You get a lot for the money. Open late hours so it’s convenient. Small so not good for big parties.

I used to love coming here to eat. I brought friends here and one of them found a small rock in their food. Then another time a friend and I got food poisoning after eating here. I stopped going there, instead we go next door to tnt Chinese food.

This guys made me mad, we drove from Ballard… we got there at 1:30am because I looked on Google that they close at 3:00am and what a surprised :(they were closing when we got there. We were 3 ppl and there were three more ppl trying to get in, so we were 6 total and they just didn’t let us go in. That place sucks!

I expected there to be more tofu here… with the name & all. I got my meal & ordering it was difficult. Finally after explaining it ¾ times she got it but then had to tell the kitchen many times. My food was tasty but definitely not worth what I paid.

We came here when the grand opening sign was up a few months ago. It was very busy and delicious at the time. Last Saturday we came in to eat around 4:00 pm. The bulgogi was not fresh and possibly reused. It tasted sour and the color of the meat was questionable. The small fish side dish was also not fresh as there was no flavor. The tofu soup was so salty that I ended up pouring half my water into it. Who knows maybe the soup was also reused. All workers were busy eating. There were two full tables still waiting to be cleared and cleaned. This whole place is a huge turn off now. I won’t be returning again.

Came here for a late night bite and was pretty impressed. I’m an intense soup enthusiast, so I know good soup when I see it! I ordered the bulgogi which came with a small soondubu. Bulgogi was good, soup was hot, flavorful, spicy just the way it should be. What I enjoyed most were the wide variety of side dishes(even came with a small fried fish!) also, the stone pot of rice and hot water they give you which is super legit and reminded me of my Korean granny who used to do that. I also like how they’re open so late! Got here around midnight and the restaurant was maybe half full with only 1 server but he was quick and knowledgeable!

Very good korean food, quick service and always hot. We ordered a little bit of everything the fish had a good flavor as did the beef bulgogi.

BCD Tofu House is delicious! I’ve been to once in california and the interior looks WAYWAY better than this one. This one has some weird floor that looks like they just threw paint on top of it. The one in california was also like 2.5 times bigger. Anyways, the best thing about this place is that they close at 2AM! Super late so for those looking for a late night snack, check out BCD tofu house! I’ve been here a few time and have ordered the regular beef tofu soup and an order of bulgogi. I personally find it a little expensive. Bulgogi or a simple bibimbap cost over 15 dollars I believe. All the soondubu are 10 dollars. It’s an okay price but I personally don’t feel it’s worth that much. It does come with a side of purple rice and a cooked fish. For all the soondubu, you can also choose the spicy level. I ordered medium and didn’t think it was spicy at all though… will try their maximum spicy next time. The banchan(side dishes) were delicious. I enjoyed the kimchi, cucumber, mash potato, and the radish. They don’t have a lot of employees so although there are tables open, it make take them a while for them to clean it and set it up due to all the other tables. Overall, pretty good! Will come here whenever I want something warm!

I think they served us LEFTOVERMEAT from a previous customers’s kalbi dish!!! Evidence in my photos. We came there at 4:40pm, the place was empty, they have some grand reopening(basically new tables, chairs, and paint splattered floor to be exact). I asked the waitress the difference between the lunch vs dinner portion and she said none, except it’s $ 4 dollars more for dinner. I thought that’s bizarre… so she said, «okie okie, I charge lunch price,» in a broken korenglish cuteness. After waiting around for what seemed like a good 20 mins, she brought out our kalbi and bulgogi dish. The bulgogi was fine, but the kalbi appeared to be meat chewed off the bone and the cook just tossed it back on the grill and served to us. I wasn’t going to say anything because they probably wouldn’t believe us but good thing I took photos of the food for instagram before I ate it so I had some evidence to back up my claim. The waitress said, «oh sooooo sorry, I bring you new one.» Ok cool fine, I’ll take your apology and question whether I’ll get food poisoning after. When she brought out the new kalbi it only took ten minutes to cook and had adequate meat on the bone. Major difference. When we were done, we had to come up to the register to pay, not the type of place that brings your check, she charged us full dinner price($ 18.99 kalbi, $ 15.99 bulgogi). That’s fine, I get it, your dinner price starts after 3pm, but don’t tell us you’ll only charge us for lunch price and then change your mind last minute. Her excuse was, «oh soooo sorry, we have a new cook, and he just left, new cook just come.» So I guess it’s ok to serve up left over bones for $ 18.99 to me?! I paid my bill and tipped fairly since it wasn’t entirely the waitress’s fault but I won’t be coming back here ever again. I should’ve eaten at San Mura down the street.

Pros: — Fried fish that came with the meal — delicate and meaty — Banchan were some of the best we’ve had — cucumbers, kimchi, and radish were all great. — Served purple rice out of stone bowls at the table side which was cool. Neutral: — Pork bulgogi was just OK — some good pieces that had some more blackened bits, but others were nothing special. — Kalbi — flavor was good but didn’t get that much with the«dinner» order for the price. — Extra rice in the stone bowl was soaked in some tea — interesting? No crispy rice afterwards… — Assorted soondubu flavor was OK, had better, had worse.

They’re open Easter Sunday! Its one of the reasons i stopped by — most other places were closed. The combo meals for lunch seemed reasonably priced. When i was there, there were only a couple of people there and the kitchen staff was having their lunch. I actually really liked that they were eating the same thing that the restaurant serves. Anyways, the food was fresh and good. I’ll definitely be back.

This place just recently reopened again, and it gets busy sometimes. On a friday night, we decided to try it. We came in and we stood for a table to be vacant. After we had been seated, we took sometime looking at the menu. We got Bibimbap in the stone pot. It came with a lot of side dishes(see picture) and Tofu soup. The Tofu Soup had no taste at all. The fish was on the side had me stop eating. The tea was ok. I will not come to this place again.

Is it me? I don’t think I have a good relationship with Korean food, well at least Seattle Korean food. The taste and flavors are nothing like the Korean food I’ve had that was cooked by my Korean friends. Years ago my friends cooked for me almost two times a week and nothing ever had the tastes that I’ve had at the Korean places I’ve tried in Seattle. I keep thinking, let me just try one more place and it will be the one. The food never tastes fresh to me. I also don’t find it flavorful at all. Bcd remodeled and it looks a lot better. It’s usually packed so I would say that’s a sign that people really do like it. Service is mediocre at best. I won’t be back.

Authentic is an accurate description. i say that b/c i just got back from a work trip to Seoul. Had some local colleagues take me to a couple of Tofu joints. it’s simple, lunch time type of food. not fancy/fine dining. Tofu is well made, well seasoned. Seafood/beef mixed in. Plenty spicy. Rice comes in a stone pot, put hot tea/water in to make ‘congee’ for after the meal. Side dishes are pretty good. can be a bit more diverse here, but nothing out of the ordinary. Grilled fish — wow exactly like the places I had in Seoul. Delicious, and as authentic as it gets here in Seattle.

Seems like a traditional korean tofu house. The prices for the soondubu are great for the amount you are getting. Around $ 10 for a good sized portion, plus a bowl of rice, and a bunch of side dishes, including a grilled fish. You will definitely be full after you have your meal here. I ordered the traditional soondubu pot with mild spice, which was just enough for me. It was very flavorful and filling. The cold side dishes are a good complement to the hot dish. They also serve barley tea, which I liked. Would come again!

Their tofu soups are good, at least as good as other Korean restaurants I’ve been to, what what sets BCD apart from other soondubu restaurants is their purple rice. It somehow seems more nutritious because it’s more brightly-colored, and they cook it in a stone pot. At the end of the meal, they pour tea into the pot to get all the rice off the sides. I like that!

Other than going to the nearest Phở restaurant when I’m sick, there’s always BCD tofu house. Even when I’m not sick and in the mood for fast korean food I’ll head over to BCD. Their soups are so good, but I must warn you that they come out hot! You’ll get the occasional sides and they serve multi-grain rice(aka Japgok-bap… right?), and fried fish. After eat you soups, entrée, sides, if you still have an appetite I recommend eating the rest of the rice that they poured tea in… it’s suppose to be really good for you!
