$ 18 for a pizza is a bit pricey and while Lattanzi’s pizza isn’t bad, it’s nothing all that great either. Their pizza is made in a wood-burning oven so you’ll get some blackening on the very thin crust. Martha’s Vineyard is not the place to go if you’re looking for great pizza. Lattanzi’s is among the best going nowadays… but I’d suggest some of the other items on their menu or a different type of dinner.

If you can find the door to the pizzeria section of the restaurant you are in for a treat. This place does its pizza in a legit wood oven and it definitely benefits the taste. The pizzas will feed about two adults and cost around 20 – 25 bucks. You can split the pizza to try two different flavors which is what I did. I tried the salsiccia e spinachi which was sausage, garlic, spinach & tomato. Excellent. I’d recommend it and get it again. The other half was a Carrara which had chicken, pesto, fontina cheese and hazlenuts(which I didn’t taste or see). It was very good to but the salsiccia was better. Definitely worth trying out this place for pizza. I will return. What my ratings mean: 1 star: Horrible. I’m annoyed I wasted my time and/or money here. 2 star: Not bad but nothing special. A decent place if you can’t find something else. I’d equate this to something like McDonald’s. 3 star: I enjoyed my experience there and would go back to try or do more things there. 4 star: I loved it and would be excited to go back. I’d also recommend it to a friend. 5 star: A real gem of a place. A must on anyone’s list.

We ordered a pizza to go the crust was chewy, not cooked enough on the bottom and there was a giant glob of cheese in the middle. If we were eating in we likely would have sent it back.

I’m definitely a fan of the pizza at Lattanzi’s. On my most recent visit, we ordered a half funghi, half carrara. The mushroom(funghi) half was underseasoned, but was tasty once I added a little salt. The pesto, chicken, and fontina(carrara) half, however, was unreal — some of the most delicious pizza I’ve ever had. Solid choice for a casual dinner in Edgartown.

The owner contacted me, and was truly amazingly kind. We will definitely be going back to try this restaurant again. The owner made some changes to his dishes based upon my review, and was kind, considerate, and apologetic, a rarity in this business. Perhaps we had an off night – I will definitely be returning to give Lattanzi’s a second chance. What a wonderful owner!

Excellent artisanal, gourmet pizza conveniently located in downtown Edgartown. Gorgeous, wood oven style crispy, crunchy, thin blistered crusts remind me of some of the artisanal wood-oven pies which are hip in Brooklyn’s foodie rennaisance. The Picante pie is bright, pungent and punchy, with hot peppers, large dollops of herbed ricotta, and lots of red onions, olives, and tomatoes. The Primavera was decked with fresh veggies. Those two 8 slice pies delighted and filled a hungry, finicky, pizza savvy crew of seven. Ordered an hour prior to pick up, the pies were ready on the dot, and the young Albanian college women working the take-out counter for the summer added still more spice to enliven the evening. Highly recommended.

The pizzas are amazing and the service is terrific. But the hostess is RUDE!!! She told me kids are NOT welcome and can only be there if the child stays in his seat!!! Frankly I will not go to this restaurant again bc of her Grody behavior

I’ve been here twice before, and each time the pizza amazes me. The staff are friendly and the location is great, within walking distance of the water. It is isolated enough that it is away from the crowded areas of downtown Edgartown, but close enough that it isn’t out of the way. Plenty of parking space as well, although it can get very busy and require a long wait. I highly recommend Lattanzi’s.

Is there a way to give negative stars? If so, how? I’m not sure if i went to the same place as all these other positive reviews, cuz the pizzas I had sucked. If this is the best pizza on MV then that is very sad. This place was off of church street right next to its sister restaurant. Theres a takeout window. I got 2 pizzas, 1 cheese and 1 chicken and mushroom, 1 for my kids and the other for me and the wife. Both were WEAK and paper thin. WTF! At 20 a pizza i was expecting something really good. Maybe i just got a bad batch, but these pizzas blew big time. You’d be better off elsewhere or getting a frozen pizza from stop n shop.

This has to be my favorite Pizza. I’ve lived in NYC& Florence and nothing compares. Yup, I said it. I had this pizza back in 2009 and still thought about it two years later. I made my BF take me on a weekend trip in the off season so I could just make sure this still held the title. We went there for dinner twice. We had the mushroom pizza with truffle oil and then a sausage & spinach pizza the next day. The crust is super thin and holds up really well to the toppings. Must be that wood burning oven. One pizza is perfect for two people. The only flaw is that this place is so far from me. Good job Edgartown. You’ve got a keeper.

Best pizza on Martha’s Vineyard(by far!). If you come in the summer, expect to wait(but that’s the case everywhere). They are open-year round, however, and I’d recommend a visit at any time of the year. On our most recent visit(just earlier this month) we ordered the oysters to start — OUTOFTHISWORLD. Our waiter told us they were«Honeysuckle Oysters», straight from Katama Bay. They start off briney and have a sweet finish– perfection. The rest of our meal was delicious as well, but honestly we couldn’t stop talking about the Honeysuckle oysters…

Good pizza, horrible service. It was raining when we went to pick up our order. They were busy on the phone with another customer, so we wanted to wait inside(due to the rain). They told us that we had to wait outside, in the rain. We stood outside, with no cover, by the pick up window as they helped a customer on the phone. When they were finally off of the phone they handed us our five pizzas and two salads, which were not under a heat lamp, or in the oven, but just sitting on the counter getting cold. When we got home we were cold and wet, and the pizzas were so cold that we had to heat them up in the oven. When you are spending $ 150 on pizzas you expect better service.

This was my first visit to this place in Edgarville. facing the parking lot, and abutting to the bus stop on the backside main street, its location is okay, but quite hidden. Upon entering, yucky pistachio ceiling paint color and the LED rope lighting instantly make you regret this is NOT a fancy place. We, not knowing that this is a pizzeria, ordered Seafood Pasta, Chicken Parmesan, Polenta Italian Sausage, along with Scallop Bruchetta, and Clams as starters. First off, they did not disclose the prices of today’s special menu, and the main courses were anything between $ 22 – 26, but the appetizers, $ 14 for a big slice of Bruchetta with sprinkles of diced tomato, and the scallops, and $ 12 for 8 butter and bread crumb covered shells were a true rip-off, especially when none of what we ordered had any flavor from the italian kitchen that we usually enjoy. The fountain sodas were not refillable, which is uncommon for island standards. Then Seafood Pasta I ordered, had this weird strong flavor, once put in my mouth, I thought, it was a smell either from a freezer burn, like yeast smell in your old bread of 2 – 3 months old, or, as my friend thought, they put some wine at the last minute and it did not cook off. I told the waiter that this was NOT acceptable, and, asked him to show it to the chef, but they confirmed it was how it was supposed to be cooked. By then two of my friends were finishing up their meals, I wanted my pasta back but, the waiter refused and insisted to cook something else. And, I chose chicken Parmesan, but I realized that their sauce and the pasta are also far too simple and below even for island standard. This will never be passed as a restaurant quality for me. And, it was the worst pasta experience from the island so far. So, my verdict for this place is, this cannot be categorized as a restaurant but it is a mere pick up place. No wonder nobody has ever mentioned this place to me for the past 10 years of living on the island. If you are familiar with the former Pomodoro’s in OB, this is twice worse than that for how they prepare for the food, if you really know the tastes of italian foods. I will never go back there ever again. The price and the shabby décor issue is one thing, but the horrible flavor is never forgivable.

I only eat pizza on very rare occasions these days, so when I do, I require pizza perfection.(Plus, in my case– no cheese or meat at all– yikes. Is it really pizza without pepperoni? You get used to it after a while.) This summer, I got to sample several no cheese, no meat pizzas from Lattanzi’s Pizza and WOW was I a VERY happy girl or what?! We called ahead for take out both times. One experience required some serious patience as something got lost in the messy world of summer cell phone service on the island. We left a message and when we arrived no one had a clue about our order. Finally one person admitted that they NEVER check their phone messages. WHAT??? We DID call with our order and left three phone numbers… Despite this, I LOVED this wood fired pizza, smothered with basil, tomatoes, olives and assorted fresh veggies. It was too crowded for us to sit down and eat there.(We were happy to bring our meal home to eat on the deck with some wine and beer while the sun went down.) My family members do chow on more traditional pizzas; theirs were loaded with cheese, sausage and other yummy treats. In fact, there were several arguments over who got the last piece or two. And not a single slice was left for digging into the next morning. There’s a very small out door area here(the garden seating area next door is owned by Espresso Love) and a larger indoor space. I can recommend taking out — just don’t rely on leaving a message with your order! Talk to someone! Wish Lattanzi’s Pizza was open year round. I’d be there for this terrific pizza, even in a winter nor’easter.

I truly enjoyed my pizza. Granted that it was a 6 mile bike ride that lead me to Lanttanzi’s door I am 99.9% sure that it was the quality of the pizza and not my empty stomach that made me love the food here. We were a group of 6 and arrived at that odd time between the lunch and dinner rush — we were seated immediately. The staff was very accomodating and the pizza was great. We ordered the chicken, pesto and pine nuts pizza and the mushroom, marinara, and cheese pizza(the actual names of these pizzas are totally slipping my mind). Both were yummy but the chicken with pesto was definitely the table’s favorite. The pizzas come in one size and our party of 6 had leftovers(that were happily eaten the following day). The seating area outside is narrow and honestly a bit awkward but we will defnitely be back for take-out at a minimum.

This might have been a 4 if it weren’t for the strange events that happened to us when we were waiting for our food. They don’t take reservations, which I thought was strange for a place this busy. No problem. We got in and didn’t have to wait for an inside table, but the the outside tables would have been a wait. We had a movie at 7, so we chose to take the table inside. There are about 10 tables inside. It was cozy but not too crowded. The pizza part of the kitchen is open, so you can see in. I was looking at the beautiful wood-burning pizza oven. Jeff ran to catch the waiter to change the beer that Deb ordered. Deb went to get the movie tickets.(In retrospect, that was a lifesaver us.) The waiter who was helping us and the table next to us was a nice young man. He had an accent, but I’m not sure where he was from. The table next to us ordered a sausage pizza. The waiter brought them a pizza with tomato, spinach and sausage. They got a little upset because it wasn’t what they ordered. I watched him take the pizza back to the kitchen, get yelled at by the chef and then he brought it to our table. I didn’t complain because we were in a time crunch, but I saw the journey that pizza took to get to our table. The couple next to us got their sausage pizza within a few minutes of this whole escapade. We ordered a caesar salad, the mussels with marinara and a sausage plate with polenta. The caesar dressing had anchovies in it. I like the fishiness and saltiness they add to the salad, but it still lacked something. I should have added a bit of pepper to mine. The mussels were a bit«funky» according to Jeff. I hadn’t really had them before, so I didn’t know what they were supposed to taste like. We only ordered them because Deb said that she and her friend ordered them regularly. They liked to dip their bread in the sauce, which I thought was quite tasty. The pizza had a thin crust. It was cooked in the wood oven, so it was dry and crispy with some burnt spots, which I think adds a wonderful flavor. The sausage was a small crumble. It had a good pork flavor. The spinach leaves and sliced tomatoes were added on top. The tomatoes were juicy, not cooked long enough to have the juices run out and make the whole pizza wet. The spinach leaves barely wilted. The pizza sauce was not overpowering but it had good flavor. I didn’t notice the cheese, which to me, speaks to it being in harmony with the rest of the ingredients. I only had one slice, but I could have easily eaten the whole pizza myself. The sausage was excellent. It had a nice flavor. You could really detect the fennel seeds in it. It was served over a very wet polenta. There was also marinara sauce over the whole dish. There were three sausages, covered with carmelized onions and roasted red peppers. There wasn’t too much onions nor peppers. I would have liked just a little more of them. We got great service. The waiter did his best to accommodate our movie. Granted, he had given us someone else’s pizza, but his quick thinking saved us several minutes. I would definitely eat here again. Every pizza I saw looked wonderful. The sausage dish I had was a standout.

The pizza was good, very thin crust and you can only order large pizzas. The pasta dishes were good, they let us order half potions, which was great. They charged $ 2.50 for a glass of soda which was small, we asked for refills, since they never brought us water and when we received our bill, they had charged us full price for each refill, even iced tea, which I had never heard of!!! Overall, not a bad place and the price was moderate.

This is a review by a vegetarian This is a fine pizza place that also serves decent pastas. As regular readers know, I order the dish that is in the restaurant’s name the first time I go. Pizza is thin but not quite cracklin and is baked in a wood burning oven in an open kitchen. They do NOT take reservations. There IS a parking lot but it and the restaurant fill instantly in season when they open at 5:30. So either be there at 5:30(as our friend told us to be), suffer the 40 minutes wait(which I still cannot believe we did), or show up after small children go to sleep so you’re not competing with families for table space. It’s a surprisingly good value in MV at $ 12 for about a 15″ pizza. The carnivores also enjoyed their prosciutto strewn pie.
