We started our experience at 6:30 this evening for a table of 3. They did not honor our reservations promptly, waited 20 minutes… Although our waitress seemed nice, service was VERY slow and not attentive… waited over an hour for our food, food is decent but not worth the price. Took forever to get a second drink(went through our salad course and main course without a drink which is not acceptable), to which I told them to forget the second drink… the time is currently 8:35 and we are waiting for the check we needed to ask another server for. Final thought: I would advise against this place.

Friendly, although not particularly competent service. 80 degree day and it was quite warm in the restaurant. Didn’t feel like the AC was on. Plain old terrible food at high prices. Chicken breast on salad was raw inside and strawberries on another salad were rotten all the way through. Brown slimy edges on lettuce. Cherry ribs were gross with a thick layer of gooey fat and were so over powered by horseradish they were nearly inedible at $ 35. Pasta was over cooked and mushy. Yuck and more yuck.

I’m glad we walked over and looked at the menu and only chose to eat here for lunch. This was going to be our nice dinner meal while we were on our trip and we decided to eat at the cookery for dinner and here for lunch instead. This place has a fabulous location and a beautiful upper deck/atmosphere. The only problem… the prices were way too high for the quality they are putting out and portions were kinda sad. I’m mad I never took pictures of the food. The burger was not done medium and was the size of a McDonald’s cheeseburger. The flavor was nothing special. The fries were like triple deep fried and just okay. The buffalo nachos my boyfriend and I shared was super cold when we got it. Our drinks were really the only good thing about the meal. I’m not even the pickiest of eaters and I would way rather write good reviews over bad ones, but this place needs to step up the food or lower the prices for that quality. You have such a beautiful restaurant the food needs to be on that level. The cookery put this place to shame sadly. Don’t think we will be returning.

Overprice and the staff was not attentive. It seemed like they had a party going over at the bar with the bartenders and wait staff. Food was good. I ordered the lamb gnocchi but it was overpriced and no soup or salad for what I paid. There are many other better restaurants in town.

We saw many sign for the Gin Joint on our way to Fish. Creek and decided to stop in. They just came out with a new menu. The crab cakes were very good. My husband had the White fish fry. He said it was awesome. The fish are caught right in the bay. The beer was a micro brew. I enjoyed the cherry flavored(just a hint of Cherry not sweet). Anthony and Ken were very attentive. We will be back on our next trip!

Came here to watch the hockey game. We sat at the bar and had shipwrecked brewering company beer which is delicious! I had the bison burger. I ordered it medium and it came pretty pink and absolutely delicious. I had sweet potatoe fries with it that complimented it nicely. My date had the soup of the day crab and corn chowder and it was delicious. The bartenders are very friendly and engaging. It very nice experience.

Because, I very much wanted a cocktail and pie. Everyone told me door county meant cherry pie. Cherry jam. Cherry wine. Cherry vodka. Cheery cherry everything. So we went multiple places– fine, oh yes, nice places full of families, enthusiastic drinking(beer) and charm. But…no cherry pie. One place which involved classic literature and thousand piece puzzle… Another with epic wait for pizza surrounded by screeching children… And you have been there dear Unilocalster, where you have a late overwhelming craving unsatisfied… So here we went, our third stop of the evening. No screaming children. No lines. No wait. The most delightful staff, eager and gracious. And the cherry pie was divine: Thin, crisp crust(made with a touch of cornmeal) glistening with butter and golden as a sunrise, filled with juicy, sweet, lush, ruby cherries, almost fleshy in rich texture. I didn’t share. Boyfriend knew better than to ask. It was prefect in every bite, every scent, any angle you viewed it, rapturously flavorful. Sometimes you order cherry and get a syrupy mess, reminiscent of the medicinal cough syrup your mother force-fed you when sick. This was the opposite of that. The colors, the texture contrasts, the smell, the flavor all romantically divine. There are cocktails that compliment this magnificent ideal wonder of pastry… I had two. This means my coherence right now is nothing short of miraculous. Gin, balsamic, black pepper and a chilled martini glass? Order two. Because after the first you kinda wish you held back but after the second you forget what regret is and are in the throes of overwhelming joy at the beautiful flavors. Bright, spicy, satisfying every way. Go here. Order the pie and cocktails. Please. And by all means– look up the chef online. Total fox. I did not get to meet but wow.

This restaurant is located in Door County. We usually stop here for a drink when we take our day trip to Door County. This place is kind of confusing. They have seating outside, upstairs outside and then inside as well. I think it is all one restaurant. We went in October and it was a very busy weekend. I think there was a festival going on that weekend but it was our only time to go. We had about 10 people so when we checked in with the hostess, she said it would be a really long wait so we should go inside. We were kind of confused if we just sat ourselves or put ourselves on the list. We just went inside and sat down at a big table. I saw them seating people but like I said we were confused. Our server was very friendly, he didn’t mind that we sat ourselves and brought us menus right away. We all ordered drinks and had a few appetizers. I ordered a glass of wine, which I thought was great because it was from the winery down the street. We ordered a few appetizers, one being a soup, that was cold but the rest were nice and hot. I think its a good spot to stop and have a drink. The food items looked really good but really expensive. Its a nice place and I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Visited at the end of the season. Late October. Bartender was VERY unfriendly. Pushed our emptys to the end of the bar to signify that we would like more. Bartender blatantly walked passed us several times before rudely asking«you guys good». This happened several times throughout the night. We would have went elsewhere if there was another bar that was actually open.

The disconnect between the name and the ambiance could not be greater at Junipers Gin Joint. The décor is beige retro 70’s, the atmosphere is late Sports Bar, and the staff loud and disorganized. Food was fair, nothing special. There are better choices in Fish Creek.

Came for dinner and left very full. We had the chicken risotto and gnocchi. Both were tasty and big portions. We also had the fried onion appetizer and that could be passed on — def not worth the 10 dollars. Nice atmosphere and a friendly staff

Visiting family from out of state, we took a trip from Appleton to see Lake Michigan. During the trip we stopped in here for a lunch. The fried cheese was delicious. My Reuben was tasty and a lot of food. Had to take half home. Overall we’re very happy with our lunch here and we recommend giving it a try.

My wife and I went to dinner here and thought that this restaurant was good, not great. We had a good spinach and artichoke dip appetizer, it had a good amount of spinach and artichoke, but was missing salt and that is easily fixed. The wife for dinner had the meatloaf, it was flavorless, with the exception of the large amount of sweet ketchup on top of what seemed to be a thick hamburger patty. The mashed potatoes were good though. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection, so I was very happy with that and enjoyed some well prepared asparagus. The martini was good and strong. Overall, it was a good experience and when back in the future we will stop here again.

Walking in, I thought the place looked pretty neat. It wasn’t too busy and a lot of tables were being cleared when we arrived. Our waitresses was very nice and that’s all the nice stuff I can say. It took over 10 minutes to get our drinks(standard pops or waters). We ordered our food then watched as others came in, sat, ordered and received their food well before we did. This happened for 4 other tables. They weren’t there food the soup either-actual meals. When mine came, finally, I took a bite of my big pretzel burger. There was no flavor. It was actually bitter because the tomato slice wasn’t anywhere near ripe. The burger meat itself was a very overcooked, unflavored, thin patty. I was extremely unimpressed. Even the bun was flavorless! The fries had a great consistency but were also lacking flavor. I took a picture of the burger so you could compare it to the one I had later that night. It was about the size of a McDonald’s 99 cent burger except tasted bad. Overall, the consensus among the group was a poor one for this restaurant(primarily the wait time, price $$$ and taste). I will probably never come here again.

I’ve never tried the food BUT the drinks and the staff are great! My guess is the owners read these reviews and tried to improve some things… overall from my experience, it’s a nice place to get a few beverages if you are looking for something quick and refreshing

2.5 = 3 Far overpriced. Nikki, our charming and informative, overworked waitress receives an easy 4+ stars; a lovely person. Food? 2.5 stars, barely attaining mediocrity Spinach and artichoke dip, 2.5 stars(***), tortilla chips from a bag, 2 stars; Amish chicken was a tiny portion for $ 23.00, more a tasty, overpriced Amish pigeon: 2 stars; Vodka pasta was fine, edible and a good sized portion, 3 stars; Gin cocktails, their purported specialty? 2 stars, mild to weak and at New York City prices; Atmosphere outdoors on deck? 3 to 3.5 stars(3.25) Overall: 2.5 stars at best, not including Nikki, who is too good for this place. Very friendly staff, and good bartending. I just ordered a near beer, and my husband got a brandy slush and their fried veggies which came with a crisp and tart lemon aioli. Perfect spot to grab a cocktail and afternoon snack!

Skip this spot. The giant portions of food are bland and overpriced. The cocktails are weak. The best thing was the whipped garlic butter on a plain roll.
