up someone on a tight schedule. Ordered the chicken sandwich, got to my gate, and realized it was the fish sandwich by taking a bite. At this point I didn’t have time to go all the way back to exchange for the correct sandwich. Luckily I like tilapia and am not allergic to it, otherwise I’d be boarding my flight hungry, or worse, experiencing an allergic reaction because it was impossible to tell it was fish until you ate it.

This place would be great if it were managed better. In here about once a week. Once I waited to be seated for 15 minutes it was 630am(they open at 600) no one acknowledged me. Finally I spoke up and they told me to sit anywhere. Once seated I waited another 10 minutes for a menu. I finally left, I was the only customer. Today it was better, I was seated right away and given a menu. I ordered the eggs Benedict, the egg whites are runny. I’m not writing this to be picky, but to point out the problems with the restaurant in hopes that they fix things. Otherwise the food is good and it has potential to be a great.

The glass of Côte du Rhone was okay, but not spectacular. The dressing, lettuce, and tuna in the salad Nicoise were lovely. I could have done with more potatoes and fewer anchovies. Points off for flavorless black olives instead of Nicoise olives.

This place had incompetent boobs as servers. They bearly speak the language and the service is slow and inept I can only imagine that the government is a party to this nonsense.

Stop by for a drink before heading home. Etaba was my bartender, she was friendly and made our quick stop fun.

1 Star for the friendly wait staff 0 Stars for the horrible tasting ham and cheese omelette… and I’m not sure how you can mess up such a simple and basic item… I guess lack of careful food storage and freshness checking.

So this place wasn’t too bad, even not considering it was in an airport I got crepes with fries. Crepes may have been just a tad thick, but pretty good. Fries were typical Resturant(potatoe…ie) Waitress and service was snappy and price was reasonable

Waited through the line only to be god it would be a 20 minute wait for even just a bagel. Not the convenience you need at an airport. I had to go someplace else.

I didn’t expect the onion soup to be SO good. But upon diving into this savory goodness, I had to Unilocal about it. I try French Onion soup any chance I get and all I can say is wow… This is such heavenly goodness

Typical airport food. At least they have slightly better than usual yogurts and some decent fruit, but the slow kitchen is definitely a drag.

I’ve stopped in a few times now while waiting to board a flight, always for lunch. Each time I’ve only ordered a salad and glass of wine while sitting at the bar. I’ve not experienced slow service at all. In fact each time, the bartender provided friendly, attentive service and I received my food quickly. Each time the bartender returned to ensure my meal was to my liking. As with any other stop in the airport, food and drink is quite overpriced. However, my salad was fresh, the chicken on top of it was nice and tender and the dressing was not overwhelming. I had no trouble finding a wine to accompany my meal. I enjoyed my brief visit and would stop here again since food options in Dulles can be somewhat lacking. The menu has a variety of options to include breakfast served all day. I can see how some of the meals might take longer to prepare. With airport dining I tend to be less adventurous — it is not fine dining after all. When I find something I like, I stick with it. Salad is my go-to option at Bistro Atelier.

I really like this place. Great big fresh salads, homemade soups and good service(at the bar at least). Just what I need before a 6 hour flight.

One of the worst Cobb salads I’ve ever had, chicken is pulverized into sawdust like shreds then dusted on top, literally looked like Parmesan cheese. Dressing in no way resembles blue cheese or jalapeño, and I’d on a bed of spring mix, cobbs should most if not all romaine, and to top it off the admittedly generous chunk of avocado is rock hard… Out of Hoegarden on an idle Thursday afternoon, was given skunky blue moon instead. Server was friendly enough, not enough to make up for inedible/drinkable meal, and a waste of almost $ 30

Wish I read the reviews before I ate here. You would think an airport restaurant would realize most folks eating there have a flight to catch, right? Food was mediocre to poor and honestly how can anyone mess up breakfast? The water tasted like sewer water smells. Eww… no matter how thirsty I was, I just couldn’t drink it. Just will have to wait for drinks on the flight. I had the misfortune to have chosen a seat by where the food gets put out to be taken to the tables. I saw my order, and waited patiently for my food to he delivered. After the third or fourth plate of food that came out after mine was delivered by the same guy, I finally said something to him. I won’t be going back. Bad service, poor food, icky water. I so wish I stopped somewhere else!

Had breakfast here with 3 friends. I recommend the place as I had good food and service on my previous visit. This time I had the misfortune to get the worse waiter I have ever come acrossI He was obnoxious, condescending and did not care about his job or customers. I guess because most passengers rarely return — who knows! The food was not good at all and it was a waste of money. To add insult to injury, I was told to go next door to another establishment to get a cover for a coffee cup he served me. The only time I notice he was excited about doing his job was to see how much of a tip he got! The only authentic thing about this place and a french bistro was the size of the tables and chairs! :(

The food was exquisitely lame. Not bad. Just lame. Beer — Yuengling — was okay. Service was rude and not very attentive. I wouldn’t come back with out an airline food voucher.

While waiting on an early evening flight and looking for a good beer and a light bite I happened upon Bistro Atelier I found a seat at the crowded bar. The staff tendering bar was more into playing grab-ass with each other than tendering to the customers not a good first impression. After finally getting a beer and watching the painfully slow food service from the kitchen I decided to pass on the food and cash out getting the check from the un-enthusiastic bar tender was equally as painful. This frequent flyer won’t be returning here anytime soon.

Stopped in here for a quick breakfast before boarding my flight to SFO. Ordered an Omelet — with spinach, mushrooms, onions, cheese… Asked for hot sauce, got Tabasco sauce — which is par for the course for most restaurants. Kind of a blah hot sauce in my opinion. The Omelet was rather average — nothing wrong with it. But some options to pump up the flavor would be nice(such as fresh garlic, hot peppers, herbs, etc.). The back area in which I was seated is a little cramped. They need to remove perhaps 2 – 3 of the small tables so there is a little more room in between the tables. I get that they are trying to service a lot of people — but some times you have to know where to draw the line! Service was good.

I’m not sure how long this place has been open, but it must’ve been fairly recently. During a big rush, there seemed to be staff running all over, but from all the other patrons near me it wasn’t a problem; accommodations were made and people were happy — so I’m guessing they have the potential to get these early operation kinks worked out. Good tap list for an airport bar(especially at Dulles), the onion soup was absolutely fantastic, and the burgers(while a bit steep in price) were deliciously crafted and prepared. There aren’t too many full dining options in Concourse D(and the rest are often deep-fried) so this one is going to be worth coming back to in the future.
