One of the better Dunkin Donuts around the north side of Chicago. They have plenty of parking since it’s part of the Howard shopping plaza. It’s right on the border of Chicago & Evanston. There donuts are typically fresh and they participate in almost all of the DD promotions like happy hour and except coupons as well. They also have a drive thru as well as most DD’s its also a Baskin Robins as well.

This DD has moved kitty-corner and is now on the southwest corner of Howard and Western.

Why aren’t there any stand-alone Baskin Robbins anymore? That makes me sad. When I was little I used to love getting bribed to be good by my parents with single-scoops of Pralines n’ Cream in a sugar cone. I loved how Baskin Robbins’ smell – the sweet mix of cones and ice cream. When you throw all those donuts in there, it just fucks everthing up.

Dunkin Donuts has been expanding into«crazy» non-donut areas, such as bagels and snooty coffees, to the detriment of it’s core donut constituency. At issue is donut freshness, an area Dunkin Donuts used to excel at but which is now lacking. If you get to the store right after a fresh batch has been brought out, you’ll likely be satisfied, but at times the donuts are so stale they’re almost uneatable. If you’re looking for a late night snack, you’ll have to wait until 6am to get decent donuts. Apparently it’s no longer«time to make the donuts» very often.
