Nothing was bad just didn’t excite me. I guess after being spoiled on tasty smoked ribs for years, grilled just doesn’t do it for me. Sides were good. Cant say I’ve ever been to a BBQ joint with wine decorations and pictures of France? Friendly staff.

First time trying Piggyback Ribs and it was great! I ordered the Pulled pork sandwich meal. And my girlfriend ordered the baby back ribs. I was really satisfied with mine. My girlfriend liked hers, but was expecting the ribs to be the«fall off the bone» type. Unfortunately they weren’t. But she still enjoyed them. The staff is another story. The young lady that took our order, and made it as well, kept staring at my girlfriend. And made us feel very uncomfortable as we waited for our food. I’m not sure if she was trying to figure out if my girlfriend was a guy, or woman.(she is a not so feminine lesbian) Or if she was just interested in her. Either way, it made us feel uncomfortable. She even stared at us as we ate our food. My girlfriend is HOT so I don’t blame her. But again, show us some respect as customers. Thank you.

Ordered food to go for a little get together. Everything was really good, like the sauce a lot! Customer service was great when we picked it up. Food was fresh and hot. Will be back again!

Well I have to admit I am pretty picky when it comes to ribs. I smoke quite a few myself and make annual trips to the Best in the West Rib Cook-off. So to say I was pleasantly surprised at how good these are is an understatement. Dave, who owns the place with his lovely wife, does all the food from scratch. His ribs are as good if not better than any others I have had. They are seasoned well, and have that perfect bite with a slight tug texture. His BBQ sauce is first rate. Make sure to get his baked beans. Those too are homemade and have a nice spicy side to them. Oh, and don’t forget the cornbread. yep, homemade as well. The place is extremely clean and well decorated. The staff’s very friendly with a warm welcome a nice good bye on the way out. So give them a try, you won’t be disappointed

If you like babyback ribs that are tender juicy and just slightly firmer than fall-off-the-bone, this is your spot. They steam them first for tenderness and juiciest flavor then grill them for great char. Great balance between firmness and juicy tenderness.

Piggyback is a fairly new BBQ joint in Folsom. The restaurant space is incredibly spacious and clean, and the owners are very gracious. THEFOOD: Had the half rack of baby back ribs with sides of Cole Slaw and Shells and Cheese. The ribs were quite tender with a sweet and smoky sauce. They needed some extra hot house BBQ sauce and were quite good(3 and a half stars). The slaw was quite unique, with Apple and peanuts, but was woefully dry(3 stars). The star here were the shells and cheese. Incredibly tasty with an excellent blend of cheeses(4 and a half stars). The one huge concern is the price of our meal at lunch($ 34)! That’s a half rack and third rack of baby backs and three sides with portions on the smaller side. The price point for what you get is somewhat ridiculous. So will we be back? Probably not, unless someone else opens their wallet, but, the food, is quite good!

Went here for lunch last week. IT was a bit more expensive than I expected and was a bit disappointed that they did not have tri-tip or anything on regular menu except ribs. I ordered the rib sampler and was not disappointed, The beef rib was excellent. Meaty with a great flavor. I also really enjoyed the spare ribs. Some of the best I have had. The baby back ribs were just average. They were a bit dry It is walk up order and then they bring food to you and clear your table. The owner/manager was going around checking on folks which was a nice touch. Family owned place. I will definitely return here for the beef ribs and spare ribs.

Pretty good food, took my boys here after a visit to Folsom Lake and had some tasty pork ribs w/shells and cheese, and a pulled pork special. Which included a sandwich and drink. Over all good experience, will take my wife and other two kids next time. Cheers, O

We took the whole family here for dinner tonight. The place was clean, the people were friendly, the prices were very reasonable and the food was delicious. We got a full rack of the spare rooms which was twice as much food as we needed for the four of us. Next time we are going to try the baby backs. All the sides very fresh very tasty. Do not miss the coleslaw.

We tried this place for the first time and love the ribs, very reminiscent of Tony Roma’s style, very meaty and delicious. Lovely family owned business and nice, clean atmosphere

First time visiting this mom and pop rib joint. Walking through the door I found a very nice, spacious and spotless interior. Nice tables and chairs, nice décor, just everything was really nice! Obviously someone takes great pride in the presentation of the dining area. So I’m greeted by a strikingly attractive young lady sporting a friendly smile. She directs me to the registers to place my order. I check out the menu board but then ask her what are the most popular menu items they sell. She answers«baby backs, beans, corn muffin.» «OK» I reply, I’m in. A ½ rack of ribs, regular size order of beans and a muffin, just shy of $ 20. I seat myself at a table and watch as a cook prepares my meal. He fires up the grill, drops the ribs on, and then slathers sauce on the ribs until a nice coating is formed and there is a little char here and there around the edges. Not his first rib rodeo. Once done, the ribs go into a paper-lined to-go styro, the beans get packaged up as does the muffin. A friendly young man hands me my order with a smile and I’m good to go. Once I’m at my humble abode I crack open the packages and dig in. First, a bite of beans, hmmm not the usual bbq beans I normally find, more chili-like. Pretty good. Next I sample the muffin. It’s size is fairly generous but it’s denseness made it a substantial part of my meal. Wasn’t at all dry and crumbly. I used the included honey and really enjoyed what I had assumed was going to be just an «afterthought» item. Now onto the ribs. They honestly looked amazing laying there in the box. But I didn’t buy them to look at, so I tore the first rib off the rack and took a healthy bite. Oh yeah, pork-a-normous flavor! The sauce was very tasty, not too sweet, not salty, just really well balanced. The meat was cooked right and not dried out, but offered a nice juicy«chew.» As they should have been, the ribs were the star of the show. Now, I’ve eaten bbq my whole life due to my family being from the south. But today’s meal wasn’t really a typical bbq offering. Not a bunch of smoke, no sickly sweet sauces, not a bunch of greasiness, not a hint of «folksy.» Instead, I found a restaurant that is offering what I might call«Cali-B-Q» I think. High quality meat that is cooked their way, with sides that are not just thrown together but instead seem to have thought behind them. While eating my lunch today, I felt that as much thought had gone into the ingredients and preparation of the food as had gone into the presentation of the nice dining area. I was super impressed by my visit to Piggyback ribs today and will be back. But I would suggest that anyone visiting for the first time approach this place with an open mind as its not the typical bbq type joint in my opinion. «Cali-B-Q», god I crack myself up. Lol

Had to go. Restaurant was clean and neat. Had full rack of ribs + 2 sides(beans & cornbread) Ribs were very good. Good amount of meat and good sauce. Baked beans were more akin to a chili like thing, though I liked it a lot. Cornbread was very good and they provided butter/honey. Pricing is reasonable, comparable to Phil’s BBQ down in the San Diego area. Definitely will be coming back.

The St Louis Ribs and the the Baby Back ribs were very good; and the Mac & Cheese, Beans and slaw was yummy. Their BBQ chicken salad is awesome. And the owners and staff are very accommodating and genuine folks. We found a new favorite BBQ stop! We’ll be going back again!

A nice place to have a beer and ribs. Had the three rib sampler. The ribs were served nice and hot and well cooked. Pretty great stuff. If I had to pick a fav, the short ribs were fantastic. Especially with their spicy sauce. The place was nice, clean and well organized. My wife isn’t a big rib fan so, not much else on the menu, so I’ll be goin solo for more short ribs and to try the rest of the sides. Closed Mondays

My second time eating here. The food and service were great. Each time I’ve order the ribs, which is all they serve. And each time the ribs were great. The sides were very good. The Mac and cheese and beans were different in taste than I was used to but it was a welcome change. Some of the reviews complained about the ribs not being ‘fall off the bone’. I agree they weren’t fall of the bone but they were good. Unfortunately I haven’t had a fall off the bone experience at dickeys or buchanes(the Folsom bbq joints). And if I honestly compare the quality of the food at all three bbq joints there isn’t a clear winner. The three Folsom bbq joints are neck and neck. The price was right. $ 10.75 for 1⁄3 baby back slab with two sides. It’s definitely affordable.

Ok I got excited there was a new BBQ place, so reading the Unilocal reviews and shows this place being a decent price with only one($ Price Range Under $ 10.00) so I figured to give them a try. Bad idea, I have never seen such over priced BBQ even at a High End steak house I have seen cheaper, they have 1 item under $ 10 nothing else. BABYBACK ¼ RACK — $ 8.95 WITH2 reg. SIDES The rest is just crazy, get this you want Spare Ribs? You will pay more than double for their product and it is not smoked just oven baked. SPARERIBFULLRACK — $ 49.95WTF!!! WITH2 reg. SIDES And if you like Beef Ribs they only sell them 1 or 2 ribs with sides, who ever heard of buying less than a ½ or full rack? Nice people running the place but just another restaurant just looking to rib people off, don’t think they will last

Today was my second visit and once again we had an excellent experience. I always like to try somewhere a few times before writing a review so I can get a better feel for the food and atmosphere. Both times I visited with my son around 3.15pm and it was fairly quiet. The restaurant is very clean and spacious, with some TV’S in the background. I really like the grill up front where you can watch the ribs being finished as you order! The ordering is a walk up counter with a big menu board in front of you to choose. The first time we visited we ordered a rack of baby back ribs and a baked potato. Today we ordered a sampler, which came with two baby back ribs, two spare ribs, a beef rib and two sides(we had the shells and cheese and peanut coleslaw). First the ribs — tender and juicy with a nice char on the outside and a delicious«piggyback» sauce. I also grabbed a side of the hot piggyback sauce which had a nice tang without being overpowering. We also grabbed a corn muffin that was served hot — delicious with melted butter and honey. The shells and cheese had a great homemade taste and feel. My favorite was the coleslaw that had crisp apples and a lighter dressing than the creamy rich dressing you usually get — and the peanuts on top gave a great crunch for textural contrast. The owner Dave also came out to see how everything was and I have seen him do this also on out first visit. I am one that loves to support small business where I can and am happy to say we will definitely be back. Great food, great service and affordable(just over $ 25 for two and we were both super full!)

Excellent ribs! I’m a big time foodie! These ribs were perfectly seasoned. The meat melted off the bone… OMG, so good! I’m so glad you’re in Folsom! I look forward to my next return!

Not a bad option if you are in the mood for ribs. Located in the no name shopping center on the corner of Blue Ravine and E. Natoma. This is a very clean and friendly establishment where ribs are the main focus. They do have sides(cornbread, slaw, baked beans, baked potato, etc.) but it is clear from the menu they are focused solely on ribs. They offer spare, baby back and beef ribs. I went baby back and I got a half rack, no sides, for $ 9.95. These are meaty ribs and they are seasoned and sauced wonderfully. They are baked ribs so you are not going to get fall of the bone heavenliness but you will get a tasty rib that comes out quick. Do I prefer fall of the bone, yes. Will I eat and enjoy Piggyback Ribs? Hell to the freaking yeah.

I was so excited when i found out that a rib joint was going to open within walking distance from my house. My wife and I stopped in a few days after they opened. The place was very clean. When we walked in we were greeted by a very nice woman behind the register. You could tell she was excited about the opening of the restaurant. When looking at the menu. It started out impressive listing all the types of ribs they have. We then noticed that ribs were the only thing on the menu. We asked the customer service representative if she had anything besides ribs. She stated that they did, They offered a chicken salad. I asked if they just chicken, she apologized and stated that they did not. My wife asked if they had anything besides chicken salad and ribs. She stated that is the only meat options they had. They did have baked potatos and macaroni and cheese. I ordered a half rack of the baby back ribs with a soda. My wife ordered macaroni and cheese with a baked potato. During are wait for food, we noticed several groups of people come in. The groups ranged from 4 people to 7 people. All of them left when they were told that the restaurant serves nothing but ribs. While they were walking out. They had to walk right by the lead cook or possibly the owner. At no point did he ask why theywere leaving and seemed to think he did not need to address the fact that people were walking out of the restaurant. We received ate food after about 10 minutes. I was impressed on how quick the food came out. The food was not visually appealing. The ribs were clearly burnt and had an incredibly thin layer of glaze on them. Once i bit into them i could tell they had been over cooked and were very chewy. I continued to eat them hoping that all of them were not that bad. I was wrong. Very wrong they were all horrible. So horrible. They mac and cheese seemed to be a combination of heavy butter and noodles, did not get any hint of cheese. The baked potato was just as bad. I did not know you could mess up a baked potato but they sure did. On are way out, once again having to walk by the lead cook or the owner. Not a word was said to us. No good bye or thank you for coming in. He did not even inquire about what we thought of his food In conclusion the food was horrific, the lack of variety on the menu was a shock. I understand they sell ribs, but no tri tip, no chicken, no hot links, no hot dogs, no other beef or pork options besides ribs. I do not plan on going back and will be shocked if they make it through the difficult post holiday months that are the down fall of even mediocre restaurants. Just to clarify the food was unbelievably horrible.
