Their halo-halo is delicious! I love it. One of the best ones I’ve had in Sacramento. I highly recommend it because they put a good amount of ingredients, 2 scoops of ice cream, ube(purple yam paste) and pinipig(rice flakes). I wish they add leche flan because I’m used to always having it on top of everything. Hehehe. Overall, it’s really good. I keep coming back for it. Nom nom nom… :)

I’m eating yummy chicken. The lumpia’s delicious and hot! Haha. The pancit became available too. And the sweet girl let us know and then brought it over to us!!! So sweet!!! Ate all of the Java rice… Loved the rice!!! When I’m in Hawaii, I find these little gems everywhere! But not in Sacramento!!! It was my first time and I will be coming back!!!

My second time coming here and they still didn’t have fries so they suggested i get java rice instead. I agreed and waited. A minute later, they tell me they don’t have java rice… so i replaced it with garlic rice… Cmon. how hard is it to restock on fries and java rice. Drive 20 mins to restaurant depot and purchase some fries. I seen at least 6 people in the back. Waited roughly 20 minutes… not too sure why b/c it wasn’t even busy. I got my food and it was just super salty. Drizzle over with siracha and ranch. It tasted like the chicken was pulled apart from left overs and the egg was cold. Super disappointed.

I was so excited to try this place, I just got back from being in the Philippines for over a month so I was excited to compare it to the authentic Filipino food I was eating for so long. The food came out pretty fast, maybe 15 min? I got the half fried chicken with Pancit & Java rice, Also got garlic rice, vegetable lumpia and pork lumpia… YES I was sharing lol. So lets start with the chicken, it was very moist & I loved the crunch to it. If I had to describe the flavor it seemed to taste a lot like hoisen sauce, & oddly so did the flavor of the lumpia so Im assuming they love using hoisen sauce to marinate & cook with? The Pancit was pretty good. However, I got 2 orders & one came out quite lighter than the other, as in it had more seasoning & you can tell. It was way more saltier than my other batch. The rice was pretty good. The only thing that bothered me was pretty much all the employees seemed to be more focused on their friends. Don’t get me wrong they were VERY nice & greeted each guest. But there was either some employees(not on the clock) or friends that would sit around and talk to them while they were taking our orders. Also, the«friends» walked to the back to speak to the ppl in the kitchen… Just a distraction. Overall, it was pretty good & I will definitely be back. Was it like the food in the Philippines? No, but it was a very nice«fast food» version in my opinion of course.

I found this spot on Groupon a while back and it sold out before I could complete my transaction! That let me know this place is popular. So as soon as I saw it again I hit«buy» as fast as I could. Lol My husband and I went for dinner and it was great! The chicken was seasoned very well. The lumpia was delicious… And even without the Groupon the prices were pretty good. I will definitely visit again. I forgot to take a picture before I started eating… Lol. My bad. This was one of the combos. I shared with my toddler and it was more than enough.

Me and wifey decided to try this place. We came in about 6:15 and it was getting packed so we went up to the front and ordered. Half fried chicken with java rice(so good) and lumpia. Wifey also ordered the same but with garlic rice. The chicken was moist and cooked very well. It was tender and very tasty. It was cooked to perfection as the meat falls right off the bones. Did someone say desert? We tried the halo halo and it was really good. Overall the place is clean, friendly staff and food cooked to perfection. I would def come back sooner than later. Enjoy Unilocalers :)

I’m no expert on Filipino food but their food was delicious and this place was packed! Our friend got the donut-like dessert. it was hot out of the oven and SO good even though it wasn’t filled with anything. Seating was limited and the restaurant was quite casual but the food came out quickly and people were in and out. We also got the halo-halo — it was a good size and delicious. Parking was plentiful and I would definitely stop by again if I was in the area!

The title is really deceiving. I thought it was just another KFC, but it turns out to be a Filipino restaurant. Not just Chicken… This places sells a variety of foods. Chicken, rice, noodle, fish, ect dishes. I was shocked to see it so packed. It’s located in the back of a shopping center and has new view from the road. This must be a word mouth types of place. When I arrived it was filled with many families. The turnover is pretty quick so don’t walk away. Everything is fresh and tasty. If you want more of a kick they have a variety of hot sauces. You order at the cash register and wait for your order be called. It was a little slow when we went at the same time it was packed. There is a first time for everything and this was my first time.

I love me some good fried chicken. Especially when it’s juicy and crispy. I order the half fried chicken with garlic rice and pancit. Waiting was not long at all. Our food came out pretty quickly. Presentation is decent. It was serve in a wood like plate. The chicken took about half the plate and the rice and pencit took the other half. The food was pretty good. Lots of flavor in every bite. The garlic rice was delicious and didn’t feel overpowering. Then pancit was decent. I really like the sausage that was in the noodles. The chicken came out crispy and the skin taste light. It was a nice texture. I would definitely come back here because there was alot more on the menu that I didn’t get to try. I saw some of the other customers ordering other things besides the chicken and it took delish.

I’ve only tried the halo-halo here, and it was DELISH! Price is a tad steep at $ 5.35 each, but definitely worth it because the servings are generous and comes with tons of goodies including taro ice cream, cheese ice cream, crushed ice, sweet beans, assorted boba-like chews, dried coconut, jackfruit, and topped with rice krispies! Plus it’s really pretty! I’m not a fan of filipino food in general, but I’ll definitely come back to get this sweet concoction! Thank you, Savory!

This is a nice little hidden gem! I’ve been here a few times now. I noticed that when I come closer to when they open during the week, I can order and sit wherever I want. If you’re heading here after church than prepare for the wait! I always order the half chicken, lumpias, and garlic rice! If I’m super hungry I’ll add the spam! This time I ordered the hot malasadas!!! Mmmmmm… oooooh sooooo good! To me, it reminds me of big fluffy soft donut holes! Yummy! Since I always come when they’re open or close to it… I have had super delicious hot food! The chicken is cooked to perfection… falls right off the bone! My lumpias are great! I have Asian blood in me so I LOVE all kinds of different rice dishes! Super nice people. Small place but efficient and clean! I love that they have a trash can but also have a recycling bin, too!

Extremely delicious. I am not a huge fan of Filipino food but I am always down to try any spot that is recommended by a friend and has four stars on Unilocal. Their customer service is above average than your usual expectations of an Asian mom and pop shop.(Although they are extending their business, idk if it’s still considered mom and pop). The girls are really nice and the food are made pretty quickly. About a 5 – 10 minute wait. My boyfriend and I ordered ½ a fried chicken each. I got it with the Java rice and the longanisa while my boyfriend got it with spaghetti and a side order of 4 longanisa. The chicken, at first bite, was amazing! It was crispy, juicy, and not greasy. The Java rice was really good! It was kind of salty but the good kind of salty. And the sausages were delicious as well. Not too sweet and not too salty. The spaghetti was sweet but not too sweet like homemade Filipino spaghetti. It was okay. Each plate came with a side of gravy and rolls. I didn’t find it necessary because the food was already fulfilling but it is a nice touch. For dessert, we have ube and mango ice cream. I ate about half the cup and i usually never dig into dessert unless it’s fruits. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right. The best part is that I didn’t feel sluggish after eating all of that. I felt satisfied and full of energy. Good job Savory Chicken. I’ll be back soon!

I came here with a group 5 on a Friday night, we were lucky because we got there right before the crowd. I quickly decided what I wanted to order with the help of the cashier. I got 3 items to share with my sister and cousin because we all wanted to try a little bit of everything. What I order: Half Fried Chicken with 4 pieces of pork Lumpia and white rice 4⁄5 $ 7.75 When I’m thinking about fried chicken I’m thinking it’s battered up deep fried KFC style. The fried chicken didn’t really taste like what I’m used to, but I still enjoyed it since my chicken wasn’t dry and it was flavorful, the gravy that it came with helped the chicken taste a lot more better. I enjoy the fact that it wasn’t greasy and it was tasty plus I didn’t feel guilty eating their fried chicken. The pork lumpia was good, maybe one of the best I had ever had. It was crispy and addicting, the white rice could be a little bit more moist but overall I was happy with this combo. Half Grilled Chicken with 2 Longanisa and Java rice 4.5÷5 $ 7.75 I actually like the grill chicken more than the fried chicken. It was very moist and it had a lot more flavor than the fried chicken, It didn’t need the gravy like the fried chicken did. If I had to pick either the fried or grilled I’ll definitely order the grilled chicken instead. The longanisa was tasty and sweet, two pieces was enough for that combo because of the sweetness. The java rice was way more tastier and moist then the white rice. So I think I’ll be ordering the java rice for now on with my future combos. Pancit Palabok 4⁄5 $ 5.25 Okay, this is definitely different but it was good. Clear noodles on the bottom topped with a gravy kind of sauce with what I believe was some grounded dried shrimp on top with three slices of boiled eggs and green onions. With this dish they give you about 2 package of lemon juice. I tried it without the lemon juice and it was okay. But once you pour in the lemon juice and mix it up, it tasted ten times better. I would definitely order this dish again. I saw on Unilocal there was french fries dish called Chicken Sisig Fries that I didn’t see on the menu but I’ll be sure to try that next time because that looked so freakin good! Service: The girls at the counter was very nice and helpful. The restaurant itself wasn’t that big. But it was clean, and tables weren’t crammed together. Parking was super easy to find. Overall I’m a fan and I’ll be back to tried their other yummy food! I can’t believe it took me over 2 years to tried this place, that’s because it’s pretty far from me. But I’ll be back, because I wanted to try their fries and their halo halo dessert!

Came right when they opened, and it got busy fast. I ordered the half fried chicken, with 2 eggs(over easy) and garlic fried rice. The chicken was most and tasted good. The eggs were made perfect, but the garlic fried rice was a little disappointing. It had no flavor and lacked the garlic taste. I also tried the halo halo, and that was good. The halo halo itself was very filling. The service seemed pretty good, though sometimes they brought out your food and other times you had to go and get it. So it was not consistent in that and a little confusing.

DELICIOUS and DEFINITELYSAVORY! This place lives up to its descriptive name haha. Let me just say that I absolutely love fried chicken of all sorts, but this place has its own unique twist on fried chicken. I had it for the first time last week, and I was craving it again so much that I just had it again yesterday. You order at the counter, and your food is brought to you. Both times I went, the staff was very friendly. Their menu has a variety of items, and you can choose between getting ½ chicken or a whole chicken — it comes either fried or grilled. I’ve only had the fried option, and it’s nice because there is no breading on it so the skin is nice and crispy. The meat is also pretty soft, and it was easy to cut through. You can order just the chicken OR get one of their delicious combo plates !! It comes with rice, and there are many side options such as lumpia(chicken or pork), longanisa, spaghetti, or pancit(noodles). The fried chicken also comes with a gravy sauce, and the grilled chicken has its own unique sauce as well. The ½ chicken combo plate is a pretty good size for me, and I can squeeze 1 – 2 meals out of it(depending on how hungry I am that day haha). The wait is about 10 – 15 minutes to get the food, and the place is usually fairly crowded. Even though you order at the counter, there are still tables that you can sit at if you choose to eat there. Glad to have found this lovely location! Also, I noticed that they have a breakfast menu. Will be sure to try it sometime! as well as their dessert: P

I got a Call from my Associate in Elk Grove he needed help with Cleaning some tools of his former trade. So I jumped into my Whip Black Beauty and rolled up to his house. I helped my Associate clean quite a few of his tools and it was time to eat. My Associate knows that I’m a Foodie so he always try’s to find Cool Restaurants with Good food. Savory Fried Chicken was my Associates Suggestion. Savory Fried Chicken is a Filipino restaurant. My associate likes anything Asian, because he has Yellow Fever LOL. So we jumped into my Associates Hemi Whip and rolled to Savory Fried Chicken. Savory Fried Chicken is located in a Low Key Strip mall. There’s Plenty of Parking. So we stashed his Whip and rolled in . Savory Fried Chicken was a Packed House !!! All the Tables were filled and it was standing room only. Luckily a Table freed up which I Grabbed . My Associate placed our order. He is a regular and he is fluent in Tagalog. He ordered 10 Pork Lumpias and 2 Orders of Fried Chicken, Pon-set and SFC Special Rice. And He busted some of his Mack Daddy Rap on the Cashier . 15 Minutes later our order was ready. We rolled to the front counter and grabbed our order and brought it back to the Table. The food is so good at SFC my Associate Hoovered his Food and was done before me. The Chicken was very good, Moist and Tender. The Pon-set was very tasty and had nice chunks of Chinese Sausage. The Rice even had a nice flavor to it . Then my Associate and I went back up and each ordered a Halo –Halo. 10 Minutes later we each had our Halo Halo. SFC makes a great Halo Halo. This is a Must Order –Yummy. Ill definitely return.

Chicken. Who doesn’t like chicken?! I always get the ½ grilled chicken combo with the longanisa and Java rice. It is delicious. Great amount of food that will definitely fill you up. The chicken is moist and soft and I like the dipping sauce with it. They also have fried chicken if you prefer that over grilled. Now if you don’t want the chicken, there are other Filipino dishes to choose from as well. I’ve had the tosilog before and it was also good. Today we also ordered the buko pandan dessert and was told that they didn’t have any after we paid and asked if we wanted halo halo instead or a refund. We decided to get the halo halo and we were not disappointed. They also didn’t charge us extra since it costs more than the puko pandan. Awesome! I’ve been wanting to try their sisig fries for a while, but I’m usually full after eating the chicken. Next time I will definitely have to squeeze some room for that. From other Unilocalers, they said that it usually takes 30 mins to make it so I would suggest calling in advance. Although our chicken took about 20 mins to be ready today.

I was super excited to try this place but it was just okay. Don’t get me wrong it was still good but nothing special imo. Fried chicken has delicious skin! The meat was a little dry and the gravy tries to help. Java rice is much better than white so it’s a must. The lumpia is delicious but their sweet and sour sauce is liquid, not thick at all. We tried their sigsig fries as well. I love the idea of a fried egg on top of it! The fries LOOKED way better than it tasted. It was just a little lackluster, dry chicken mixed with scrambled eggs? I wish it had some more flavor! I really want to come back for their desserts though. There’s not many Filipino restaurants out there so this is definitely a go to if that’s what I’m craving.

As the lunch hour has started today on 7÷30÷2015, I decided to got to this Filipino restaurant called, «Savory Fried Chicken.» Located at this strip mall near Yoshi Japanese restaurant, SFC has it all delivering the best fried chicken meals and drinks to serve. As I entered, the atmosphere is very laid back filled with friendly customers dined there with joy without disappointments. The service is well received as I welcomed there thanks to the friendly greetings messages! I’m ecstatic about this coolest service here, so I have no problems at all! The line format is much similar to Jack’s Urban Eats feel on it although it’s gets faster for ordering from dining in or to go. For the food ordering process, I ordered the fried half chicken with 4 pork lumpias and a scoop of steamed rice. So far, it tasted«muy caliente!» The fried chicken is very crispy and delish to eat without adding crushed bread crumbs or batter mix! It’s very flavorful for this chicken, so it’s a huge hit! The fried lumpias also tasted very good too! The gravy, oh yes, the Filipino made gravy tasted delicious! It taste like homemade turkey gravy which they have been used for Thanksgiving every year! Unbelievable taste for this gravy! There’s a good, ample of parking available, so you don’t have to worry about it at all. There’s also a free, secured wi-fi available which it’s a good addition for this place where you can surf the web or checking your e-mails faster and easier to use. In the end, Savory Fried Chicken is the best Filipino restaurant in the Elk Grove neighborhood! I’ll come back for more! Highly recommend!

Our daughter had just graduated from Pharmacy School. So naturally as proud parents we wanted to celebrate this occasion and have a big party. A «SURPRISEPARTY“at that. Shooooo ! We had to keep this under wraps and work undercover to plan this baby. I felt like agent 007 on a secret mission. Planning a party is very stressful. Especially for my wife who did most of the planning. There are so many little details that have to be taken into consideration. For instance, where to have the party? To have it indoors or outdoors. What is the temperature going to be outside? My wife was watching the future weather forecast daily. Some times it was forecasted to be in the high 90’s(To Hot) and other times it might be in the high 80s(Just Right). Fortunately it was in the low 90s on that day. Whom to invite? Do we need to decorate? Are we having a DJ playing her favorite music? What about a photo booth? Now let’s get to the food! Savory Fried Chicken is a restaurant located in the city of Elk Grove, California. We have been coming here for years. The restaurant is quite small but with ample seating. There is also a flat screen television in the corner for your entertainment. They specialize in authentic Filipino cuisine. We enjoy their deep fried half chicken which is lightly seasoned then deep fried to a golden brown. The skin is crisp and the meat is juicy. They also serve grilled chicken. Both are the«BOMB» We usually like to order their pancit noodles and lumpia with Java rice. So this is what we decided to order for the surprise party. We drove to the restaurant and ordered a tray of grilled chicken, a tray of lumpia, a tray of pancit and a tray of Java rice. They had the food ready exactly on time and we’re kind enough to help me bring the food to the car. Their delicious food and outstanding service is what brings us back time and time again. The party was a «BIGSUCCESS»! Many thanks to Savory Fried Chicken for their fantastic food ! And to all of our friends and family for making this a fun and joyous occasion! Special thank to my Bestie for her hard work in planning the party. This message will self destruct in 10 seconds, 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,(BOOM)
