First visit leaves a mark; And it is not a beauty mark! Summertime looks cozy and welcoming, that’s it! We were seated in the tourist dining room while all the locals sat in the bar/Dining area.(That’s also probably where they actually have an actual grill). We ordered dinner: And it was ok. Yep, just ok. Nothing to write home about. The inside appeared clean, but very unsure as the lights were turned down to scary dim– like going into a horror house lighted area-Dark! Not sure if microwaved food is even a delicacy– maybe only in Wisconsin at this restaurant only. We ordered a hamburger with fries. The fries were totally greasy, as holding it up just sagged and grease dripped. Disgusting. Now has anyone ever eaten snail? Do not eat it here. Why is it on the menu? We ordered our food and five minutes later it came out of the kitchen. NOTGOOD! Apparently, chef Mike Cro Wave was on duty. The menu is quite extravagant and everything made my mouth water. Not going back because it’s all too good to be true! Facts: go to Wisconsin to consume the following only: Cheese, Beer, Fish! Cheese Beer Fish! We survived after our dinner. Waitstaff is pleasant and prolly know everything is noticeably microwaved and pre cooked and just heated. Dont tip on the food-tip on the service –20%! Alcoholic beverages were the best! Would we return? Unfortunately not. I usually do not write bad reviews, but, this place is a warning review. Go if you dare.

Not impressed. We used to love this place. Pretty expensive and the food was only so-so. To top it off the service was quite poor. I’ll put that down to our waitress who was slow to greet us and chatted up patrons at another table after taking our main course dishes and before asking if we wanted dessert. The other waitress brought out the dessert sampler tray to other tables right away, but when we asked our waitress what the choices were, she said«wait» and went to get the sampler tray. She wasn’t done any favors by the kitchen either. My medium rare hamburger was raw inside and my wife’s chili was cold. Upon remaking both dishes they were fine, but not great. We had: Three Sheeps Amber(served in a Leinenkugel’s glass!) Chili Hamburger

Went with two friends last Saturday. We ordered the mussels,(they arrived lukewarm) and we had not been served our wine yet! Wine arrived with the entrees. I had the lobster/crab roll, which was just ok, and my friends shared the walleye dinner, which they enjoyed, but the french fries were limp. Service was horrible. The server was nice enough, but obviously needed more training. She took our drink orders and never brought the drinks until after we had eaten the appetizer. We asked for another plate, and she left to get it and never brought one back. Cute place, will not return.

We had the soup which was really delicious. However we were disappointed in the pot pie we ordered. The crust was flat and soggy.

Stopped in for lunch. The grouper sandwich was fishy tasting and the lobster salad sandwich was ok. The beer was excellent.

Went here with my 6 year old daughter and my mother for lunch. The kids meal was $ 9.99 after adding soggy fries and chocolate milk to her chicken tenders. I had a «medium plate» of 5 crab cakes which sounded like plenty of food, but each was smaller than a golf ball — 1 bite — served over ½ cup of rice for $ 15.99. Mom had a lobster and crab salad billed as a «large» salad. It was 3 lettuce leaves topped with about 1 cup of lobster/crab salad for $ 15.99. After adding non-alcoholic drinks and 2 homemade turtles(they were delicious!) our total bill with tip was $ 66. We all left hungry. Very disappointing.

Came here for lunch. The grouper sandwich was very good. The fries were a little greasy but good. My husband had the lobster/crab roll. He said it was good, but the bun to meat ratio was bad. This place is a little pricey. $ 36 for lunch for two people, no booze. I can see where the bad reviews could happen. I didn’t look on Unilocal before going. I don’t think I would come here again.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have better reviews. My family and I ate here twice last week because the king crab legs were so delicious. They catered great to my multiple food allergies. I had a side salad, baked potato, and crab legs 2 nights in a row. Both meals were by far my favorite while in Door County.

Prison food at criminal prices. It’s rare I feel compelled to write a negative Unilocal review, but that was the case after eating a meal here. My wife and I ate here last night and both couldn’t be more disappointed. I began with an overpriced bowl of French onion soup at the cost of $ 6.75. The size was small and the soup was average. Certainly not worth the cost My wife ordered a 1/3lb cheeseburger at the cost of $ 12.99. The burger was clearly of the frozen variety with a slice of American cheese not even melted on top. Her burger was dry and tasteless, and would be more suited on a $ 3.99 kids menu somewhere. I ordered the Grecian chicken at a cost of $ 17.99. What I was served was a large bowl consisting of a thawed out breast of chicken with minced garlic atop a pile of angel hair pasta drenched in olive oil and lemon juice. The meal was absolutely awful. There is no possible way any kitchen serving food at the prices they do here should have been comfortable sending out that dish. No flavor whatsoever and a complete injustice to Grecian chicken everywhere which should be rich with taste. I have no problem paying for a good meal, but the quality of food at the prices this place was charging was ridiculous. That said, the chicken they served would not be justified at any price. I can comfortably say without even having eaten at any additional places to recommend that there are better places than this to go. Steer clear!

A good little restaurant in Fish Creek. We were looking for a quick dinner stop after a busy day in Door County. I enjoyed a Caesar salad and my husband tried the Asian chicken salad. Both were great and the homemade bread was fresh and delicious. They have a nice kids menu and the kids enjoyed homemade mac n cheese. The building is pretty unique and close to several shops downtown.

I wish I could give zero stars. I’m giving one for the waitress because she was sweet and very attentive but, other than that, wish I could give it zero. Sadly, that was the last place we went before leaving Door County, after so many wonderful food experiences there. I suppose we should have been tipped off by the fact that there was only one other table filled in the entire place and it wasn’t off season. I ordered a reuben, which was greasy, with overly chewy meat and made me sick to my stomach. I realize reubens can be slightly greasy but this was actually beyond the norm, mushy and tasted a bit like fish, like it was cooked in overused oil. My boyfriend ordered what was supposed to be «fish and chips» but amounted to nothing more than what looked like Gorton’s fish sticks(although I think they might have actually tasted better) and tasted FROZEN and undercooked with fries that were damp and limp and again, nasty. From reading the menu, and how many times it gave itself props for having the«best of» something in all the land, you would have thought we would have had the most epic meal we had ever eaten. Instead we felt cheated, like the owner is touting the place to be amazing but cutting corners wherever possible and serving what is tantamount to a meal you would have gotten in a public school cafeteria in the 70s(fish stick Friday, every Friday all through elementary school). They should be ashamed of themselves for the quality of the food, especially given the prices. This restaurant does a great disservice to the rest of the places in the area because anyone who eats there first and judges the rest on that one will have the wrong impression. Please go to any number of restaurants on the main strip and you won’t be sorry!

Down to a 2 star… Been coming here as a traditional stop for 30 yrs. But the prices are getting too high and the Portions are getting so much smaller. Disappointed.

Calamari was really good, the breading tasted amazing. The rolls were great too. Waitress was attentive and I never had an empty water glass. Greek Lemon Chicken was not good. Chicken, angel hair pasta, and green beans were sitting in a soup of olive oil and lemon in a bowl. Pasta was incredibly greasy, beans were not good, and everything was way too lemony and oily. I wouldn’t recommend that dish. My boyfriend had the perch fish fry which he enjoyed. Noise level in dining room was pretty loud. Temperature inside was perfect, it was cold outside but I was warm inside in a thin short sleeved sweater.

I really liked the atmosphere of this place. Very cozy on a rainy day. I also really love having our own pot of coffee on the table. My mom got the Belgium waffles and she ate every bite which if you knew my mother, you’d know is a pretty big deal. She eats like a bird. I got the California omelette which was also very good. Big chunks of avocado in the guac. I also got a side of potatoes because I need potatoes when I’m eating eggs. It’s a thing. I would recommend this place for sure if you’re in the area.

Three of us had items from the special menu, 3 bacon wrapped scallops and the wedge salad. Awesome! Other person had the ribs supposedly famous for 25 years. INEDIBLE! They were so incredibly dry and tasteless. Service was good … except we got lunch menus at 5 pm and when we asked for dinner menus we were told the specials menu wasn’t going to be ready for 15 minutes so wd had to wait. Very strange.

Food was ok. Outside seating is very uncomfortable. Service was marginal at best. Draft beer was horrible so i ordered a mixed drink that was horrible too. Would recommend other places before summertime.

This place is decent place to eat at. I can’t say the food is exceptional but it has always been very good. I tend to like my dining experience more in the summer when we can eat outside.

Like the reviewer below, we were also totally stunned by how bad this restaurant was, and talked about Gordon Ramsey coming out from behind one of the doors to exclaim, «THISFISHWASFROZEN!» Anyway, the«whitefish amandine» is previously frozen fish that’s overlooked and rubbery, with stale sliced almonds from the grocery store sprinkled on top. The sauce on the mushroom ravioli is lumpy and gray, and is thickened not with Brie as the menu says but with plain flour… Think southern biscuit gravy mixed with cream of mushroom soup. However, if you WANT to sit in plastic lawn chairs and eat this stuff on YOUR next vacation, then have we got the place for you!

We stopped here randomly as we were exploring Fish Creek. We had a great experience and a very friendly waiter. Hubby had a great grouper sandwich, I had a cheeseburger and daughter had fish & chips. Everything was tasty. Outdoor patio is nice. We would go back.

This place was a real pleasure. Quiet, clean and just slightly off the main drag. Service and food were excellent.
