Had high hopes for this place, because of the reviews. The sushi looked good when it arrived, but it the fish didn’t seem fresh. I couldn’t even cut one of them — it was so rubbery. The service was friendly, but slow. We had to cancel an order for salad, because we were done with everything and it still had not arrived.

Outstanding sashimi plate. Quality of the fish was top notch. Service was prompt and attentive. Partner had calamari and spicy roll. She loved it too.

Hands down the most FABULOUS sushi in Eugene. The fresh fish, exotic rice, & overall ambiance of the restaurant is a 5(10, if I could rate higher). I would highly recommend tourists(or anyone for that matter) to this sushi experience than any other.

Our first time at Sushi Pure, won’t be our last! We had a great time, I always ask for the waiters recommendation(I mean they know whats good!) So he said the Spartan Roll was good, it was our fave! And the Oregon Dragon(it was giant!) The house Sake was also great. Other rolls we got were good as well(Spider roll and one with seaweed topping, I cant remember the name) so excited for our next date night!

Been scouting out for a sushi place that serves lunch, so I headed over to Sushi Pure to check it out. The sushi was great, staff friendly, atmosphere pleasant, and the price was extremely reasonable. The Sushi lunch special is an amazing deal that includes a Chef’s special roll and your choice of several roles that run from $ 10-$ 13. I can’t tell you what the special was other than it had cooked fish on top and a wonderful sauce. Generously sized, complex, and flavorful. They use their own combination of sticky and black rice — Sushi Pure’s signature. It really adds an extra unique dimension to the sushi experience. I chose the California roll to accompany it, which was fine, but it is a simple roll that could not hold its own against the Chef’s choice(what was I thinking?). In the future, I think I would go for the spicy tuna. My spouse is not a sushi fan, so a solo trip out to lunch is a treat for me. I will definitely be back. Sushi Pure hits the sweet spot for flavor, quality, innovation, and price.

Warm lighting, super friendly servers, a most unique menu, and awesome sushi are just a few of the qualities that make Sushi Pure the best sushi restaurant in Eugene. Our taste buds were anticipating a great lunch and you did not disappoint. Choosing what to order can be a difficult decision when everything on the menu looks interesting. Started our lunch adventure with a delightful cup of miso soup. It’s warm soothing flavor was just right for a cool Eugene afternoon. We went with the Chefs Special spicy tuna rolls, which were amazing and full of flavorful tuna. The yellowtail sashimi melted in our mouths. Slices were the best we’ve ever had. And we also choose a Vegi Futo Maki roll, which was new to us. The rice on the rolls is a most interesting shade of purple. We asked and were told its made with some black rice which when mixed with the white, makes for a interesting color, lending an artistic flare. The Vegi roll consisted of mountain burdock, shiitake mushrooms, asparagus, pickled daikon radish, avocado and green onion all rolled into nori. It was a beautiful presentation as well as a delish roll! Highly recommend this restaurant when you’re in the area seeking great sushi.

I LOVED the food here. I was a little surprised when I found out they used purple rice for the sushi rolls but it tasted just as great! The flavor was perfect and the presentation was a nice touch. Definitely coming back here again!

We’ve seen this place get busier over the years and it’s no surprise as to why. Tucked away in the back of 5th street market this restaurant is a hidden gem. My wife and I love the atmosphere, the fish is the freshest in town, and the service is superb. If you love sushi, Sushi pure is is a must.

I seriously still love this place. It’s so hard to figure out what to order because everything I have has has been fresh and amazing. Recently tried their calamari and it’s seriously the best in town. I tried to go somewhere else for sushi last night and we walked in, changed our minds and walked out to go to pure. I seriously. Don’t want to go anywhere else now!

Oh Sushi Pure, you’re truly one of the best sushi joints I’ve ever eaten at, but my love for you isn’t the same anymore.(But you still deserve 4 stars!) My boyfriend and I dined in on Sunday since he was visiting Oregon for his spring break and we ordered a bunch of rolls like Cupid’s Arrow, a spicy tuna roll, and some other special rolls along with miso soup. Like always, we asked for no avocado since I’m allergic to it, which I explicitly said! The wait for the rolls was be a bit long seeing how busy they were, but it was worth the wait! None of rolls came out with avocado, but I guess there was some sort of cross contamination and guess who ended up needing an antihistamine to calm their throat and lips down? Me! Even though I wasn’t able to eat a lot more of the food due to the itchiness in my throat and mouth, my boyfriend enjoyed the good variety that this place offered in its rolls! Aside from that entire allergic reaction, we enjoyed the rolls we ordered and the miso soup. Cupid’s Arrow is still my favorite!

I like this place, much more than I used to. It was always good for innovative cocktails, thanks to two great bartenders who cared for such things. But the food never impressed. Maybe I was wrong, or maybe it’s better. I usually get sashimi instead of the sushi and rolls which seem to be their specialty. But it’s always very good; sometimes the sashimi portions seem a little small for the price but that’s a quibble. What I LOVE about this place is the«Tokyo Bar» ambience they’ve created in the sushi bar area. Large red lanterns, great lighting and dark wood. I lived in Tokyo 3 years, and it takes me back in a really nice way. Kudos!

Favorite sushi restaurant in Eugene. It is a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. My bf and I shared the Oregon Dragon roll and although it was larger for one person, it was perfect to split between two. Very satisfied!

Went here for a friend’s birthday. I think we pissed off our waitress, because the number of the party kept shrinking. Anyway, I didn’t eat much but the black rice was tasty. The staff weren’t super nice and just took away my plates without asking, etc. But then again, it could have been because of my friend’s flaky friends.

I’m not embarrassed to say I’ve been here twice in one week. I’ve tried a variety of items and am always impressed. My friends from Hawaii were also impressed which is saying something since they are used to very fresh and authentic sushi/sashimi. Pure’s drinks are great too; if you’re a Whiskey fan the Japanese Girlfriend is delish!

Ahhhh finally! Why did it take me so long to try this place?! I have been going to Izumi for quite some time, and while I enjoy the food enough and it’s right around the corner from my house, the service always disappoints me. I typically only sit in the lounge and every person who had served me has given a «what do you want?» unfriendly demeanor. Tonight, I decided to branch out and try somewhere new. First of all, the location is amazing. The 5th street market is beautiful. Second, the cocktails were awesome. I loved the variety. We tried The Zero. Which was basically a take on a French 75. I intended on trying a couple different cocktails but this one stole my heart and I couldn’t stop ordering it! For dinner we ordered a bunch of different stuff at different times. We started with the pork gyoza and soft shell crab. Both guilty pleasures of my boyfriend and I. Both dishes were amazing, especially the crab. After that we ordered two rolls(after spending 20 minutes trying to decide which ones to get!) It was a tough choice but first we got the Spicy California… A little basic, I know. But it was delicious with the perfect amount of spice. Then we got the coliseum. Lobster tempura on top of snow crab. Ah-maze-ing! It came with 8 pieces and I could have ate 20. The lobster was so tender and perfectly fried. After we ate all that, we decided hell, let’s just get an entrée for fun. We got chicken yakisoba. Was more dry than others I’ve had but it was still rich and yummy! The best part was our bartender/server, Landen. He was so friendly and personable! He helped us make decisions and really helped make our experience special! Best thing for me with sushi restaurants is someone who knows the menu and has an opinion! It’s so helpful! We will definitely be back!

Might be my favorite sushi restaurant yet. Great service and food. The parking in the lot behind is tough but the restaurant makes it worth the hassle. The ambience is really nice and there is plenty of seating. The sashimi was fresh and tasty. Coming back again soon.

Yum! This will become my go to spot for Sushi in Eugene! I had the Dracula roll, eel nigiri, and the garden rice bowl(the dressing served with it was an unexpected treat). All were fresh and well made. The eel nigiri was delicious with a very generous portion of eel. The Dracula roll was spicy but not overwhelmingly so(a plus for me, I’m not a huge fan of spicy foods). The restaurant is clean and well decorated. The staff are friendly and check back with you often. I can’t wait to go back and try more items.

Visiting Eugene for first time in Many years. I am from NY where we have some of the best food in the world as well as being a true foodie. I stumbled across Sushi pure and was pleasantly surprised. While one previous reviewer mentioned the owners are not Japanese they are Korean, to me this is one of the things I ask but in this case it didn’t matter. I started with a garden salad, the dressing was a little on the sweet side but not bad. Then an order of pork gyoza. Pretty good but we’re not as hot as I like. The dumpling sauce was excellent. Now let’s talk about the sushi, if you know about quality sushi, you know the color will tell you everything. The ahi tuna was a deep red color, salmon nice and pink and ow tail nice white color. I had sushi and this was my first experience with black rice and I enjoyed it. Authentic or not nothing can take away from good quality fresh fish. I like when a sushi joints serve with a nice slice of lemon which was also done here. I ordered a spicy tuna roll which was only ok but when you sushi this fresh there is no need for rolls. I spent a lot of time researching for my Portland, Eugene itinerary and this was the best meal of my trip so far and was not even on my initial itinerary and only came about as a last min option. The service was also great, our waitress was very attentive and eager to please. Back to Portland today, I know where my first stop next I come to Eugene will be.
