L and L should definitely have 4 stars, with how large their portion of food is, flavor, location of the area and service. Not for parties. S E R V I C E I’ve not received a chance to actually sit down here and eat my food, it’s always on a late night and for take out. I have them in my phone book and every time the order has been placed, time for pick up is always between 10−12mins: when I show up the good is ready to go, no waiting for an extra 5 mins. They read your order back to you, Take out here is a lot more convenient. F O O D The food is very flavorful, I’m not a fan of there chicken katsu. But that’s only because I don’t like fried food that much! BUT their BBQ rice plate, is really strong in flavor. Very large portions of meat to Rice, with a nice size scoop of Macaroni. The Spam Musubi is a MUST try, with there Soy Sauce and sugar caramelized sauce on in between.

other reviews are spot on. i was hoping the bad reviews were wrong. really craved some good hawaiian food, so we ignored the reviews and chanced it anyways. bad idea. we had the loco moco mini, dry as hell frozen beef patty, very good salty gravy. decent white rice(pretty standard) and decent macaroni salad.(not great, not bad. just meh) . also had hamberger steak– same as loco moco w/o the egg. same dry, frozen, overcooked patty. we also had a cheeseburger, which had the same dry, small frozen hamburger patty that got lost in the bun. beef curry– tough beef, undercooked pototoes, small portions. lady at the counter was super nice, and the place was cold as hell inside. smoothie was super sweet. we had the hawaiian surprise flavor, it was made fresh — industrial ear splitting blender. small price to pay for a fresh smoothie, but this one was sickeningly sweet. we had 4 peeps in our party and all agreed — one and done with this place. no one liked their meal. it wasn’t nasty, but would rather have gone to mcdonalds. 4 mini lunches — $ 40. mickey d’s would have been less $$ and better food.

Ive ordered the same items and platters for my company for two year. I called to place an order and the lady was rude and rushed. Just lost a loyal customer!

I’ve been here maybe once before, but today I dropped by because I had a craving for some Hawaiian food. I ordered the Chef Special Egg & Spam over rice and macaroni salad. My friend ordered the Ramen Burger because he’d heard about it and it seemed interesting. The girl behind the counter was very nice and the place was clean overall. The prices were just right too(my plate was $ 6.95). My food was absolutely delicious. I’m a simple person and it might not be for everyone but I loved how it all tasted. The spam was great and the egg with the yolk popped over rice was to die for. Something I will definitely try again. My friends burger as a whole nother story. He enjoyed the beef but the ramen itself breaks up way too easy and it becomes quite a mess. Overall, a good experience and I will definitely drop by again!

Ordered the Katsu(batter was crispy and didn’t fall off but the Katsu sauce was way too sweet and no tang), ramen burger(son took a few bites and seemed to enjoy it, after taking a few bites ramen burger started falling apart), burger w fries and a loco moco(gravy turned gelatinous not very appealing).

The food is good and you get large portions. Prices are reasonable. I usually get the chicken katsu. Sometimes the pork. I am very happy with this location. Check your statement if you pay by credit card. They did charge me twice once. My credit card company fixed the issue.

McDonHo’s!(I’m just kidding… That’s just offensive to Don Ho, one of Hawaii’s original crooners.) There’s no substitute for genuine Aloha no matter how many Hawaiian shirts you have. Aloha isn’t about who you are, where you come from but rather from the heart. However, do not mistake aloha for weakness… It is a choice to share this joy, laughter, and love with the world. Photo — ‘And then we have L & L, Hawaiian kine fast food. I called at 6:45pm and was told that they closed in half an hour… ‘At 7:15pm?(That’s an odd time… ‘Whateva’s!) Arrived at 7pm, said hello to Karen, the lady at the counter. «Did you just call?» Yes, was headed this direction and wanted to catch you before you closed. I tried inquiring about the shop but it was awkward and fumbling… ‘As if she wasn’t used to a customer saying more than«I’ll have a BBQ Mixed Plate!» Eh, what’aya gonna do?(Shrugs) I did however get that the owner/operator was«Pākē,» and the shop has been around for ten years. As I looked over the menu, I discovered that the restaurant closed at 8pm on Sunday and not 7:15pm as Karen told me earlier on the phone… «Where’s da aloha?!»(Mainland style) So, maybe they set their own hours based on how they feel… It’s their shop, they can run it as they see fit BUT why bother posting hours then?(‘Just saying.) Otherwise, post a more honest sign — «Howz’it?! We operate on Hawaiian time. So, if you see the light on, we stay open but if no mo’, no baddah’ stopping.» ‘But seriously, L & L is to Hawaiian Food as Panda Express is to Chinese. What… ‘More fast food chain restaurants in Solano County?(Insert overacted gasp here) I’m shocked! I’ve been to L & L a handful of times, enough to know NOT to order the lau lau. 8/ Photo — I’ve been to a few local places that serve up really good, island grinds Unfortunately, L & L isn’t one of those places. Now, if we could only get Zippy’s to set up shop on the mainland… Zippy’s — An island favorite is the classic loco moco which consists of rice, hamburger gravy/patty, topped off with an egg.(Note: Egg isn’t offered @ all Hawaiian restaurants.) If i ever visit a Hawaiian restaurant, it’s the go-to order… Eh cuz, if they can’t get the basic dish right, waste money. The Order: Loco Moco w/Mac Salad(Mini) $ 6.35 — Okay; decent portions Portuguese Sausage Musubi($ 2.50) — Junk; teriyaki sauce on linguica?; paper thin slice; waste $ Hawaiian Sun(Passion Orange) $ 1.50 — Good; it’s Hawaiian Sun!; did not have POG(Passion Orange Guava) Photo — Overall, a three star rating, exactly what they are too.(52 Reviews) It’s just«Okay.» If you want a taste of local food and you don’t have too many options, L & L MIGHT suffice…(Shrugs) ‘But, you’d probably be better off making it yourself @ home. Local kine grinds are not hard to make. After all, it’s Hawaii we’re talking about, home of the plate lunch!(When in doubt, «Google it!») ‘Get choke kine recipes online, no worries! Portuguese Sausage Musubi — Verdict: Pass; waste $ Another thing I might add is that it’s hard to enjoy your meal with an old man yelling from the back & holding a conversation in Chinese with Karen who was up front @ the counter. I’m hapa, much like a mixed plate and grew up around a lot of different dialects… ‘However, the loud, constant yelling of a Chinese man in the kitchen sounds a lot like someone plucking a live chicken.(Hell, maybe he wasn’t yelling & merely preparing chicken katsu… I’m kidding, do you really think they use fresh ingredients?) It was a perfect recipe for indigestion. Overall, the service was okay, not particularly helpful in the ordering process or the ethics department regarding their hours. This location has been here for over ten years with just over fifty reviews, averaging five reviews a year.(‘Not too many people are anxious to get the word out on the mediocrity of «McDonHo’s!») The shop is located just across the parking lot from COSTCO and as the saying goes, «Location, location, location.» I’d have to say if it wasn’t for the great location, this L & L would have a challenging time competing with the other fast food establishments. It’s not particularly bad nor is it great. — «Psst, manong! Tree stars por you!» — Big Aloha! Food: 3– Ambiance: 3 Service: 2 Value: 3–

Hands down the worst food my boyfriend and I have ever tasted. Took forever to prepare and I wouldn’t even give that meat to my dogs. Disgusting. Thrown straight in the trash and it was expensive!

L&L=Lousy & Lousier. The food takes forever everytime(30 minutes for 1 spam mushubi, bbq plate & chicken katsu), it’s bland, soggy, mushy, and the mac salad was almost still frozen. I kept trying to give them a chance since it’s the«hawaiian» spot in the area but they’ve failed me since they’ve been open.

I’ve always loved going to Ohanas Hawaiian BBQ in Fairfield so I thought I’d give L&L a try since I was on my break from classes at Solano. To be honest, L&L BBQ in Cordelia sucks. The lady who works at the cash register is rude. There was a lot of food on the menu so I took like atleast two minutes to decided and all she did was stare at me the whole time like I was ganna steal something and said«are you ganna order something?» in the most rudest way. I was already ticked but I ordered the BBQ chicken and omg. The meat was sour and dry and it doesn’t even look presentable. I paid for the regular boxed one and the quantity was very small like it was for the small box. Personally, I wouldn’t go back to L&L for Hawaiian BBQ. I’d rather drive a few more minutes towards the fairfield mall for some Ohana Hawaiian BBQ.

This L&L is better than other locations I’ve been to, but not the best. The portions are huge! You will get the best bang for your money that’s for sure. We ordered the BBQ Mix and Seafood combo. We had tons of leftovers! Dining area is kept clean and customer service has improved with the new kid at the cash register. Oddly, I hear some customers ask if they can get refills. Perhaps at some point in time they didn’t allow refills, but I never seen any signs stating this. Not all L&L locations are equally the same, but this one is in that average range scale which is good. Overall, the food isn’t bad at all and would return if I was around the area. One thing that is a bit creepy is the owner/chef. He tends to stare at customers with a poker face from the kitchen. I’m not sure if he is angry or just his personality.

Pretty consistent with other l&ls. The guy working today was really nice and he was working hard the whole time we were eating, sweeping, taking orders, cleaning tables. That dude deserves a raise.

Ah!!! Okay. So I used to work at l&l. I used to pretty much manage one of them. So I know how things are supposed to taste and not supposed to taste. The Mac salad here is NOT supposed to taste like fish. Ew. My Katsu was perfectly fine. Big portion like it should be and cooked right. I also got a side of gravy. It was really thick and chunky and not how the gravy is supposed to be. When I tried it, it definitely tasted old. Like it sat out. Got reheated again. Got cold again and then they scraped it out just to not waste it. YUCK! I hate to say it but I rather go to Ohana… And that’s saying something.

Picked up the chicken katsu and barbecue chicken combo. For some reason this time the chicken had no flavoring And katsu was cold. Very odd it is usually really good.

Been here twice with my son and the lady(I believe she’s the owner or manager) is always very friendly. One time I came in right before my son’s nap time(meaning grouchy, cranky son) and she was so kind by distracting him with little things she pointed out around the store. I’ve order the chicken katsu both times I’ve been here so far(pregnancy craving) and great both times. L&L is the only chain that has a katsu sauce I actually like. Place is clean, staff is quick and courteous. Only wish they had better deals… if you order a plate, it doesn’t include a drink. Boo. :/

It’s sad, but this is my favorite restaurant in Fairfield. In a city with a population of over 100k, the chain restaurants(L&L, Chipotle, Texas Roadhouse) are actually better than the local joints! This L&L Hawaiian restaurant is my favorite one in the Bay Area. The quality of the food here reminds me of the L&L locations on Oahu, sans the tropical settings. My food always comes out fresh, as this is an issue in other locations. The spam musubi, chicken katsu, short ribs, garlic shrimp and Mac salad are all really good! It’s never busy at this L&L! Take out orders are always ready when you arrive at the time they specify. Friendly people that work here. Good quick eats from friendly employees equals two thumbs up!
