Wonderful restaurant! A «must» when you visit Door County and are looking for a nicer place for dinner. Great steaks and seafood. Full menu with a variety of choices. Beautiful outdoor garden. Great service! Will be back!

The English Inn in Fish Creek is a family favorite of ours. We have been coming here for years. The food is amazing and the service just as good. You must try the Friday night fish fry followed by a cocktail at the bar afterwards. Their ice cream drinks are to die for.

We love the English Inn! It has a very cosy atmosphere and the food is delicious. The spinach salad with their hot dressing is my absolute favorite item on the menu. Their is something for everyone no matter what you feel like having. Can’t wait to go there again!

We came here to celebrate our anniversary. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. If the weather is nice we really recommend the outdoor patio. It is so lovely! They even have pretty space heaters when the weather is cool. We started with Oysters Rockefeller and spinach salad. The Beef Wellington is one of their specialties and with good reason. My husband had the ribs and stuffed shrimp. We shared the crème brulee for dessert. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable.

A classic. This place epitomizes old school Wisconsin supper club, but new additions to their outdoor seating has modernized the atmosphere. I’ve honestly eaten here dozens of times, and have never had a bad experience. Oysters Rockefeller, prime rib, spinach salad. All prepared well and tasty. Staff is consistent as well, giving some of the best service in door county. A must-stop.

We were drawn to eclectic feel of the outside but then the inside was faux old England meets kitsch. We could have overlooked the décor if the food had been exceptional or the prices had been reasonable. There are better places to eat in Door County. Next time we’ll choose to eat at one of those.

We were hungry for steak, so off to the English Inn we go. We’ve been here many times over the years. This time we both choose the Rib Eye Steak. Great flavor, tender and not too fatty. My husband had the cherry salad which was amazing. The bartender makes a mean Manhattan, but his real skills come after your meal with his dessert drinks. Do NOT miss out on a grasshopper. We usually do not do desserts but this is one treat. They also have a beautiful outside seating area. Which they will provide blankets if it’s a bit chilly.

Mixed review for me: Good: I thought the décor was nice and the out door patio was awesome. The bread and my salad pre-meal was good. Our waitress was nice and service was good The sides to my meal were good The just ok: I ordered the duck, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t worth the price. The cocktail list is very small and limited Overall I would say 3.5 stars, I would come back to give it a second chance.

Great drinks. We have stopped here twice for cocktails and always had a great experience. We got the grasshopper and the bartender split it up for us, it was perfect. We also go the cherry cheesecake martini, a crowd favorite as well.

I have spent many-an-evening here with loved ones before. I have had less-than-great experiences with food and had wonderful experiences. The one constant is that I always ENJOYMYSELF. Service is friendly, the bar is great, prices are decent, and the laughter is relentless. It’s a great place in a great area and provides great memories.

I was on a sabbatical to Door County and I stopped here simply to check out the fact that they advertised«live music» on their sign. I am always looking for good venues for my vocal group to perform. I admired the suits of armor outside and the very rustic feel of the place. The inside was reminiscent of actual English inns that I’ve been in and a lovely B and B in Vancouver that I stayed in many years ago. I made inquiries about the live music to only be told that they no longer featured it and that the sign should be taken down. Well, it was very lightly attended for the early afternoon so it seemed reasonable to not hire musicians for a light crowd. I stayed in the comfortable lounge area for a scotch and very much enjoyed the atmosphere, the dark wood, the comfortable leather furniture and the calm. One day I will venture back for a meal and see if the fare matches the atmosphere for comfort.

DONOTWASTEYOUREVENING! Once a premier dining destination in Door County with world class cuisine and service. It used to be one of my favorite spots. The English Inn has deteriorated and become mediocre at best. Overpriced(especially the verbal features), boring menu and horrible service. I would spend the few extra dollars and dine at Alexander’s next door.

After being rudely dismissed at Alexander’s for not having a resv we decided to eat at The English Inn – the ‘Immediate Seating’ light drew us in like moths to a candle. Has every place in DC gone downhill in terms of food quality? Food was completely mediocre and unmemorable accompanied by weak cocktails. I had the beef Wellington which was pretty good except for the scary gelatin like gravy surrounding it. The spinach salad was decent if not drowned in the bacon dressing. I’ll wait another 20 years to try this place again.

Pretty bad. Extremely overpriced for Ponderosa quality. Outdated décor and uncomfortably crowded tables. The bread was extremely white and flavorless, obviously previously frozen and not served warm. All of the salads were sweet and made of iceberg lettuce. Yuck. Wines by the glass were all poor quality. Server could have sold our party an expensive bottle but didn’t know what to recommend. Servers are pleasant and mean well, but confused a few of our orders and entrees did not come out together. Cocktail menu is super cheesy and the bartenders did not even know how to make a classic gin fizz(Tom Colin’s) and so they chose not to serve it rather than looking it up. Ordered an extra dirty martini that wasn’t dirty at all. Crab cakes are soggy and previously frozen, definitely not fresh. Beef Wellington is really not as good as they tell you, I’ve had much better. My only compliments are for the mashed potatoes and an excellent filet mignon. It baffles me why people keep coming here — I’m guessing that once the 70+ supper club crowd phases out, this place will tank if it does not refresh.

I’ve been to The English Inn many times over the last few years. The filet mignon is always tasty and cooked perfectly. A bottle of Blackstone cab is a perfect companion to the filet. The service is always excellent. I like the atmosphere here and find that the price is reasonable for good food. When I’m in Door County, dinner at The English Inn completes my trip.

Great supper club fare. Prime rib and 3 lobster tails was perfectly done, as was the 10 ounce filet. Cherry, spinach, hot bacon salad excellent! Great wine! Not inexpensive. Lovely dinner.

While the restaurant looks very spectacular, the food was a complete and expensive disappointment. The worst spinach salad one can imagine! You might as well spoon out covered with sugar lard! The waitress, however was really nice and attentive, although, it took them a while to to sit us.

The food was great. Loved the clam chowder, Comes in a large bowl. Had the combo entrée with prime rib and king crab legs. Prime rib was good, the crab legs were already opened for me, I love opening them for my self was a little disappointed with that. The butter comes in a dish served over a tea light to keep it warm! My wife had the combo of prime rib and stuffed shrimp. Only 2 stuffed shrimp covered in sauce. Huge side of au gratin potatoes, side of mushrooms(5.00) very good carrots(i agree) very fatty prime rib. Waitress Judy very nice but very slow. brought out our food with other peoples food, next to us. They were here after us and she served them their salad a cold item before giving us our food and waited 5 min before we got ours. Good food courteous but slow service, the elderly couple nest to us even talked to a server they had before and was saying she was slow and wanted to sit in her section next time.
