It’s like stepping back in time… Before restaurants became homogenized, before portion sizes went gargantuan, and before people forgot what made-from-scratch really means. I look forward to traveling to Fargo on business for the reason of visiting the VIP room. Eating out as often as I do can become utterly depressing. The atmosphere, service, and food here are so welcoming, and satisfying. Great sandwiches, wonderful soups, and tasty specials. They haven’t forgotten the art of doing something simply, but doing it magnificently. I wish they were open for more than lunch, but the fact that they aren’t adds to the charm.

Nestled in the basement of Block Six off Main Avenue, the VIP room is great spot for business and casual lunches and dinner. I used to eat here for lunch at least once a week. I’d always get a half a Turkey Cheese Croissant sandwich and a cup of the ever-so-delicious Tomato Basil Soup! Now the soup is for sure what kept me coming back. It’s the right balance of creamy and tomato balance with chunks of tomato and a perfect basil flavoring. It’s even great in the summer! My friends that I had taken there, so keep going back too, and even order a good portion of the soup to go for take-home. It ambience is classy in the front room, with white table cloths and napkins. Some of the menu is on a little pricier side, but once you take your first bite you will understand why. The Chefs have a great handle on what they do and the VIP room rates one of the best for a classy menu in Fargo. Oh and Try the Quiche. Yum. So make your way into the Block Six building and down the stairs to a dinner/lunch you won’t forget. But make it there before 2pm, because I am pretty sure they close for lunch around then, M-F. And they possible open back up for dinner in the evenings.
