This was a terrible experience. I must say, I’m glad another restaurant will be coming in. The owner was very sarcastic and outright mean. He hovered over us and made snide comments on what we ought to order and was on our case when we didn’t finish. It took a while to even get the menu and service was extremely slow after we ordered and to top it off there was only one other group eating. This was an awful dining experience, I’m sorry to say.

Appears that Chez Alexander has closed. Signage is up for«The Napa Deli». Sad news as the menu was always light, refreshing and delicious.

I had driven by several times when I’ve been in the area but was never too motivated to actually stop by… However, this particular day I had a bit of extra time and here I was! When I walked in, most of the tables were occupied.(There were six tables, which looked like they could seat 26 comfortably.) I really liked how the tables were spaced out with ample space all around, very spacious. I walked up to the counter and stood there for a bit without any acknowledgement. There was no hello, head nod, nothing… Hell, I would’ve settled for a fart in my direction, give me something? I finally was greeted by one of the employees who was also bussing tables. ‘From the way the owner spoke to him, he sounded like a new hire. Yeh, the owner wasn’t too nice… ‘Not the best impression to make on new clientele. Hell, any clientele! It reminded me of someone but I couldn’t quite place it… Photo — After I was seated, I browsed the menu. Owner: Are you ready to order? Me: It’s my first time here, any suggestions… (The owner ran through a few of their more popular dishes.) I finally decided on the Soup & Caesar Salad Combo.($ 13.50) ‘For the price I expected a relatively substantial bowl of soup and salad. Verdict: «M’eh» I have to add that the Greek Soup and Caesar salad were quite tasty BUT for $ 13.50, the portions could’ve been a bit heartier than what they actually were. Value: «Eh…» Greek Soup — Caesar Salad — Before eating @ Chez Alexanders, I read up on the other Unilocal*views about how nice & friendly the owner was. However, I have to admit… «I missed it!» I’m sure he’s a swell kinda guy but from my experience he could’ve been the same guy that took my order @ the local Denny’s. He was nice enough but personality, generic. ‘Maybe he was playing hard to get…(Shrugs) It’s not like I didn’t try. I’m joking!(He’s not my type.) He seemed pretty friendly with a few of the tables but it seemed swayed… ‘Towards tables w/estrogen. Too bad, I’m a great kisser.(Still kidding.) I’m terrible. ‘But seriously, maybe he missed his afternoon meds… I kid, I kid. I was really hoping to like this place. EL really enjoyed Habib’s Kabobs in Vacaville and this would’ve been a nice addition in introducing her yet another new Mediterranean restaurant… Oh well, the adventure continues. Chez Alexanders is «okay,» if you never actually make it here to try, not to worry, you’ll be fine. The food was tasty but IMO, overpriced. It’s soup and salad… ‘Which consists mostly of water and lettuce, minimal cost. Now, if I were dining @ Five Crowns, Lawry’s, or the Ritz Carlton, then the price point would be justified… Chez Alexanders sits in a non-descript strip mall just across the COSTCO parking lot where you could get a large @ss pizza for ten bucks or $ 1.63 hot dog/soda combo… ‘WITH free refills! My name is DJ Park, a penny-pinching, coupon cutting, leftover eating, recycling mo’fo that appreciates good food and a great value. Overall, a solid 3 Stars. — Big Aloha! Food: 4(Tasty; small portions) Ambiance: 3–(Stuffy) Service: 3(Standard) Value: 2+(Small portions)

While passing through Fairfield and Unilocaling for local restaurants we stopped here for dinner. What a great place! The owner/chef greeted us like we were family coming for Sunday dinner. The place was super clean with music playing and fragrant roses from his garden on each table. We had broccoli soup and Greek soup with chicken, lemon and orzo… Piping hot, just the way I love food served. My boyfriend had an eggplant dish,(Musaka?) he loved it. I had chicken Marsala which was perfect and also HOT! His warm pecan pie was served with Turkish tea, very light for pecan pie(even better than my own!) He used to live in Los Gatos and cook for La Mason Du Café. Small world. If I’m ever in Fairfield again I’ll surely make a point to go back. He even came out to our car to bring me a rose. How sweet :)

This little local spot is a hidden gem in the Green Valley area. What is awesome: the man running the joint is a sweetie that might catch up tight people off guard but charmed me and my man immensely. What is delicious: the pita, hummus, tzaziki, chicken, lamb, and baklava Recommended: listen to the man running the place-the dishes he tells u to get are the right ones.

What a wonderful dining experience! The food was delicious and the owner was so kind! I had the Moussaka and it was excellent. I also enjoyed their fantastic Turkish tea and rice pudding! The food was top notch and the service was impeccable. I’ll definitely be back!

I love this place! I stopped in with my husband on our way to San Francisco and what a find. The waiter/owner was amazingly informative and obviously authentic, explaining everything on the menu. Warm and friendly is the best description. The food was awesome. I got the lamb kebob. Amazing! A must try and then come back again.

My family and I came here from Minnesota to visit friends and family. I had found this restaurant online before I came and was very excited to try it out ! I even looked at the menu and knew what I wanted to order. We went there this afternoon; myself, my husband, our 2 kids, and my husband’s mom and aunt. When we walked in, the owner looked at us and told us «we have no tables right now». There were 3 or 4 open tables. He acted like he did not want our business at all. Did not offer to make us a to go order or anything. Just basically told us he didn’t want our business. I am very disappointed and will not be going back; which is really a bummer because I have been looking forward to eating here for quite a while. I have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant in my life. My husband’s aunt is a local restaurant owner and she was also very disappointed. Like she said, you should never turn business away. Our hotel is right down the street from here, and would have frequented Chez Alexander in my stay here, if only I hadn’t been treated so poorly. They lost a lot of business today!

I’ve never had service at any restaurant the way I did here. Our waiter who was also the chef is absolutely outstanding! The food was incredible and so full of flavors. I had the spinach and ricotta cheese ravioli in tomato cream sauce. We also had pita bread, hummus and the yogurt dipping sauce. Not sure what it’s called but it was mouth watering. To drink we had the house iced tea and it was great! I definitely plan on going back there alot more

This is an absolute hidden gem off of I80 right before you head into Napa! The service from Ibo, who is also the chef, was outstanding. It really felt like we had our own personal chef for the evening. The food is the best… Ibo tells you that you will only be able to say the best after you taste his cuisine. I had the almond crusted pork medallions and my friends had salmon. The hummus appetizer was fresh and authentic. They finished off with dessert. This is an amazing hidden restaurant. You should experience Ibo at Chez Alexander!

Haven’t been there for some time. My wife and I ate there several times and one time with my son. WE all agree food was so good, but the chef is excessively attentive to customers, which some people like it but others may not. Pita seemed to have lost its early-day flavors, when I last dined in there. Will be back.

A real hidden treasure. Located in Green Valley opposite end of building from Starbucks. Mediterranean style food made with fresh ingredients that’s filled with flavor. Atmosphere is bistro charming, neat and clean. Owner is a professional Chef by trade, and a joy to talk to. So for your next meal out give Chez Alexander a try. You won’t be disappointed… bring a friend. Andi Bosco

Came here tonight with my husband for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. From the outside the restaurant looked dark so we were intimidated when we walked in but we were greeted inside by the friendly host(who seemed like he might be the owner?) It’s nicer than I thought it would be from the Unilocal reviews. Most of the Mediterranean places I’ve been to have had a deli type of feel so we were surprised to find a sit down«fine dining» sort of establishment. I’m not sure if they have a different menu for lunch than dinner because the pictures on Unilocal show shawarma but I didn’t see any on the dinner menu. Me and my husband ordered a bowl of the Greek Avgolemono soup. We almost didn’t get it because the price was about $ 7 a bowl, but the host said it was big enough to split into two portions which was true. It was very good and I would order it again. We also got the pita and hummus which also came with a yogurt dip. It was also about $ 7 which I thought was pricey. He kept refilling the pita though and it did taste good but I’m not sure it was worth $ 7. For our entrees, my husband ordered the chicken kebab which came with rice. The kebab was good and covered with a curry-ish type sauce. I tasted some of his meal and I liked it. I ordered the chicken Marsala which was a special and was sooooo good. I definitely would order it again and hope that they make it a regular menu item. My meal was about $ 16 and my husband’s was about $ 15. The portion size is not huge but was enough to leave me and my husband full. Overall I was pleased and would come back. I thought the service was good and it seemed like a lot of the customers were regulars. My only complaint was that it’s a bit pricey so I would come back just not as often as I’d like. LOL.

Thank you! I am so glad we have Chez Alexander in the neighborhood. I used to drive all the way to San Francisco or Yountville when I wanted the fine dining or close to fine dining experience. Now, I drive 2 minutes to Chez. The food is delicious but it is not for those of you who believe you can get a great meal at KFC or Burger King. CHEZ is for anyone who can appreciate a delicious home cooked, delightful meal. I had Chicken Marsala and my friend, she had Lamb Shank and we were both pleasantly surprised. Yummy!!!

On the real, I was surprised how the food came out. I sure as hell had no idea on what I ordered(only that it had some lamb in it) BUT the service was so sketch I was nearly uncomfortable being around the owner ’cause he was cracking some smart ass remarks(non-threatening) while I was waiting for my food… but really though? If I wanted to hear jokes on how I didn’t have cash I woulda headed out to the Asian Market to buy items that were less than $ 5. I’ve had Mediterranean food before so I think I’d opt for the Mediterranean on Texas street.

Rarely have I felt as welcome to a fine dining establishment. Ibo was immediately gracious and put us to ease. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and classy. This is a definitely a place I will visit again.

I’m going back when I’m up this way next! An unassuming but high class place. Delicious, well presented, friendly in an understated way. I ordered the Gigot D’Agneau(Lamb Shank, $ 18) which came on a Hot plate, and stayed warm the whole time I took pix and ate! Wish there were more broccoli or veggies, but the lemon rice was perfect — slightly tangy, complimented the lamb well. Ibrahim, the owner, is a charming hard-working chef. He’s owned four prior restaurants all over the Bay Area, sequentially since 1992, so he’s well experienced.

Very friendly atmosphere! It bends towards being a fancy restaurant and mimics fine dining but without all the frilly expensive stuff(except the food). Kind of like Kohls vs Macys where this restaurant plays the role of kohls. Alexander(I assume that’s his name) could be a bit overwhelming but overall is a great guy! Very nice, gentlemanly and very animated. He pulled out my chair, took my backpack, sat me down and laid a napkin on my lap. The pita is Deeeeelicious and absolutely delectable! Warm, light crisp yet fluffy and very fresh. Best I’ve Ever had! And I could keep on eating them if I my stomach allowed! The Perfect(emphasis on Perfect) split pea soup was ahhhhhhmazing! Perfectly seasoned and went down warm and smooth. And the chicken shish kabob entrée was very good also. Chicken was moist, seasoned well and when eaten with the rice and sauce, was like a little explosion in your mouth! Everything I ate was a delightful party on my taste buds! And if all that I chose to eat that day was impressive, I wonder what the rest of the menu tastes like!
