Fish Boil: The show was nice, the food quality was great too. But you only get two small pieces of fish and tons of potatoes and onions, and if you ask for more fish, they’ll give you a shifty look as if you are now rubbing them. For the price of a full meal you are basically getting just a taste. I’ve been to other fish boils in door county and they were always happy to fill up your plate again.

First fish boil tonight and not the last! Love this place. From the fresh fish to the cherry pie, you’ll love it. Don’t leave town without going here.

My husband and I had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. Food tasted home cooked. Excellent quality. Fast, friendly, and courteous service. Highly recommend.

Never felt more Midwest than in this restaurant. We came a little before closing time but they had the white fish boil pre fixe menu ready to go for us right away. 4 types of bread, beverage, cherry pie, fish, onions, potatoes, cole slaw… all for $ 20.50? What a steal. Fish was fresh and the cherry pie(locally famous) was perfect — mild not too sweet filling with a sugar coated crust. Everything was delicious and I’d highly recommend this spot if you are in Ephraim.

We had breakfast here this morning and it was delicious. The place is very cute inside and it was very clean. Everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the bus boy was very friendly and kind. We ordered the pancakes(two blueberry and one cherry) and the French toast and the ham and cheese scramble. Everything came out quickly and was well seasoned and prepared. I will be back to try the fish boil sometime. Oh and what a great view of the water, I bet a sunset is beautiful!

Did some research and this place gets things of good reviews. We called ahead and made reservations, and good thing — there was several large groups that night. The fish boil was fun, and the old guy doing the boil had a fun sense of humor and told a lot of fun stories and history facts. After the boil, everyone goes into the dining area in a line and serves themselves buffet style. Everyone gets 2 large pieces of fish, lots of potatoes, onions, salad, and bread. The beverages are only tea, lemonade, milk, water — and would’ve been way better with Coke or Pepsi. Not sure why, but they don’t serve alcohol and this would’ve been excellent with a beer or cocktail. The cherry pie is amazing, and almost the best part of the meal. We were totally shocked at how yummy it tasted — well done! The quality of the food was absolutely the best tasting white fish with hot butter and super cherry pie. The beverage mix was too limited, and the price was kind of steep as far as fish boils go. There are cheaper ones around here, but not sure of the quality. All in all, it’s worth the steep price tag and a fun evening.

We come here for at least one meal whenever we come to visit — usually it is breakfast, and it is always delicious. We have also come for the fish boil — we have had the fish, and the chicken and both were perfect — the ribs looked great too! If you stay for a Fish boil it is a little pricey — but you are paying for the show.

Fantastic fish boil! My husband and I had never been to one before and thoroughly enjoyed it. You arrive about 30 min before your reservation and they do a presentation on the fish boil(how it’s done, history of it and the peninsula, and you watch how it’s done). Then you go inside for a buffet style dinner. The fish was cooked to perfection. They debone the fish for you, which was very nice of them. The coleslaw was even good too(normally I don’t like it at all). We’ll be back for sure. Very friendly servers too.(And for those who don’t like fish, I think they have two other options: ribs or chicken. But don’t quote me on that. Just plan on getting the fish anyway– it was wonderful!)

Great service and a good fish boil. Make sure to eat the onion and taters; I found the fish a little dry but they de-bone it for you at the table, which is really nice. The cherry pie for dessert was primo. I loved the atmosphere and history. The boiler lost some points with a dumb blonde joke but otherwise watching was fun, too.

We tried 5 or 6 other fish boils, and we only go back to Old Post Office now. Their fish is fresh, cooked perfectly, and all the sides are home made and delicious. Their cherry pie is great tasting too. We enjoy the pre-dinner show as well, but primarily we are there for good food, and Old Post Office delivers the best food.

Had breakfast here this morning before heading home. It was attached to our hotel so it seemed like an obvious choice. Waiter wasn’t very friendly, and food was mediocre. Take a pass on this one.

Torch put on an awesome show and gives a great history of Door County during his fish boil. Can’t beat the location for catching a beautiful sunset. The fish was phenomenal and loved the added touch of cherry pie at the end. Also really do a bang up job on the slaw and breads!!!

They closed at 11 or 11:30 and they still let us sit down with a large group. The pancakes were over the top delicious(with cherries) and the eggs were also as good as eggs get. The server and staff were all friendly. I highly recommend this for breakfast in Door County.

Our host has been waiting to come here all year. We all had the chicken or ribs… Because of the bones in the fish. But our host HAD to have the fish boil. His comments«The white fish was fresh. Cherry pie was very good.»

This place may have fond memories for some, but I can’t go along with that. I am a baby boomer, but I felt fairly young in the place. I ordered eggs over easy, but they had no runny yolk. The wheat toast tasted like white toast. Overall it was meh.

Went to their fish boil and it was divine. Fabulous white fish, corn and onions, homemade coleslaw finished off with homemade vanilla ice cream and cherry pie. Owner Tammy was welcoming and server Keith was spot on. I’ll be back!

A historic establishment located along the bay. Outdoor seating allows for a beautiful view of the natural elements, including Door County’s famous sunset. Delicious food at a reasonable price and served by an extremely friendly staff. Earl’s boil instructional provides pre-meal entertainment for patrons. A must-stop for all Door County residents and visitors!

Fabulous place. Great Host. Awesome food !! They just have Fish Boil in diner. You have to usually reserve your table for diner. Be there 20 mins before the reservation to enjoy the fish boil show. Earl is the person who does the fish boil. Its a 15 – 20 mins ENTERTAINING show. The Fish Boil is Awesome. Infact never knew that you boiled fish tasted so awesome. The quantity is just great. Along with the boil fish .you have boiled potatoes, onions, awesome breads and cakes and a drink. I got the lemonade which was awesome… It comes to $ 20 -$ 22 usually per person. Highly recommend this place… Tip: The earlier you book, the better it is. Ask for a table in Patio. The setting sun view is just awesome from the patio.
