What an absolute shame. For shame. If this Mimi’s was on the level of a Southern California Mimi’s from the early 2000’s? They would have had lines out the door. Sadly, it just wasn’t up to par. What a damn shame. Truly. :‘(

As I said … Out of Business & it is now. Gone from Richmond & our last meal was horrific. It was just 9 days before the moving truck was in the parking lot getting all the signs & furnishings loaded up. My last memory of this place was the Manager laughing at us because the green beans still were in ice on the plate… Who’s laughing now ??? Predictable incompetence is tolerated at the highest level around here. Tragic.

Very disappointed. The food was pretty good, but the service was awful. I came in with my mom and we waited 20+ minutes when more than half of the dining room tables were empty. When we asked the waitress she told us that it was done so that there wasn’t a rush in the kitchen. That makes sense– but on Sunday at 11– your kitchen should be able to handle a rush! Also, after we got our food, or waitress disappeared. We had to ask another waiter for water, and then another one for the check. After our waitress brought our check ask took our cash– she dropped off someone else’s check and change. When we brought it to the attention of the manager(because the waitress again disappeared) she manager asked us multiple times if we were sure it wasn’t our check? What a debacle. I had the eggs Benedict which was good and my mom had the Orange waffles which she enjoyed– but I thought they were a little too cream-cheesy.

I have seen the poor reviews and they don’t square with my experience. My girlfriend and I have been here for breakfast twice and the food and service are good Good eggs Benedict and omelets. We’re planning to try them for lunch and dinner… Til then thumbs up on breakfast

We went here for breakfast in a Sunday and they got us right in. It is a French inspired restaurant which I didn’t know. I had these small strawberries waffles that were topped with cream cheese and strawberries. Very good and you could make it a breakfast for two more dollars. Their prices were really good.

Good place for Brunch. I got the croisant benedict and my boyfriend got the omelete. The food was fast and fresh with freindly service. The muffins are always fresh. Great place overall

one time we were running around at like 11 at night starving and this place was the only place still open. we had never heard of it before and its exterior looked cute and inviting so we had dinner and it was AMAZING! I got stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes. my friend got a soup that was really good and the bread, omg the bread. haha. then I recently just went back for breakfast and it was also amazing I had pancakes and bacon, and I actually finished my plate. the pancakes were so fluffy and perfect. because we fell in love with mimi’s we went back the next day again. this time I got French toast and turkey sausage, which was equally as good as the pancakes. and again I finished my plate. the service was very friendly all 3 times, they would refill our drinks often and when needed, which was nice. they were very attendant especially considering that they were jam packed that day. The wait time was very short which impressed me. being that it is in the middle of short pump, It is also very nice how this place has a private lot and then extra parking in a garage.

Mimi’s Bayonne-style corned beef hash Benedict was delicious! Their hollandaise sauce is the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I came for breakfast, but I missed it. I was unaware that this wasn’t an all day thing. Which saddened me until I discovered that Mimi’s Café has THE best bread pudding I’ve ever had. The warm buttery whiskey sauce is the best. The whiskey is as prevalent as the butter. No little«hints»… this sauce is deliciously dangerous, and the perfect complement to the thick and moist bread pudding. Next time I’ll ask for a ramekin full of it. I couldn’t get enough! Also note I did eat a real meal there as well — first. Crepes filled with balsamic chicken, spinach, and herbs. Good, but the balsamic was a little overwhelming. I will stick to dessert at Mimi’s.

As previously stated, there was no host. No greeting. Just a sparsely seated dining area with no waiters in site. Atmosphere seemed cozy. But after standing for 15 minutes with NO greeting and several looks from the kitchen area — we decided to leave. That kind of lack of detail in the front of the house speaks to the attention given in the back of the house. Will not return. Too bad. Was looking forward to the famous blueberry muffins.

I have always liked Mimi’s Café, and I had driven by this location on countless trips to Short Pump. I finally decided to make it there for a meal, especially since I brought a «free appetizer» card back from home. This particular Mimi’s has its own designated parking lot, and the restaurant interior is very classy and ornate. The interior gets lots of natural light too, which I love. As for food, I ALWAYS get a blueberry muffin when I eat at Mimi’s, and it did not disappoint! Mimi’s blueberry muffins are just so soft and warm! I also ordered a cup of french onion soup(nice and hot, but a little too salty for me) and the ham and cheese tartine as my entrée. The tartine was not bad, but it wasn’t as flaky as I anticipated, and the filling was not anything out of the ordinary. The side salad was tasty though! Since I also had to eat the trio sampler appetizer, I was super stuffed by the end of my meal. The menu is so extensive too, so I look forward to coming back for more. Prices are also reasonable, and given the portions, the value is good. As for service, our server was polite and checked on us to refill waters, but he wasn’t especially friendly or conversational. In addition, after we initially said that we needed a few more minutes to look at the menu, he ended up forgetting about us and did not come back for probably 15 – 20 minutes. I’m pretty sure this was a one-time thing though.

Again the wife and I for breakfast and I must say this place is average. The coffee was not very good but the service was very good. This place would be good in a pinch but We did not go back for breakfast the next day only because the coffee was no good.

I has the Zuchini Parm as an appetizer which was very light healthy and delicious… and the AMAZING French Quarter Burger. The burger was very well paired with the sourdough parmesan bread and comes with bacon and avocado on it. Yes Bacon lol. I got sweet potato fries instead of regular fries and those were good too. The service was great, however, I’ve been to this place 4 times in the last few months, and although the bread is supposed to come out automatic after 4pm, I always have to ask for it. I hate it when restaurants do that. It’s almost as if they tell the servers that although this is the policy, don’t tae it out to the guests unless they ask for it… I would have been willing to say this was just the case of a forgetful server had it been once, but has happened 4 times! If they don’t like giving out free bread, then change the policy! They are now offering Valet Parking, which is great since the parking lot is ridiculously small.

Our trip to Mimi’s was less than exciting. The food and service were just ‘ok’, the décor felt tacky and the menu left a lot to be desired for me and my husband. They seemed to have quite a few seniors dining with them. The highlight was the bread. Even the muffins they sent home with us were just ‘ok’. IMHO, nothing exciting. I’d visit one of the other GREAT restaurants in the area.

I loved Mimi’s Café. Adorable place and great atmosphere! Not only was the food delicious but the service was excellent!!! Our waitress appeared calm, cool, and collected. Not to mention extremely attentive an helpful when making menu selections. Refills appeared when necessary without having to ask. As for the menu, there is a lot to choose from. The muffins are top notch! Overall excellent experience. Great wait to return to Mimi’s to try what else they have to offer.

Average meal good service for our party of 7. Our group went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We had reservations and our party was seated immediately. Our waitstaff and the manager was really attentive. I ordered the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was great but the fries were just average. I think they were definitely the frozen fries I could have made at home. Those in the party that ordered the breakfast selections were all pleased. They were impressed by the service so we will come back to Mimi’s for our next group event.
