The grill section is finally open! Went tonight with a couple that never had Korean food! We ordered three different types of beef, and chicken for the grill. Also different sushi rolls. The tempura plate was delicious. The food was excellent and my favorite was the beef(Marinated ribs). It was thick, juicy, and flavorful. Almost as good as ones you get down in LA! We had a great night of fun and getting stuffed… The owner was gracious and made sure our friends had a wonderful first time Korean food experience. The complimentary dish was a nice touch. Will definitely be back soon. P. s. No pictures of any of the dishes except for dessert… Sorry, we were too busy making pigs of ourselves…

Went in on a Friday night around 7:30 expecting to be packed but walked in and it was dead. Weird, prime dinner time too. Opened the menu and figured out why. Omg. The prices are insane. These guys are going to price themselves right out of Eugene. This might fly in Portland, but not here. Sushi I had was not bad, but not worth the price. Originally went in to get some Korean BBQ but it was so expensive had to settle for 2 sushi rolls instead. Appetizers for $ 10? Eek. Again, this is Eugene, not Portland or a big city. Gave 2 stars for atmosphere.

Very AVERAGE Asian restaurant. Mostly sushi not enough authentic Korean food. If you’re expecting BBQ or good meats don’t go there!(Or even good food) Also, quite over priced though I understand that they have a nice store than most Korean places around Eugene. But up your food game! The staff there aren’t really helpful and does not seem very professional since the presentation of this restaurant looks so amazing. Side note: we did not receive any side dishes! Most authentic Korean places would give free side dishes. I’m not really sure what the deal was.

Hmmm the appearance of the food was good. It looked very pretty, but I don’t recommend going here if you don’t love Korean food. Options are limited for those that have a limited palat. Service was weird we had about 10 people and there was probably a half hour between the first plate and the last plate to the table. That really sucked to be honest. All chop stocks at the table and it’s very difficult to get a fork. The servings were small and the prices were high. Honestly it’s just not for me… Others will like it I’m sure. I won’t be back no offense.

Wow, Grill Town was disappointing. We were hoping for a real Korean BBQ joint, but the«grill» in the name is very deceiving — most of the menu was dedicated to sushi. While there were skewers on the menu, there wasn’t anything I would expect from a real Korean BBQ restaurant. Edamame was $ 6. Talk about overpriced. The Hawaiian Poke was also deceiving — whoever added it to the menu must never have had real Poke in Hawaii. The dish was $ 16 and was basically salad greens and cabbage with a little bit of seaweed salad and tuna thrown in. The tuna was roughly chopped, not diced. And there was so little of it, this should have just been called a salad. The sushi was okay — about standard fare for most sushi joints in town. The problem is there are already a ton of these restaurants around, and Grill Town doesn’t do anything to differentiate itself here. Service was okay, but the waitress forgot to ask us if we wanted to order drinks. Overall, we found Grill Town to be overpriced and not authentic at all. It’s too bad, because a real Korean BBQ experience would have set this place apart from other places in town.

We had sushi and it was on par with other great sushi places in town. The asparagus and garlic appetizer was delicious. Everyone was friendly and service was great. We’ll certainly go back!

Just ate there and had to give a review. Everything was good and presented very well ! Our server was Ryan very attentive but not pushy :) price was good you got a lot of food. The asparagus garlic was delicious. Only draw back why we gave it 4 stars is because they used fake crab on the dish we ordered expected real crab. Would we go again. YES !! Very nice crew of people !! Thank you

Most places in town serving Korean food hedge their bets. They emphasize Japanese over Korean, or they offer something else in addition. Korean foods can be challenging for American tastes, with their piping-hot temperatures and high spice levels. Sushi is mainstream enough that you will bring in plenty of business by offering nigiri and California rolls. It shouldn’t be surprising that this recently opened place does likewise, with a menu split about evenly between Japanese and Korean. It does offer a couple of interesting items, namely yakitori(grilled meat skewers) and Korean barbecue, now the third place in Eugene offering it after Maru and Four Plus 3. I love both of those, so seeing its sign promising to open soon made me bubble with excitement. DLW and I checked it out on its first Friday of business. Quickly it was obvious that the place is still a work in progress. The BBQ tables(gas-fired) were not yet functional, but the hoods for collecting the smoke had been installed. A portable bin rack apparently for employees to store their belongings during their shifts was parked next to the front door. The bathrooms had no toilet paper, not even paper towels(electric hand dryers worked quite well though). The dining room is open and generically nice, with maybe 100 seats including the BBQ area. The kitchen is open and geared toward sushi in the front. On the other side of the door was a very large and beautiful walk-in refrigerator with sake on display, and this was in addition to a fully stocked bar further back. Considering it is next door to a Greyhound station, it is about as classy as you could hope. We chose a selection of items from a four-page menu. Drink menus weren’t offered, but we requested a bottle of soju, and the waiter brought one from the restaurant’s private stash in an ice bucket since it wasn’t chilled. The seafood and green onion pancake was quite large and loaded with squid and veggies, quite tasty but a little oily. Beef skewers were served on a bed of grilled veg with spicy sauce drizzled over them(you can order one of several sauces). The meat was rather chewy but tasted good. Korean chirashi, aka hae dup bap, is one of DLW’s favorite dishes, and this one was beautifully presented and fresh tasting. Bill was a little high for the experience, and the skewers especially seem overpriced. I debated with myself over a star rating, and it was value that finally pushed me to three stars. Once the BBQ tables are functional I’ll have to come back and reassess.
