We live right down the street. We were walking a poodle near the restaurant. The owner came over and said that dogs are not allowed on the street or near his restaurant. He was very rude and thought his shit does not stink. It does along with his food. I was willing to try it again but I know why the food is bad. Owners attitude and food match

Our party was huge– of about 13 people and there was only one waitress and she remembered everyone’s order even though we all ordered and paid first before sitting down. The portions were huge and the food was great. I ordered the udon combo and it was exactly what I wanted because its hard for me to find a udon that I liked. Again, the service was amazing. She was so nice and had so much patience with us, she even remembered to bring out extra sauces for people even though she had another 8 orders to take care of. From the outside it might look a little shady, but it was a great experience. I would definitely be coming back.

I work across the street and was recently introduced to their tempura vegetables by a coworker. It was so good I went back the next day for more. So yummy, perfectly crispy and good dipping sauce. I placed a take out order. I waited about 10 – 15 minutes after I ordered, which seemed like a while to throw a few veggies in the fryer. However, there were several tables of lunch diners there before me being served their food, so I didn’t feel the wait was a problem. There were simply orders ahead of mine and I had to wait my turn. The price is great at $ 4.95 for 6 large pieces! Friendly staff.

The teriyaki chicken and rice thing was like $ 3 or something for a lot of food. Ate it almost 3x a week sophomore year. Made me pretty fat, but cheap and good. Don’t forget to load up on the sauces before you leave if you get it to go, they got the good type of sauces.

No SUBSTITUTIONS! No SOUPFORYOU! LOL Ok so the miso soup is ok good even for $ 1.00 The katsu was good, rice is bland and they do not offer substitutions. Hubby loved the salmon, the teriyaki was good. Best — Fried Pot Stickers!!! Salad does come with the meals so if you get it to go and have to go far it gets soggy otherwise it’s a great place. I also like Jail!

Very poor. Chicken noodle came with no chicken at all. The staff is ok, but the food is everything like instant food. Not worth your 8 dollars.

Miso seems like a great idea at first glance. It is conveniently located near The University of Oregon’s campus and is relatively cheap, for a sushi bar. For sushi fiends, that should be an indicator that the sushi is not going to be spectacular and you probably will not see sashimi on the menu. I will admit I have frequented Miso a few times at late hours when I have had my frequent sushi cravings and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I have always opted for their spicy poke salad which essentially is not superb raw tuna seasoned with mild spicy sauce on top of iceberg lettuce with miso dressing. It is one of their more expensive dishes and unfortunately for the cost of it, the portion is disappointingly small. I have also ordered their seaweed salad which is also nothing special and again, small. In terms of sushi, I have always gotten their spicy tuna roll which is also underwhelming and not as flavor-packed as many of the other spicy tuna rolls I have sampled. I have to lay on the wasabi in order to give it more of an adequate flavor. Miso also offers a variety of bento box options as well as classic udon soups and teriyaki dishes, all of which are featured on their wall accompanied with pictures. Upon arrival, you order on the spot. Menus are laid out on the counter for you to browse. I have found that some of the items are not featured on the counter menu, so be sure to ask the cashier. I would suggest taking the meal to go, the wait time is usually a good 25 minutes. Luckily, the cashiers are always very sweet. Dinner time seems to be the busiest so if you are someone that prefers to eat in restaurants, I would swing by during the lunch hours, there is more seating variety and the service is a bit quicker. While the dining experience is not great here, when you’re craving a convenient and cheap meal of sushi, desperate times call for desperate measures.

I experienced very rude attitude from this one Indian lady who was working at the front counter. I ordered shrimp tempura rolls and 5th avenue rolls to go. I realized it was not what I ordered when I got home(after a long walk) so I called to let them know. The lady picked up the phone, and said I would have to bring them back to make her believe that they made a mistake. Did she ever apologize? No. And she made sure I bring them soon for no reason. Is that the kind of attitude you expect from a restaurant when they make a mistake? No. They need to train their staff members better.

This is a great place to grab a quick and affordable sushi snack between classes. They offer free tea and a J-pop sort of environment. It feels like they’re working some of their kinks out still — it doesn’t feel fully professional — but for a place catering to cashpoor college students it’s a great find. Of course, most of the meat is sourced from environmentally exploitative processes, so I would only recommend the seafood and fish, which have always tasted fairly fresh.

Very reasonable prices for good portions. The sushi isn’t the best, but it’s not bad. I usually get 6 pieces of the California Rolls and 6 pieces of the Philly Rolls and it comes to about ten dollars. In my opinion, that’s a really good price to pay to get full on sushi. :) They have bento boxes for those of you who are SUPER hungry(comes with sushi, meat, rice, and other little side dishes all in one meal). I definitely suggest trying one of these! They used to have these canned Japanese drinks you could buy that were fruity, milky sodas. Sooo yummy! I would get the strawberry one and it was the best thing ever! Last time I went, they didn’t have any so hopefully they didn’t decide to get rid of them. :( It’s not going to be the best Asian food in town by any means, but the prices are good and I’m never disappointed with it. When I’m in the mood for sushi it satisfies my craving.

Lousy overpriced sushi with a fast food ambiance. A surprising amount of traffic — all of them ordering the heaping stir fry combos. I should have gone that route too, my sushi was a true falling apart disappointment and the potstickers my daughter ordered were tempura’d and cold. Nasty. I won’t be back to find out what I missed.

To My Annoying Roommate, You ate my Miso lunch AGAIN! You know how I always call-in my orders because it’s a good portion for dinner. I would eat there more often if I knew you were going to be eating my food. I like eating there cause there is really nice lighting and it’s hardly every completely full to where I won’t get a seat, the only thing is that I have to bus my own table. I’m so mad that you ate my combo with Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teriyaki. You know I always get it cause I like the sushi that it comes with. Everything for most part is under $ 10, so either pay me back or buy me another one. Even though it’s not the best Japanese food I’ve ever ate, I like it cause its so close to campus and it’s relatively cheap. Yours Truly, kaibemi buks

The food is delicious, if you know what to order. Their chicken katsu is really good and they do pretty well at deep fried sushi. They are cheap enough. They are on the pricey side, but you get a lot of food. My favorite meal costs $ 9 but it contains chicken katsu, spicy chicken, 5 piece sushi roll, 2 scoops or rice, and choice of salad or vegetables. Big meal. It’s the most descent sushi i’ve found in Eugene. I used to work at a sushi restaurant, I know my sushi. It’s also the closest«Asian-Hawaii local» food around Eugene. The managers are stingy. Only 1 refill for soda and not very welcoming in the customer service department. Not bad, but not the best. There was one cashier that worked there; complete dunce. Blind to the uneducated Asian foodie, this place may not be special. However, to me, it’s one of the best tasting restaurants in Eugene.

I ate here once right before I moved back to Seattle. There wasn’t anyone in the restaurant and my friend and I ate outside on the patio, which was the nicest part. This place is average and I would venture to say has good chicken teriyaki(not great… just average). I’ve also had the sushi there and that was okay but nothing real special. If you want good sushi in Eugene head over to Izumi, which has quality food and service. There’s no need to drive to Portland for sushi as long as Izumi is in town.

I love Miso for what it is — a great cheap meal. It’s strong point is not the sushi, though the sushi is OK.(I like the Eugene Roll, which features unagi & avocado. Spicy Tuna is also quite decent.) The real treasure of Miso is the other stir-fried dishes. I love the beef teriyaki plate(main + rice & salad or steamed veggies) & the seaweed salad, especially. The meat is really thinly sliced and tender with a nice sauce & if you like extra, they have it in bottles to add your own extra. The orange chicken is good too — they make their own sauce from scratch for each order. Once I went to order more sauce partway through my meal and they made up an extra serving right then, for free. I think the quality of the sauces, meat, and veggies is a bit higher than some of the other cheap eateries around campus. The counter staff are friendly and helpful. You have to get your own silverware and sauces & bus your table, like many of the campus places, but they bring your food and drinks out to you. One boon to this is you can help yourself to free pickled ginger to snack on before your meal comes, whether or not you order any sushi. They also have great deals on happy hour Sapporo on tap. Two people can have a really tasty fresh meal & beers for under $ 20. They are open until 10pm most nights.

WILLNOT be coming back here. Sushi quality was terrible, the restaurant was dirty and the utensils/dishes were ultra-cheap. It felt like eating at a really bad food cart, inside. And for the price we’d rather go anywhere else in town.

Went here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Sushi rolls were fine if limited in selection or diversity. Quality was not amazing but not horrible either. The service was DIY, order at the counter and seat yourself, get your own water and utensils, pretty typical of campus spots. Price was good and portions large so hard to ding them for that. I would come back here for lunch or quick dinner.

I would never expect and it is true that there isn’t any good restaurant around campus. Miso is cheap, much larger portion than Sakura. Quality-wise, both Miso and Sakura are pretty low that it makes no difference for me. If you want good Japanese food, there is none in Eugene. Go to Portland maybe or Seattle for sure. For a simple meal, I’d go to Miso. Order a combo and eat half there and half to-go for lunch next day. All for less than $ 10. If you do order the combo, opt for salad instead of the steamed vegi.

Despite the low low prices I prefer to eat food that makes my taste buds dance. I would rather spend a few more dollars on food that actually taste good. Call me crazy, but I don’t think quality food is hard to ask for. Their menu is meager. I was disappointed to say the least. I should have known then after glancing at the menu that I should have turned back. The chicken katsu sauce is too sweet in my opinion. The reason I’m giving Miso two stars is because of the generous portions. Too much for a small girl like myself, but the right amount for a hearty man. Don’t even get me started on the sushi. I ordered the house roll and the rice was falling off of the seaweed. UGH. amateur. If you want QUALITY Japanese food on campus I suggest your book it over to Sakura. They have excellent breakfast
