I will admit on occasions when I dined inside the restaurant I found the staff friendly and attentive. However a to-go order is another thing. On two separate occasions when I ordered the orders were not fulfilled as described on the menu. When I bought the matter to the attention of the manager he rudely explained that he could not stand in the kitchen and watch every order go out. Honestly, he sounded like he may have been under the affect of a controlled substance.

Came in to kill some time on my day off. Very friendly service. Large portions that I wasn’t expecting. Awesome Margaritas.

Love Sharky’s! Honestly, it’s the best Mexican food and margaritas around, and I don’t just mean on-island, I mean probably in all of New England. The Edgartown location is huge, lots of eating indoors and out, they can accommodate big parties, and there’s lots of seating at the big bar. My favorite place to watch a game when on-island. The staff is always friendly and efficient, and the owner JB is great guy who supports the area in many ways. A Sharky’s visit is a part of every Vineyard trip we take.

My wife and I just grabbed some chips and salsa for a snack after having a beer tasting at Bad Martha’s next door… of course we had to try a margarita too which was really good, pomegranate was what we decided on. The food is okay for typical tex-mex but the ambiance and service was really good. If you’re over here and can’t decide what to do for food, this is definitely a great option.

We went here for the first time in two years because we received an email for 30% off dinner. We had the coconut shrimp, chicken quesadillas and steak fajitas. The coconut shrimp were over sauced. The quesadillas were overpowered by the quantity of chicken and came with no condiments. The steak fajitas were mediocre and topped with a teaspoon of sour cream. Our server provided condiments and additional sour cream on request. We had a coupon for free coconut shrimp that our server said was valid but when the bill came, we were told that we could not use the coupon as it would be double discounting. Since the shrimp were free, we couldn’t understand how that would be double discounting. The manager, Karen B, attempted to explain this but couldn’t to our satisfaction. She agreed that we could have gone to the bar, used the coupon and then come into the dining room for dinner at a 30% discount. This makes no sense.

We read the Unilocal reviews before going to Sharky’s, they weren’t apologetic or warm. We figured who cares it’s Mexican food, how bad can it be? Sharky’s turned out to be one of the bigger tourist traps we found on the island. I was rather unimpressed from the get go. We ran into a hostess with an attitude who gave me the evil eye when I told her I didn’t want to be seated next to loud children. Our server was great but I’m not sure if it was her or the way the restaurant operates but Sharky’s is the first Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in my life where you don’t get chips and salsa. We ordered BBQ pork nachos which were good although I cringe when I see jalapeños being served with the seeds still in. After that it went downhill. We both ordered fajitas, steak and chicken. Both meats were bland, same with the sides. The deathblow to this place was the tortillas served were the worst I’ve had in my life. I don’t think you could buy the cheapest tortillas in a convenience store and get worse ones than these, they kind of ruined the entire entrée since the tortilla is what you’re tasting first. Stick with the places in the town center. I’d rather pay $ 20 for a lobster roll than $ 5 for those fajitas. We won’t be coming back to Sharky’s.

TERRIBLE! Don’t even bother. We went here because everything else on island was closed. Cold food even after we returned it and they brought it again. The refried beans tasted like paste. The chicken fajitas were rubber instruments. This place should be shut down. The restrooms were overflowing. Yuck! Don’t waste your time!

I was trying to decide whether or not to give this restaurant five stars. In the end, I decided it is worth the five star rating for our visit to Sharkeys in Edgartown. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive, and left nothing to be desired. The food menu, especially for Edgartown Massachusetts, was fairly diverse and offered a good amount of food at relatively inexpensive prices for the island. Irrespective of location or value, the food was just plain excellent. We started with a plate of nachos for our table, and they were absolutely delicious. All of the ingredients used were extremely fresh, including the tomatoes, cilantro, cheese, and guacamole. Chips were still crunchy and did not get soggy from the other ingredients or from preparation. I had a burrito for my entrée, and let’s just say if this was available near where I live in New Jersey I would be coming here often. I chose the marinated beef, which is marinated in a very nice, somewhat sweet cilantro-based marinade. It was outrageous! Again, the freshness of the ingredients really stood out here. Even the drinks were pretty good. I had a special watermelon Mojito, which featured lots of fresh mint. What a family of five like we have, the value and quality here was appreciated. Highly recommended!

First place we went to while on island. Not very good and average food. Table and chairs all felt sticky.

We returned to our favorite Edgartown Sharky’s location and bummed out to see no shark displayed in room off to right. Also noted food tasted different and was cold, waitstaff not as courteous and attentive, had to send diluted Margaritas back. Chips also not free anymore. Bummed out our favorite Cantina has sunk ship!

Don’t bother. Taco Bell on steroids. Bad margaritas, frozen food but 1 star for good service.

Been here a few times since traveling to the island and has decent tex-mex food for being on the island. The waitress was very sweet and the service was relatively fast. The drinks were decent and the food was pretty good. I really liked the tortilla soup and that all the ingredients seemed to taste pretty fresh. Some things on the menu were a littler more pricey than others but for the island it was pretty standard. It is probably a better place for drinks than for food if you are looking to only spend a few bucks. Nothing really excites me about this place, but I will probably end up going back again in the future.

Nannie Mcfee just chased me out of the place with my entire family, including a young girl. But that’s only the end of this story. To start, she gave us attitude right off the bat and wouldn’t let us sit at an empty table right next to us. When we finally got seated(at the table she refused to let us sit at) it took over 20 mins to even get waters. You could tell the rest of the staff didn’t agree with this girls antics either, as they were trying to kill us with kindness(in a good way) making up for what happened before. Skip to the end that I mentioned before, she was also yelling«do you want bags» at such an octave that even people outside thought she was insane. Long story short, skip it. Or make sure McFee isn’t working tonight… If it wasn’t for the terrible hostess service it would have easily been a 4 – 5 star rating. But she was so god awful my family and I never want to go back.

Average food. Good service. Our food and server were average but what really stuck out was the manager Karen. She gave us some great advice on what to do around the island and most importantly when we were in a pinch she let us use her personal phone charger. I’d also highly recommend the game room. Family environment with a decent sized bar for an older and local crowd. The bathroom could use some work, like I’m talking thousands of dollars of repairs on a functional sink. But it was great in a pinch and we thank Karen for all that she did!

Place was recommended by a local. We stopped in to cool off with a strawberry daiquiri and a Sharky-rita. Drinks were good. We didn’t eat there since we were just at Larsen’s Fish Market.

How did I get a shandy for $ 3? Doesn’t matter, it was cheap and refreshing, and it made me happy. Also, the nachos were surprisingly excellent– they’re no masterpiece like at Sunset Grille(Boston), but they’re satisfying and inexpensive and covered in toppings. Worked out to be a decent place for a beer and a snack, after a round or two of tasters next door at Bad Martha’s.

Both locations in ob and Edgartown have the same star rating in my book. Everyone is always friendly and greets you and the prices are reasonable — but I consider these to be as chain restaurants of the island. Everything I order has lack of cheese, mildly lacking some flavor in the meat and dishes contain cabbage? The nachos I have tried twice and had to eat with a fork. The chips are nice but all the toppings are like they are squirted out of a bag. How is guacamole in strings all over the food– I wonder? But a regular order of tacos look like mini tacos and I was still hungry after 2 tacos and beans with rice. Again where was the cheese on everything? And who wants a side of cabbage at a Mexican restaurant? Go with the chips and salsa.

Just got done celebrating my husbands birthday at Sharkeys with his parents. What an amazing time. The manager on Thursday, July 24th was like a master of ceremonies. He was constantly coming over to our table and making sure everything was great. He got us a great seat outside, setup some heaters for us as it got cooler and when the time came for a little birthday celebration, he dragged everyone out to sing and put Chris in a sombrero. Service was beyond 5-stars… The food was equally outstanding. Chris had quite possibly the biggest burrito of his life and we both shared the Scorpion Bowl, a cocktail to end all cocktails. I had the tilapia fish tacos and they were outstanding as well. By the end of the night, we were all promising each other we’d be coming back here the next time we’re on the island. Thank you Sharkey’s Cantina for a great birthday celebration for my husband!

ThIs place seems to quite popular in the area, but we were disappointed !! The nachos were just ok, the spicy killa quesadilla was not spicy enough. The saving grace were their margaritas!!!
