3.5 stars. #2 pork roll sandwich hit the spot. Good thing we got there with no one else in line. Only one lady was ringing up orders and making the food. There was another guy preparing French bread dough and occasionally bringing the baking pans out to the front. We ordered 6 sandwiches: pork roll, BBQ chicken, and combo(pork roll, ham, cured ham?). It took about seven minutes to make them, but more customers arrived during the process and they had to wait to order. Sandwiches come with the usual cucumber slices, jalapeño slices, cilantro, carrots, and daikon. There was a smear of that tasty Viet butter/mayo. Glad there wasn’t too much though. Pork roll was satisfactory, it had 3 thin, overlapping rectangular slices. Kind of skimped on portions, IMO, but for $ 3.25 it was filling. Their heated display cases normally filled with egg rolls, banana triangles, fried shrimp balls, etc. were off and completely empty. There wasn’t much to see at the counter aside from a few whole pork rolls wrapped in banana leaves, some pork buns, and a few other items. The French bread is super white, lots of bleached flour? Sandwiches are alright.

I love the sandwiches here! The bread is fresh and crunchy. The people working are relatively nice and patient.

This review is kinda bittersweet for me. I love the food here but the service here is ehhh. So first off make sure that when you do come here you bring cash, this place has yet to step up their game and take card. So that is a downer, I’m sure they would get a lot more business if they were to start taking card. Second service is not too great, I’m not sure if it’s because there are only two people working there at a time or that they don’t want to stop what they’re doing till it’s done to come and take your order. Other than that you either get a really sweet older lady or a really nice guy that comes up takes your order and asks you about your day. So my main reason of coming here would be to get their iced Vietnamese coffee, I am absolutely obsessed with it. I really can’t find it like that any where else. When it comes to their sandwiches they are not shy to stuff it with meat, or whatever else you add onto it. I usually get a turkey and cheese on a baguette with salami and avocado added on. They make sure you get what you pay that’s for sure. I love that they always have fresh bread baking in the oven. Make sure you at least stop and get a fresh baked baguette at least!!!

After reading other Unilocal reviews, I just stopped by to get some hot baguettes for curry. Came @ 9:30 a.m. Friday morning and the baguettes were indeed fresh out of the oven :). The man at the counter was friendly, but the place was dimmed and very warm(even for a cold November day). Also, it still has the Lee’s sandwich menu and other relics of the past. I would recommend coming early(for the bread, so it’s fresh) but can’t say anything about their sandwiches and drinks.

Super cheap. It’s not often you can find a sandwich under $ 5. Sandwich is good. Bread tastes fresh. Not a very big sandwich but for the price I’m not complaining. I also tried the spring rolls but those weren’t so great. They were sitting out on the counter instead of in the fridge so I think that’s why they didn’t taste so fresh. It had kind of a stinky smell every time I bit into it but it still tasted fresh. The atmosphere is kind of messy. Doesn’t feel like they ever finished making it. The store front windows aren’t clean so it gives a bad first impression. CASHONLY is inconvenient. In this day and age I’m surprised these places even exist.

Foodb is pretty decent. Got the laulau and kalua pork combo. One note. Applies to all l&l locations. They need to stop with the very cheap flimsy plastic utensils. Its such a pain in the butt to eat with flimsy forks thats always bending when you apply any amount of pressure. Seriously it makes eating at l&l frustrating. Noticed this the last 2 times visited different locations.

Super fresh, got here exactly 7am. The bread was freshly out of the oven. Can’t get any better than that. I ordered the grilled pork sandwich #5. The price was decent for $ 3.50. The bread was on the thinner side, not the usual vietnamese sandwich that has a lot of meat and bread. But it was still good. They didn’t take long to make it, but still waited for 10 mins. since they just opened. Also, i got their ice coffee. It was really strong and creamy, which was a plus. Definitely recommend getting it, next time I’m here again.

Pork sandwich– 3 stars Grilled chicken sandwich — 2 stars The pork sandwich was not bad. The grilled chicken although did not«taste like chicken». The best thing about this sandwich shop was the outside seating. The out tables are under a pergola and opposite side of the building away from the sun. We had Emily with us and it was perfect to relax for lunch with her in the shade. The owner is also a dog owner/lover and liked petting Emily.

Cold baguettes with a «hot baguette» sign. Very cold ingredients. I know they keep them refrigerated but they shouldn’t be noticeably cold as you bite into it. Slow service with only 2 customers in the restaurant.

I remember when this was a Lee’s sandwich shop. Not sure when they left but I do like this place. Great place to get some fresh baguettes. $ 1.50 for a fresh 3ft baguette! I always get a sandwich on one of these baguettes. Did someone say fresh bread? Lol. They don’t say that but it is fresh and delicious. Expect to wait if there are a few people in line since there are only a couple employees here to take and make your order.

I’ve been here many times. I go solely for two reasons. 1) The bread is good 2) It’s by my house. Other than that, it’s very slow, kind of a dive, little meat on the sandwiches, and bring cash because it’s the only way to pay. Not far away is Huong Lan Sandwiches which is not exceptional but a better option.

This is by far the best Vietnamese sandwich shop we have tried. The french bread is fresh and crunchy, the meat is delicious(grilled chicken) and their prices are cheap. What else can you ask for?! The milk shakes are amazing! T&D is worth the drive from San Ramon to Fremont. We have never been disappointed. FYI-cash only! Also, plan on take-out, since this place is a little hole in the wall, with a really pretty salt water fish tank. You can enjoy watching the fish while you wait for your sandwiches. :-)

I used to frequent this place a lot when my mom tells me to buy her sandwiches from here for her coworkers. This is before Lee’s opened a store directly across from where my mom works. When it was Lee’s, the bread was fresh. After the name changed, the quality had deteriorated. Even when they take the bread out of the oven when you order a sandwich, it’s obvious that the oven was turned off. The bread was stale and cold. One time I was there, the cashier was handling cash, prepping dough and packing baked bread with the same pair of gloves. I’ve never went back since then. To be honest, their eggrolls are really good. They even give price breaks if you order a certain amount. Yes, their eggrolls are smaller than King Eggrolls, but the price is cheaper and it actually has meat inside the eggrolls. King’s is just cabbage.

Great service, we wanted to sit outside, but that section was closed, they opened it for us, so sweet! We’re a trio of old gals, timid to try new things. They made us feel welcome & suggested a few items, everything was so delicate & delicious. Be prepared for spicy. We loved the somosa & tomatoe soup!

Short and sweet. Dirty, slow, and cheap. They hardly put any meat on the sandwiches. This place has gone so far downhill since it was a Lee’s.

Man, this place is divey. This was a Lee’s(Viet sammie chain) at one point and the new owners kept the concept, including the original menu board, huh?! Plus it looks like the place was somewhat dismantled and never put back together. I was never really big on Lee’s to begin with, but that is not to say that the place has no perks. The Pros: First and foremost is the bread. They bake a regular but legit French baguette on the reg here so the bread is incredibly fresh, all day long. 60% of the sandwich experience for me IS the bread, and this place straight up delivers. The interior is fresh and clean, while the crust has a slight crunch that won’t crumble all over the place. I often get a thin loaf here for a measley buck fiddy and stuff it with my own quality ingredients, Westphalian ham, gouda or whatever I have in my fridge. I don’t get too many sammies here only cuz I don’t dig the quality of meats here, just like Lee’s. The Ham n Cheese is safe however, even though they use American Cheese(gasp!). The sardine banh mi is legit as they use a decent sardine that they warm up and is quite conducive with the pickled veggies, cilantro and jalapeño. And a foot long is around 3 bucks, so I can’t talk too much smack about that. And the Vietnamese Iced coffee is money here, as they use the strong and proper Café du Monde brand with condensed milk and crushed ice, which to me, makes a difference. An iced coffee with one of their light sandwiches is pretty much on damn point. Everything else I just ignore, cuz I’m scurred. Scurred of that thin sliced, weird textured Asian cold cuts. 3 stars for the bread. 1 star for the iced coffee. Boom.

Cash only! We come here all the time to get our bánh mì fix. Their baguettes are so good and everybody knows that good bread is key to a good sandwich! Warm, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect! And they are always pulling more fresh bread out of the oven. It’s the best when you arrive just after they’ve made a fresh batch. Their ingredients are also tasty and fresh. We usually get #6BBQ Pork, or #1 Combination. The service is super fast so you are in and out in just a few minutes. The prices are also good so we will keep coming here forever and ever :9

Located inside a moderate sized shopping plaza off of Mowry. Parking is not an issue as they share a lot with the other nearby stores. This Vietnamese sandwich shop is big — plenty of seating inside and out… but it was dead empty when we came in, on a weekend! The sandwiches are reasonably priced(most were around $ 3) & flavored well. Unfortunately, they messed up our order, which is quite funny & sad because we were the only customers in there. They are also cash only, which can be inconvenient. It was tasty and the price was right, but we weren’t all too impressed.

T&D used to be Lee’s Sandwiches, for all those Lee’s Sandwiches lovers out there. II must admit, they have the best baguette in comparison to all the other viet sandwiches shoppe. My favorite is their #11 thit nguoi with cha. YUMMMIE! I loveeeee their super skinny and perfectly made baguette loaded with the goodies. Their Vietnamese coffee is absolutely amazing. If you are a dark coffee drinker like me, I tend to ask for very less milk(sua bo) and ‘super strong’. Last but not least, the owners are extremely friendly, too.
