Had the BBQ chicken sandwich– VERYDRY Garlic fries were loaded with jar garlic which made them soggy. This store does not live up to the brand standard that I’m used to. Won’t be back

Bleck! We were so excited when we saw a Gordon Biersch during our recent trip through Dulles. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible. The menu is tiny with nothing more interesting than burgers and salads. The below average food is nothing like«real» GB restaurants and not at all worth the ridiculously high prices. Finally, the service was abysmal. Avoid this place!

$ 8 for a beer? $ 14 for a ½ pound hamburger that looks suspiciously like every other quarter pound burger I’ve ever eaten? Uh, expected to be price-gouged here. VERY disappointing. Makes me want to boycott Gordon Biersch period. When we ate there(since we’ve both had good experiences at the other GBs in the SF Bay Area) it was very crowded and we were VERY disappointed. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, but the food was not meh, more like blegggh! Crowded, greasy tables, squashed together like sardines. They had only TWO beers available and we left feeling pissed off. Avoid if you can.

Please understand that this is an airport restaurant, so you’re not getting the full blown GB experience. I had a burger for dinner once and today, I had a simple breakfast. Quick, simple and fast. I just wish they served garlic hash brown to complement their garlic fries.

I loved the crab cake and french fries. It was supposed to be a sandwich, but I had it without the bun. I was told by my wait staff that they were out of bottle beers and i had to chose one of the draft beers. No sooner than I was served and drinking my draft did I see another of the staff deliver up a bottle of beer to a fellow diner! I was also rushed out as soon as my meal was finished. I spent $ 50 for a single lunch and felt I should at least be able to spend half an hour at the table! The food was great, but the rest was not

I was subjected to Gordon Biersch at Dulles the other evening when my flight was delayed, I was starving, and it was the only restaurant in my vicinity. Though my waitress was nice and friendly, she brought me a bud lite when I asked for a class of red wine. The crabc ake was okay but the lobster bisque was horrible and so heavy, I felt sick just eating it. They are also lacking in the dessert department(what restaurant doesn’t have ice cream?) and they were out of 1 of the 2 desserts they offer. Definitely do not recommend having a meal here… a few drinks is fine.

Great place for beer and fastfood. ESPN is on and it is a good spot to hang for a hour before your flight. Try the Märzen, it is great!!!

Horrible service(we were sitting there for a while while one waitress just stood at the counter with some serious stinkface. while her co worker did all the work), not a fan of the breaded wings either. Go the the Firkin and Fox further along the terminal instead. Better prices, food, and service.

Gordon Biersch is an American brewery pub based on German Brewing techniques. Besides their Micro Brew restaurants, they have established presence at airports too, as they all expand to add eateries as airlines continue to eliminate meals on flights. You can find GBs at SFO, SJC, LAX, IAD, DCA and RDU. Known for their burgers and garlic fries, along with their brews. Here they offer Czech Pilsner, Hefeweizen, Marzen and a seasonal brew. It is airport food, so expect high prices, poor service, and stressed out diners. I got none of that except for the high prices. But I did get garlic and beer breath.

Surly servers, overpriced food, a crowded atmosphere and plastic plates? Not my idea of a great dining experience. While my waitress was ok, all the others had scowls and slouched around the place. Uninviting. I ordered a cup of tomato soup and a chicken Caesar salad. The soup was the highlight of the meal, with rustic pieces of onion and celery adding texture. It had a nice flavor as well. Too bad the same can’t be said for the chicken — that was dry and bland. No way that was a $ 14 salad.

I’ve learned as a general rule, it’s never a good sign when a menu is full of big beautiful pictures of what the food items are suppose to look like. I wish I had thought to take a picture from the menu cover of the meaty and tasty looking crab cakes, with purple cabbage, celery and carrots. Because the actual crab cakes that I got looked nothing like that beautiful dream. [See picture of actual crab cakes]. They looked pathetic and were a mushy texture, fishy taste, and the only accompaniment was whiteish cabbage and a mayo-mustard«sauce». When I commented on this to the server he stated, «yeah of been telling them the picture doesn’t match and they should fix that.» Indeed. Good thing they have generous sized pints of beer. You’ll need one to wash down the food.

Expensive, average food. Actually that’s charitable. Wings heavily breaded and overcooked, pulled pork not too bad, lobster bisque ok. Ice tea –lousy. Okay, I know, it’s in an AIRPORT but still, it shouldn’t suck.

Breakfast here ends at 10:30, which is a shame because I came at 10:50 really wanting an omelette, and picked GB over nearby other options because of that. They should have a sign. Anyway, I like normal Gordon Biersch, but at this one I don’t think the food stood up to the quality. I got the Hefeweizen beer and a pulled pork sandwich with garlic fries. I have never had a pulled pork sandwich with so much bbq sauce in my life — the sauce practically took up more volume than the pork itself! It made it extra unpleasant to eat because applying any kind of pressure to the sandwich with fingers(aka picking it up in order to eat it) results in bbq glop spilling/squirting out everywhere. Not only was it difficult to eat but the bbq sauce overwhelmed everything else in the sandwich — just waaay too much. I have had much better pulled pork sandwiches elsewhere. Then the garlic fries — I love the garlic fries at GB in DC, but these garlic fries were sloppily done. It is basically just fries with a heap of minced garlic poured over the top. I love garlic flavor but it is not pleasant and waay too overwhelming in flavor to just eat fries with a pile of minced garlic on it. Again, it took a lot of effort to eat this food because I had to wipe and shake the garlic off the fries in order to make them edible. The good: I enjoyed my beer, the server lady was kind of quirky and really friendly, they had a nice bar area with 2 TVs — one with news and one with sports — perfect. I just was really bothered by the food. And they didn’t have a stout or porter available when I was there, which is what I really wanted. So for me, this is a skip it.

We typically arrive early to the airport to allow time for security. When we got to our gate, we realized we had plenty of time for breakfast before boarding our plane to Austin. There are not too many options for a sit down breakfast so Gordon Biersch it was. We sat at the bar and were promptly offered bloody mary’s by a friendly, but somewhat rough around the edges bartender. She promised they would be good, and they were good, even slightly spicy. She recommended the steak and eggs for breakfast so we went with it. The steak wasn’t the best quality, but it was prepared to order and flavorful. The eggs were cooked to my liking. This breakfast came with a choice of sliced tomatoes or hash browns. I was glad I chose the tomatoes although my husband said the potatoes were ok. It was just a HUGE portion. It was also served with a whole grain toast that I particularly enjoyed. I’m not a fan of white bread. The bartender was a hoot and really kept the other servers on their toes. Entertainment, drinks and breakfast before our flight — what more could we ask for. The bloody marys certainly dulled the pain of watching the dad in the seat across the aisle offer his toddler 20+ lollipops throughout the flight to try to get her to behave. This outstanding display of parenting was obviously unsuccessful. I shudder to think of what he’ll have to offer her once she gets to be a tween.

Arriving at Washington Dulles International Airport airport early for our late afternoon flight on United Airlines, my wife and I wanted to have a meal before our flight. We had plenty of time when we reached the gate, more than two hours, so looked for a place at the Midfield Terminal C/D. A bit of a walk through Concourse D found us at Gordon Biersch. A good choice we thought, and it was. We both ordered the Kobe Cheeseburger. Had to have a burger, even with good food to look forward to! The airport location offers many of the same items as the regular restaurants, but the menu is smaller. Seating is compact, too. People kept bumping into us with their carry-ons and shifting in their chairs. Service was prompt but it was crowded for the servers, too. Still a good choice for a preflght meal.

Airport restaurant. Don’t expect much. Of course, with this being an airport location, there’s no beers brewed on site, but the beers we did order was pretty good off the draft. I’ve always been partial to GB’s hef so that’s what I got this time. All beers come in that big pint size. Since we had time to kill, decided to get food and got the BBQ Marzen Chicken Sandwich. That chicken sandwich was definitely one of the driest chicken I’ve had. I had to request extra BBQ sauce twice just to help me swallow it. The sauce is good though. I was sorta looking forward to the fries, but the garlic fries were whatevers too. It was pretty much the cooks piling the fries, then they ladle the garlic oil and garlic over it. Completely different fries from the restaurants or from the ball parks. Big disappointment. Price-wise, I did expect it to be costly since it was the airport location, and it sure was. Over $ 40 for two people. The place is also quite small, and they jam a lot of tables in there. I had a tough time moving around the tables and all the luggages just to get to our table. The waitresses there were all fairly petite, so I’m guessing it must be a job requirement for this GB: P It is a place to sit and grab a drink, but I did find out there is a bigger bar & grill in the same terminal so for sure that place next time.

To start with, this is a restaurant located in an airport terminal. Come on– cut this place a bit of slack.(And no, it’s not anything like the food pavilion located at terminal 3 in SFO.) Had a chicken ceaser salad that was ok. They have some decent beers on tap(would have loved one but was pressed for time). Service was quick and friendly. Just what you need when you’re starving and about to make a flight connection.

We were here for a layover on our way to Miami. I saw Gordon Biersch and was instantly reminded of their delicious garlic fries. We were seated immediately, so I thought service here was going to be prompt. We were seated in a really cramped space next to a bunch of other tables. In order for me to get into the booth seating, they had to pull our table out… it was pretty ridiculous. Once we were seated, our waitress came over and took our drink orders. My friend ordered a mushroom burger, and I was just going to share it with him. Once I mentioned that we were sharing(I was not hungry at all. I just wanted my garlic fries!), she gave me a look of disgust and walked away dismissively. When she came back with my friend’s drink, I decided to order a clam chowder and then she became a bit friendlier… just because I ordered something… It doesn’t end there. We waited for approximately 20 minutes to get our mushroom burger. There was no way it took that long to make a mushroom burger. no way. So we asked our waitress, and she had this confused look on her face. She scurried away to the kitchen, and we figured that she probably forgot our order. After another 10 minutes, our food finally came out but it was a regular cheeseburger.(What the $%^&?!) We’ve been waiting this whole time for her to forget our food and then get our order wrong. Wow… Thank God we were here for a 3 hour layover! We probably would’ve missed our flight otherwise! Not happy with this place at all.

This is an airport restaurant so I already had low expectations. When I sat down near the middle of the restaurant, it smelled like I was sitting by a trash can even though I couldn’t locate it. Eventually, though, the person next to me got some garlic fries so that’s all I could smell the rest of the time. After looking over the menu, I decided on the Cashew Chicken Salad(chicken, goat cheese, artichoke hearts, cashews, vinaigrette) and a cup of White Clam Chowder. * Clam Chowder: runny/watery and lacking in clams and potatos. I literally found 3 tiny pieces of clams and that’s it. I then proceeded to crumble up all three packets of crackers to add some substance to make my soup slightly more chowder-like. * Cashew Chicken Salad: 90% lettuce, chicken is flavorless and super duper dry(probably driest chicken i’ve ever tasted in my life actually), goat cheese is soft and mild(nice on crackers maybe but terrible on an already flavorless salad), flavorless cashews(not sure how that’s possible), and tiny cup of vinaigrette dressing. Total after tip = $ 20! I really wished I had just gotten my usual Starbucks coffee and waited on getting food. I could have also just as easily gotten a salad or parfait or cookie from any of the food stands for a fraction of the price and enjoyed it 10 times more. Oh well, lesson learned.

It’s near the gate D12. If you know this, you don’t have to walk the C or D concourses up and down! I ate GB in Pasadena before. They have good beers, of course. I had a bowl of clam chowder and garlic fries. S had cheese burger. My chowder seemed, waiter was too busy, so he missed to bring to the table right away, meaning was warm, not hot. Garlic fries smelled and tasted very good. The place was packed. We had to wait at the uncleaned table. One waiter was working alone. He cleans the table, gets the orders, brings the foods and gets the check! Good thing we didn’t miss our flight!
