I feel this restaurant is not getting evaluated fairly. I visited Sweet Tomato few days ago, and for me, this is exactly same as Sweet Tomato. They are serving various, fresh, clean and tasty foods. Actually many seats are torn and fixed, I guess somebody is attacking with harmful intent because walls and ceilings are ok. All salads are fresh and the staff are friendly. I will come back again.

Awful! This place used to be amazing… My, has it changed. $ 20.00 for a meal for two consisting of a terrible tasting Pozole and a salad and a nacho cheese macaroni and cheese and a slice of pizza… Not much for fresh, or choices. Place was empty and maybe being renovated or maybe the space was just reduced because not that many people come through. I felt like I walked into a tourist trap and I am a local. What a waste of money and what a disappointment!

The food there was meh, kind of horrible .The reason why we went there was it was close to where we were. And husband wanted fresh choice. The marinara sauce was pretty bland, no taste. The pizza was pretty soft. The walls were pretty dirty. I gave them two stars because I’m feeling nice .lol.

The place seems a little tired and worn. After we went through the salad buffet and got to the register, there was a sign that read, «In an effort to give better service, we would appreciate if you would pay by cash. Thank you for paying with our preferred method of payment.» I paid with my card as that is all I had on me. I’ll tell you what though… if I had seen that sign sooner, we would have eaten somewhere else. It gave me the eebee-geebees, like they were trying to get away with something. The pizza was bland and didn’t have much flavor, and there was not much of a choice for dessert. Meh…I’ve had SO much better, and for the price it really wasn’t worth it.

The price you pay and the quality of food you get here is amazing. Salad bar, hot soup, perfect place to grab a quick lunch in the area. I’m glad I didn’t end up in chipotle

I’m torn as to how to review this place. The salad bar was fresh. I had their chicken broth based phở and their clam chowder. All were decent. Not the best I’ve ever had but they were fresh tasting. We went here twice in about two weeks. The first time, they didn’t have the bean sprouts by the phở. They did have sliced sourdough bread. And the soft serve machine was out of order. That was a Monday. The weekend passes, the week passes, and it’s Saturday(today!) and we went back. They didn’t have the cold pasta in the salad bar. They did have the bean sprouts by the phở. They had garlic breadsticks instead of sliced sourdough. And the ice cream machine was still broken. I’m guessing it’s been broken and will stay broken for a long while. The pineapple was fresh and quite good. This time, there were signs that their credit processing system wasn’t working and they needed cash. I get up to the cash register and i find out it is working, but it’s slow, and please pay cash. I had to borrow money from my daughter because he was pretty firm about the cash. Because the processing unit was slow. And there was no one behind me. I wasn’t impressed. The place desperately needs help. There’s large rips in the carpeting. The bathroom wasn’t that clean. I will say that the gentleman who cleans the plates is prompt, professional, and pleasant. And he ran outside one of the times to bring my daughter her sunglasses. So in a nutshell, we just don’t think it’s worth the price which is too bad because we were really wanting to support the lone remaining California Fresh restaurants.

We stopped for dinner on our way thru town at 7:00 on a Thursday, to find 3 other patrons dining. We wanted a healthy quick option as it was a school night. The salad bar was ok. The pasta and rice was dried and crusty on the surface. It appeared to have sat unattended all day. There were two small potatoes at the potato bar… The bread was dry, old and stale. The ice cream machine was out if order… The bathroom appeared clean but smelled like a sewer. We have enjoyed this location before and recalled that it was well patronized once upon a time. We won’t be returning.

Our Fresh Choice and nearby cities all closed. It was quite surprised to find one in Gilroy! It’s location is not the best and while we saw King Egg roll. We didn’t see Fresh Choice across the street. Really wanted a healthy meal. So we came here. Everything is the typical Fresh Choice layout and food and price, so nothing new here. I’m giving 4 stars for one of their desserts which was not labeled, but looked interesting. it tasted like banana nut bread with syrup. It was surprisingly really good. You could find a lot of food places in and around the outlets, but eating healthy is not cheap. Originally I gave 3 stars but the surprised dessert added the additional star! If you’re used to Fresh Choice or Sweet Tomatoes then you won’t have a problem here!

This is the filthiest Fresh Choice I have been to. The place, the bowls, the glasses, and the service was horrible. When I started to take my bowl for the soup, I saw that it was covered in rotting food. The glasses we received were still sticky on the inside. And don’t get me started on the service. The man who was filling hot water to be put under the food was careless and almost spilled the scorching water on a customer. Adding on to that, he didn’t even apologize!

I don’t know what has changed since this place was California Fresh. The receipt still has their name on it. We arrived for dinner on a Tuesday night at 5:50PM. We should have been concerned that there were only 8 people in the place eating at that time. Lots of the salad items were dried out from being out too long. Nasty soup containers has two inches of crud crusted around the entire containers. Looks like the soup was there for hours. The biscuits were hard and stale. We only tried blueberry and cornbread. There was only one slice of pizza out and it looked ancient. The baked potatoes were ok. How can you possibly screw those up anyway. We were sitting there having pushed away most of the food into a pile when a young employee asked if she could clear up our table. I told her the food was not good including the stale tortilla chips. She said that she’d tell the manager. Nothing happened with that. We left very disappointed and won’t be back. What a waste of $.

I love Fresh Choice. My boyfriend and I came here the other night and were just so surprised with the lack of patrons. It was a Friday night after all… around 7:30. Usually any restaurant is packed at this time on a Friday night. I remember a few years back, there would be a line out of the door at these type of establishments. What– people are over the salad craze? Is $ 9.99 for unlimited salad, bread, baked potatoes, soups, pasta, fruit, ice cream, a ridiculous price? Maybe people are watching portions more now days and are over an all you can eat buffets? IDK. Anyway… this place was just fine. Overall the place was clean, however with there only being 2 staff members working that night, tables didn’t get cleared off at all while we were sitting there. If you’re ever in Gilroy at the outlets and feeling fresh I would totally recommend this restaurant, hope it sticks around even with the lack of patrons, and I would come back.

Got hungry after lots of shopping so we trekked our way towards this all-you-can-eat salad joint! Ambiance: Not super packed but not super packed either. We came in around 2 pm and there were at least 8 other groups in the restaurant besides our group of 7. Service: A worker actually came by an asked how we were doing while we were sitting and chowing down. This was a pleasant and kind surprise! :) For such buffets, i rarely ever expect to get any kind of attention so this was nice. When they ran out of ice cream bowls, I asked another worker and she immediately went in the back and got me ice cream bowls! :) Food: Salad, soup, and bread for dayssssssss! Yum! The vanilla ice cream texture was a bit icey for my liking and they had a limited section of fruits, but otherwise this place offered lots of options and decent food. Price: ~$ 9 per person for lunch Tip: — vanilla ice cream + nuts + chocolate syrup(and/or pudding) = ice cream drumstick — pizza + clam chowdaaaa Conclusion: Although this place offers tons of great and healthy foods, I think my $ 9 would be better spent elsewhere because I like having my food made for me if I’m paying for it. Also, we all know non-Las Vegas buffets or cheap buffets in general like fresh choice have their soups, pizza, desserts, etc pre-made or following a chain restaurant recipe that tastes like crap. :(
