I am from Az. We eat cheese crisps there. This is the only place in the south I’ve found that has them. Very good. The sopipillas w carnitas meat are excellent. Queso is very good. At the end they bring sopipillas w honey that are fantastic. Best Mexican place in the south !!

Restaurant looked promising with the reviews on here and looked nice on the outside. Inside décor was nice. Music was wayyyy too loud. Service was okay. Girl was nice but not attentive. Chips were cold with no salt or flavor. Salsa was pretty good with a nice spicy chipotle flavor. We got the queso which was nearly cold when we got it but it came out quick. Got our food in good time. We got the chicken relleno and the blue corn chicken enchiladas. I was really worried when I got the blue corn enchiladas because it was neon blue. No food should be neon blue. I didn’t ask questions just figured it was some weird gimmick the restaurant does and didn’t eat the tortilla. Food was okay. Sort of bland and boring. Nothing to go back for. They gave us free sopapillas at the end which we took home and ate later. Popped in the microwave and added the cinnamon and honey to them. Honestly was the best part of their food we ate.

Absolutely horrible take out service. I called in my order, confirming the items needed twice. The waitress said it would be 15 – 20 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes after the order was placed, only to have to wait 15 more minutes.(They also charged me $ 2.50 for chips and salsa because I only ordered one entrée– SERIOUSLY??) They left off the drink from my order. When I finally received my food I got home to find the wrong dressing on the salad as well as the wrong meat. The bar area was not busy and clearly the incompetent wait staff need to learn to pay attention. I will never order take out from here again– thanks a lot!

The food here is consistently good however the wait-staff and associated ‘managers’ are fair less than competent. My son and I just returned from dining there on a Saturday night and had ‘Garrett’ as our waiter. Garrett started strong bringing us our drinks quickly and taking our order. That’s where he hit the wall. Now understandably if he is new I can see how poorly he managed his tables and if that is the case management should not have him working Saturday nights. I ordered a margarita and twenty minutes later had to ask Garrett where it might have evaporated to. Minutes later it was brought out by someone form the bar-staff. After being served our meal our waiter slid by ten minutes into it to ask how everything seemed, mine was missing the green sauce which he gladly retrieved. After that Garrett was seen walking quickly by, spending an inordinate amount of time at the register, and then coming by to say that our check is one its way. Number one I never requested the check, two our dirty plates sat in front of us for twenty minutes, and we were not offered any dessert/coffee. I asked for a dessert menu and requested he clear our plates. He took our plates and left the guacamole bowl, chips, empty margarita glass, salsa, chips, and of course our two water glasses which had sat empty since he first refilled them. The female manager came by and placed our bill on the table blankly saying she will come back when we are ready. I awoke her by announcing that I never asked for the check, desired dessert, and never had our table cleared. She said she was sorry left and another waiter came and cleared everything but our empty glasses, never offered to be re-filled again. The manager returned processed our check and said have a nice night as she handed it to me. Now during the entire meal I was monitoring the managers, one male and the other female, actually stopping the male to request napkins and silverware for the table. The managers, you would expect, are tasked with amongst other quality assurance duties of monitoring the patrons and the service; apparently not at this restaurant. The male spent most of the 90 minutes we were trapped there cruising between the hostess stand and the register while the female was routinely observed entering and exiting the kitchen.(Editors Note: I typically do not monitor restaurant managers but in this case I was focused on the lack of service that you would expect from this restaurant). All in all very disappointed with the management and wait-staff at this restaurant and will not be returning.

Good but not great during our most recent visit. Chicken burrito was lacking chicken and had more peppers than anyone could ask for. Service was very slow on drinks. Makes me wonder if chef and manager may be different. Still ok but did not measure up to past visits.

This place has 4⁄5 stars? That’s surprising. We had a reservation last night at 7:30. We waited for our table for 45 minutes past our reservation time. The first two times we checked on the wait time, we were told they were waiting on a 6 top to be cleaned. The third time we asked, the hostess said, «oh you are not seated yet?» Oy. We were finally seated at a table in the bar section. I think they only had two servers waiting on eleven tables. The server was so nice, but you could tell he was stressed and I don’t blame him. They comped our guacamole, which was nice. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. My shrimp quesadilla was extremely greasy. Everyone else liked their entrees(baja tacos, another quesadilla). We were not particularly impressed. I doubt we go back.

Had my brother’s rehearsal dinner here last night in the massive party room… I have no complaints! The staff did an amazing job keeping up with our huge crowd. We had a fajita bar, which was phenomenal — the meat was so juicy and flavorful, the veggies cooked to perfection, and the corn tortillas tasted just like home(San Antonio). I was initially NOT excited to have a margarita because I’ve literally NEVER had a good margarita in Tennessee. Hailing from San Antonio makes me a bit of a margarita snob. ITWASGOOD!!! I was so impressed! The only margarita that was included in the drink options for the rehearsal was the Sopapilla Margarita(the house margarita with standard tequila) so that’s the only one I tried. I gave this place 4 stars only because I don’t feel I’ve had enough of a taste of the menu to say it’s the best, but I HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHISRESTAURANT for those looking for delicious Mexican fare in the Nashville area. I will DEFINITELY return if I have the chance!

This place is amazing! Great food and AMAZING service! Chad was a great waiter and super helpful! This is a restaurant that is accommodating to allergies. I am gluten free and the fact that they can make just about anything on the menu gluten free is incredible. We started off with our free queso, which was the best I’ve ever had. Chad suggested the quesadillas. I had shrimp and my friend had the chicken fajita. They were delicious! We will definitely be back!

Got the beef and chicken tacos. Nothing to write home about. Would much rather be back in Nashville at mas tacos or bar taco. Quesos pretty good and salsa great.

I was very exited to come and try this place since Mexican food is on our top list. Sad to give them two stars but here is why. We checked in on what it seemed to be a slow Sunday around noon. Gave us a pager to let us know when the table is ready. We waited outside since it was a nice day. Several patrons came in and did not waited. Probably they had reservations.(I truly want to believe that) After about 15 min my wife went back in to ask about our table. They said it’s getting clean and we got our table. To me it seemed they forgot about us. Now to the restaurant. Floors were full of crumbs and not clean at all. Table was also not really clean. They have a glass base with a candle. This glass base is really dirty. The food. This is not by any means Mexican food and the name on the dishes should be directing you more towards Tex Mex food. The salsa was very strong on cumin. Leaving a not so pleasant after taste. Chips from the bag. We had the trio dip as an appetizer. That was good. Guacamole was fresh. My carnitas were pure pulled pork. Nice presentation but all tasted sweet. The chicken quesadilla that my son had was good. My wife had a smoker with tamale taco and enchilada. All on the sweet side. Two stars for the house margarita which was pretty good and the dip sampler. Good place for a margarita.

When it comes to Mexican food, I prefer Southwestern and New Mexican in particular. Blue corn tortillas, green chilies and fried egg toppers characterize this cuisine and Sopapilla’s brings this food to Nashville, TN. Fresh salsa and the before mentioned foods make for flavorful dishes with a touch of spice. In particular I enjoy the enchilada’s covered in in green chili sauce. i never need a desert because every meal comes with sopapilla and honey as a closer.

My coworker friend needs a gluten free menu so this is one of our lunch spots when we are in the area. They offer a separate gluten free menu so she can have a great lunch. I’ve also dined here for lunch with my husband. The meal starts with chips and salsa like most Mexican restaurants. The chips are usually very good. I’ve only had a stale batch once. I’ve also ordered the guacamole and the chile con queso to go with the chips and like them so much that it’s hard to decide sometimes. For entrees I’ve had the chile poblano and stuffed sopapilla. It is hard to say which is my favorite. The chile poblano is slow roasted chicken with poblano pepper, rice and black bean corn relish. The stuffed sopapilla is slow roasted chicken in a pastry shell. They are both very delicious. I would recommend reservations. It is a pretty big restaurant and we’ve been lucky at lunch but I bet it is much harder to get a table for dinner. The service is usually great. There was one day it took us an hour and half and couldn’t wait any longer on the dessert sopapilla.

Went here for the first time Friday night and loved it. My wife and I started with cocktails which were great. She had the regular mojito and I had the apple cinnamon mojito. Both were very good. I would recommend the apple cinnamon if you want something sweeter. I preferred the regular. The table side guacamole is very good although I wish they would give you more of it. It’s a very small portion. I had the shredded chicken tacos with black beans and rice. It was excellent. I would definitely recommend getting it. The service was very average. It took them a long time to get us drinks and someone we were with had to remind the waitress he still hadn’t received his at one point.

I was very surprised with this restaurant. It was a last minute decision to eat here. We’re from out of town visiting for the weekend and saw it had good Unilocal reviews so we thought to give it a try. The atmosphere is very unique. It decorated very modern and cozy. Great place for a date. It seemed pretty upscale by the décor but everyone was dressed fairly casual.(Something about the atmosphere reminded me of bonefish). They offered a free queso for checking in with Unilocal. The chips and queso were delicious. It was also a generous serving. We didn’t finish it all. They had great margaritas and I am picky about my margs. Their mojito was mediocre but still good. And the food was delicious. What I was most surprised by was the price. Free chips and salsa plus the free queso, two entrees and two drinks was only about $ 40. Very reasonable. I will definitely be back!

Best chicken tacos I’ve ever had. I really liked this place! They were able to accommodate our group of 20 on short notice and I was impressed by the food selection. The drinks were great! I had the Tres Tacos, with shredded chicken, shrimp and shredded beef. The restaurant was extremely accommodating to our friends that are gluten free and steadily supplied chip alternatives!

We’ve eaten here three times and the place has gotten worse each time. First time there was slow, and service was decent. Last two times we’ve been seated in the bar side. If you go here, try to avoid getting seated on the bar side. Service is terrible. We do like the salsa here. Cheese dip tastes like Velveeta and is bland. We got the carnitas and they were shocked that we would ask for tortillas to go with it. Meat had little flavor. Mexican street corn is quite good. You get free sopapillas for dessert with honey, chocolate sauce and cinnamon powder to top. These are good. Be sure to ask for the chocolate and cinnamon because some servers bring out just the honey. Food is OK, but the service is terrible. Tables all around us were griping about their service. It’s hard to understand why the service is so bad because they have many servers, bartenders and managers. What is the problem??? I asked our server if she had tables on the other side. She said no but that she had to run food to some of those tables. She was just awful. I can’t recommend this place anymore. BTW, thanks to Unilocal for the free cheese dip. If you checked in with Unilocal, you got a free cheese dip.($ 7 value!)

Loved every bite! My parents took me here and we started with the dip sampler which included warm bean dip, guacamole, and a cheese dip. All three dips were on point! I love to ask servers what their go to’s are and she recommended the Shrimp Quesadilla, the shrimp is marinaded in chipotle and honey. it was delicious! To end the meal we shared a French pressed coffee and free Sopapilla’s that you can drizzle honey or chocolate over. Serves was great as well.

I’m from Phoenix. My gal pal is from Albuquerque. Man, it’s been a struggle to find food that tastes like HOME in these parts. And then whaddya know? We stumble on this place and find out the OWNER is from the desert too. NOPRESSURE, right? Well, truth be told I LOVED it! When was the last time you had creamy QUESO? And the salsa .you won’t believe this… but it was ACTUALLY spicy. I mean, it had some KICK there, junior. I had to ask for some more water from my server who did a GREATJOB taking care of us. Have you ever had BLUECORN enchiladas? Oh wow… these were delicious! The chicken is juicy and generously blessed with GREENCHILES. Nom nom nom. And holy cow, I haven’t seen GREENCORN tamales on the menu in a zillion years. One of my favorites! Forget ground beef, order the SHREDDEDBEEF Tacos.(sidebar: someone please explain why you put hamburger meat in tacos around here… It’s like the antithesis of a taco, ya know). All of it was very very GOOD. The meat is ROASTED perfectly, it’s JUICY, and just soaks up all the wonderful FLAVORS. The complimentary sopapillas were nice. But I think it was too ‘dough-y’ compared to what I grew up with. Also, the chips could use more salt and less oil. But who cares about all that when you find blue corn.anything.and in a really CLASSY spot like this. Sign me up for the Sopapillas Spokesperson committee. I’m on board.

We arrived starving(our quoted wait time was probably off by 20 minutes unfortunately) so I decided to use the free queso with a Unilocal check-in voucher. I have to say, it was AMAZING. Gooey, velveeta-y cheesy goodness. I ate so much I could barely put a dent in the Santa Fe Salad I ordered– I guess that’s what you get for overeating on the app and arriving famished. From what I had, the salad was still pretty good. Very fresh. While the service was spotty, I definitely would be down to try it out again.

Love this place. Last night was my 2nd time to go there, and the food was excellent both times. The first time I went I had the blue corn chicken enchiladas which were great. Last time I split the dip sampler with my husband. He got the chicken burrito al carbon, and I got the mini chicken chimichangas and the Mexican street corn. The chicken is all white meat, very tender, and excellent quality. The cheese dip is awesome. It actually tastes like real cheese. Sometimes I never know what I’m getting with«cheese dips». The Mexican street corn has a unique, smoky flavor and is unlike any other I’ve ever had. The service is great. Our server last night, Angel, was very accommodating. I was freezing at a table right by the door and she moved us to a warmer area. She always anticipated our needs-bringing more salsa and drink refills before we had to ask for them. I’ll definitely be back!
