O C Urgent Care

A nice surprise. I’ve always been turned off by the depressing exterior look of this place and the name «surgery» in the name under who-​knows-​what owner and name change over the years. But my insurance changed and these guys were on it so I decided to check it out for something not too serious. The place was uncrowded and typical looking. I was quickly seen by a PA (Brian) who was VERY bright and knew his stuff. He also noticed something else chronic I know I have so points for spotting that. They do give you helpful printouts as the other reviewer stated. The place is one main doctor with some PA’s so I can only vouch for Brian; I have never actually seen an M.D. there. They don’t have an X-​ray machine so if you suspect a bone break, they have to send you down the road — which was backed up when I went. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and would go back and send friends and family.

They charge twice as much if you have insurance than if you don’t have insurance. There’s no doctor just a PA. And it’s nothing more than a clinic.

2.5 stars. I don’t think you can be seriously injured or need «urgent care» to go to this urgent care facility. The place is bare bones meaning there wasn’t even a chair for the physician to sit in in the patient room. There is a t.v. in the waiting area, but it wasn’t on. It is a little run down especially in the patient rooms. A young kid running the front went through the forms with me and took my money. $ 100 per visit, but then I reminded him of the $ 75 special they have. There is no doctor available, but a nice physician’s assistant. Two stars. Here is where the .5 comes in. The physician’s assistant was very nice, personable and patient. She checked me out and told me I was okay. She then printed out my condition from the Mayo Clinic’s website so that I walked out informed. How many times have you been to the doctor and then got home and tried to repeat what the doctor told you about your condition? The printout was helpful. If they updated the place, cleaned up it a little and provided friendly service at the front desk I would go back if needed.
