Noticed this joint is closed, which reminds me why we never went back. Been going there since the owner/chef prepared fish & chips in full view of the diners — no ambience at all, but extremely friendly and delicious — mennnnnny years ago. Once sold & remodeled, the same delicious fish was served, but little by little, the changes took place. Constant staff turnover, lower food quality, more and more«gamers» hanging around drinking beer and pretending to throw darts. Started carrying out fish and chips, but decided one weekend more than 8 years ago to «eat in» Sat down and waited 10 minutes but no wait staff. Moved closer to the bar where the wait staff was gossiping and giggling. Ten more minutes & we got up to leave. Looks of surprise and anger: «Hey, how come you’re leaving» etc etc etc. Thus we never went back. What a loser joint.

This place was great while it lasted. Apparently it is closed down now though. The phone number is disconnected and the Open sign doesn’t come on anymore. Too bad this was a nice place that was close to my house. Oh well, at least Biddy Early’s Irish Pub is right around the corner.

Don’t even think of ordering Frog legs at the Frog and Toad Pub!!! Frogs and Toads(please note that I capitalized the«F» and the«T» just as one would the«G» in the mention of God) are apparently as sacred here as are cows in India as well as also being worshiped accordingly. The entire of the interior is splatter and covered with all sort of knickknacks having to do with frogs and to somewhat of a lesser extent, toads. Just to see it is worth the stop. The place is definitely British Pub oriented, serves a very good fish and chips, bangers and mash, shepherds pie and some rather good Prince Edward mussels. Those are the items I think they do best but there menu is rather complete for a little hole in the wall British style pub. Steak and onion pie, calamari, shrimp, British seasoned(never heard of that seasoning before) sausage rolls, lamb shanks plus a host of other items. Then, of course, they have a very good though not really at all extensive British beer selection. I’ve usually gone for lunch as they have a lot of fun events in the evenings like«Quiz Night,» darts and karaōke, none of which appeal to my particular tastes, especially the karaōke wherein most people are expected to endure until the last drunk gets a chance to sing. Ugh! I never knew the world had so many obviously congenitally tone deaf people. However, others seem to have fun so I can’t fault the place merely because of my little peccadillo about karaōke and the like. One tip, be careful where you park.

I worked here back in 2004⁄05. It was great fun. Loved it. Their quiz night was excellent as was the food. Only downside for me was the owner loved Country music & played it a lot although no one else was bothered.

Ahhhh, the Frog and Toad. This is a great little spot nestled within a jungle of warehouses on Powerline Rd. I’ve been here a couple of times and both experiences were great! This is one of the best spots to watch a game of footy and down a pint of Smithwick’s. The sarnys are a great choice to scarf down your gullet and the atmosphere is very authentic. I will come back for sure!

The place seems to have changed over the years, particularly in the last year or so. The last time we were there, they were out of 4 out of 8 draft beers! The place has a lovely ambience and used to have warm, friendly servers who were the same. The staff seems to turn over very quickly now and the place is losing it’s English ambiance. They were having Reggae music which was much too loud one day a week last I knew. They just need to keep a good stock of beer and wine, a simple menu, and keep a good staff — it’s really a lovely place. We really used to like it and hope it turns around.

This hole in the wall English pub is nestled amongst warehouses in Northwest Fort Lauderdale. Its obscure and unassuming location adds to its hole in the wall charm. Inside, this pub has a warm, cozy ambiance. The bar is centrally located with enough dining tables around to find a seat if the bar is crowded. The only time I ever seen this place crowded was for the World Cup game between USA and England. It was great to see the shock on the local English folks’ faces when their goalkeepers blunder allowed USA to equalize in the match. For the most part, it is spacious enough. The food is surprisingly good here. I ordered a garbanzo bean Indian Curry and it was really quite the delight and inexpensive. On another occasion, I ordered the salmon and again everything cooked really well and sat pleasantly in my stomach. Again very inexpensive. Beers are very affordable and they have a good enough selection for beer enthusiasts not to scoff at this pub. Monday night is trivia night. Sadly, I only had come with one other person and you need four people, but one day I shall return for another visit and win that tab. This place is an awesome hole in the wall pub.

Would love to write a good review of this place, Ft. Lauderdale needs a really good pub badly, but this one ain’t it. In a town of poor pub food, this is probably the worst of the lot. The atmosphere is aggressively pubby cutsy, loaded with… what else… frogs and toads. OK, I can see where it impresses the easily impressed, but my god the food is deplorable! Ate here twice to make sure. First time, had fish and chips which were awful. Large portions of tasteless fish and underdone potatoes made for a forgettable meal. Service was slow despite the fact that there was only one other table occupied. Second time I eagerly sought the Sunday roast and was disappointed that I couldn’t find any pubs serving it in Lauderdale except the F&T. OK, why not try? Well, the fact that the place was empty prime time on Sunday should have clued me. After a wait of half-an-hour(remember, it was empty) we were served a meal that was beneath contempt. Tough roast beef(a large portion was inedible); canned, lifeless vegetables, overdone potatoes. Worthless. The waitress was cute(and VERY apologetic, offering us a discount on our next visit… FATCHANCE!). Be smart, STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE!!!

BEWARE: They do not print on their menu that their tiny little glasses of Ice Tea are not refillable. The waiter kept asking me if I would like more ice tea, so I said yes. When the bill came, my Ice Tea was more than the cost of two dinners. I have never dined anywhere in this country where Ice Tea is not a free refill beverage! When asked to speak to the manager, she basically said, too bad, don’t come back, Don’t worry we won’t!

Good pub, nice location, good food, shame I’ll never go back due to the rude Manager named Gary. He’s a master at bad attitude and driving away«paying» customers. Hopefully in the future I can go back when I hear he’s no longer there ;)

I have been to the Frog and Toad on the poker night but found it very expensive for a buy in. They would have more people if it was Free. The prize is a bar tab. I went there on my recent trip to try the fish and chips. I went on a Tuesday at 7pm and was the only person there. I ordered fish and chips, I was disappointed that there was no mushy peas, I was Not disappointed with the fish and chips. They were some of the best I have had. Lisa was pleasant. Monica the owner came and said«hi» and we joked about no mushy peas. Next time I am in Florida I will go there. I will take a can of peas in my purse just in case.

Boy have I missed this place. My wife and I used to go here a lot before moving out to west Coral Springs. Yeah I know it’s not«that far» but it’s not in my safety box anymore. Bottom line is I should venture out more because they have the best fish and chips around. I’ve had a lot of fish and chips from all over the place and this pub does it the BEST. Nice batter, not greasy, and fried to perfection. I always get a side a curry to dunk my chips in. The curry is a special recipe of the owner, Monica and it is F’ing good. My father had the mussels and within minutes they were gone. When I saw him drinking the juices from the bowl I knew my pop loved them. Our server was Lisa and she did an excellent job. Monica was helping out too and she has to be one of the friendliest owners I have ever met. Just a good person. If you are looking for a cozy pub with that solid English vibe, the Frog and Toad should be on the top of your list. Remember to tell Monica and her husband Martin that Dan sent you. Stay Hungry!

The food is delicious but I should have read the reviews more closely. We went on a Friday night and the Karaōke overtakes the space with loud speakers. The english style curries had very healthy portions and tasted pretty authentic, we ate and ran.

This is a local place for me. Great ambiance with all the frog paraphanilia haning around. Some funny signs around the bar only add to the charm. Bartenders are great and friendly. Monday nights they have poker for a chance to win a $ 25 bar tab. Friday nights they have a live band, from what I heard, are very good. I would have given it 5 stars except that the food kind of dipped there. Shephard’s pie is still one the best dishes there… along with the bangers & mash

To echo some other reviews below. Enormous fish & chips and great Shepards Pie. A lifetime’s worth of frog related tchotchke’s cover every square foot for a very unique atmosphere. Friendly owners… quiz night on Wednesdays. A nice spot to grab a few pints off the beaten path.

English Pub at it’s best. This pub is definitely off the beaten path but you will not regret coming here once you find it. They have excellent Fish and Chips and English-style curries and literally the best pour of Guinness that I’ve had in the USA. I don’t know how they do it, but it just goes down so smooth here. I’ve been here and drank 6 pints without even knowing it until I stand up. They keep an active schedule with popular karaōke on Friday and quiz nights on Sunday and Wednesday. For such an out of the way place, the place can get crowded and the people are mostly 30-somethings. This is not the place to go to find a date for you single people.
