Best Chinese food in the area. We live in a neighboring city and make it a point to eat here at least once a month! We’ve been coming here for 10 years, and this is the only place for us. I have 4 picky daughters and this hits a home run every time!

The food was fantastic as well as the service. Both the owners were there and they made you fill right at home. Plenty of food and the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be back and highly recommend the Hot Wok Café for lunch or dinner.

I still prefer the Little Elm location, but the owner is now at this location and it this one is far more convenient for me since I moved east. Food is tasty and has got better recently(comparable to the original). If you want solid American style Chinese food, you can’t go wrong here.

All I can say is wow. I’ve tried a lot of Chinese restaurants, and this on by far is in my top 5%. I see why the head chef use to be Chuck Norris personal chef. Deserves way more stars than posted. This place was recommend by a couple of co workers. Only found it on Unilocal by typing in the name. I’m still eating the orange chicken and lomaine. Very large sizes. Job well done guys, I’m sold.

Very pleasant wait staff. Good food in generous portions on our lunch time visit. We had beef veggies and cashew chicken.

I guess the simple fact that they are still open for business earns them 1 star. Second time coming here in a span of a year, and I was wrong thinking it wasn’t that bad the first time around. The first thing you notice upon entering is a foul smell/odor and that they clearly do not use their air conditioner. On both visits, each one year apart, the a/c «wasn’t working». Unacceptable for a restaurant during the summer in Texas. The food is just gross. Mystery meat chicken served with the Gen Tso and the fried rice is not made to order and sits around all day. I watched them scoop the fried rice directly from the steamer/warmer by the register. I’m OK with hole in the wall type Chinese places coming from Baltimore, but when the food is as nasty as the physical establishment conditions, you know to run! Gross food, awful smelling restaurant, and no A/C… I don’t know how they are still in business!

We have ordered for delivery and each time food is good, hot, and on time. Each choice arrives fresh tasting and of a sufficient portion.

We went here around dinner time… 6:30 and the restaurant was completely empty. I ordered the wonton noodle soup. Very bland. I had to add a lot of soy sauce and sate to add some flavoring to it. The noodles weren’t the regular egg noodles you would normally get with it. The wontons were more flour than meat. The vegetables were broccoli, carrots and cabbage. It was not what I was expecting at all. My daughter got the kids chicken wing combo. The part she enjoyed the most was her French fries. I tried her fried wings. The wings were dipped into a batter and fried. No seasoning, no flavor, nothing. The fries had more seasoning and flavor than the chicken wings. As much as she loves chicken wings, she did not finish her meal. The staff was extremely nice though. The owner came up to us and had a real, full conversation with us. She always made sure our drinks weren’t empty and whenever we got up for anything, she was very helpful. Thumbs up on the staff. Thumbs down on the food.

First time here, and my first 1 star review. I’m struggling to find a positive other than the cheap lunch price, and friendly woman who took my order. 1. Dirty: they seriously need to clean this place. Dirty floors, greasy, etc. 2. Fried rice: perhaps from yesterday reheated? Gross… 3. Szechwan chicken: hardly has flavor, and not spicy. Debating on even eating what’s sitting in front of me.

Don’t bother. The only thing that we’d rate as being worthy of mention us the orange chicken. The pork fried rice was okay, but everything else was sub par — dumplings(the non-ginger ginger sauce was awful, too), sweet and sour chicken(soggy), and teriyaki beef(tough, tasteless, disgusting). And the search for good Chinese food in Frisco continues…

I walked in there with my 5 year old son around 4pm on a Thursday. I saw the owner sitting down watching TV and the entire place was empty. A female server came and asked what we would like to order. First I asked her,“Do you have California Roll?“She said, «No.» The reason why I asked her that because they used to carry it. I guess they had changed owners a while ago and they totally changed this restaurant from an «Asian food» place to a «Chinese food only „restaurant. Then my next question was, „Do you have Phở noodles?“ The female server answered,“Oh yeah, we had „FLAT“ noodles.“ She said it twice and I had no clue why she said they had „FLAT“ noodles, Phở does not = to Flat. What??? I don’t get it. Is there a communication problem here? Anyhow, I finally gave up and said I wanted their fried rice 5 meat special which was like $ 5.25 on the menu. She then told me that the fried rice special came in very small portion and it would not be enough rice for me and my son to share and she demanded I should order the „Large“ fried rice. I insisted on ordering the „fried rice special“ and I told her my son and I didn’t eat that much. So of course, when I received my fried rice, it was in a huge „wok“. It wasn’t like what she said, „it is not enough for both of you to share.“ My son and I ate ¼ of the rice and we gave up. I asked her for the bill and a doggie bag. When the bill came, not to my surprise, I saw the word, „L“(meaning large) next to my fried rice order. And she charged like almost $ 8 for that leftover tasting 5 meat fried rice. Before I left the restaurant, I over heard the male owner taking a phone order. After he took the order, he started talking to the female server in the restaurant in Cantonese(which I could understand every single word). The guy said,» The customer wanted me to take the rice out and charge him less money. That is so stupid, the rice is free. I am not charging him less money!“ They kept going on and on talking about how stupid the phone order customer was. At this point, I quickly left a $ 1 tip on the table(I wish I could just leave without the tip) and walked out. I promise I will not go back again. The rice was old and the meat tasted like leftover meat. As for service, it is the worst that I have ever experienced. She thought I don’t know her getting me a bigger order but I am not blind. Please don’t try to scam your customers because they will always write a «GREAT» review for you. Please stay away from this place. Poor service, fake Chinese food. Panda Express tastes much better, Panda do not have authentic Chinese food but their food is at least hot and fresh and they will not scam people like these Chinese crooks do.

Oh my. We are searching for a good chinese restaurant and tried this place for lunch. I like the location. They were nice people with nice service, but the food was just not good at all. We are eaters, and we did not eat our food. We just left it. The waitress asked us if we wanted a to go box and we both said no at the same time. So disappointed! It was just awful. An important note here, my son went to the restroom, and he said it was the worst ever. I have heard people say that if a restaurants restrooms are nasty that the kitchen might be as well. I don’t know if that is true. He was green around the gills when he came out! So disappointed! We are still looking for a great chinese restaurant here.

Sorry if I’m going against the other reviews here… We’ve lived in Frisco for over a year now. Being from Houston where Chinese food is king, I was pretty disappointed with the food here. Only thing that was decent is the general tso’s chicken. How could you go wrong on that? We also ordered kungpao chicken and peppered steak. Both meh and tasted like it was cooked in the same sauce. Don’t know if they not really trying because of the snow storm and all but I doubt I will make another trip to this place. I was pretty disappointed because it looked like it was sort of authentic being that it was family owned. I was actually going to complain about the food, but if the residents of Frisco accept it as «chinese food», what can I say. Gave 2 stars because of general tso’s.

Decent Chinese food. Dinner portions are very large and plentiful. Good value overall. Lotus on Preston/Wade seems to be better though.

I live in Frisco and this is my go to Chinese restaurant. The food is reasonably priced and service is always very good. Its located in strip mall and can be easy to be missed, but check it out its worth a try. Always have had a good meal. Update* Gonna have to slide them down a notch for what happened last night. ordered take out. Food came 35 min. later, driver didnt have enough change so i pretty much just gave up and took whatever change he had. On top of that i was missing some of my order. Food was good but next time i guess i will just drive over there instead of having it delivered.

I’ve only had their delivery so this review is based on that. Ordering over the phone was a piece of cake. I called and a very friendly, easy-to-understand voice answered. I was really impressed he got my address correct the first time I said it. I started giving him my order, ordering by number which is how I usually order Chinese food. After I said the first number I didn’t hear anything for a couple seconds so I started into the next number. That was when I heard him repeating the number back to me and saying the name of the dish so he could make sure he knew what I wanted. That made me feel really good :) One order of crab rangoon, one hot and sour soup, and one hunan shrimp totaled $ 18.00 and was at my door in less than 30 minutes. I’m always disappointed in crab rangoon because they never have enough crab, and these were no different. The hot and sour soup was awesome, but a little skimpy on the chicken. The hunan shrimp was really good but when the delivery guy handed it to me I noticed the majority of the sauce covering the bottom of my to-go bag. :(Even so, it was still plenty hot and spicy, and the shrimp were perfectly bite sized and tailless. In a pinch, I’ll order from these guys again. I think Golden Moon is better but more expensive.

This place is kinda hidden in a shopping center behind another building. The eating area is medium size but I have never experience a wait. The food portions are large enough for two adults to share and are served in a mini wok delivered to your table. Impressive if you’re on a date. My teenagers both get a different dish so I don’t order a dish I simply share with them. They also offer delivery service. BTW there is another Hot Wok in Little Elm, same owners but the service at that place really sucks!

A pleasant little chinese food restaurant tucked away in a strange north Frisco location. Very good food at a nice price. Worth going out of your way for.
