What can I say? The service is bad and the food sucks. End of story.

Hidden in an innocuous strip mall is this gem of a Mexican restaurant. Delicious food, beer and wine, and warm, friendly staff. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED.

I am writing this because i have called at least 10 times in the last month. I was charged twice for my order back on May 7th. Every time i call the manager isn’t there, and i was told to call back. I’ve left a message and the manager never called back. I also talked to another employee, who said i need to bring in my bank statement. It was your mistake why do i need to go out of my way to get this corrected. I don’t live in Elk Grove.

I enjoy Super Taco. On the west side of Elk Grove, there are fewer Mexican options and this is a good one. Most recently, we’ve come for lunch or breakfast so I really can’t speak to how dinner is or take out. Service has been good every time I’ve gone into eat. The hosts and wait staff is friendly. The food comes out pretty quick. The other day, I got a regular burrito with adovada which is my favorite meat here. It is so so good! Lots of flavor. I got a carnitas taco and the carnitas were crisped on the edges. My husband got asada tacos and he liked them. My daughter got a cheese quesadilla and it was full of cheese. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars is the cost. I wish it was a bit more affordable for the portion size and quality of ingredients.

Customer service is horrible. We have gone here often, we do love the food. But I ordered a to-go tonight and when I picked it up they seemed annoyed and when I brought it home one of my meals was wrong so we took it back and they did little to undo their wrong(I saw them just add what was missing and toss it in the microwave). Didn’t offer anything extra for our trouble, and didn’t even get a fresh meal for their mistake. Needless to say tonight was our last time there.

I’m torn. I want to like them, but they’re making it harder every time. When they first opened, it was a welcoming, personable, and everything was always good. It’s way more hit-and-miss now. We were in the other day, and both food and service were excellent. The issue must be with take-out orders. Whenever getting take-out, whoever is processing the order seems to just be going through the motions. No smiles, or even eye contact. Just price, card, swipe, sign. The last handful of times I’ve ordered take-out, the food wasn’t that well prepared. Let’s take«Super Nachos» for example. I love nachos. Order took around 10m to come out, which is fine. I’m all about waiting whatever it takes for delicious food. I’m home in under 5 minutes, and it’s cold. How is this? Closer inspection shows it was never hot! The chips were stale, the shredded cheese was still in shreds, meat’s cold. What the what? And this wasn’t the first time, but I hate that it’ll probably be the last time.

Let me start by saying that this place is out to go when we can’t cook for dinner. Our boys life this place. It gets busy but the service moves quit quickly. They have warm fresh chips and homemade like salsa. Their portions are huge too. I usually just get one super taco with adovada meat. It taste awesome. They have flat screen tvs if you want to watch sports while enjoying a family night meal. They also accepts any coupons. So if your craving for a taco night with the family head out to super taco.

Was nearby at lunchtime so I thought I would check this spot out. Just a comfortable family style restaurant. The food was good and the service was both good and quick. Definitely worth checking out for a casual lunch

I’ve passed this place practically every day on my way to work and finally tried it yesterday. I came on a super busy Wednesday night and ordered take out. They have a Unilocal check in special for $ 2 off your bill. The entry area where you order and wait for your food is really small. There is only one bench, which was occupied, so the rest of us had to take up bar stools. When you enter, it is really confusing and people trying to get seated at the restaurant queued up to the register, only to find that was for to go orders only. They have signage, but it’s not very obvious. Their kitchen exhaust system is not very good. The kitchen is right behind the register with an open counter. All the smoke from the kitchen goes out into the waiting area. As I waited over 30 minutes for my take out, I was covered in smoke and came out smelling like greasy Mexican food. I wish I could say that the food made up for the inconvenience of waiting that long in a crowded and smoky waiting area, but it did not. The BF got the chicken enchiladas platter and I got the two tacos. I got 1 shredded beef taco and one carne asada taco. The shredded beef taco was good and hearty. The carne asada one was not, The meat was too dry and had chunks of cartilage in it. The BF’s chicken enchiladas were drowned in sauce. He had to scrape it off because it was just too overwhelming. The rice and beans were the biggest disappointments. The rice was dry and crispy and the beans tasted burnt. In the time it took me to wait for this mediocre meal, I could have gone clear across town to La Favorita instead. My bad. Won’t make that mistake again.

They have catered for me & I visit on a regular basis. Great little neighborhood hang out & now that they have a liquor license so the margaritas are fantastic. Lets be real — its Mexican food — lets not get too critical as this place turns out great home style food for a great price. Sit down relax, get a pitcher of Pacifico and pig out. Hate saying this Muy Bueno — really — everything is authentic and outstanding. What does this gringo know though!!!

Last month, my husband and I were in the area and he wanted to try out this place. A co-worker of his recommended this place, his co-worker lives nearby and comes to this place often. So we went on a Saturday alittle around 12PM. The place is in a small dumpy looking strip mall. Prime parking spots maybe hard to find, hubs parked close to Jack in the Box. The restaurant is at the opposite end of JITB. Outside looks aside, we proceeded into the restaurant. We were seated quickly. We sat at a table with a full view to the TV. I ordered the menudo and hubs ordered a crispy fried shell shredded beef taco beans & rice plate. We also had Mexican Cokes in a bottle, I love those. The chips were ok, they bring them out to you. The self serve salsa bar only had a few choices, and the weirdest thing is that they keep the containers for the salsa by the register instead of at the salsa bar. I enjoyed all the salsas. My fave was the pico. The food came out at an reasonable rate(not super quick). The combo plate came out hot, literally the plate was hot, our server warned us. The menudo was good. I tried all the items on hubs plate. Nothing was memorable, overall the food was ok. Pricing is affordable. Our server was great, he was attentive and personable. If I’m in the area again, I’d be willing to give this place another try and order something different.

Let me start out by saying this Mexican restaurant has a full bar… and GREAT food! Everyone is very nice and helpful. Always fast to get refills and to make sure you have everything you need. Good portion sizes and a ice salsa bar as well. Also, if you have a high school Spanish student, this is one of the authentic restaurants that they can come to for their homework when they have to order in Spanish. All-in-all a great experience!

I’ve only ever ordered take-out here. It’s close to home and tasty. Normal orders for me are the mini tacos and super tacos. I love chorizo tacos, and is good here. Super tacos are full of deliciousness, choice of protein and stuffed with lettuce, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, etc. I’ve also sampled their burritos and tortas. That taco salad looks amazing too. The salsa bar is solid. I usually get at least one of each, more of the hot. I wish the to-go salsa containers were larger! The chips are amazing when fresh. Horchata is always a favorite. Service is good, nothing to complain about. Not too chatty but they don’t seem rude or distant. Prices and portion size is the real winner here though and what keeps me coming back for more. That parking lot is a nightmare!

Ordered 2 of the #3 combo, one Carne Asada, and one carnitas. For drinks I asked for a sample of the jamica, horchata, and pineapple. I ordered the jamica and pineapple. Service was mediocre to none, quick in and our for my to go order. When I got my order, it was nothing compared to the pictures on their menu. The food was not impressive or blew me away on taste. When I got home, I noticed that they gave me the wrong drinks. They gave me the gritty horchata that I didn’t like. I think they were too busy chatting to pay attention. I even double checked my receipt to make sure it does says jamica and pineapple for the drinks. The place is too far and not worth it to drive back to get the right drinks. I probably would not visit this place for food but maybe just for the jamica and pineapple drink. Also, I saw the cook in the back stick my to go Styrofoam containers in the microwave which I was was a big no no for me. I’m assuming he did that to warm up the rice and beans and to melt the cheese on the beans.

Ehh. I actually enjoyed the food. Very large portions, taste good. Guac needs a little salt lol or maybe that’s just me. I got a super burrito(carne asada) combo, super huge! Pretty good! We were there at close and pretty close to the bathrooms, the employee that was cleaning the bathroom used the same rag for EVERYTHING! Sooooo gross. Cleaned and wiped down the whole toilet(under seat, everywhere) then had nerve to use it for the sinks, walls, ect. Great food, but obviously not very sanitary.

When it comes to Mexican restaurants in the Elk Grove area, Your choices are endless. Our favorite hands down is Super Taco Mexican Restaurant. They are in a small shopping center on the corner of Laguna Boulevard and Franklin Boulevard. Today we ordered take-out. I love their pork carnitas Monster Burrito. My wife loves their Chorizo Con Huevo. It’s scrambled eggs mixed with Mexican chorizo sausage. It also comes with Spanish rice and choice of pinto beans or country potatoes. There is a small refreshment bar selling imported beer and soft drinks on the right as you enter the restaurant. To the left of the counter you will find a salsa bar with your choice of Hot to Mild salsas to compliment your meal. There is also a large dining area with plenty of tables and chairs. I can see where the name Monster Burrito came from. They are massive! It takes up the whole container. It usually takes me 2 – 3 days to eat this baby. Using traditional Mexican recipes in their cooking, they have become one of the best Mexican Restaurant in Elk Grove . Parking can be challenging due to it’s small lot. This is for the one star deduction. Do you get sleepy after eating a big meal? Me too! Wake me up in an hour. it’s «SIESTATIME»

I came here on a Saturday night because I was in serious need of Menudo(thanks to my Friday night exploits) Super Taco is the only place that I know serves menudo on Saturday’s. The broth was delicious, not very salty but with enough kick and spice to keep you wanting more. The portion size of tripe and hominy was gratuitous. So much so, that I needed to bring the rest home. The service that we received on this visit was also exceptional. Especially when you consider there was only 2 waiters in a packed restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and being that it is only located around the corner from my girlfriend’s house makes it my go to destination.
