My husband and I came here after a long day of activity. We were ready for a good meal, and Blue Spruce did not disappoint. I ordered the Caesar salad– amazing. One of the best I’ve had. It was very heavy on shredded cheese, which I didn’t mind. :) the dressing was delicious; very garlic-y, yet not overwhelmingly so. I then ordered a 6 oz filet, baked potato(the fixings come on the side) and the chefs veggie(seasoned mixed veggies). The steak, which I ordered medium, was cooked perfectly for me. The middle was perfect and even the ends of the steak were«medium»! Sounds easy but I feel that this is hard to come by. My husband ordered the house salad which he had no problem polishing off. He then had the NY strip, grilled, with a side of horseradish sauce. He was in heaven. His was medium rare and also cooked to perfection. All around a great homey place. Will definitely return next time I’m in the area.

Is there a zero star? This joint should be happy with that! I walked in to the bar and ordered the chili and a Breck bourbon on the rocks. The chili comes out COLD??? I send it back, and decide that I really don’t want anything that this place serves. Why would I? Ask for the bill, and the Breck bourbon is $ 10??? Really? The bottle is $ 40 retail. Next time I go to this place it will be under new ownership. DON’t bother. It sucks.

It is a quaint place, but I think their time has passed. The interior and the menu are dated and both need an overhaul. Our server, Brian, was very nice, professional and was the highlight of the meal.

I find myself extremely torn when writing this review because up until tonight I would have given this incredible steakhouse as many stars as possible; however, the treatment we received from the front of the house has made me question if we will ever return. After making a reservation two weeks prior, confirming the day before, and arriving on time we were told we would need to wait a bit longer. That’s fine, we’re all adults that know how the restaurant industry is full of unpredictables and we simply wish to be informed of where we stand. After a half hour, four tables being seated ahead of us, and a generally cold attitude from the hostess we were told to simply leave the restaurant if we didn’t want to wait. Twenty more minutes and a plea for a table another staffer told us to leave because he simply wasn’t going to seat us. Thankfully we got in touch with Alberto who was able to seat us and an incredible meal was finally underway. The king cut ribeye, sirloin, mussels, and calamari were incredible and our waiter Brian was absolutely impeccable. Thanks to them I can safely say that our five years of business will be turned into many more, even if we have to get our steaks in the back of the kitchen! I don’t think anyone has ever been as rude to me as the hostess and jerk with a man-bun but our meal was incredible all the same. Fix the issues up front and you have all my stars, every time.

Let me start by saying the food was flavorful and tasty. However, the presentation needs work– I’ve never had a $ 50 steak at a place that has paper napkins and serves condiments in plastic cups. That part was extremely tacky to me at a «nice» steakhouse. The hospitality was the biggest letdown. When we were seated, we were in an empty dining room and sat less than an arms length from the only other group in the room, in a table that wasn’t even built for two. We were awkwardly seated next to each other with no space to spread out and ended up talking to the group next to us(there was no way to avoid eavesdropping on each others’ conversation so we tried to make the best of it). I understand it was New Year’s Eve(we had a reservation) and so we asked to be moved to a more private table(there were 4 empty two tops). We were told no, that they were fully booked. Long story short, by the end of our dining experience there was one table that remained empty. VERYDISAPPOINTING. The owner was supposedly spoken to, but never came out to address any of the issues. When I go to an establishment of that supposed caliber, I expect to be treated with respect and not shoved in a corner and unaddressed. I would not go back or recommend this establishment.

It was my first visit to Blue Spruce and YUM! Keith really knows what he’s doing with his awesome staff — Alberto whipped up a delicious dinner!!! We started off in The Saloon side and fell in love with the atmosphere — so much that we even joked about hosting our wedding reception there. We transitioned to the dinner side for an unbelievably tasty meal — Steak Diane and the 12 oz New York Strip. I’ll definitely be back! Emmy Jo was awesome and entertaining! Thank you for the wonderful date night and celebration. I see the negative remarks on the breakfast buffet but that dinner was so delicious and the staff was amazing. Don’t change a thing! Can’t wait to make this my regular spot.

Went to Blue Spruce spent $ 70 for two easter breakfasts they were both terrible everything was ice cold. Staff didn’t seem to care at all. We will never return to the blue spruce!!! Too bad Unilocal doesn’t have a 0 star rating, 1 star seems generous.

Awesome service and food! Jamie gave us excellent service and recommended several dishes that we tried. Scallops tostada for appetizer, baked Brie, goat cheese chicken, even the house salad was excellent! Go early — they are wonderful.

We had a hankering for a meat meal and Blue Spruce delivered. A rustic log cabin atmosphere in the downstairs area, fireplace adding a sparkle to my wife’s eyes, and a good attentive server. We had elk and buffalo short ribs(had a spicy tomato sauce that was excellent). Very tasty and high quality. Reasonable prices. There is also a pub menu in the saloon(appetizers and burgers) with happy hour 4−7pm with half price beer and $ 3 off apps.

We asked a local for a recommendation where we could get some great steaks! The Blue Spruce Inn was one of his choices. Unfortunately, the front greeter was so shifty and unprofessional about getting us a table we finally had to realize she just did not want us eating at the eatery, she certainly tried very hard to make us feel unwelcome! lucky for us there are much better choices in Frisco, to spend our money. I would never recommend this eatery to anyone, service is not their priority, my experience tells me that is always a bad sign for the food as well!

After many years of eating at Blue Spruce, the meal I had there last night was simply«a bust.» It seems the quality of the food has slowly slipped over the years. With all the choices available in Summit County, I think it is time to find a replacement for our future dining experiences.

Went in for apps and drinks last night with friends. Sat in the bar area. One bartender and two waitresses on and not pressed for time. Nevertheless, it took ten minutes to get a beer refill. The apps(fired pickles, prefrozen as well as fresh chips and dip) came out quickly but were soggy and not appealing. Service remained slow and seemed disorganized. We had two different servers through our meal yet there were only three tables of patrons in the entire place. The servers themselves were blasé and uninterested in our presence. Not a smile in the group. The total feel of the place was very dull and not inviting. This was my third venture to the blue spruce, just to be ultra fair. I won’t be back. Shame because it has a great location.

4 stars? Really? Sorry, I can only go 3. The food was really just ok. My Caesar salad had some decidedly tired pieces of romaine and salty pregrated«Parmesan.» Both my husband and I got the trout which was just a tad overdone. Luckily, the sauces provided some moisture. The trout almandine sauce was flavored with Frangelico so it was sort of sweet. My son enjoyed his steak which they kindly served with fries vs the«daily starch.» How’s that for an appetizing description? I guess the breaker for me was being seated upstairs in a dreary dining room. Seems like the saloon would be a better choice as you can order from both the saloon and dining room menu. Nice server though!

I really enjoyed having dinner here with my husband and father. We had a great meal, in a great place. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I thought the owner/manager floating through the room talking to tables was a great touch. I will hopefully be back soon

We had a great experience. We tried the mussels and crab cakes both were great !!! Some of our party had steaks and love them. We also tried the goat cheese chicken and the fish n chips both were great. Service was ok but overall I would highly recommend the place.

Best French onion soup I have ever had. My husband had the prime rib. It was cooked to perfection. The trout was excellent as well.

My wife and I escaped while on vacation for a nice dinner for two and wanted a nice local restaurant and settled for the Blue Spruce Inn. We were seated upstairs and were surprised at how loud it was. The acoustics and the guests didn’t make for a romantic setting. This review is very difficult as the food itself was cooked perfectly… a medium steak came out a perfect medium. The pasta was a perfect al dente. It just all lacked any flavor whatsoever. The lobster pasta had red peppers, but you could tell that the peppers were not roasted and allowed to steep in the sauce, so you were left with a tasteless cream sauce. The lobster itself was great, but the shells should have been used to create some stock reduction to help flavor the sauce. It was all so close, but so far… very troubling.

Pretty solid American food in Frisco. The grilled trout was delicious and had a really nice flavor. The seared sesame tuna was pretty great as well with good quality fish and a fantastic basmati rice cake that had a very interesting flavor. The service was solid and prices were reasonable for the quality of food. The place has a rustic atmosphere and on a Friday night had live music.
