The food was good but the service could have been much better! I was charged for another persons drinks, and half of the people at our party didn’t receive their meals until 20 minutes later and they ordered first!

Just had dinner at Sperry’s with my wife. I was disappointed. Got there about 6pm and was told there is an hour wait. Decided to have a seat at the bar, which had open seats. Wife had the special and I had the bone in filet(a first for me). The steaks had a very strange taste and texture. I would have to say this has to be one of the worse dinners I have ever had for over $ 100 dollars. It was bad.. terrible

The ambience is old school steak house, and the waitstaff are dressed in white shirts and ties. While they were attentive to our needs, the kitchen was not. We ordered two New York Strips and a filet. The strips were well-overpriced and well-done, though they were supposed to be medium-rare. The quality and taste of the steaks were sadly lacking. They were tough, not aged at all, and had no flavor. It might was well have been cafeteria roast beef. We won’t be returning.

Love this restaurant! I’ve dined here 3 times in the past 3 months. 2x for dinner, 1 lunch. It was excellent everytime! The service, whether you’re seated in the bar or in the main restaurant is truely impeccable. The food, seafood, steak and chops, escargot.devine. Expensive, but supurb. I’ve taken my 6 yr old at lunch time, and I would take him at dinner, but only into the main restaurant, not the bar dining.

Had a dinner reservation for my wife’s birthday with my five kids. Despite a reservation they seated us in the bar with little kids. I mentioned on the reservation that I wanted seven pieces of strawberry cake. Come dessert– not enough cake. It’s been several months and I have no plans to return for either business or personal dinning.

Like the food, but service was subpar the night we were there. Enjoy the salad bar and homemade dressing. Steak was good, but not as good as previous dinners there.

Hello Sunday Brunch! I love you! Prime Rib sliders and mimosas — Yes please! But don’t go here to people watch or for sunlight because neither are available. Sometimes you just can’t have everything you want.

Sperry’s has started to suffer in a few areas this past year and last evening was the lowest. I requested a specific area of the restaurant for a special dinner celebration. I reserved in advance and was assured that one of the 4 tables would be available for us. I reconfirmed that the day before, and again two hours before arrival. Needless to say, when we arrived none were available and 3 of the 4 tables had just been seated. Bad way to start! Our server, Katie was absolutely wonderful; friendly, knew the menu well, and very thorough. We ordered martinis from the bar but they were out of the first call choices. The drinks delivered were a bit watery, I would image they shook the martinis in shaved ice vs cubes which produces a lot of water. We started out with escargots, which is a signature dish that we have had on many prior occasions. Both our orders were terrible; a bit rubbery and swimming in water and lemon juice vs garlic and butter. Very disappointed. My wife’s first entrée choice, Sperry’s signature bone in Ribeye was not available(not sure how a high end steak restaurant lets that happen), so she took Katie’s recommendation on the NZ rack of lamb. I ordered the 6oz bacon wrapped filet rare based on recommendation. We both opted for the Wedge Salad vs the salad bar; again a huge disappointment. The Wedge should be served crisp and ice cold with a great blue cheese. What we received was a room temperature Wedge that was full of water. Furthermore the blue cheese was very thin and bland. The entrées were their only saving grace, as both were cooked perfectly, and they were flavorful and wonderful. Not a special dinner for sure, and with an all out of over $ 212.00 for two, not inexpensive. Sperry’s must really step up their game. This was our 7th visit this year, but the experience is going from great to bad. With the many new excellent restaurants opening in Franklin almost weekly now, this old stand by better get to work, and fast.

Went there for dinner. The service was good and prompt. The waitress(Amanda) was great, listened to what I ordered and was extremely pleasant to deal with. Ask for her section. The food is a little in the high price side for what it is. But for where the location is, you can’t really go wrong. The ambience is a little loud when the restaurant is busy. It is suggested you get reservations at peak times and you should. Great bar that is cert social and well poured drinks. The local executives do hang out here. The wine selection is varied but is a little higher on the price end than it should be. But that is somewhat expected. If you can avoid a table by the salad bar or serving area as it can be bothy busy and noisy. Ask to sample their steak sauce before you commit. Their written explanation does not necessarily do them justice.

$ 100 for two filets. I am not one to complain about food often and I typically give benefit for a screw up but the entire table had undersized filets. If you are going to charge $ 40 for a filet make it stand at least 2.5″. Don’t give a thin filet. Very disappointed. Go to a Del Frisco to see a real steak.

Wonderful bone in filet. Great staff and food. Would recommend. The décor reminds me of a hunting lodge. Our waiter was very professional. Just a really great dining experience with my husband

Sunday Brunch Review: The coffee is amazing. The Oskar Benedict was phenomenal. The Brioche French Toast was too sweet and didn’t have enough syrup. The bread was a little cold and a little dry. The décor is very quaint.

Sperry’s has been n my list to visit for a while, and I’m glad I had the chance Togo for my mother in law’s birthday! Beginning, we tried to make reservations at 6, but the woman I called said that wasn’t possible, so we moved it to 730. We arrived early, about 7:10 and our table was ready for us. Perfect start! For the party of six, our server was Adrian and he was spectacular; refills, recommendations, and frequent but not annoying checking on us to make sure we were okay. Food: The salad was great; fresh, chilled, crisp lettuce, spinach, and mixed greens, the veggies were fresh and chilled; the kind that it’s almost too cold to eat. :-) I ordered the shrimp cocktail; warning: the shrimp are quite large and the cocktail sauce has a good amount of wasabi mixed it; cleared my sinuses out with one spoonful, but I’m not crazy about hot food. The ribeye; cooked to a medium perfection, melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness, with the fat left on and it was unbelievable. The grilled asparagus was nice and smoky, al dente and the lemon spritz was an awesome addition to lighten it up. The lobster mac and cheese, however was a disappointment. It tasted prepackaged and bland. I don’t order that again but everything else… absolutely!

My parents and their friends had a big group reservation for Valentine’s Day. The restaurant wasn’t able provide the dinner experience in a timely fashion — and most of the dinner party left the restaurant without eating. I called and spoke with Todd and Brian and was reassured the restaurant wanted to provide the best experience possible and they were terribly sorry about what happened. We reorganized the dinner and Sperry’s took excellent care of everyone. I appreciate their effort and their remedy. A restaurant — big or small — doesn’t have to circle back to make nice but they certainly did and it made an big impact on everyone’s experience. Sometimes things don’t go as we plan — but how we handle the problem matters. Thanks Sperry’s — my folks and their friends will come back. I’ll come in when I visit them.

Just like the rating, Sperry’s was ok. We had reservations so of course we were seated right away. It took some time to see a server, but not too long. The décor felt a bit old. It reminded me of an old restaurant chain that I grew up around called steak and Ale. It was cool back then, but feels dated now. It was my birthday, so this is the once-a-year steak that I order. So, you can be sure that I was expecting a stellar experience. I ordered the«Queen» portion of the prime rib. This was once my favorite cut, but I’m starting to think I may have grown out of it. The steak was dry and overcooked. I ate about half of it and then realized that I should have been done a few bites prior. The potato was fine, but it was a potato. My son said his burger was fine and my wife ordered shrimp and grits. In this part of the world, S&G is done well at many establishments. Her comment on this one??? Meh! This is not the worst place I’ve been, but as pricey and proud as they are with their food, it should have been much better. It was my first time and I’m pretty sure it was my last.

So average it was painful. Terrible décor, terrible salad bar, and average cuts of meat. The halibut was above average however. The service was actually very good, but not good enough to save a $ 100 bill for two that felt like it should’ve been $ 50. At this price point, J. Alexander’s is so much better it’s almost laughable, and about a mile away. Lesson learned…

Sperry’s is a traditional steak restaurant with dark woods and leather ambiance you’d expect from a 40yr old establishment. We had an excellent filet dinner again. The steak was cooked medium rare perfectly to order, and the service was excellent. Bananas Foster cooked table side was excellent too. The food never disappoints. The only quirky aspect of Sperry’s is the salad bar — just seems out of place to have a bottomless salad bar at a high end steak place, kind of 1970s-ish. But you can also get salads made to order. There are plenty of great steak restaurants in the Nashville area that are worthy of our dollars. We continue to eat steak at good places all over town, but Sperry’s continues to hold its own. Highly recommended.

Old school, as in there just aren’t many of these any more. And there is probably a reason. Or several, as in Kayne Prime, Bob’s in the Omni, and many other restaurants in Nashville that represent more quality options for your higher dollar dining wishes. There were a few really bright spots. The crab cakes were among the best verse sampled. The BBQ shrimp and grits were flawless and full of flavor. And… half price wines on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, so a good wine list at reasonable prices. Problems: Prime Rib was below average. How are you a old school steakhouse with below average prime rib? Sides were unimaginative. We had the portobello mushroom and twice baked potato. Neither beat my kitchen, a cardinal rule for me. and the world famous salad bar was below Ruby Tuesday, a place I detest. Dessert was an $ 18 banana foster for two where our waiter had trouble with the table side equipment, resulting in warm sugary bananas that were less than they should have been. Maybe that’s a one-off, but still. Bottom line? $ 150 dinner that was ok. I won’t be back. Too many killer options to get to. I violated my number one rule. If they have a sneeze guard, I don’t eat there. And I paid for it.

I’ve eaten here several times. No meal has ever been great. The food is average and expensive. The portions are a good size. The sauces are all very strong, so I recommend getting them on the side. All the food is very rich and heavy. The salad bar is great and tastes fresh. We’ve ate dinner and Sunday brunch several times. Both are about the same. Tonight I had the steak frites. The meat was very fatty and each piece was cooked to a different level of medium to rare. I prefer more consistency. French fries are good and so is the trout almondine. The brownie dessert is good. The strawberry cake is better. The bread could be a little browner as it looks like it isn’t done. The restaurant is dark and intentionally looks old even though it’s fairly new in Cool Springs. Excellent service and food is timely. Nice bar area. Sit by the fireplace in the winter.

This place was recommended by our hotel for their dinner and brunch. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The décor was that of a traditional steakhouse and seemed quite«fancy» with the plate and silverware settings. Being that it was close to noon, I opted to go with their brunch menu and went with their belgium waffle with strawberries. The waffle was fantastic. The waffle was soft(just the way I like my waffles) and the strawberries were fresh. The coffee here is amazing. We had at least 4 cups of it and took some to go. Our waiter Von was exceptional and made our experience very memorable. Through conversation, we found out that it was first day on the floor as a waiter but you would never know by his attentiveness and customer friendly service. If you decide to visit please make sure you ask for Von. He made our experience outstanding. Overall we will definitely visit this place again when we are in the area.
