Captain D’s Seafood Restaurants

Food was great. Prices too. The staff was very friendly-​checking up on customers and asking if they needed refills. The atmosphere was nice too. Place was clean when we dined in also.

It’s been years since I went to a fast food fish place like this. We used to go to a Long John’s that is pretty near to our home, but their quality is all over the place. One night it will be acceptable, on another visit it’ll be so greasy you think you’re going to choke on a glob of Crisco.
So tonight, we decided to try Captain D’s on Hwy 80. I have to say, it was not bad. I feel like it would have been better if we hadn’t gotten take-​out. I think we live about 2 miles too far away to get optimal quality from bring their food home. But what was there on my plate was pretty good. It was good enough that I plan to try this restaurant again only next time I’ll dine in and see what it’s like without the travel time involved.
All in all, not bad and I’m eager to try them again. See you next time Captain!

This place seriously needs cleaned… gross! I could keep looking for nastiness but I have seen enough!

This place has lost its touch. It used to be good, but now they are cheap with their product. I got two small fish and 8 small shrimp for $ 8 and some change. That’s not even with a drink. The corn as one of the sides I got was the only thing that was big. Thumbs down for shame Capt D’s

I’ve been eating in this exact location for 35 years. It’s always pretty good. It’s almost the same as I remember when I was a little kid. Is it good for you? No. Is it the best fish n chips you can find in dfw? No. It’s cheap, it’s batter dipped and deep fried — so it carries a certain forbidden aura of tasty fried indulgent goodness. The place is clean at the staff is super friendly and kind. I don’t eat here much because I shouldn’t, and furthermore, I know better. But I can’t seem to give them less than 4 stars for holding it down and keeping «reel» for my entire life. I don’t recommend (because I care about your health) but if you want cheap fried food, this is the spot.

My first time at Captain D’s has been a good one! The fried fish was awesome — very hot and moist inside, with a beautifully crisp and golden batter. The shrimp kabobs were tender and nicely seasoned. The french fries and the cole slaw were pretty average. The hush puppies were nice (a little doughy, but I like that) and had good flavor. It had a fair price for seafood, but be prepared for a substantial wait. It’s worth it and you can tell that you wait because it’s freshly prepared. We’ll be back!

Love this place. The fish is crunchy on the outside and moist and tender inside. It’s great cod and doesn’t taste fishy. The hush puppies are super. They have lots of side dishes to choose from if you don’t want slaw and fries. Be sure to check out their specials. Mmmm… good.

4 piece lunch special for $ 3.99 say what? I am in love with this place! I seriously can not even put it into words!

This was great fish. We got a family value meal. The cod was fresh, tender, not fishy tasting and the batter was crisp and didn’t taste like it had been fried in old oil. I really enjoyed the fish. Cole slaw could have more flavor as with the tartar sauce but they gave us plenty of malt vinegar. I will go back. The price was very good for the amount of food we got.

My dad loves this place because the fish tastes like fish and not like salt compared to LJS! :) everything is pretty good there and I can say I tried the fried pickles and liked them! :) now the got green fried tomatoes? Well I guess ill try them! :) we like to order 20 pieces for 4 and a gallon of tea but we order seperate plates that come with fried fries and coleslaw! The slaw and that bad and the fish, I love it with Valentina salsa!:)

For Cheap fast Seafood this place is great. I ordered the Deluxe Seafood Platter. The shrimp had a nice thin batter, Fries also have a coating and are really good. I didn’t care for the crab stuffing in a crab shell and next time I will order with out that.
