I’ve never been here before but the waitress is probably the rudest I have ever encountered. Her patience is low.

The food is really good. Love there Philly Cheesesteak. But there service is horrible. The are slow and the servers don’t check there tables like the should. They are friendly when they come around but what the score in personality they lack in service.

Normally this is our favorite restaurant. this time, service wasn’t great, took way too long for our entrees. Seen another table right next to us, get up and leave(pissed). Not much to brag about this time. Took forever to get a second beer. Very disappointed all the way around.

I had the bacon cheeseburger. It was good. A decent amount of bacon on a what seemed like grilled bun. The fries were very tasty. The only bad thing that isnthe reason it was not 5 stars, the iced tea was not very strong, and our server was not around, although when she was, she was very friendly. Over all very good, and I will be back!

645pm, starving and excited to try a new place. 650, seated after the host shouts«aw shit» as he drops our menus 7pm, we finally meet our waiter and order some drinks and chips and queso(see above, we were starving and a quick queso would hit the spot) 715, our waiter stands 10 feet away and asks another to get us waters. «I’ll be right back»… 725, our beer and standard cocktail arrive, still starving 735, main course arrives… we are hungry and not willing to argue that 35 minutes for chips and dip are crazy and we never saw them. Waitress delivering refuses go acknowledge us as we ask about it and she walks by, clearly annoyed 745, waiter asks if we still want appetizer… no. Asked if we wanted it removed from our tab, which remains an unnecessary question. My meal was undercooked and remained less than half eaten. Description on menu also did not lead me to believe that the sandwich would be covered in powdered sugar and resemble a jelly donut. For over 30 minutes the table next to us has been waiting for their check. They were then given the wrong check. The other table had received their drinks and appetizers in under 10 minutes. Same waiter. Well, we tried.

We used to Love this Cheddars. They«HAD» fast service and great food… However lately they seem to be slacking. We went last night at about 7:30pm. While the hostess who sat us was friendly and we got a table Quick thats where most of the good ended… We waited almost 10 minutes to see a waitress. By this time she came for drink orders we were ready to order our food. So she took our order and was gone again for another 10 minutes… When she reappeared, She walked right past us. So My husband ended up having to ask for our drinks. She was like«oh my! I’m sorry I got busy! I’ll go them. She came back with our waters about 5 minutes later. We chatted for anther 10 – 15 and then got our salads. Anther 10 or so goes by and we received our meals. Great except we ordered onions rings. As an appetizer… ??? We reminded her. Her reply «Oh goodness! I’m sorry. It’s busy!» «I’ll got get that» We start eating our food. Fish tacos. The«soft shell» was crunchy because it was either over cooked or sat out for so long under the warmer it got hard. Either way it was not very good. Both our plates were this way. We ended up finishing our meal as she delivers onion rings. We assumed waiting another 10 minutes was because maybe the were making fresh onion rings??? Nope they were cold. Uhhhhgggg we give up! We asked for them To– go. We ended up being in Cheddars for almost 2 hours(1:50 minutes) from the time we walked in till we walked out. I don’t know if we will be back.

This place is really tasty for a chain restaurant. I go to Cheddar’s frequently, and have yet to be disappointed in my food choices. The service here is a little hit or miss, it is sometimes really slow and other times fast. The staff is usually very friendly. My favorite item on the menu is the buffalo chicken wrap. It has the right amount of spice to it! They put plenty of sauce, cheese, and pickles in it to make it the tastiest wrap I’ve ever had. My other favorite is the Monte Cristo. Wow, if you’re looking for a fat, comforting food, look no further! For appetizers I recommend the queso dip with beef. Delicious! The price is right too, especially for lunch! I get half a sandwich and salad for $ 6.50. Can’t beat it! They also have a lighter calorie section on their menu, so there is something for everyone.

Awesome! The crossoints were awesome. Flaky and relish. The food ordered was excellent. Ribs, chicken and other items. Next time in the area I will eat there again. Staff was good. Good prices

My first visit and it was great. There was no wait to be seated, the atmosphere is comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly, the food came quickly and was hot and delicious. The price is very reasonable, too. I will definitely return and recommend.

Very average. I had the Cajun pasta which was very flavorful but my girlfriends steak and shrimp was bland and very mediocre, especially in appearance. Might give them a second chance, haven’t decided as they also messed up both of our orders. Disappointed is the best word I could use.

This place has good food, although since its opening their menus has downsized a lot. Also it seems every time we go we sit in the bar area. Never seen the other side of the restaurant. Some of the servers need to be more happy about being at their job. Some look like they are lost or confused. Also there are a lot that walk around. I don’t know what they are doing but it seems they could be refilling drinks making sure people are happy. I will still go here just hope it improves before goes downhill.

Good tasting large portioned meals but the meals are very fatty and not healthy. There are a few healthy menu items but not appetizing and there are only a few to choose from. I have to say that the service lacks… big time. I have been there 2 times and both times I was served but had no drinks or utensils to eat with and had to try for a good while(til my food was cold) to get a server to get them for me. My drinks were never refilled even after asking, and my kids got their food well after everyone else(we were almost ready to leave). We had a group at one visit and only half of them got the right orders.

I’m a big fan of this place and this is the ONLY restaurant around us that we’ve patronized on at least 3 different occasions! I feel like the food is a hit or miss each time but the prices/quality/portion sizes make up for whatever is sub-par. Service: 5 star! They are always courteous and helpful. Never really had to wait that long, even on a busy Saturday night. Never made reservations, and we’re ok with sitting at booths/table/bar etc. Food: Love the food! Burgers are good, appetizers and filling, and drinks are great. I’m giving it 3 – 4 star for the food because our last visit, the cheese bites were just a ridiculously small portion size. Usually, all their portions are MASSIVE and(this will sound mean, I’m sorry!) we always see ‘large’ patrons at this place probably for that reason! :) I liked the jalepeno burger; steak and shrimp also very good! Décor: nice ‘aquatic’ theme; bathrooms could be cleaner but were fine even for a very busy weekend night. Overall: our regular place to eat at! I wish they were more consistent with food but would probably visit again when looking for a simple dining out experience.

Good food in good quantities. The atmosphere is calm without being pretentious. My burger was good and my wife enjoyed her fish. Our server was very nice, but did seem a little rushed. This place is popular locally and I can understand that given the value for the cost.

Cheddars is everywhere, but I had never been in one before this last trip to Belleville. I have to say, it is a step up from Crapplebee’s, but still solidly chain/family food. I went with a strawberry lemonade, chicken tortilla soup, and had the pepper whitefish with ginger rice. The rice was a little gross– huge chunks of ginger in it that were not exactly tasty, but the fish was fine and the server was very good as well. Four people ate here for about $ 60, which is what you expect of a family restaurant chain.

Cheddar’s is a restaurant I don’t see very often. I had one near me when I lived in Texas(never went to it), and I had kind of forgotten about it until I stumbled upon this one in the Land of Lincoln. Judging by the reviews, this location opened in Summer 2013. It is located in the St. Clair Square Mall parking lot. It’s a casual, family-friendly chain restaurant. This Cheddar’s actually has pretty swanky décor. Other Unilocalers have posted pictures of the interior. It’s nice. They have an aquarium, and in one of their dining areas, they have a cool fan. Pun intended. Sorry. Refer to photo. :) In the style of an Applebee’s or Chili’s, Cheddar’s offers a variety of food. Their menu, which is available online, includes things like soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, steaks, ribs, fish, and grilled chicken. I had great difficulty choosing a meal. It seemed all of the portions were going to be huge. For example, they had a vegetable plate that included a house salad or bowl of soup, four sides, and a croissant(upon request). Four sides! Did you catch that? Four sides with soup AND bread. That was calling my name, but I figured I better not go down that road. I would have picked mac & cheese, a baked potato, broccoli cheese casserole, and red beans & rice as my sides. Then, I would have fallen into a carb-coma. I ultimately selected the Dijon Chicken & Mushrooms(grilled chicken with honey Dijon sauce and sautéed mushrooms, served atop rice with two sides). Mr. Kitty had a burger and fries. Apparently, they had run out of mushrooms for my meal. I ended up with three ‘lil mushrooms. The waitress apologized and offered to substitute an extra side on the house, but I passed. The mushrooms weren’t that important to me. :) First, let me say that service was great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and I can’t ask for more than that. Unfortunately, my husband and I did not care for the food. We certainly don’t expect everything at every meal to be the best we’ve ever had, but everything at this meal was just so-so. It lacked flavor, and my food wasn’t very hot. Room-temperature food is always disappointing. :( With the variety of food that Cheddar’s offers, I’m not sure it’s fair to judge them off a burger and a chicken-and-rice dish. I wouldn’t mind trying something else, but I’m not in a big hurry to do that. Based on this visit, I give Cheddar’s 3 stars. I experienced great service but mediocre food. However, with Cheddar’s large menu, maybe you can find something that you and your dining companions will enjoy. :)

If you’re expecting something different, this is not your place. Starting with the name, Cheddar’s. I thought they’d have all kinds of cheddar-related things! I didn’t expect this to be just another bar-and-grill type of place, like Applebees and Chilis. On top of the skimpy portion sizes and lack of food quality, the service was bad. So bad I didn’t even leave my server a tip. I’ve heard positive things about other Cheddar’s locations, but needless to say I won’t be returning to any of them anytime soon.

I’ve had lunch here and thought it was pretty good, thus, the 2-star rating. Last night, we went for dinner. I ordered house salad with lite italian dressing and a cup of baked potato soup. Hubby ordered the Lemon Pepper whitefish. From the time we ordered, it took approx. 35 mins for our food to arrive. My salad was FROZEN! This included the dressing that was frozen on top of it. Sent it back and passed on a new one. The soup was delicious, as usual; however, there was a whole mushroom in my soup that did not belong there! My hubby’s fish was over-salted. It was made palatable by ensuring there was plenty of rice on the fork with each bite. I waited 10 minutes before my soda was re-filled. Seriously? Our waiter knew there was a problem and he apologized profusely. He was a nice guy; but, never did a manager show up to see if he/she could right all that was wrong. In reading the other reviews for the Fairview Heights Cheddars, it sounds to me like a change in management is called for. As a matter-of-fact, I spoke to the host on the way out, who was leaning across the counter, and told him the problems with our meal and would he please pass along to the manager. Based on his ‘yeah, sure’ type response, I doubt management had a clue. We will not return here for dinner unless we hear much improvement has occurred!

Cheddars has always been one of my favorite restaurants(I used to go to the original one in Texas), and I was so excited when they opened this one last summer. But when we tried it a few times last summer and in the fall, we were not pleased. The service was so slow, they were often out of items we wanted, and(the worst) on my son’s birthday he ordered chicken fried steak and it was raw in the middle. We returned it and the second one was even worse! We scratched Cheddars off our list at that point. : Tonight we decided to give them another try and I“m glad we did. We went about 8:00 on a Friday evening and we didn’t have to wait for a table. The server came promptly and took our order. The food came relatively quickly and everything was cooked right and tasted good. They give you huge portions; all 5 of us took half our entrée home for the next day. And the prices are so reasonable. With 5 meals, 2 margaritas and 2 sodas, our bill came to $ 66. We will definitely be back, now that they’ve got their act together.

This was my first ever stop at Cheddars, and I mean the entire chain, not just this location. It was a new place to try on a special day, as my sisters and I gathered with our mother for Mother’s Day. I was a bit disturbed at first, because our party of 9 was not seated as one would expect. I expected a large table, or possibly 2 or 3 of the smaller tables to be moved together to fit our party. The idea of groups getting together in this area is not exactly brand new, so it was pretty much assumed we would get some version of this arrangement. Instead, we were directed to a set of 4 round bar tables, pushed together just a few feet from the bar, with high back chairs and the likes. For the first time, I ate a meal while sitting between two tables, my drink on one, my food on the other. Strange. The oddity of the seating arrangements was, however, soon forgotten. Drinks were served, the wife and I both having strawberry lemonades that were quite good, and the rest of the party getting the usual soda selections. We waited a bit too long for our appetizers, which came just minutes before the main dishes arrived, which is again a bit of a pet peeve of mine. The difference this time being that our server apologized repeatedly for the timing. In my experience, when this happens, the server usually tries to play it off like they didn’t realize, as if they just know we are going to demand the appetizers for free. Owning up to it was all I needed in this instance, as it wasn’t like we didn’t have them half gone when the food did come out. No big deal. The real surprise of the meal was just how good everything truly was. Our appetizers were the Onion Rings, Texas Cheese Fries, and Spinach Artichoke Dip, and all three were very good, with plenty to go around. My sisters each had the 8oz Steaks, which were so good that they had their steaks finished before I could even try my Smokehouse Burger. Yes, I ate my side of red beans and rice first, but jeeze, these two girls weigh a combined 170 pounds, and they devoured their steaks! The wife had Tortilla Soup and an arrangement of side items. The soup was very good, the little bit I was allowed to try! By the time I had a chance to get into my burger, I was already filling up, but everyone was so excited about their food that I had to give it a go. The Smokehouse Burger was fantastic! It wasn’t this amazing new concept of flavor or anything out of the box, but it was just a very well prepared classic burger with cheese, pickles, bbq sauce, and onion straws. The bun was toasted as well, and the whole thing was just awesome! The meat was so juicy and flavorful, I just couldn’t believe how good it truly was! My only complaint on the food was that none of the sides were all that wonderful. The meat and main dishes were memorable, but the sides fell short of adding much to the meal. Luckily, there was plenty of food with the appetizers and the main dishes seemed plentiful enough that the sides were a non-issue. Looking at the average score for this place, I wonder what could have gone wrong to justify such a low opinion for this place. I am just glad that I didn’t look before I went, as I surely would have opted for a different option. For those of you looking at that score, don’t buy into it. You will get a good meal, and leave splitting at the seems to be sure! If you go in a large group, be ready for an odd arrangement, and keep in mind the sides aren’t going to blow your socks off, but nothing was so bad that I wouldn’t go back again.

The service was, how you say, SLOW! My sister sat there waiting on me for 5 min and I was there 5 min before we flagged down a busboy to find our waiter. When we asked the busboy, he couldn’t tell us who our waiter was but at least tried to find him. Our food was just ok. The chicken fried chicken was a bit salty, but was good. the mashed potatoes they had a bit of sour cream in them. the broccoli cheese casserole was ok. it is sad when the star of the meal are prepackaged tortilla chips that came with the appetizer. they need to get a more seasoned wait staff that can work later than 4pm. Our waiter kept forgetting the basics of waitering.(?) Fill drinks, check to see if all is ok etc… I wasn’t impressed with the one in Springfield, IL and I was not impressed with this one.
