Never thought I’d write a review for a sandwich chain, but their Mediterranean was great. Hommus, feta, added lettuce, onions and tomatoes. Nice to find.

Cyndy’s Bottom Line: A decent sandwich for the plane ride. Stopped in for a breakfast sandwich for the plane ride. You have a choice of bread either flat bread, a bagel or while wheat. There are several toppings to choose from to include avocado at an additional cost. The sandwiches are toasted too. Somehow it makes for a good sandwich. I ate the egg and cheddar sandwich on whole wheat bread and lettuce, tomatoes and avocado. Delicious! I like how it is cut in half and nicely wrapped.

Going six hours of having no good food/snacks and facing at least another three hours sans food is never a good idea for me. So while on a two-hour layover, I decided to look for a good place that would give my body proper nutrition. I was this. close to getting some Dunkin’ Donuts(I always get excited when I am in the vicinity of one since there is no DD around me) until I decided to be a responsible adult and looked on Unilocal if there are better options around me. And this is how I decided on Potbelly Sandwich Shop. The prices were reasonable for an airport. They have incredibly friendly service and were super quick to prepare your order. I settled on the Mediterranean salad with chicken and they happily took out the red onions for me. Although the lettuce could have been a little fresher, it was a surprisingly legit salad. I left them with a smile on my face knowing that I actually did something good for my body. If you are looking for nutritious food in Dulles International Airport(Terminal D), Potbelly is a very good choice.

Great lunch or dinner option in Washington Dulles Airport. Located in Terminal D, which is conveniently connected to Terminal C and accessible via shuttle from Terminals A and B. I recommend the Grilled Chicken and Cheddar sandwich, and the Mac n Cheese is a wonderful treat. Very affordable with 6″ sandwiches starting running around $ 5 – 6.

SUPERGOODYES. I ate here before my flight and I give the service an A PLUS and the food a solid A. The staff was super friendly and nice and was great in making sure my order was exactly what I wanted it to be. SOLID Second, the food was really good. I had a farmhouse salad that came with chicken, egg, bacon, and other delicious stuff. It was surprisingly fresh and big and really filling. Normally sandwhich shops kinda suck when it comes to salads… but I was really impressed. It was 8 $, so not too bad. Especially considering the fact that this is in an airport. The seating area is great too. Lots of places to plug things in which is a huge perk. There were some tables that were kinda dirty… but they were clean by the time that I left. ALSO I wasn’t feeling a milkshake. but I wanted ice cream… and the worker was so nice and gave me a HUGE dish of ice cream with oreos and man it was super delicious. It was creamy delicious ice cream, and it was one 2DOLLARS. TWO. YESTWO. It was the best steal ever. Overall I am a huge fan of this place. YEAH

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat between arriving from Montréal and heading home to San Diego. It was the best option for the time we had. Plus, I wasn’t trying to eat a heavy meal right before boarding a 5-hour flight. There was only one family of four in front of us, but it seemed to take forever for them to move on. I’m sure that was due to the indecisiveness of the family and not the girl prepping the sandwiches, but I felt the clock ticking as we stood there, trapped behind them. There were a handful of people working behind the counter at that time; I couldn’t help wondering why one of them didn’t break off from standing around to help tame the line that was quickly growing behind us. When we finally got to the front, I ordered the Chicken Salad on wheat, and my husband ordered the Mediterranean on wheat. The girl who started the sandwiches was pleasant and efficient, but once those slabs of bread left her station, it all went to pot. The girl on the other side of the toasting machine was horrible. She mumbled, she was soft-spoken, and she was in charge of asking us questions. Every single person she interacted with responded to every single sentence she uttered with a variation of, «HUH?!» We were no exception. I *think* she asked me what I wanted to dress my sandwich. I rattled off my list of ingredients, anyway, figuring that’s how all sandwich shops work. She mumbled something back at me, and my only response(having already used the indicated«HUH?!») was to blink back at her. My poor husband had it even worse. He has trouble hearing on the best of days — all those rock concerts without hearing protection as a child have caught up to him — and in this situation, he was sunk. I kept rooting for him to just nod his head and smile, but he *really* wanted his sandwich to be the way he wanted it to be, so he kept asking her to repeat herself. And she kept mumbling right back at him. Finally, some agreement was reached — I’m not sure who came out victorious — and we were passed down the line to the cashier… who seemed to think we were holding things up on purpose. She certainly wasn’t trying to be friendly or helpful. So, anyway — three stars for girl number one and the sandwiches themselves — which were quite tasty, thanks. I actually really enjoyed the chicken salad — it wasn’t as heavy with mayo as I had expected it to be, and my husband had no problems polishing off his Mediterranean sandwich. It was pricey, but given we were in an airport, it wasn’t terrible. They had some seating available on the other side of the order area, but it was full up of people, and we both wanted to get closer to our gate, just in case. I think I would try an actual Potbelly shop if we ever visit the DC area. The sandwiches were good, and they can’t all employ the mumblers and disgruntled folk of the city, right?

The world has come a long way since Subway sandwiches was introduced to the world in the late 80’s– early 90’s. Now looking back I can’t believe I thought Subway was so amazing! Since those days there’s Jimmy John’s, Firehouse Subs, Jason’s Deli, Panera Bread, Earl of a Sandwich, Quiznos, Atlanta Bread Company, Jersey Mikes etc. You get the picture. So it was to my surprise I had never tried Potbelly. Waiting in line, I had no idea as to what to order? So I asked the guy behind me. He said«go with a large Italian, you can’t go wrong it’s 880 calories!» So I went with a large Italian. With the works for toppings it was over 1000 calories. But holy sweet Son of a gun it was cracking good. I’d compare it similar to an Italian sub I’ve had at Jimmy John’s before. delicious doesn’t quite explain it well enough! If you watch calories like my wife does don’t eat here. If you don’t care and/or once in a while indulge in good food go bananas(like a hungry baboon)! They are damm good sandwiches! I wish in Canada we could have more American sandwich chains like these. A sandwich is the ultimate airport food option. Only Burritos an/or sushi compare. However I wouldn’t wait on sushi long! You can pack it up eat it now or eat hours later on a flight. Brilliant.

It’s no wonder every concourse in IAD has one of these and that they thrive. Dulles is noticeably free of the roadside fast food staples. Not even a Quizno’s or a Subway… And that’s just fine because they have Potbelly! If you know this chain, it’s the usual format: choose a sandwich original, big or flat, choose toppings and then pay. They have one of these in downtown Seattle, but ironically my first Potbelly sandwich came from Washington district not state and from an airport to boot. But that’s okay too because it was Great! I ordered a grilled chicken with cheddar on flatbread with tomatoes for $ 6 and $ 1 more for avocado. They hand it to you neatly wrapped and warm. They use real chunks of grilled chicken breast, tomatoes that are thinly sliced which works so much better without chunks of tomato squirting out the sides, the avocado tastes perfectly ripe and the flatbread is both soft and crusty dotted with sesame seeds. Amazingly, the crew is friendly, which is just plain bizarre by concessions standards. However, the concourse B location just opened by gate 46 so time will tell if the smiles endure. I hope so! This warm inviting shop is a pure win among its 3 star neighbors and looks as fresh as the ingredients taste.

I made a stop here during my layover to Dubai. There wasn’t a good variety of food places in this part of the airport and Potbelly seemed like the best option! They offer a good variety of soups and sandwiches, and I ordered the roast beef sandwich! I wanted my sandwich on the spicy side, so I asked for extra peppers in mine! It was so good with the roast beef sandwich. Price is also okay considering it is an airport location. I was given the impression that I would be in and out of this place in a quickness since their counter setup is similar to Subway’s/Quizno’s but they were actually pretty slow, that a line formed right behind me cause they took long with toasting my bread. It also took them awhile to finally ask for my toppings of choice and even after that I stood there for awhile until someone finally shows up at the register so I can pay, lol. I’m just glad my gate was super close to this place so I had time to devour my sandwich before I hop in my next plane! Solid 3 stars!

I was hungry and had some time during a layover at Dulles airport in the«C» concourse. I looked at my options and thought that I’d try Potbelly given that I’d heard of the chain but had never been. Despite it being at the very end of the concourse and far from my gate, I made the trek. It was definitely worth it. I had an Italian sandwich with almost everything on it, a bottle of water, a bag of chips, and a «dreambar»(think chocolate chip cookie square with gooey caramel). It really hit the spot and only cost ~$ 10 in total, which is very reasonable for an airport. I’ve paid ~$ 8 for a yogurt parfait at my home airport, SFO, which is pretty ridiculous. I definitely need to check out a standalone Potbelly when I see one next.

I’ve been avoiding going to Pot Belly for about 5 years, mostly because I it’s called Pot Belly and I’m trying to avoid having a Pot Belly as there is very little room in airports to do your yoga stretches, or at least to do the stretches without looking like a person who does those weird leg raises against the garbage can while you’re chowing down on m&ms. But my brother told me it was named after a stove, which I’m not sure why the didn’t just call it Cast Iron, or even Cast Iron Stove Sandwiches, but since it had nothing to do with the perception of my visual self, I had a chicken sandwich.

I stumbled upon this place while connecting through Dulles between LA and Charlotte. Having just moved from Chicago, seeing a potbelly was a sight for sore eyes. Seeing that the prices weren’t insanely steeper than normal(welcome to eating at the airport) and they had no problem making me a strawberry oreo shake at 715am, i think this is hands down the best place to grab your breakfast, lunch, or dinner. To top it off, service was friendly and attentive.

Came here around 7AM for an early flight in the terminal, and I was very pleased that they serve their entire menu even during breakfast hours. I was able to get a regular Italian sandwich for«breakfast,» and it seemed like half the people in line were doing the same. I’m not a huge fan of breakfast foods in general, so the fact that they have their entire lunch and dinner menu available so early was great. Unlike the Potbelly in terminal C, this one is centrally located right in the middle of terminal D. Service was friendly enough, and I would go back. There aren’t that many food options in this terminal anyway, especially to take away.
