Being from Cleveland, naturally I am a fan of any Michael Symon restaurant. I view Bar Symon as a lite version of The B Spot, and it doesn’t disappoint. A more limited menu, but has the favorites. Good came out quickly and both the burger and fries were hot. Tasted fresh, not reheated. A good selection of local beers on tap. The bartender didn’t have the funky edge like they do at B Spot, but she was very personable and efficient. I strongly recommend stopping for a burger and a beer!

Ok it’s better than everything since a year ago at this airport.
A welcome addition to this airport hell. M. Symon brand more popular than McDonalds lately popping up everywhere for some reason. Airport: maybe 4, anywhere else 3, really maybe… Nothing special. Lola Ketchup completely sucks, luckily Heinz is hidden behind it. Patties are seriously good thick but my medium ordered temperature was in gray zone well done. Fries nothing special at ~$ 5.00 per. Good choice at this POS airport but otherwise probably not elsewhere

I was here for breakfast on a Sunday morning and I would go back to enjoy the biscuits and gravy over and over again whenever I’m at Dulles. Maybe it’s the addition of scallions topping off the sausage gravy on top of the very tasty biscuits… or maybe it’s the fact that the gravy has a spicy-hot kick to it that can only come from chili peppers… or it could be the perfectly cooked over-hard eggs and delicious slab smoky bacon served with the meal, but it was outstanding. I’ve always liked Chef Symon’s stated influences on his cuisine and some of them come together very nicely in the breakfast I had. It was a little early, but there were some nice local beers listed behind the bar including a Chesapeake pale ale. Dude next to me was like«IDGAF, I’m a have me a brew»! Sike! That was me!

Being in the Dulles terminal without a lot of options I decided to eat at Bar Symon. The restaurant is by famous chef Michael Symon. I did not have high hopes but I have to say I was 100% wrong. I ordered the Blue salad with chicken to go, around $ 18 including tax. Might sound like a lot but the salad is big and has tons of the normally costly fixings like bacon, avocados, and chicken. The vegetables were very fresh and the chicken was actually hot and moist. My only complaint is it isn’t fast but that wasn’t an issue because I had tons of time till my flight.

Usually your options in an airport for breakfast are somewhat limited. We happened by here by chance, not really knowing who Michael Symon was and not seeing his show. The host/hostess said the pancakes were good so we swung in. I had eggs w/cheese, home fries, bacon, and sausage gravy(I added a biscuit as well for like $ 1.99), and a coffee with Bailey’s. My wife had the pancakes and sausage. It was all delicious but the pancakes were especially amazing. I can’t place the«extra» ingredient that makes them stand out. Maybe vanilla extract or something similar. Either way, worth the money. I used to travel for a living and I’d say it was the best breakfast I’ve had in an airport. Bernice was also an amazing server and very friendly. She made great recommendations. If you’re at IAD stop here for breakfast.

Unilocal swayed me to try this place in the Dulles D concourse. So nice that the sandwiches here include real turkey instead of the usual overly-salty processed junk. My only issue is the serious amount of BUTTER that they put on the grilled bread. My overall sandwich was extremely greasy because of the heavy handed spreadage! Next time, I would ask for the bread to be toasted dry. Takeaway service is extremely fast and served with a smile, if you’re rushing to get food before a connecting flight.

The steady uphill climb of airplane food is wonderful and bar symon is a perfect example of this phenomenon. I came in while waiting on a delayed flight and was treated to excellent service, an amazing bacon cheeseburger, and a lot of fun with trying different ketchups(in reality I didn’t find any of the ketchups very good but regardless had fun with them!). There’s also a great beer so you can enjoy an amazing, thick, juicy, well-spiced burger and a perfectly matched beer to go with it. The Rosemary Parmesan fries are also good but I wish they were a little greaser because the Rosemary and parm don’t actually stick to the fries at all! The flavors are great but the fries are dry. Also, the service is awesome — I walked in and immediately had to take a phone call but my waitress(Lena?) put up with this rudeness and still brought me beer and water while I dealt with airline crap on the phone. Altogether an awesome experience. Almost looking forward to the next time my flight is delayed so I can chill here.

Bar Symon makes eating at Airports a joyful experience. It was 6:30 am and I was eyeing their Crafted Beer list. I almost wanted to order a stout to go with my Breakfast Sandwich($ 9.49). Freshly made Sandwich was so good. Love the buttered toasted bun. One of the best breakfasts I had at an Airport without costing an arm and a leg. Make sure you sit at the bar! Bernice is for sure will cheer up your day with her fast and friendly service and witty comments. I might just try to route through IAD next time just to eat here! Thanks Michael Symon for opening up Bar Symon to make layover at Airport a less dreadful experience!

Wow, super impressed! One of the best meals I have ever had in an airport. Ordered the Lola with a side of Rosemary fries for lunch which was such a great choice. The Lola burger is pretty much a slightly pink in the middle patty, with bacon, and a over easy egg on top surrounded by a delicious bun. The combination is very simple but the quality of the ingredients is what made the burger so good. If you have a long wait and want to pick up a bite to eat I would highly suggest stopping by at Bar Symon.

Amazing burger joint in terminal d at iad. Get the Fat doug burger which has bacon, pastrami, cole slaw stacked on top of a well cooked burger and served on a soft challah roll. Pair it with some fries and a beer and you’ve killed your layover. Just don’t get carried away and miss your boarding! I would highly recommend bar Simon for a bite while at iad

I’ll start by saying this was one of the better breakfast I’ve had from an airport in quite a while… and the fact that I was welcomed with a beer menu for breakfast really gives this place a two thumb up from me LOL. I’ve been on an Iron Chef restaurant hunt lately so quite naturally I was going to stop in before my flight after hearing it was Iron Chef Michael Symon’s Bar. I was bummed that it was only breakfast being served at the time due to hearing the Lola burger is awesome but nevertheless the pulled pork breakfast burrito was going to have to do. I’m not that big on breakfast burritos but this was pretty good. The pulled pork did it… flavorful and not shy on the portion of meat. The hot sauce gave the burrito an extra kick and the Lola ketchup was delicious on top of the potatoes. While I ate, I also chatted with two of the bartenders behind the counter who were friendly and provided great service. This is a cool bar/restaurant to stop by if you’re in the Dulles International Airport. Its most definitely a better choice amongst the restaurants within the airport as far as breakfast is concerned. This is located in Terminal D so stop by if you can. Breakfast 6÷14÷2015

The never ending quest for good airport food prompted me to try this new place. It started out well– they make their martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives. Now we’re talking! Burgers are not frozen and consist of ground sirloin, ground chuck, and ground brisket. Yes there are cheaper burger options at the airport, but not this quality. Plus they have a full bar and if you are delayed 3.5 hours you need that! The Lola burger with the egg was amazing and I would get it again. I ordered it with lettuce to combat any guilt. The fries looked good but I didn’t try them this time. Everyone is so nice and if not busy, they check your gate status if you are still eating! There are USD ports under the bar to charge your phone. This is a civilized oasis at Dulles and I will be back. Many times!
