Brewpub. And by that I mean everything they make is not working. Staff has no idea how to fix it. So a brewpub with ShockTop, Stella and Sam Adams. I ordered a Shock Top. Warmer than room temperature. Now onto food. Everything I asked for, at 7pm on a Wednesday was out. Bbq sandwich. Out. Caprese sandwich. Out of tomatoes. Club Sandwich. No bacon. Two stars only because they didn’t charge me for the piss warm beer. WTF Dulles, is every restaurant at your airport jacked? It is the damned Imperial Capital, not Casper, Wyoming. I can say that because the bar at the Casper airport is better than anything I found here.

Beer was good, but the food menu did not appeal to me. For a so called«brewing company» they had a total of 6 beers on tap. I mean I understand that it’s an airport, but c’mon have at least more than bud light, sam Adams, shock top and a few other decent beers… which they happened to be out of. The server didn’t even know what was on tap, she has to look over at the bar and see what was actually on the tap. Oh well, beer is beer and when your flying I guess your choices are limited.

Wait staff was very attentive and personable. Lots of large fruit flies and a lot of dust on the wall rail has me concerned about cleanliness. The hair in my food confirmed sub-par food preparation standards and cleanliness all around. Beer was good. Food was ok for airport food. I won’t come back.

My wife and I were heading out on a red eye for a long over due and much deserved vacation. We were early enough to the airport to get a late dinner and have a few beers. We decided to relax at the bar at the ODBC, we like the beer so what could be better. As soon as we sat down, the bartender in broken English stated something several times we could not understand, but eventually we got it. The kitchen is closed and we can not order food. That’s fair it was late and we were not that hungry. So we ordered beer. I don’t recall which brew I ordered, but the tap was dry. Fair enough its late in the day. My wife ordered a beer and I made a second choice. The bartender just brought us the same two beers but we didn’t order the same thing. A few minutes later another couple came in and they ordered beers. The same beer they told me was out. I watched her work that tap(the one she said was dry) and bring them their beers. I don’t know if she bartender was incompetent or didn’t want to serve us or what. It is not like you have a lot of options at IAD or that the bar can even have regulars. I just felt this was about the poorest service we could have and was really disappointed by it.

My husband and I stopped in for a quick drink before our flight. There were two female bartenders. The first words out of our bartender’s mouth were«the kitchen is closed». She seemed disappointed that we didn’t just leave. Neither spoke very good English or seemed to understand what we were asking. They told me one beer was out, but then served it to another patron. My husband ordered a different beer than me, but they poured him the same beer I had. One of the bartenders knocked several glasses onto the floor. They left the broken glass all over the floor behind the bar for at least 15 minutes before they halfheartedly pushed it over to the side with a mop(but didn’t actually clean any of it up). A customer asked them to put on the caps game and they immediately said that they didn’t get that channel(he didn’t say what channel) without bothering to check. They mostly just chatted with each other and ignored the customers. The only nice thing I can say about the experience is that they did tell us when it was last call. Otherwise it was a dismal experience, even for an airport bar.

Nachos were marginal. They used velveeta-like cheese(only less tasty than actual velveet) and what looks like chili from a can. It did come with pickled jalapeño peppers which were good but not spicy. The IPA is just all right. Chardonnay was fine. Service was good, bartenders are nice and attentive. What do you expect in Terminal A(it’s not like Terminal B or anything).

You’re in the A wing of the Dulles airport, and you’re hungry. What do you do? This is an option. I got a pulled bbq beef sandwich. I suspect they just scooped some meat out of a foodservice tub, microwaved it, and threw it on a bun. It wasn’t terrible, but it had a processed bbq flavor that screams pre-prepared. The salad was mostly white iceburg lettuce, topped with some finely-machine-diced tomato and onion. There was a little bit of poor coleslaw to the side. Overall, I wasn’t impressed at all. But it seemed like one of the least-offensive options in this part of the airport. Plus I’m not hungry after having eaten the food, so that’s a plus.

I didnt need food, but I had to write a review for the service! The beer selection was just fine(I drank guest beer(s) because I prefer IPAs), but I was so impressed that the bartender took my order(and those around me!) as soon as I walked in because the servers were busy, and then the servers continued to check on me. They all had SUCH pleasant expressions on their faces and genuinely seemed to like each other, which really made it an enjoyable place to kill an hour. I walked all the way here from the opposite end of the B terminal and it was totally worth it :)

Despite the good reviews for this place, especially on the service, I found myself waiting 10 minutes at the bar before even being asked what I wanted to order. Then when my order was taken(just a pint of ale, no food) I was forgotten about for another 15 minutes. The bartender apologized and gave me a 20oz ale for the price of just a pint, but I expected better service than this after reading the other reviews. I didn’t knock down the stars too much given how the situation was handled afterwards, and because the beer was good. The Old Dominion Ale is advertised on the tap handle as being«English Style» and I think it would please an Englishman. I’ve been living in England for the last 2 and a half years and this beer is definitely English style, though not a traditional cask ale. But you’ll never find a true cask ale in the States, so you can’t hold that against them! Didn’t get a chance to try the much praised stout, unfortunately; maybe next time. No half pints or flights available, but again, that’s wishful thinking in the States, and especially at an airport location.

While the beer is fine, avoid the food… It tastes straight out of the can or freezer, and an embarrassment to the Old Dominion Brewhouse name.

Purely for being a place to grab a decent pint of beer in the airport, this place doesn’t disappoint. It’s pricier than you’d like and I didn’t try the food, but all-in-all it’s a better than average place to grab a pint while you wait for a plane. The oak barrel stout in particular is really yummy.

I remember I was at Old Dominion with my wife. we both were tired and stressed out of packing and all… We had 40 minute wait before check in so we decided to have couple of beers at old dominion. It was a good decision :) Agree with an earlier reviewer that this is a great place to get a beer :). My favorite is dominion lager. Best place to kill your time ans start your trip.

Agree with an earlier reviewer that this is a great place to get a beer. They have some great choices on tap, and their stout is my favorite. For the beer alone this would be 5 star. The service was awful. I also concur with an earlier reviewer that because people have flights to catch this is a big problem. I had a very hard time getting the waitresses attention, particularly when it was time to get the check. I flagged her down and asked for it and then she forgot and I had to flag her down again. And then it took an exceptionally long time to process my credit card for some reason. The menu is also somewhat lacking — not very big and nothing really noteworthy that stood out. I would only go here for beer and not for food. Though their fries were good! Another just fine airport bar that fits my beer/TV needs here.

This is a cool place to hang out in IAD. The new A/B terminal has quite a few nice places. Old Dominion stays open later than a few and is closer to the Express A gates which is why I chose it. I enjoyed the beers. They weren’t super special, but it worked. Prices at airport beer prices so be aware of that.

Terrible service. People have flights to catch, dammit! The waitress forgot our order, too. The food is a big bowl of okay. But at least they have waffle fries.

My experience comes from the A Terminal. :) Had some time to kill and needed an alcoholic drink plus dinner to send me back to Columbus after Mom’s surgery this week. Small location in A Terminal but the staff was«ONIT.» Very approachable. Very much«chop chop» to make sure their efficencies were optimal without impacting their friendliness. God love my waitress who ID’ed me. :) Then I realized by their sign, «We ID everyone» they had to as it’s their rule! Didn’t matter. Poured me a very robust healthy chardonnay without skimping and worth every $ 9.99 for the glass. Ordered their chicken and chips and while I’m not a chicken tender kinda gal, I needed something to soak up the wine and a «fun» meal. Something that was somewhat comforting and I knew I wouldn’t eat for another long while. I did ask for Buffalo Chicken flavor tenders and got what tasted like Honey Mustard so word to the warning — Honey Mustard and Buffalo may be the same here! :) Honestly — didn’t matter. It tasted great. The food was HOTHOTHOT. I’m shocked. Usually at airports you run a major risk and manage your expectations. Stunned. Halfway through my meal one of the other staff, some guy strolled up offering me another wine. I wasn’t even his table. Very friendly smile and very sweet. Thanked him and declined. My own server came up and offered the same a few min later. My point being, this place in Terminal A is small but you are monitored and watched and offered what you need at the right time. Never mind a huge party strolled in before me — I was attended to kindly. Nice job folks!

located in the B terminal, this is your best bet if you’re looking for a beer while you wait for your flight. they have a number of microbrews on tap(including their pale ale, which i thought was delicious). prices aren’t exactly cheap — i ended up paying almost $ 9 for one beer(including tax and tip). however, after roaming literally the entire way up and down B terminal, I found that this was the ONLY place that had beer on tap. other restaurants had bottled beer, but for my money, a microbrew on tap trumps just about any imaginable bottle. they do have a typical pub menu as well, but i can’t comment on that as i didn’t order anything to eat. just beer. cold, soothing beer. if i’m in terminal b again i’ll definitely stop by.
