A stop at the Peninsula Bookman is always on our to do list when in Door County. The bookstore has a wonderful selection of new and used books. My son loves books and Peter, the owner, remembers him year to year and makes book recommendations when we come in. When I was trying to make book selections for our book club, I asked Peter for his advise, he gave honest reviews of the books we were thinking about reading. As stated in other reviews the Peninsula Bookman has a great selection of Door County books non fiction and some fun fiction books about our favorite vacation spot.

I could spend days in here!(I did spend 5 hours…) 5 paperback books for $ 6, mixed with one-of-a-kind collectors’ and first editions, new books, newer used books, walls of history books, and a mystery section my mystery-ophile mother even found novels she hadn’t read. This is no-Barnes & Noble, which is why it’s a book LOVERS dream. Most well-read sales clerk(maybe the owner???) I’ve encountered other than my college literature professors. There were boxes of unprocessed books around the store, so they’re regularly changing inventory(unlike the static of B&N). I’m adding it to my regular stops for Fish Creek trips.

Really enjoyed visiting this well-stocked, independent bookshop in the heart of Door County. They offer a diverse selection, ranging from hard-to-find vintage to more recent titles, with an emphasis on history as well as Midwest/Great Lakes, Wisconsin and Door Co. interest. You’ll want to set aside a substantial chunk of time to browse the shelves here and don’t leave without checking out the gems in the rare and signed cabinets.

What a pleasure this Door County book store is. The owner is a great guy who knows his books, authors, and his clientele. Used and new titles, esp. titles focusing on Door County and Wisconsin. The new mysteries section could use more hard edged British and Scandinavian titles, but otherwise bookies should definitely check this place out!

RUDE owner, limited titles, overpriced; I was shocked at the prices! Also when I asked if the books were arranged in any particular way(I know, probably a dumb question), the owner said sarcastically«Of course they are».
