I’m a fan of this place and have been for some years. My Wife and I initially ate at the college station location in about ten years ago. We were visiting a loved one who had just given birth. A beautiful experience indeed. We needed sustenance and I noticed this place is. We got inside and ordered our meals and have supported the restaurant ever since. This location in Georgetown is cool. It’s literally ticked away in Wolf Ranch plaza. I mean way back in the corner. I can say that we’ve never had a bad meal there. When working in the area I do my best to make a stop there. My food pretty much comes as expected. The flavor profile is good and nothing is burnt. My Wife and I love the house bread too. The place has daily lunch specials too. Good down home food with good service and decent prices.

I heard great things about their chicken fried steak, but I’m not so sure it was anything to rave about. Large portions for relatively cheap, but there’s a general lack of flavor. I can see myself back, but with an understanding of what I’m getting into.

Nice location with a great outdoor patio. Food 2⁄5 — mostly generic versions of southern classic cooking and pub food. It could be better if executed really well, but so-so menu combined with ok to bad execution means it’s really not a great choice. Service 2⁄5 — uncaring and non-attentive servers. Needed to remind our waitress several times to bring us rolls for the very hungry children at the table because the meal was taking so long. Not recommended.

I usually order for pick up. I LOVE the chicken fried chicken with Macn cheese and corn bread, good stuff. Make sure you have them check your food before they bag it.

Found an INSECT in the fried okra. Pointed it out to the manager, who acted like it was no big deal. Will not return!

Courtney was absolutely fantastic! We had a big group with lots of crazy kids and unorganization. She was so on top of everything and attentive to what everyone needed or wanted and was quick to get it out to us. Her communication with us on the status of our meal was perfect and she went above and beyond with all the kiddos! She made this experience so enjoyable! And everyone’s food turned out perfectly!

I don’t eat gluten so when I asked my waitress for corn tortillas she replied that they don’t have them. Ok that’s fine. Please bring me a lettuce wrapped burger. Her response«well, it won’t look very pretty!». Frankly, I don’t care how it looks. I’d rather not have stomach pains from the bread. My first initial impression was not a good one and actually quite frustrating. Just take the bun off. It really is not that difficult.

Came here for early dinner with wife and daughter so it wasn’t too busy. I had blackened tilapia with side of mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. Tilapia was dry and over seasoned even for blackened. Veggies were meh. Wife had grilled pork chops and they were decent. Daughter had fish and chips. Fish was not too bad but she said the fries tasted«freezer burnt.» Service started our well and slowly went downhill to non-existent. Had to flag down other waitresses for drink refills and waited 15 minutes before flagging another waitress down for our check. Possible 3stars for food and one for service. The other wait staff seemed attentive so it might be better with a different server. Probably skip this location next time — cotton patch in Lufkin much better all the way around.

Every single time we come we are surprised! We always remember that the food is good but we are always surprised that it is even better than we remember. I cannot recommend this place enough. Price is fair, we always have leftovers, and it is always good. Only southern cooking comparable is Lambert’s in Missouri.

I like the food and the staff here. It’s one of my favorite places to go on a Sunday. My favorite is the chicken strips plate with Mashed Potatoes and Cinnamon Apples. Plus they bring warm fresh rolls to the table, which are awesome. I also like the trailblazer a lot! I think their food is very reasonably priced, and is always accompanied by good service! Oh, and good coffee, which is a must in my family!

Came here for a quick lunch and the food was pretty good. The service was quick and we got what we wanted quickly. Nothing too amazing that blows your mind it’s a standard franchise restaurant that you get decent food and good service. The special cornbread that they have right now is amazing though! It has jalapeños in it and it gives it just a little spice but the sweetness from the cornbread is delicious! Overall good spot to come for lunch or dinner if you are looking for a standard place to come to nothing unique but definitely not terrible. I would come back when I’m in the mood for it.

We were having trouble deciding what to get, but the waitress gave us her recommendations(great service). I got the grilled chicken breast with broccoli and the chicken dumpling soup. My partner got the grilled Cajun Duo(tilapia with crawfish) with shrimp, french fries, rice and vegetables. We were really satisfied with our orders. Everything was so flavorful. My grilled chicken was so delicious and fresh and juicy with a great grilled taste that carried over onto the rice pilaf(they call it seasoned rice). We will definitely be back!

Food is absolutely amazing, but the service we received left little to be desired. Staff seemed so demotivated and it showed in their service. From the get go, I felt like we were a bother to our server; she was too busy unjamming a stapler and taking to the other servers to pay attention to us. First she didn’t fully explain when she changed my order that I would be getting LESS food and paying more for it. Then she always walked by the table when I was taking a sip of a drink and asked if I needed anything, but didn’t stick around for me to swallow my drink and answer. My chicken fingers without fries and minimal BBQ sauce were very tasty, and the chicken and dumplings that are equivalent to a side of fries was even better! Definitely will give it another try, but would request a server that actually gave a damn. But then she tried to redeem herself and brought a extra spoon with the dessert, so there’s that too.

Service was good, food average at best. They make a big deal about their chick fried steak I guess because they make high margins on it by buying cube steak of low grade. It was so chewy I wasn’t sure if I should try to blow bubbles with it. Too bad as I had anticipated, given the advertising on their chicken fried steak and chicken, that I would want to return often whenever I had a hankering for chicken fried steak.

I always get the ribeye steak. It is the best steak around for an affordable price. The management and staff are excellent. I will eat here every time I’m in Georgetown.

The Food and service was lacking, to say the least. A young guy came by and said he would refill my water. I told him it was Sprite and he said«Oh, Okay.» Smiled and left. He left it unclear whether or not he would refill my Sprite. Our food came, not delivered by our server. And he clanked the dishes loudly on the table when he set them. He said«alright.» We realized we were not given silverware which we quickly discovered was an issue all over the restaurant. Many young girls walked by asking the hostesses for silverware. We were upset the guy who brought us our food didn’t ask us if we needed anything. It was probably a good 10 minutes before our server came back to our table and we asked for silverware. By that time, our food got cold. I ordered the pot roast. It literally looked like dog food. The meat was grey and tasted overcooked. It was smothered in brown gravy that tasted packaged. The potatoes and carrots that accompanied the pot roast tasted overcooked and not fresh. Our server came, said she would be right back with a Sprite refill. It never came. That’s two times a server noticed my low Sprite quantity and did nothing. She came back with the check, but no sprite refill. I never mentioned the Sprite to anyone because I was promised a refill. But the only thing that was delivered next time we saw the server was the check. By that time, I wanted to leave. Never coming back.

Nice location in Wolf Ranch tucked away in the corner. We ate outside since it wasn’t hot and there was lots of shade. The hostess and our waitress was nice and took care of us pretty good. I had the Shiner Bock Fish and chips and my wife had the Seafood duo and some wine. I have heard good things about their chicken fried steak here but the fish and chips are my favorite. The fish was nice, crispy and flavorful. We also ordered fried green tomatoes for a appetizer and for someone who doesn’t like tomatoes it was really good! The avocado ranch was different but we also asked for regular ranch. I will definitely come back to try the chicken fried steak if I don’t order the fish again. Always have a good experience at CP. G-town and the one in Round Rock.

The food is always great, fresh and tasty! The seafood duo was awesome! The crawfish sauce is perfect, the fish was moist and shrimp very flavorful! The pork chops are so moist, finger licking good! The mashed are great as a side for both items. The dinner rolls are moist and warm! Couldn’t ask for a better lunch date spot

Food here does have a lot of salt. But it is like a lot of us had in our childhood because it disguised cheap cuts of meats. Not that they use cheap cuts of meat but it is a «home cooking type restaurant» so it is salty. I had the chicken and dumplings and it was good. A hard dish to find anymore when you eat out. Also on the menu was meatloaf and beef tips and rice. If you are of a certain age, food here is like your Mother’s unhealthy home cooked meals.
