First time we went it was a lazy, Saturday late morning. And we felt at home right away. Very cozy and friendly. Our coffee was great and I had a delicious pastry. Nice to have a Mom & Pop coffee shop here. Staff has been excellent every time we’ve gone. The kind of place you want to sit and chat with a friend or read a book. So happy to have something besides corporate coffee shops down here finally! Would be 5 stars if they were open on Sunday’s:(

Exactly what you’d expect from a local coffee shop. A cozy and inviting place with great ambiance– art on the walls, comfy plush chairs, cool chandeliers(ok you don’t really expect that from a coffee shop, so extra star for chandeliers). And with Bossa Nova playing on the speakers it makes you want to stay and stay. Of course, good coffee(I had the dirty chai) and excellent pastries made in house. Super nice Brazilian hostess/barista/server/cashier who I’m guessing is also the owner. The service definitely surpasses that in a regular coffee shop– she even came to check how I liked everything. Well done!

I can’t ask for a better coffee house. Friendly service, nice cappuccino, nice view, free WiFi, AC and USB outlets. It’s the perfect place to work remotely on vacation. Nice music, but not too loud for a conference call.

Excellent coffee shop! I am in town on business and arrived about 19 minutes before opening. They were more than happy to take my order. The tea was great and the breakfast sandwich was good. Very calm and relaxing place. The staff is extremely helpful and kind.

Unilocal guided my wife and I here for lunch. It was a very nice experience with the high point being the staff. They were very helpful not only with the service but spent time with us discussing the area and recommended some activities for us. The food was fresh and delicious. We will try breakfast the next time.

I would strongly suggest that you give this place a try and support the ‘little man’. Give the ‘big corporation’ a break and enjoy the delicious coffee, bargain priced bacon & egg sandwich and the tasty muffins. Everything prepared with pride, served with a smile and great value for money.

I work in the downtown area and they’re so many choices to eat during lunch time. However, Java house is my go to. The owners are super friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you’re satisfied. Can’t stress enough how well there customer service is and that’s what draws me back each time. Not to mention their delicious food and amazing coffees. Cozy environment that makes attending Java house a delight and look forward to it each week.

Omg… great, inexpensive food. I was overwhelmed by everything. The desserts are from scratch. No Sysco crap here.

When I first moved to the Fort Myers area, I was astounded by the lack of local coffee shops in town. The market here is inundated with Starbucks, and southwest Floridians don’t seem to be demanding other options. So, I was thrilled when Java House opened in downtown Fort Myers a few months ago. The coffee shop is housed in an old historic building in the River District, which in my opinion automatically makes it more appealing that the the vast majority of Starbucks in town which are located in non-pedestrian, drive-only zones. It serves good local coffee and really excellent, homemade pastries. The woman who works there who is the owner or one of the owners is always very pleasant. On top of this, they play nice, relaxing music which helps create an environment conducive to reading and quiet conversation. For me, this is the best coffee house in Fort Myers. My only complaints(which are minor): I’m not a fan of the disposable plastic plates for the pastries and I’m not a fan of the television screen in the café. Luckily, they keep the volume on the t.v. off. Still, I wonder: what’s the point of having it there? Don’t dwell on those things though. If you haven’t visited the Java House and you appreciate good coffee shops, do yourself a favor and visit next time you are in the River District. Or make this a reason to go to the River District.

Excellent coffee tea pastries, sandwiches and food, my buddy and I found this gem of a coffee shop walking around downtown Fort Myers, the service was outstanding and so was the food. I had an iced green tea my friend had a mocha, both great. The chicken tortilla soup was great and I had they had arepa con queso! All very affordable too! Beautiful artwork, soft relaxing music, great ambience, a great place to read a book or browse the web or simply meet up with friends for coffee/tea. We loved this place and have found our new go-to coffee & breakfast place downtown, highly recommended! Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve stopped in a few times now for coffee. The service has always been great! I really enjoy the atmosphere and vibe in this quaint shop. Coffee is also very fresh. I think this coffee house is a great fit for historic downtown.

This little hidden gem is an outstanding getaway for excellent coffee and homemade foods for breakfast and lunch. It is a small space lined with art work hanging on the walls. Intimate tables and some comfy leather chairs to sit at. Coffee is far above average and served piping hot. Wonderful homemade pastries, great quiches, wraps and homemade soups. Please don’t all rush there I want to keep this new business a secret

Forget those big name coffee shops. Go to Java and have amazing coffee, fresh baked pastries, talk to the owners and see some great art work. Support our small private business owner.

Wonderful downtown coffee & lunch spot! We had an americano, a cubano and a blueberry scone. Everything was perfect and delicious! The best part was the personal touch by the owner Sara Peters. Great service and warm atmosphere! We’ll be back!
