Clean restaurant with lots of wood, good lighting, food was average, service not so much, forgot my oj, never brought more Splenda to the table — longer waits for an virtually empty restaurant. I love good food, clean establishment but the service always makes the experience.

Super yummy food! I had their Monterey bacon & avocado Benedict. The jalapeño corn cake was delicious! My husband had the biscuits and gravy plate. He says also tasty! Service also friendly and the place was clean.

We love this place! We used to go to the Brentwood location before moving, and now the Franklin location is closer. Not sure why this location has bad reviews. We were seated promptly and received our order quickly. Great service and great food as always. It’s fun to have a choice of coffee(I always get hazelnut and my husband likes the dark roast). The pancakes are the best– so filling and creative! I always have leftovers for the next day. Also, the ranch potatoes are amazing! My favorite breakfast place in Nashville(even though we live 10 min from loveless!).

Even though we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, our server made up for it by taking our food order right away. I had the eggs Benedict which were good but needed more Hollandaise. My dining companion said his eggs and bacon were great. The waitress, Erica was very attentive and pleasant to talk with. Ask for her if she’s working when you go!

I don’t know why this place only has three stars! I have to do my part to lift their rating. This may be my families new favorite breakfast place. The kids each got the bear pancake and it was absolutely delicious. I got the Texas scramble based of our servers suggestion and it was spot on. The steak was cooked to perfection and the eggs were perfect as well. The combination of all the flavors in the scramble left me thrilled. My wife got the Persian Benedict and she said it was spectacular. Last but not least the coffee and kale cooler was amazing also. We love this place!

This was my first time here with some family and it was an average experience. The problem was that the place wasn’t even that crowded but it took us 15 minutes for us to get our drinks. The menu was pretty extensive and I got the Parisian benedict which was pretty lacking and all the food had pretty small portions.

The food was excellent! And the service wasn’t too bad either. We did however wait forever for our meals. Yes, we were a party of 8 with kids but the previous reviews stated they received their food rather quickly. So, I’m just stating that we didn’t in case, others are looking for quick service. Also, when we walked in to place our names on the wait list, we were told 20 minutes. We did notice that there were only a few parties in there dining while the front area had no seating room for people waiting for a table. Again, the food was great.

I’m an avid tea drinker and having a pot of hot water provided with a chest of teas from which to choose was a treat. My husband, however, passed on the coffee since the price was $ 2.70! That seems a bit high for a breakfast place. Pancakes are the size of a frisbee! Food was served promptly.

Okay, I have no idea what some of these people are talking about. They’re probably just grumpy people in general. Oh well. This place is pretty delicious. I’m not kidding. Now, I haven’t ordered every meal ever, obviously, but I’ve had a few different ones and a few of the same ones twice in a row. They have these potatoes that come with almost every plate I’ve had, I think. Wow! They’re really really great. They’re nothing special, no cheese, just seasoning, but they’re great! I promise. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and the first time we went, she ordered some sort of veggie eggs benedict and I ordered some TexMex styled dish. We both had those potatoes I told you about, and my food was really good. But then I made the mistake of trying hers. Wow!!! That eggs benedict is the best best best most delicious plate I’ve had there. I’m not sure exactly what it’s called but it’s a vegetarian dish. Trust me. It’s a great place. Sometimes the wait is 5 – 10 minutes on a Sunday morning or something.(My girlfriend didn’t let me have any more after I tried hers. I had to order it for myself the next time we went.)

I had breakfast here with a friend this morning. We both got the Vera Cruz Meal which is a large Omelette with peppers, onion, avacado and tomatoes. It came with an English muffin and a side of fruit. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is nice. The service was efficient but cold. Both the server and the hostess were prompt but there was no warmth or personality. For that reason I removed a star. I just feel like when you are in a customer service job it doesn’t hurt you to smile and engage your clients.

Three of us had breakfast. I had the Mexican Olé eggs. Scrambled eggs were overcooked and there was so much salsa that it drowned the multitude of potatoes underneath. I couldn’t find the chorizo in the salsa… too little! So I ordered crispy bacon after I was finished with the eggs. It came well cooked but cold. My husband had the egg white vegetable omelet and the eggs were overcooked as well. We are allergic to gluten and disappointed that they didn’t offer gluten free toast. They need to work on their culinary arts.

The food here is fresh and comes fast to the table. They offer something for every breakfast lover. Omelets scrambles pancakes waffles and even English muffins. I always make a custom Omelet and even though it’s different each and every time it’s still perfect every single time. One tip… their salsa his served hot so if you’re like me and like salsa cold just request it and the kitchen will put some in a blast chiller and have it right out to you.

This restaurant has the worst service ever! They did not get our coffee out until 45 minutes after we ordered it.

The egg and I is a solid breakfast choice. The prices are fair and the menu has a pretty decent amount of choices. I normally go for the huevos rancheros or one of their Mexican themed breakfasts and they have all been good.

This restaurant smells like old, sour maple syrup. It’s been ten hours and I can still smell it. The food was terrible. I have no clue how this restaurant is in business. The eggs were mushy, slimy, and very watery. I took a few bites, but the flavor was so bad I couldn’t eat anymore. I just can’t understand how a restaurant that specializes in cooking eggs can be so bad at it. The potatoes were also gross, tasted like old dirty potatoes that were microwaved. The coffee was really weak, too. It tasted like watered down tea. I just can’t stress enough how bad this restaurant is. Even the flower in the case on our table was dead. Stay away!!! I will say, the waiter and manager were very nice and friendly.

Wow, horrible experience. The kitchen obviously doesn’t have it together. They left empty tables to ease the kitchen(at 10:45, mind you) and it took 35 minutes for our first dish to arrive. Had to send back cold French toast and eggs that were not scrambled as ordered. Typically quick items on the fly, but everyone finished eating before they showed. Nothing special food wise. Manager took half of the check at least. Pros: Carafe to refill your beverage at the table Clean Our server was nice and prompt Cons: The kitchen and food

Very inconsistent, price value to quality and portion is so, so. Some times the food does not look anything like what you got the time before and waitstaff is all over the board from poor(Sunday morning servers, I don’t want to be here types, hungover) to great and attentive. Out of all the time we have been in never once has a manger stop over to see how they are doing(so they know it’s not good). With some effort the place could be Great, it all in the people, ownership rarely gets this right. I gave it a 3 because in comparison to other places in town it’s much better.

Quick lunch here today. First visit. I understand it’s a chain but I’ve never seen one before and I travel a lot, so that was a surprise. The décor is typical breakfast place… kind of like Perkins restaurants up north. The breakfast menu looked good but I opted for the Cobb Salad and a cup of cream of tomato soup. No complaints about the food at all, the salad was good and the avocado was just at the perfect stage. I ordered coffee and my server asked me if I wanted the house blend. I told her I don’t like strong coffee and she said that would be the best choice and she was right… good coffee! That’s important. I’ll go back here.

in the rapidly expanding world of breakfast bonanzas in Nashville, Egg and I isn’t rocking my world. In close proximity to Monells encouraging you to slap on some fried chicken for breakfast, Copper Kettle giving you mountains of desserts and J Chrstophers crushing the breakfast scramble, The Egg and i doesn’t really excel at anything. The lines on weekends are long, and the wait for food is also long. A girl wants her caffiene after a long wait and that didn’t happen. The portions were okay but the prices were about 20% higher than what it was worth. On the plus side, the ingredients were fresh, the place was really clean and fruit was great. If this were 5 years ago and they were all alone in the breakfast market, this would be a winner, but right now its just falling in the middle of a busy pack.

The breakfast is good. We’ll prepared and large enough portions. Plenty of choices and variety on the menu. Iced tea came with a small pitcher for the table which was great. I had a feta cheese, mushroom, and spinach omelette with potatoes and English muffin. My husband had scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. We both enjoyed our meal. The service was quick and friendly. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because the ambiance was not great. The dining area was muggy.
