Very good service. Had a reservation Saturday night 7:30 for 7 people. Place was very crowded we were seated right away. No reservations meant 30 min wait. Our group was old friends wanting to talk. Unfortunately we got seated right in front of the band stand. Much to loud for small space. Asked Mgr if we could be moved. I was skeptical but they accommodated. Great table upstairs away from music. Salmon was terrific. Thank you for the service.

While I enjoy going to Puckett’s Boat House, I don’t feel like it earns more than 3 stars. Pros: Great atmosphere. You feel like you’ve just spent the day on the lake and then sat down for dinner at the local fish fry. Food selection. Lots of food to choose from with daily specials. Pretty awesome haply hour. Good for food and drinks. Cons: Price. I found that although the food is good, it’s moderately overpriced. For instance a catfish po’ boy is not worth $ 14. Lunch for my wife and I was $ 42 before gratuity. Flies. We had a terrible experience with flies in our part of the dinning room. Every other bite we had to swat them out of our way. Not an appetizing experience. Parking. It’s a small lot. Get there early to ensure you get a spot. Like I said, I enjoy this place, but it’s not a 5 star experience. Stop on for the atmosphere and maybe a good show.

We just hosted our rehearsal dinner at Puckett’s Boat House for about 40 people. It was absolutely amazing! Our guests raved about the wonderful food. What was even better than the food was the service! Working with Wendy in events was wonderful! She worked with me to create a custom menu and answered all of my questions so promptly with lots of help and advice. The service the night of the dinner was exceptional as well. The upstairs room was perfect for an event, and they let you decorate however you want with a tv for a slideshow and speakers for music. I was so glad that we decided to have our rehearsal dinner here and would recommend it for anyone looking to host an event with some Nashville flair.

Some of the best Shrimp and Grits in Nashville. It’s what I get every time I go here. I went on a Saturday when it was moderately busy but not too bad. My server’s name was Miranda. Incredibly nice and always checked on me to see how my food was and if I needed refills. The service was perfect. She even convinced me to pick up some of there seasonings and BBQ sauces which I used for my ribs this past fathers day. The rub and the sauce were perfect. Highly recommend for anyone passing through Franklin.

This is an okay spot near Franklin square, it’s got a covered outdoor are which is a plus. As far as the food, some is good and some not so much. The fried oysters are pretty sorry, but the butterfly shrimp were pretty good. The PBH bucket is assortment of everything fried, which is over salty greasy fat. I would recommend staying away from fried better here as its not very tasty. The catfish is big and good, but their cornmeal batter is mediocre at best. The Bloody Mary was tasty, but small for the price. I would stick to shrimp and salads here.

Good food, fun Nashville atmosphere and professional service. Raw oysters, fresh seafood(we had salmon and grilled shrimp) and tasty coleslaw and hush puppies. Excellent homemade salad dressings. And a shoutout to our awesome waiter Clark who did a fab job!

I enjoyed my experience here even though the reviews are mixed. I agree it is over priced but the food was good. I had the mahi blackened with veggies and rice. A good piece of fish, cooked well and average sides. I mean nothing wowed me but nothing disappointed me with — hence three stars. Our server was nice and the atmosphere was cute. Live music was pleasant, I enjoyed the guy singing appropriate dinner songs, he was great. We were sat under the air conditioner so the entire meal my mother and I were being essentially dripped on from above which was not the best. I would probably go back but it wasn’t anything outstanding.

I really like to give restaurants a second chance before I rate them harshly but I don’t think it would matter here. So the place was packed on a Sunday afternoon which is always a great sign! I understand there being a lack of seafood joints in the area so that’s my reasoning? Anywhoooo, the food was overpriced and bland, the service was nonexistent and quite rude. I almost cracked a tooth on an oyster, they never refilled our waters AND never gave us our full order of drinks(I needed alcohol to tolerate this place) but never received it, THEN the waiter slammed the glasses down on the table to show us his displeasure when we asked for an iced tea and water to go(it would’ve been our first refill). Then he tells us that they ran out of togo cups and couldn’t accommodate our request. Ha! That about sums it up. If you like to overpay and be ignored, this is your cup of tea my friends!!! Have fun!

Could not think of a place that has been more relaxing and enjoyable for a dinner experience to share with close friends. We arrived fifteen minutes early for our reservation on Friday evening. We enjoyed the décor and extremely friendly atmosphere bartender and wait staff. The drinks refreshing fair price the appetizers green fried tomatoes good but not extraordinary. But each of us enjoyed our four different dinner selections all extremely delicious. The deserts however where lack luster. So I guess three and a half star’s is a good rating. All in all. We would be more than willing to stop in again and enjoy what they do have to offer.

What a fun place to be at! We were a large group for lunch on Veterans Day and while the service was a little choppy(due to our large number, our only waiter, and the busy environment), the food was great and the staff extremely nice and accommodating! We had tuna and avocado tartare to share for the tables. These were very fresh and as delicious as it sounds! We also ordered the hush puppies and they were so good, we got a second round! They weren’t regular hush puppies, they were stuffed with shrimp and corn and cheese and all over goodness! My entrée was the salmon with mango glaze and the veggies, it was good, but I was already stuffed by that point. I think the desserts and especially the homemade key lime pie was hands down one of the best thing I ever had! I am not kidding, it has officially dethroned every favorite desserts that ever were, key lime pie from pucket’s is to die for. Also got to sample the pecan pie and the spice cake. They were great, but nothing compared to the key lime pie! OMG. If anything, order the hush puppies for appetizers and a slice of key lime pie for yourself, you aren’t gonna want to share it. Haha! Coffee was NOT good! Don’t even care :) Loved loved loved our lunch! Thank you for welcoming our big group, we had a fantastic time :)

Atmosphere: I’ve been when it’s crowded and when we were the only ones there. It can get quite loud so be ready for that. Parking is available to the rear and some limited spots in the front. During the busy times you might have to settle for street parking. Food: I typically enjoy the fried seafood here. I’m not entirely sure what happened this past saturday but during the lunch hours the fried oysters came out over-done. I’m talking KFC bottom of the box popcorn chicken overdone. I promise this was not the norm on my previous trips here. Fried shrimp is usually spot on — again see comment about food being in the fryer for too long. I’ve had the tacos and they were just okay. The raw oysters have been decent minus this last time where it tasted like they were shucked the night before and served the next day. Dry and very rubbery. Dessert wise I’ve had the keylme pie and the banana pudding. Banana pudding is the bees knees. Service: I’ve never had a problem with service here… until the most recent trip. I know it’s just polite to advise the status of a tables order but I find it annoying when someone tells me my food is next and then I see the 5 surrounding tables served their food before mine… The same tables that arrived 20−30mins after we did. A simple«it’s on the way» would’ve sufficed. Telling me I’m next just sets expectations. Overall: Let me finish by saying I’ve been here about a dozen times. My last experience has knocked it down from a solid 4 to a 2.5. Not sure if they were just training new kitchen staff but I felt like everything was off. Management offered to comp a dessert but I didn’t take them up on the offer… primarily because I figured it would’ve taken an additional 30mins. Will it stop me from suggesting people to try it? No. Will I make my way back here? Of course… down the road. We can still be friends?

We’ve been here several times. It seems like every time we head towards the gulf craving seafood we detour ending right here. Great options when you’re having a hankering for fried shrimp, shrimp and grits, coconut shrimp, shrimp poboys… went a little«Forest Gump». They do have other things that are equally worthy of compliments. My family once had a seafood restaurant in NC and although the selection isn’t as expansive it is fresh and done well. They don’t skimp on portions either. Atmosphere puts you in the mood to be at the beach so you might consider packing a bag so you can keep driving. Great service every time. Live music can be a bit loud but that’s to be expected. Make sure to order coconut shrimp! The desserts are reasonable portions(not enough to share if you’re not miserably full). Get your own! Love this place!!!

Visited from out of town. Read it was in the top 10 list for Franklin on Trip Advisor. Was sourly disappointed. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi and it was very very dry. It was supposed to have a mango glaze to it and all it was was a small handful of mango pieces. Also had the fried pickles after reading they were good. They were not. Overcooked with too much batter. On the bright side the service was excellent.

Judging by how much I love Puckett’s in downtown Nashville, I had high hopes for our trip to the Boat House. We visited the Monday after Valentine’s Day, and although I’d made a reservation, we certainly didn’t need it as the restaurant was pretty empty. We were seated quickly and our server was very friendly. We were looking over the drink menu when our waitress arrived to take our order, but hadn’t quite made up our minds, so we both just started with a water. I thought it was obvious from the interaction we had that we’d be ordering beverages, but our waitress never asked about additional drinks. That’s partially our fault, but it saved us a few bucks, I guess. We ordered fried pickles to start, but I just wasn’t a huge fan. They were much sweeter than other fried pickles I’ve had. They were good quality, just not my preference. I ordered the French dip sandwich, but it left me sorely disappointed. Every bite was full of fat — it was nearly inedible. It was also quite spicy for a French dip, something I didn’t really care for. Overall, I just wasn’t impressed with our trip to the Boat House. The service was the only redeeming quality of this visit. I will certainly return to the downtown Puckett’s location, but I’m just not sold on this one.

I really hoped for much better, but should have paid more attention to the reviews. Our server was attentive, but the hour wait for our entrees on a Tuesday evening seemed excessive(was told it was due to a large party). The Southern Wit beer was good as was the fried catfish. But, the bbq shrimp and grits was an absolute disaster. Bbq shrimp tasted like Franks red hot sauce and was served in a clump of cheese grits. Go to New Orleans for true bbq shrimp, and no Southerner would ever rate those grits as better than mediocre. We were offered a complimentary dessert for our wait so that was a plus. ***Update, I received a response from management stating that they would work to improve their customer’s experience. Very impressive that they are willing to respond and improve. Next time I am in Franklin, I will be sure to give them another shot.

The best fried pickles ever, really! Truly! The spice of the pickling spices is so present, they are battered just enough and crispy. We also tried the oyster sampler which was good. The banana pudding was very sweet and chuck full of vanilla wafers so it was kind of cake like instead of pudding like in my opinion. The waitress was very nice, very helpful and very attentive.

Our party of 7 showed up late last evening after playing at singer/songwriter night at Kimbro’s Picking Parlor. The hostess and wait staff were very welcoming and encouraged us to join them for dinner. The band was just wrapping up as we entered, but we were never discouraged or rushed in our dining experience. Everyone we encountered, from hostess to waiter to bartender, aimed to please and delivered. The food was fresh, hot and well prepared, and a great time was had by all. We closed the restaurant, but so appreciated the staff at the Boathouse for welcoming us, and taking such good care of us. Well Done!

Puckett’s Boat House is a casual restaurant themed around a boat house; it does sit adjacent to the Harpeth River. Maybe I didn’t have my expectations properly calibrated, but I was expecting more seafood items on the menu. I think less than half the entrees were seafood. I had the blackened catfish and my wife had shrimp grilled. We both enjoyed our meals, but wished there had been more seafood choices. By all means, enjoy a nice, casual meal at Puckett’s Boat House. Just realize that it’s not fancy and that the menu is limited and the seafood choices more so.

Not customer friendly. The place might be filled by only 10% but they will put you at the worst possible table and say the others tables are reserved. An hour later and the good tables still vacant(except two tables that were pushed together for the reserved party and another couple that refused to move.) A lot of empty tables next to the big screen TV during a game. We have eaten at Puckett’s Boat House several times before and service is hit or miss, but we liked the atmosphere, location, and food was good most of the time. Their service is an issue-don’t expect the server to come and refill iced tea or see if you need anything. We have had a couple of excellent servers but the bad out weigh the good. Go to 55 South. Great food and service. 55 South also has much better oysters. Tip: do not see hostess for seating. Sit where you like and according too the manager they will not make you move. We do plan to not return unless under new management.

After my wife’s last review, the manager called us and was very sorry for our experience and offered us a $ 50 gift card to come back and try it again. We accepted and my review has not changed and we will never be going back again. I ordered the Dinner shrimp, blackened with sauté veggies and rice. I substituted the rice for a side salad. My salad was larger than the shrimp and veggies. I think I got 6 shrimp. The flavor was ok. My wife order the peel and eat shrimp. They where very much over cooked and left an aftertaste that is not pleasant and should not come with eating shrimp. My father in law ordered a burger and onion rings with the burger med-rare. It came well done. When asked about the waiter came back and said since it has egg in it that is how it had to be cooked. His onion rings were not good either but filled with the oil from cooking. We had the same issue last time when we had the fried pickles. There are flies everywhere! We had at least 3 flying around us inside. I hate flies, especially in a restaurant. I don’t know how they get 4 stars. It was a mutual consensus that none of us will be back again.

After browsing through all the Unilocal reviews, I’m pretty convinced that all the people giving 1 star are either A) super crotchety or 2) super fake… so take those with a grain of salt. I picked Puckett’s for dinner while we were visiting for a few reasons… I love Franklin, my manfriend & I both LOVE seafood, and I knew we’d be tired of eating all the fried things by our last night in town. Well, the manfriend ended up ordering the giant bucket of fried things, but it was delicious so that’s OK. We started with one of the oyster appetizers(spinach & cheese, I think?), and they were really good… I love the smoke flavor when oysters are fixed this way. I had the shrimp & grits with a side salad, and it was very good! A little spicy for me(granted, I think Chipotle’s chicken is too spicy, so I’m not one to trust when it comes to heat!), but the giant glass of iced tea fixed that problem. Our server was super prompt & was really friendly… I haven’t had a bad experience at a Puckett’s yet!

Awesome. Wonderful. Fantastic. Combination oyster appetizer is amaze balls. We got 2 dozen of them. 10 out of 10. I had the shrimp and crawfish Mac and Cheese which I would give an 8 out of 10, Hubby had blackened shrimp with mango sauce and rates his a 7.5 out of 10. I came to this town one evening as a girls night and I had an amazing time! I enjoyed the oysters and there were so many varieties, from the traditional to some with cheese and spices! One of my friends did not recommend the macaroni and cheese, especially since the serving was ridiculously small but I grabbed their Puckett Buckett and everything was FRIED! Even the oysters and that was DELICIOUS! My mouth is just watering reminiscing this place, definitely check it out and enjoy the wine tasting down the street ;)

Once I moved back to Nashville, I was intent on getting out of the city and understanding the nearby ‘burbs. Franklin was tops on my list. And, when in Franklin, how can you not not visit the Boat House? It’s pretty tremendous that such an establishment exists. Tennessee is, firmly, landlocked. Yet, at the Boat House, you’re guaranteed fresh seafood flown in daily. For all those who think they’ve done the Puckett’s thing because they’ve had dinner Downtown(Nashville), think again. The Boat House is doing its own thing and it’s fantastic. First off, there’s ample parking. I get it: apples & oranges but not having to figure out a parking or valet situation is always a welcome experience. Secondly, there are three different businesses going on here: there’s the oyster bar, there’s the main dining room and there’s the wine bar. Depending on the type of experience you’re going after, you’ll choose the room/menu best suited for you. I’ve been here twice for lunch: once in the wine bar and once in the main dining room. Both experiences were well worth the drive from Nashville. Come here expecting low country cuisine. There’s bbq… but there’s, likely, some kind of sea creature attached to it. The shrimp & grits are a must. Try them either straight up… or in hush puppy form. Yep. I wrote ‘hush puppy.’ This ain’t your city’s Puckett’s. The po’ boys are filling and the hot fish sandwich is something you need to try. If you’re attempting to have a lighter lunch, I found the side house salad and bowl of gumbo filled me and satisfied my taste buds but didn’t stuff me. For the teetotalers, you can’t go wrong with the Arnold Palmer. For those who enjoy grown-up juice, take advantage of the well-curated wine menu and fancy up your eats. But, whatever you do, save room for dessert. The Key Lime Pie sent me in to fits of pure bliss — and I first had it only weeks after moving from south Florida. It, like everything else on the menu, is the real deal. No matter which part of the property you park your bottom, you’re sure to have great service(never have I encountered a sour puss) and a good vibe. The oyster house is good for sports lovers. The main dining room offers live music. The wine bar spills out onto a patio that overlooks the river(creek? ha!). In cooler months, it even boasts a fire pit. What more do I need to write to convince to come on down? Actually, strike that. After reading what I wrote, you shouldn’t need a hard sell. Park in back.

This is a fun place to go eat and the live entertainment is nice. Listen to good music, eat good food and a cool atmosphere all in one place. Stopped in town for the weekend, and of course everyone local recommends this place. It is good ol’ southern food with the atmosphere and charm to match. You’re gonna leave full and happy! I got the chicken and waffles, which were great. Being from Atlanta I’ve had a lot of chicken and waffles in my day, and while these were pretty basic looking, they were incredibly yummy! The waffle is fluffy and sweet, topped with chicken tenders, and some old bay spice with a slight drizzle of honey. Definitely would recommend them! Also, we of course had to try out this deep fried brownie. Even if you are normally not a dessert person, this is COMPLETELY worth it.

I’ve dined at PBH twice and have been very satisfied both times. The shrimp and grits hush puppies were probably one of the best things I have ever eaten. The catfish was very fresh and the breading was perfect. We ate there for lunch today and started with the lobster bites(absolutely amazing), I got the hot chicken sandwich(not Nashville style by any means, but was still a delicious buffalo chicken sandwich) and chipotle grits(loved them!), my boyfriend got the gumbo of the day and the PBH shrimp tacos(amazing!). They also have some really great desserts but we were too full today to get any. But if you do go for dessert, check out the banana pudding or chocolate cake! The service was exceptional today. Amy was our server and was awesome!

Puckett’s is known for their home cooking. They make everything from scratch. I’ve been told that this specific place gets their sea food from the Golf every other day which makes it fresh. Sometimes its hard to get good sea food but this place has it. As you walk in the décor is great. Original blue grass feel and clean atmosphere. They have a oyster bar in the back and even a live stage for live performances for the weekends. Greeted by the hosts the service was great. Our server didn’t bother us a whole lot and always kept our glass filled. She asked also if it was my first time and suggested a few favorites on the menu. I always tend to stick to the traditions of sea food items. So I tried their Shrimp Po Boy sandwich and a cup of gumbo. Let me just say, they have the best sea food gumbo. Chunky tuna meat, a hint of spice and flavor. I will def. be ordering a bowl of that next time I go in. Most shrimp po boys are fried shrimp but I had it blackened this time. That was good but I def. recommend it being fried if you get this sandwich! Good size menu for all ages. They def have the room for families or groups and like I said, seem to have live music as well so call in for who’s playing. If you’re on the go, they also do carry out. I will def. be back and I now know where to take my next date! Check them out!

I’ve been told that Puckett’s Boat House is the best Nashville-area restaurant for fresh seafood. We took a random trip to Franklin for lunch and shopping, so we decided to give it a shot. PBH gets gets seafood deliveries five days a week, which is pretty good for a landlocked state. No surprise, they have a lot of nautical décor, but it thankfully lacks the cheesy«Arrrrgh, matey» stuff you’d find at chain seafood places. They have a nice outdoor patio which overlooks the Harpeth River, which we might have utilized if it hadn’t been so cold outside. We started with the Shrimp and Grits Hushpuppies as an appetizer. They were really delicious, like mini shrimp croquettes. I liked the slight spiciness of the accompanying mango sauce. The slaw that came with them was also very tasty. It was fresh and light, and I really liked the interesting crunch of pine nuts. I got the Salmon Burger for my entrée. The salmon tasted very fresh, not fishy whatsoever. The red onion added a nice bite, and I enjoyed the acidity and zip from the lemon aioli. The side of sweet potato fries were also very good, especially when dipped in the honey mustard they provided. This was a fantastic lunch pick! My wife graciously allowed me to try a piece of her fried cod, which was also really good. It had a great crisp batter and tasted just as fresh as my salmon. Our waiter was also very friendly and did a great job taking care of us. They weren’t too busy at lunch, so I’m sure that made it easier for him to be attentive. In fact, the only error he made was in pronouncing the word«pecan» as «pe-can,» which he quickly apologized for, explaining that he grew up in the northeast. I suppose I can let that one slide. We will definitely be back to Puckett’s Boat House, and I really want to try out their other restaurant locations as well.

This has been our go-to restaurant since moving here just about a year ago. Yes, there are dozens of really good restaurants in Franklin, the surrounding county, and that bigger burg just a dash up Nash-way. Simply put… we’re very comfortable right here, dining inside or on one of the two patio dining areas. Great staff… always make you feel welcome. Great food… from the Apps, to the Sammies, to the Specials, to the Seafood. Entertainment…live, Tuesday through Saturday. Drinks…several great Tennessee beers on tap, decent wines, whiskey, bourbon, scotch, and specialty concoctions to boot. Git’er started: Like Oysters? On the Half-shell or prepared in a couple different ways — top rate! Can’t make up your mind? Try the Rusty Bucket for starters: A half bucket of fries, Hushpuppies, Fried Oysters, Fried Butterfly Shrimp, and the best Fried Catfish fingers I’ve had anywhere.(And I’ve been«anywhere».) Tender strips of cornmeal-crusted, peppery, flaky goodness.(Not a hint of muddiness as you find so many other places.) I’ve tried just about everything on the menu at least once and have been pleased with just about everything the Boathouse offers.(Lobster bites are just bitty bites. Hot chicken or fish is just moderately hot – not true«Nashville Hot» for my palate.) Favorite salad for me? The Blackened Ahi Tuna with Thai Peanut Sauce. You can order it grilled if you prefer. It’s spicy-peppery, sweet, and full of Asian flavor, and also low in calories(the menu says 361). Top it off with a slice of heaven via Jack Daniels Pecan Pie or decadent Carrot Cake. Oh soooo good. The secret’s out… the Boathouse rocks.
