Beach Hut Deli

I love their sandwiches! It seems pricey but it’s not, a medium will feed a man and a woman a small for two women, I love the music, the Santa Cruz is bomb! The sandwiches are hooked up with meat, not like subway who give you mostly veggies. The food is great, the attitude of the employees is sometimes rude otherwise 5 stars. I love beach hut!

Beach Hut Deli makes some great sandwiches. I love the ones with cream cheese, and sprouts! And add avocado, wow!

Honestly every time I’ve been, the girls at the cash are super rude and don’t listen. They tend to leave things out so you have to go up to them and ask for whatever’s missing and then they give you attitude about it. Care about your job more. Also, I purchased a side of soup for $ 3.95 and I’m not even being dramatic, there’s about 5 little spoon full bites in this container. The container is BARELY full. It looks like it should be a side of sauce. Ridic!!! If you’re gonna eat here just be aware that’s all.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this location. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and beer. I asked what happened to my favorite beer (eye if the hawk) that they always had on tap, the staff was funny and offered me a taste of the replacement since its very similar. I had to decline since I am 8 months pregnant but then it became a joke. We enjoyed the food and the staff!

After a three month hiatus I returned to The Hut tonight. Christy, the owner, very clearly cares about her customers, so I gave the place another chance. I’m very glad I did!
Felicia greeted my roommate and I warmly upon entering. Our food was delivered promptly and freshly made. I ordered the meatball sandwich and it was the best I have ever had in my life, I’m totally serious. Highest recommendation.
It’s fantastic when a business cares about you. I encourage everyone to stop in and enjoy a delicious meal, it’s absolutely worth it!

I absolutely love Beach Hut Deli sandwiches, no problems there. However, my husband went in 20 minutes before closing and was told that everything must be to go and no drinks because they had already sterilized the machine and all tables had been cleaned and chairs put up. I was under the impression that when a place is open they are open and serving until the time posted on the outside of the door. You should not begin cleaning up until 5pm. This is bad business practice. Now my husband and I are eating in our car with our infant daughter. We are on our way to visit family so not close to home. I’m very disappointed.

Maybe it’s the new owner? But this bhd was great. Fast service, good food, clean restaurant. Open Monday through Sunday. Dollar bud light pints on Thursday for football. 2 $ long board pints on Fridays … I don’t know what more you could want from a beach hit deli… But I will say we went on a Sunday afternoon…

Good food I had chicken Parmesan sandwich. Only think though is my sandwich, fries, and drink were $ 14.

Tried it for the first time today, was not impressed what so ever. The sandwich had lots of meat and equal parts of mayo and cream cheese. This place has a great setting and a cool environment, I guess it’s a place to come try it out, however is not a place that competes with any of the sandwich shops here in Elk Grove.

UPDATE: The owner immediately contacted me and wants to make this situation right. I can really respect an owner who cares. Maybe in a few months we will give it another try. If they can change a few things im sure this location will be awesome again! Their amazing sandwiches speak for themselves. Thank you for contacting me so promptly.

I have been coming to the elk grove beach hit for years! probably close to 10 years or so. Even back at their old location when they had karaōke. I have never been disappointed with their customer service, food or beer! My lady and I hadn’t been in long while though, and she had a craving, so we decided to go today. It was the WORST beach hut experience that I’ve ever had. I will not be returning to this location. I would rather drive out to west sac if I really want beach hut.
Went in around noon on Friday September 17^th. The deli wasn’t busy at all, we walked straight up to the counter and ordered. To start out, while in the middle of placing our order, the lady (didn’t catch her name unfortunately) decided to answer an incoming call. Not a big deal, and I understand the service industry and realize that she couldn’t just let it keep ringing. We ordered our two sandwiches, and two beers. She looked around at her other coworkers, like she was sort of confused, and then asked us again what beers we wanted, and what sizes. After paying she asked us a THIRD time what beers we wanted, because she’d forgotten. She NOW tells us that one of the beers we want is out, and asked if we can choose another. So we did. She said, «okay. I will bring them right over to you. «So we grabbed a couple seats.
We waited for 6 minutes before she FINALLY brought us our beers to our table (I could have easily drank a whole beer and reordered another round during that time). Looking at the beer that I had chosen, it looked very under carbonated, but I was thirsty, so I decided to try drinking it. After only being able to drink 2 – 3 ounces of my Red Trolley Ale by Karl Strauss (one of my very favorite beers, so I know what it SHOULD taste like), I decided that the beer is just completely flat, and didn’t taste good at all. I also work in the craft beer industry and know a fair amount about beer carbonation levels. So I went up to the counter to inform them that the carbonation was off (EXTREMELY undercarbed, and flat). All 3 people just shrugged their shoulders and said, «sorry» in a very sarcastic and non caring matter. Not a single one of the 3 employees behind the counter even offered to make it right by offering me a different beer, a refund, or even a soda! I couldn’t bring myself to drink this horrible beer, so I ended up just leaving a full beer up on the counter. My lady and I enjoyed the one good beer that we received just fine.
So now after comes our sandwiches. I ordered my ‘Surfin bird’ which is my favorite sandwich at beach hut. I’m a simple guy to please. I asked for no mustard and no avocado on my sandwich. I cannot stand the taste of mustard. My sandwich comes out full of mustard on both buns, so I scraped as much off as I could with napkins, and ate what I could of the sandwich. When paying 9 bucks for a SMALL sandwich, I really want to enjoy my sandwich. My lady enjoyed her sandwich and it was everything that she had been craving.
We come to beach hut whenever we want good customer service, a good sandwich, and an ice cold beer to go along with it. Today though, we got crappy service, an improperly prepared sandwich, and an undrinkable beer. I spend 30 bucks including a tip that I wish I could have taken back after the fact. We will never return to this beach hut again. They have really gone downhill!!!

This place is pretty good, food wise. The customer service not so much. It was my first time here and it kinda sucked. The guy who was taking orders was really rude, he answered the phone while I was ordering and told me to wait really rudely …
I asked ordered a surfin bird, and asked for no pickles, and no cream cheese, on a Dutch crunch bread.
They gave me a sandwich with a lot pickles, cream cheese and on a French roll…
I’m not really picky… But I feel like I asked for pretty simple things…

First ate at this deli in Brentwood and loved it ever since. The Elk Grove location is great. Friendly fast service and the food is amazing. My favorite is the Marley nachos or the surfin bird but really you can’t go wrong with anything you order.

Lame. Ordered the Haloe Cheese Steak, meat didn’t even cover the bread. Ordered the same sandwich in Morgan Hill and it had meat and cheese overflowing everywhere. Won’t order this at this location ever again!

Ok so I came here last Wednesday with my husband and let me just mention its a new owner so it’s not the same experience from my previous one. I can say that the place was clean when we got there and there were a few other people that were there eating as well. My husband ordered the surf bird, I don’t know something like that. I know it had turkey, cream cheese, and etc. I had the pastrami and it was delicious! We both ordered a large and well it’s too big to finish I brought half home and my husband had a little left over from his sandwich to bring home too. This place is definitely worth the money for a sandwich because they really stuff their sandwiches. There is a lot of meat in their sandwiches compared to how other places make their sandwich. Another plus is the customer service, the employees here were very friendly especially the cashier I liked her a lot. Everyone should try this place out. If you had a horrible experience before it is a new owner so the customer service is a lot better. My husband and I will definitely come back again.

I give this place a big ZERO! We’ve been waitin for over 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches. Also got see someone get really made after waiting forever for their sandwich and they gave him a cold meatball sandwich. Not cool.

Never been to a beach hut deli will never be coming back again. Here on a slow Sunday only one couple ahead of me ordered a small santa barbara bacon cream cheese and avacado. took awhile i was able to go thru the sacto news and review before i got my sandwich that would have been ok but only ONE piece of bacon on a $ 7.25 sandwich? Come on now !!! More value with Mr pickles…

Basically … I was missing my bacon in my sandwich and it was very terrible. The pickle inside was dis colored and the cream cheese slice was so small I could not even taste it. It was very hot inside and stuffy I swear I was sweating so bad. I ordered a beer and the cup smelled funny. And the tables all dirty and sticky. Barf never going back :(

Food is really good… customer service is pretty pathetic.
Walked in the door and no greeting. Employee #1 was busy combing his hair near the front counter.
Sandwiches were ordered. One of them was made completely wrong «Beach Bikini». Asked for it to be remade and employee #1 said okay.
After receiving the second sandwich, we saw that it was made wrong again. A morsel of cranberry sauce, no sesame seeds, white bread instead of sliced wheat and added items that were not part of the order.
We brought these issues to the attention of employee #1. He said,
«There is cranberry sauce on there». We replied, no there is not. He held up can of cranberry sauce and a can opener and said «Its gonna be awhile, this thing (can opener) don’t work».
We said, that’s fine, we will wait.
Sandwich #3 was correctly made other than not being on wheat bread which we found out they were out of after sandwich #2.
In a nutshell…$ 10-​$ 15 dollars for a sandwich that is pretty good but a very poor customer service experience.

This place deserves «Zero» stars! Before walking in I noticed the new ownership sign and jokingly said to my husband, «You know what that means, the food is going to be bad!» Well let’s just say that I was spot on, first of all it was humid in the restaurant, felt like the AC was turned off, there was no ice in the drink machine so I had to go next door to buy a cup of ice for our drinks which I also purchased next door. I didn’t even drink the water, I was afraid that it would give me the squirts.
I ordered the Hawaiian, disgusting! The pulled pork was more like pulled fat, the pineapple was canned pineapple and it appeared as if they took sliced cheese and used it as a topping. The only thing that looked edible on that salad was the lettuce. The entire thing was questionable so I returned it and asked for a refund. Don’t waste your time or your money going there.

Under new ownership! Sandwich was good service was good. lord knows that this location needed help! hopefully the new owners will be able to change it around and make it just like every other beach hut around!
