I can’t seem to understand the debate on which is best deep dish. I would hands down endorse Lou Malnatis as the best deep dish. I judge this by the quality if sausage, sauce and crust all which stand out especially the sausage! Definitely get the Chicago classic! Love the flavor, seasoning and bite of the sausage, the crust is crispy and not soggy and sauce is the right amount, sweet and flavorful! Their Lou salad is amazing as well. This location is carry out only but done right on time. Only complaint is they skimp out on red pepper and cheese. Two large deep dish and you only give 1 red pepper and three cheese packets? Otherwise solid spot for best deep dish restaurant.

I used to be a loyal customer but they changed the loyalty program. In order to get the points, you have to order through the app. I could MAKE a pizza in less time than it takes to order. through the app! Sad !

I LOVELOU’S! Every time we order a large, deep dish«Lou», it’s a special occasion at our house. I don’t know what’s going on with Elmhurst’s delivery though! So disappointed. We ordered our large Lou two weeks ago, and a large cheese was delivered on accident. I called the store and the manager was super cool. He apologized and sent us a coupon for a free pizza! Tonight I called and ordered my free Lou. It arrived almost 15 minutes early(yey!), which I was super jazzed about. I brought the pizza inside and opened the lid, ALL of the ingredients were only one half of the pizza. :(the driver must have had it on an angle while driving it to my house. Not the end of the world. My order was correct. The crust was all soggy though because the juices has slid all over the box. I just look forward to ordering Lou’s so much… And I guess I’m holding them to an unrealistic standard.

Don’t do the whole review thing but the manager at this place was awesome I ordered delivery the first night I ordered the Chicago classic pizza. Very good Now for tonight I ordered the pasta it got delivered I was allergic to something in it I called spoke with the manager all I know is she’s an African American lady and she’s great. I talked to her explained everything she said I’ll go back now personally remake your pasta and have it delivered with no charge which was very nice of her and something she did not have to do. Besides the customer service being awesome the food is damn good but NY Pizza all day

We didn’t get a chance to sit down and enjoy a Chicago pizza on our last visit so we grabbed a few frozen half baked pies for home from this carryout location. They have a spinach pizza here too. Joy! We thawed and enjoyed a sausage pizza when we arrived home and boy oh boy was it tasty. Lou Malnati’s for the win!

We’re from CA and often don’t have deep dish. Visiting family here, we wanted some. So good. I don’t need to drone on and on. This pizza is some of the best I’ve had. Get some.

Happiness. Pure happiness. This is probably my favorite deep dish places I’ve ever been to. THEYHAVEGLUTENFREEPIZZA! I am gluten free and so happy they have this option! Prior to my gluten free days, however, we would order The Chicago Classic. It has a SHEET of sausage. LETMEREPEAT: A SHEETOFSAUSAGE. It’s so good. Sausage, cheese and tomato sauce on this amazing butter crust. It is so flaky and buttery. Sooo good. The other one i enjoyed is the Lou! It is a veggie deep dish: spinach, mushrooms l, and slices of tomato on their sinfully delish better crust. Ughhhhh, this pizza will make me eat bread again. We always order from the Elmhurst location. This is only a carryout. But we have had no problems with our order here. And they open the door for you as you leave with your food. Happiness in a box!

Yup, lived up to all of the hype. Even though I come to Chicago several times a year I had yet to try the infamous Lou Malnati’s because my friend prefers their competitor’s more. But we decided to eat outside the pizza box and take the Louie plunge. Our garlic, spinach and sausage pizza was just perfection. Huge chunks of actual sausage nestling in a bed of pizza magic. Actual garlic and fresh spinach mixed in to help you to finish up the orgasmic food experience. The crust wasn’t as thick as people always make it out to be. Well, maybe… but the butter crust definitely makes you want to eat the entire slice. I ate 2 slices for dinner. And then 1 slice for my midnight snack and then 1 more for breakfast. I would have had another slice for my second breakfast but it was sadly gone. Whatever, I’ll work it off when I leave again.

Yeah Whatever! I felt kind of bad that I lived in Chicago and didn’t like Deep Dish Pizza. I’ve given it chance after chance. Name the top 10 Chicago spots besides this one and I’ve tried it. When my friend Kaylee suggested I try them out not because she worked at the downtown location, but because they were really good. I said sure, but in my mind I’m like«Yeah. Whatever!» After noticing her on Unilocal and seeing her Unilocal were spot on. I figure maybe she does know what she’s talking about. Ordered the Malnati Chicago Classic Large uncut along with Penne ala Malnati. Also joined their email club and got a free order of hot wings. Pasta 3.5÷5 Needed more sauce but overall good Buffalo Wings 3⁄5 sauce was good nice taste to it/decent size Pizza 10⁄5DAMN So the pizza surprised the hell out of me. When I got it home I was kicking myself like why did I order a large? I think the pizza only lasted 24 hours It was so good I was scared to write a review at first cause the only thing I could think to write was my favorite quote from Clay Davis from The Wire. The sauce taste fresh and seasoned really well. I might actually order extra sauce next time but it’s a nice portion already on it. The lean sausage has a wonderful taste and nice size chunks not the itty bitty pieces that I’ve gotten form other spots. I’ve tried the thin crust pizza and it was baked nice and crispy but still will go with the deep dish overall. The deep dish isn’t as deep as most places I’ve tried where you have to use a fork and knife, I don’t say it in a bad way. I think that is the reason why I overall didn’t like deep dish as it seem more like lasagna on top of pizza crust. I usually don’t notice the butter crust until I get to the edge of the pizza. So not sure if it’s always through or brushed on at the edge. I could be just lost in the sauce heaven and just don’t notice it to I get to the end. No biggie. I usually drop 3 or 4 items on pizza and have just gotten the standard sausage. This is Elmhurst location is delivery/takeout. I kind of wish they had seats on the outside similar to 100 South Chop. Cupcakes of Courage, but no room so I understand. Came in one day and notice they had a large thin crust half cheese, half spinach out for customers to try(It only lasted about 6min) The Oak Park location which you can sit down in is technical closer to me(maybe by 2 min) but will stick to this one as I enjoy the customer service and the amazing great pizza. If I ever move out of Chicago I can actually see flying a pizza or two in.

My first time trying Chicago Deep Dish Pizza I was told to come here. I was not very impressed, it was OK I think my native NY style pizzas I’ve grown a custom to will have to remain as the best pizza. I just can’t shake the amount of sauce and sausage and thick crusts I thought it was too much. I was very open to trying it. But NY Pizza wins this battle for me.

LM: «Lou Malnati’s.» Me: «Yes, I’d like to order a medium deep dish with pineapple and Canadian bacon.» LM: «I’m sorry we don’t have pineapple or Canadian bacon.» Me: …long pause … speechless … did not see that coming …“Uh, okay, how about sausage only.” LM: «Do you want the slab or pieces?» Me: «Pieces.» LM: «Do you want butter crust?» Me: «That’s an option? That sounds awesome!» And … it was. Best deep dish in Elmhurst? So far. BTW — This place is take-out or delivery only. No seating. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Follow me on Unilocal

My first introduction to Chicago deep dish pizza, and it set the bar high! Loved it! The atmosphere is great, the place is in an old house, and there’s lots of local art on the walls. The service is great, it would be easy to «forget» a table, but they never do. Will definitely come back.

The only reason I took away a star is because when I got there I was hoping for a sit down restaurant and it’s a take-out/delivery place. and because they don’t open for lunch. If you’re gluten-free try their pizza. Actually, even if you’re not. You won’t believe it! I’m not gluten-free eater but a friend is and we ordered for her and share. MINDBLOWN! I would’ve never guessed BUT I usually get the Lou’s. IT’s SOGOOD, combination of meats and cheeses. delicious. Rosie. one of their employees. LOVEHER! she’s so sweet and jovial. I feel like she’s an Elmhurst Lou’s staple. Now that we’re getting into the cold weather season, I crave more pizza, comfort food. I’ll be stopping by more often to pick up their frozen pizzas so I can bake any time I want!

Simply best pizza in the world! How many miles does it take to run off a slice? Who cares — it’s amazing! Perfect sauce, perfect toppings, perfect cheese, perfect crust! Yes, one slice is really enough for an average adult(btw I’m above average :)!!

Went here because of the raging reviews about the deep dish pizza… Came here and we ordered the calamari, Chicago style deep dish pizza… I wanted to say the customer service was awesome, the calamari was mediocre it had it at better places… But the deep dish pizza was out of this world, I’ve had deep dish pizza in California but it was not the same… And the lasagna was fantastic… I wish I ordered the lasagna Togo…

This is the Top Deep dish pizza in Chicago. Its better than ginos east and giordanos(stuffed Pizza, but still) for sure. I usually use the carol stream location, but since I am house/dogsitting, I ordered from here on a Saturday evening. I ordered at 8, expecting a hour like the gentleman said. Pizza actually got here in 40 mins! I ordered a small deep dish with extra tomato sauce. I would ding the guy who took my call for giving me an incorrect total, but that’d be mean. Lou Malnati’s is a bit overpriced for my liking(18 bucks including delivery and tip) for just one za? Come ON! he quoted me at 12.48 but didn’t include the other charges. Once again, this is great pizza. Better than Pizzeria Uno. Gino’s East, or any place that claims to have the best deep dish. Please note that Lou Mal’s does Deep Dish/Pan style, not stuffed(GIordano’s and Nancy’s do stuffed). Definitely my favorite Deep Dish place. I prefer stuffed over Deep Dish, but I would highly recommend this place for out of towners to get the chicago experience. I would also like to enlighten them on stuffed vs. deep dish/pan, but we will save that debate for another day.
