This place is great! Good tap beer, great pizza, live music, great art, good service, good music, awesome bathrooms, and always have pizza by the slice. You really can’t go wrong with this joint! Prime location right on Lake Street. Oh did I mention you get to watch them toss dough and make your pizzas right in front of you?! Really excellent. Stop by! You won’t regret it!

All the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend the biscuits and gravy. We also had the bloody mary bar which was well stocked. The only complaint I have was with house spicy bloody mix. There was something off with the taste. I’m not sure if it was too garlicky or if there was something else wrong with it. It had a horrible after tastes… I couldn’t even finish it… total bummer!

Came into Pizza Luce tonight with my family after driving up from the Twin Cities. Place was not packed(there were at least half a dozen tables open) but we were told it would be an hour wait for a table and then 45 minutes wait for food after that. So we decided to order four slices of pizza to go and were told it would be a 15 minute wait on them, which seemed fine. After 30 minutes we asked what the status was of our order and were told that because of deliver and other in-house orders there were four orders ahead of ours. 15 minutes later, someone checked on us and said they’d be right out. 15 minutes after that, a full hour since we ordered, we were given 3 slices of pizza. We asked for the manager and he said he could give us a free appetizer on our next visit. When we said we wouldn’t be coming back, he walked away. Just terrible, atrocious, awful customer service.

VEGANFRIENDLY! In Duluth! I’m a vegan from California, and have a real problem getting a decent restaurant meal in the great heartland of America. What a surprise when I blundered into this modest pizza-oriented-but-eclectic spot in downtown Duluth. They are not only vegan-friendly, but the menu is laced with items labeled«VR» for«Vegan on Request». My wife, not a vegan but gluten-intolerant, enjoyed a gluten free pizza — one of many such items on the menu for another underserved group. But don’t get me wrong — the focus here is food for everyone, and almost everyone will walk away satisfied!

Fun vibes with a music scene on certain nights and a bar that’s being remodeled. There are many fun renditions of familiar dishes(baked potato pizza being my favorite). Lots of vegan and gluten free options. They have soy or cashew based vegan cheese options. Great food, cool place.

Pizza Luce is a fantastic place to eat at! Friendly waiters with good humor, and very receptive to changing odors and making changes! They also have exceptional customer service!

Almost every time I’m in Duluth and have time for a meal I go to Pizza Lucé. They have an excellent selection of food, but their pizza is delicious. Hand tossed crust, creative and high quality topping choices. What prompts me to leave this review tonight though is their customer service. We put in an order for pizza that was taking an exceptionally long time, and the store manager walked over to our table(unprompted) and explained that our order got missed and the server had called it to their attention so our meal was on the house and we got free pizza tickets. That’s great customer service. I won’t think twice to come back. Plus, the pizza was well worth the wait!

Had«The Bear» delivered to my hotel room. If you like lots of toppings, piled high like I do, this is the pizza for you. Great flavor, great crust. Just all around good. Pizza was delivered piping hot and my soda was ice cold. When you travel as much as I do and have as many bad food experiences as I’ve had, this was a real treat. Great job.

Very extensive menu, BOLD flavors in everything, pretty cool staff albeit some are just too cool for school(at least pretend you welcome gratuity :)) and tasteful décor. Then again, I wouldn’t care if the staff swore at my very own Mom… I love the food WAY too much and will come back to this place over and over.

It’s like coming home. This was the very first location of a Pizza Luce I had ever been to when I was a teenager visiting my sister who was in Duluth for college and I was hooked from the first Baked Potato Pizza that I tried. It still holds its trendy hipster charm among the rest of Duluth’s Northern Minnesota Taconite Country vibe. It is also home to one of the coolest shared bathrooms I have ever seen(wanted to get a picture, but that is kinda being a creep). We had the tried and true Baked Potato Pizza. It is like magic how they can get their crust so chewy and full of texture and with a hint of sweetness. The broccoli on the pizza is always super green and fresh and you can’t beat mixing that with bacon, cheddar cheese, and garlic mashed potatoes. Grab a beer and you are set(in my case, water to off-set the carb overload). You are also minutes away from Canal Park, so once you are done eating, walk down to the pier and watch one of the large ships come into port.

More of a hipster joint than anything. Okay pizza but price is a little high. And lots of liberal college kids always protesting inside.

I ordered Pizza a few days ago and have to say that there are definitely better options in the area. Sure, it is close to the Sheraton so probably an obvious choice if you are staying there. I can’t comment on the service since I had the food delivered, to be fair. But judging from the Pizza alone, I was disappointed.

Food was ok, an hour and a half after we ordered it… We waited and waited and then we’re told they forgot to make our pizza… Whatever it happens right? They said 5 more minutes. Ok we will wait! 20 minutes later we had to walk up to check on and they forgot to make it again. My wife left after that, I waited for the pizza and brought it home. They comped the meal, which made it better, but come on kitchen staff! Felt bad for our poor waiter who had to be the bearer of bad news over and over. I know what it’s like to have a table get their meal comped and they usually don’t tip. We did, I feel your pain man!

Pizza Luce is a chain around Minnesota. Not that that’s a bad thing, on the contrary this is what a chain should be: a safe bet for a some good pizza. They were kind enough to cook our pizza half and half here, which was very appreciated. We opted for the wild mushroom and arugula on one half and The Boss(pepperoni, salami, basil, and san marzanos) on the other. Both were delicious and exactly what you look for when going to a nicer pizza stop outside of the big box chains.

Love the pizza. But went for brunch and never want to return. Small brunch menu. Ordered side of eggs and bacon. Completely burnt to a crisp bacon, eggs delivered cold. Hate to criticize service, but we did not get checked in with at all once our food was delivered and it wasn’t even peak business.

My cousin invited us out to dinner here so we could eat something other than fast food after driving for a week to get here. The menu options seemed promising, definitely a lot of variety and creativity. There was some kind of car show going on, so parking was hard to find. We were lucky to find parking in the parking structure nearby, but I resented having to pay for parking. When we got to the restaurant, there was a band playing out front, which we could hear inside. My cousin had already been seated when we arrived so we just joined him, but it took WAY too long to get our food. Our server came by frequently to check on us and apologize, but the poor guy was working two sections that night. It took an hour for our server to get our order, then we had to wait for our appetizers and pizzas. We got our artichoke dip first, which was GREAT, but we were done with it(and still hungry) very quickly. Our meatball appetizer finally arrived with our baked potato pizza and Ruby Rae, but since it was supposed to be an APPETIZER, I thought it was pointless to serve it at that point. Had we known, we probably wouldn’t have ordered it. At least the meatballs were good. My cousin LOVES the baked potato pizza, but my husband didn’t quite like it. He thought it tasted like someone just put cheese on bread and threw a few random things on it. According to him, it didn’t really taste like a pizza. I had ordered the Ruby Rae because it was supposed to be spicy, but I found myself throwing a TON of red pepper and some salt on it because it didn’t taste like much. After we were done, we stuck around for a little bit, talking and catching up(I hadn’t seen my cousin in 9 years). Our server seemed anxious to get us out of there, which I did not appreciate. Seriously, you’re going to make us wait over an hour to take our order, make us wait around the same time for our food, and expect us to wolf it all down and just leave? I don’t think so. We finally got out of there. We were GLAD to get out of there. My cousin’s a local; he loves this place. We however, are not from around here. Maybe this kind of service is acceptable in Duluth, but it is completely unacceptable to us. Would we return? No. I applaud this restaurant for recycling and composting leftovers; not a lot of places do that. And it was nice to see so many customizable options for different diets like gluten-free dough and vegan options. Unfortunately, this place is a bit too hipster for us, and one experience was enough.

Stopped in after the Marathon, we split a large salad which was just the right size and had The Boss pizza. It was unique and delicioso. The peppers and olives were tasty. Service was prompt and friendly. It’s a good spot to eat and a prime location. Do it.

I only have great things to say about pizza Luce! Creative, delicious pizza options and their pasta is exactly what you would expect; traditional and tasty! We loved it so much we had to have it two nights in a row during our stay in Duluth! Shoutout for delivering straight up to our hotel room too! :)

The space inside this place is surprising. The pizza was good. The service was not. The«Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Aioli» were not so great. They ought to try either steaming and then roasting the B. Sprouts, or very slowly roasting them to get a more consistent doneness. It’s my guess that no one in the kitchen has ever eaten«aioli» because theirs totally missed the mark. When this dish was served, the waiter put it on the table, invited us to «enjoy», and began turning away — we quickly said that we were lacking utensils and required them to eat with. Our«Pizza Luce» arrived hot and fresh and tasty. We had to ask for another glass of wine.
