I drive by everyday and never noticed Tony’s, but my daughter and Istopped in today before church to get breakfast. I’m glad we did. We were greeted immediately, and seated with a drink by the same person. Our waitress was friendly, food was great. Now I have to bring my wife. Great family restaurant!

Great customer service but the food was lacking season. It’s a good spot for a cheap lunch since Black eyes peas closed down next door to it.

Food is okay but the service is even worst. This young blond waiter has no absolute manners. But most of the other staff are fine. She act like she don’t wanna be there

Got a coupon the mail for this place, and wanted to like it. It’s good olé’ home-cooking but lacked a bit in flavor for the brunch we had. Service was okay, and gravy a bit bland. Overall, it’s close to home, and not bad, so we’d try it again.

Average food and service. Nothing to write home about. Average time from order to food delivery has been about 35 – 45 minutes every time we’ve come here. I suggest just getting a simple breakfast or an omelet.

Been going to this restaurant for years, but will not be returning any time soon! Food quality has gone downhill, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. We went in this evening and ordered the catfish, which tasted frozen, not fresh. The tartar sauce clearly came out of a jar, and was horrifically sweet! When I informed the waitress she asked the cook to make some more and after 10 minutes, she brought us some freshly made tartar sauce that was worse than the first — completely inedible!!! All the waitress responded with was«sorry about that». REALLY miss the old crew and Miss Marilyn’s homemade tartar sauce. Open your eyes Tony and get some new cooks in your kitchen!

Good food but hours were not honored. Twice my group ate there and we were told both times the restaurant was closing early(8:30 p.m. versus 9 p.m. as posted on the door). Three stars for the inconvenience.

I ate here with a friend recently. I had meatloaf and he had chicken fried steak. The meatloaf wasn’t bad but it was more of a smothered steak than meatloaf. It was very moist though. My side was onion rings and 5 seems skimpy to me. The chicken fried steak was really thin and a bit tougher than my liking. But it was a real steak so kudos on that. The food was all well seasoned. The waitstaff was fine overall but seemed more interested in being able to leave the moment the place closed rather than checking guests out. I will go back if I’m in the area but I’ll order something different.

Nice place, way bigger in the inside that you would think. I ordered the breakfast special that was on the handwritten board this morning: 2-each eggs, sausage links, bacon, and pancakes with hashbrowns(or home fries or grits or tomatoes). The eggs were perfect, done as I requested, bacon was crispy, sausage links were boring, home fries were tasty, pancakes were forgettable. Waitress was very friendly and attentive without being annoying. Nice place.

Both food and service have declined here through our four visits. The last visit was the first one that faced a packed house, but included. — a flying insect bothering me and my food the entire visit. — a thirty minute wait for food when others got there’s in fifteen. — a two request, five minuite wait on tabasco while my eggs got cold. — Serious decline in food quality and portion size. I would be embarrassed to serve that plate at an elementary school free lunch program. — Pancakes came 10 minutes later than the rest of the food. — two ten minute periods where my coffee cup sat empty — diners eventually started getting there own. — Wife’s soda refill finally arrived as we were settling the check. — Obvious preferential treatment toward regulars. — A table to table marketing visit from a lady shilling for a local hearing aid company. — The weakest dishwater tasting coffee I’ve ever had in a retail establishment. … but the waitresses are nice, so there’s that, Garland/Richardson has too many options to put up with this.

If I ever was craving quick, simple Vietnamese food. I would go here. My best friend and I decided to grab lunch after class one day and us being food enthusiasts, we wanted to try somewhere new. It was fairly close by and we’ve always wanted to check it out. This restaurant was actually located inside the Saigon Mall down the street, so they decided to expand and relocate outside the plaza. It’s nothing extravagant. Just a nice little hole in the wall for a convenient bite.

Tony’s does an excellent job on breakfast. I have never eaten any meal other than breakfast.

Excellent service. Good prices. I orders the cali burger with onion ring. The burger was huge and the meat tasted like it came off a backyard grill. Yum! Onion rings were fresh and hand battered and huge. Would recommend this place to anyone who loves good food with good portions

Very good breakfast. Super nice and efficient wait staff. This is not the Mansion on Turtle Creek, and it is not trying to be; it is a good home-style diner– a dying breed. You will love this place.

I was excited to try this place beause of all the good reviews it has, but I have to say that I wasn’t that impressed. The place is huge, and there were hardly any people there at noon on a Tuesday which is usually a bad sign. The food wasn’t bad, just your typical Sysco stuff, very bland, but definitely nothing homemade like I was hoping. I had chicken fried steak, mac and cheese, and fried okra. Mac and cheese had absolutely no flavor, gravy was goopy and gross, and okra and steak had way too much breading. Service was not so great either. To be fair, from the menu it looks like breakfast on the weekends is their specialty, although I doubt I would go back.

This was the first time for my son and I to eat at Tony’s. The food was great and my son actually left with a fully belly(the boy can eat!). I had the angel hair pasta with chicken but instead of angel hair, they used regular pasta. The taste was still good but would have been better with thinner more delicate angel hair. My son had the Philly cheese steak and it looked yummy. I snagged one of his tator tots and it tasted great! We will definitely be back!

Second visit and so far everything has been like my grandma used to serve up. Ican’t wait to see how the third trip turns out.

Tony’s Diner is the former Gold Mine 2. We were regulars there and the menu is pretty much the same at this new and expanded location. We were glad to see that Marilyn, our favorite waitress in the DFW area, made the transition as well! Both the atmosphere and food are neighborhood family diner fare — reliable, filling, and reasonably priced, breakfast served all day. My husband’s favorite is the Meat Lover’s omelet and the pancakes are golden delicious. I bounce around the menu and they’ve made cheese nachos(off menu) for me a couple of times. We keep coming back. ‘Nuff said!
