Got the«Shrimp Platter» … It’s uncleaned popcorn shrimp with poop still in it. Looks like something you’d get from Captain D’s. How can you charge $ 17 for popcorn shrimp?

Excellent and authentic food. Great little seafood spot! It’s got to be the best kept secret in Franklin. I’ve lived here 20 years and never knew it existed as a restaurant.

Cozy and very relaxed. Only one server was on duty as other had called in sick, he was very friendly and polite for as busy as he was. Every table was full by 6:30. The meal was good for a quick non-fussy bite. The only issue we had was we kept coughing as their exhaust system didn’t seem to be working well. But food was good, atmosphere friendly and staff very kind. Great for a chill place to eat.

Me and a bud got here just for oysters. At first I was very skeptical about getting seafood in TN. I just moved here from California and figured I’d be wasting my time at this restaurant. I’m glad to say that I was wrong because they are definitely as fresh as they can be. I will say there didn’t seem to be a huge selection of types of oysters but they were all good nonetheless. The service is excellent and everyone was super helpful to make sure we had all the condiments we needed. I definitely will come back and try the other various seafoods they have. If the oysters are fresh(and safe to eat) everything else must be too!

Waited an hour … waiter did not put in our order.. DISASTER… slow disorganized mess! Still waiting now an hour and 30 minutes. For steamed shrimp. Do yourself a favor take the hour plane ride to New Orleans you will be eating faster doing that! AlHad to go to the counter to check on our meal status… chef complained dropped off cold shrimp NOT what we ordered.. left hungry and angry. No customer service the chef blame shifted the issue and never apologized he said he made what we ordered.. walked out hungry after two hours and the utmost WORST dining experience.

Just the worst service we’ve ever experienced. Got up and left after 90 minutes of waiting for steamed shrimp. Incompetent and unprofessional wait staff. McDonald’s could do a better job. Steer clear unless you have nothing but time on your hands.

Troy is a great fishmonger. I bought some delicious Halibut for our anniversary dinner and grab a excellent shrimp po’boy for me for lunch.

Very disappointed! I called and asked for two pounds of fresh shrimp peeled and deveined. Man that answered the phone told me they had plenty. I drove 45 minutes out of my way to get there. They gave me a bag of frozen farm raised shrimp that is a product of Vietnam. Save your money and go to Publix!

Went a few weeks ago and will not return. Had a PoBoy, grouper, and chicken for kids. Kids meal was $ 8 for 4 frozen and fried small chicken triangles that were horrible. Shrimp poboy was tiny frozen shrimp deep fried that were rubbery. The grouper was a small portion that was ok to taste. Drinks were canned soft drinks and bottled water. This was the first time and we had high hopes as it was advertised as a fish house similar to the gulf restaurants. We were hoping for Destin crab trap and ended up tasting like frozen dinners reheated.

I eat there regularly and always look forward to my next meal there. I am a PoBoy fan, so that is what I usually get… Shrimp or andouille… Either one is great! Sometimes I get the fish and chips, especially when the fish is sea bass. Sea bass also finds its way into the tacos, which are the best around. The retail seafood counter rocks too.

Gulf Pride Seafood in Franklin provides the Louisiana homemade taste and hospitality that will make you eat here again. As a Louisiana native myself, I can say that the seafood here is just like the seafood experience down in New Orleans. There’s no other seafood restaurant in Middle Tennessee that I would rather eat at!

Terrible experience! Wait staff weird, charged for split plates with a small child for a poy boy… Unbelievable! Crawfish was way over cooked and mushy. I ordered 4 – 5 lbs and I got 2 – 3 maybe. A side of sausage was $ 6. Kids plates are $ 7 and water is $ 2.95. I will never eat here again!

We came here for once specific reason– Royal Red Shrimp. I’ve only found one other place in Tennessee that sales these amazing shrimp, and the ones we bought here were definitely worth the drive from Murfreesboro to franklin. Fresh, and almost exactly the same as what I fell in love with in the Gulf. A little pricey, but I was so excited to find them I probably would have paid anything Ate at the restaurant as well, and I will say the service was great, server super friendly. Wish I could remember his name… And the food, where I could tell it was fresh, I wasn’t as impressed as I wanted to be. I just feel like they could be doing so much more with all that fresh seafood on hand. But then again, their main focus is wholesale and retail,. And as for that part, everything we bought was EXCELLENT! Will definitely frequent often for any fresh fish needs :)

Friendly service! The batter on the fried shrimp and sea bass was very light and not greasy. The shrimp bisque was also great.

Great shop for fresh seafood. It’s tough living in a land locked state and if you want great Scallops, Lobster, Crab, etc– without it being frozen then this is the place. Helpful, friendly staff.

for the fresh seafood market. The selection of fish and shellfish, although limited by the catch, is always fresh. From Grouper to Red Snapper to Cobia to Louisiana oysters, the seafood market brings it.

Great location, right outside the Franklin farmers market. Terrible service. The menu said«fish and chips w/ff» which is funny, because chips are fries. The lady at the counter didn’t think it was funny. She gave us all kinds of attitude. The food was mediocre. We won’t be back.

You are much more likely to get fresh gulf fish at Gulf Pride than almost anywhere in Gulf Shores, Destin, or any other beachside town. Gulf pride makes several runs each week to pick up seafood from the docks on the gulf. Gulf Pride is primarily a fish market. So the smell of uncooked fish is pretty strong and puts a slight damper on eating in. But the quality of their freshly cooked Po-Boys is well above anything else you’ll find in the area(other than Beaudroux’s which is also excellent). Whether you choose to have them prepare a meal for you or pick up some fresh fish to cook yourself, you’ll be happy to have stopped in.

Pure heaven. The special was fish and chips with the fish today being mahi. Pure fried goodness. Every bite was delicious. The mahi was fresh, tender, and flaky. There is a pirate statue as you come in the door. You feel like you are near the beach with all the oceanside décor. They received a shipment while we were there so we got the pleasure of watching them process the fresh fish. They have a nice selection of fish, shrimp and other seaworthy entrees available for purchase at the counter. If you have trouble finding fresh fish at your local grocery store, Gulf Pride can help you out.
