Very tasty French food! And great service! Their salads were to die for! And their desserts too. Will sure go back!

Never seen a coffee shop open at 5pm. It was nice driving out all this way to find out they ate closed. Make sure they are open if you go there

Always an extremely pleasant dining experience here. The dining room is small with an open kitchen in the back. They don’t accept reservations, so it’s good to arrive a little early to put your name in– especially for the cozy booths. They don’t charge corkage fees which is awesome! On Thursday’s they have a local winemaker come in and tout their wines which means I got to do a little wine tasting before I even sat down to dinner. Absolutely loved the bowl of mussels appetizer and my pot roast entrée. My friend had the flounder entrée and was still talking about it 2 days after. I really don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Delicious food, excellent service and a quaint atmosphere.

This is been our go to restaurant for years. After being gone, decided to try the new makeover. What a disaster! Service was understaffed and therefore S L O W! Our favorite Fig salad had wilted arugula and the dressing had no flavor. Calamari continues to be Crisp and good. The steak/fries — steak smallish and not the quality that used to be — way too many french fries! Muscles were nice and plump, but the sauce lacked any character — I didn’t even want to dip it up with the bread. The special was OK but not stunning. The risotto was made into little balls and then fried. Dessert was less than stellar — salted caramel sundae. It had a weird little squares of brownie. Then we had a forever wait for the table to be cleared, to get our bill, and to finally pay. There are too many excellent restaurants in the area for us to bother going back.

Great fixed price dinner! Their wine list(mostly from Rhone) & price is very decent.

Nice quaint little place. Had the parsnip soup which was tasty. Ordered the clam pizza because it intrigues me. It was nice, but kinda greasy and soggy with a little too much bacon — I don’t think it blended very well with the clams. Probably should’ve ordered something else, there other meals looked pretty good.

If you are familiar with Girl and the Fig on the square in Sonoma, then welcome to her sister. This is the ideal little neighborhood joint located on the main drag in Glen Ellen. Great for small groups and families. They have a large communal table, kitchen bar seating with a great view of the action behind the scenes and cozy booths for date nights. Each week there is a 3 course menu offered. Ask about adding wine to it for a few bucks more! Love that deal! They have great flatbread pizzas and feature a different flavor each week. This is a great go to spot if your in the area wine tasting and didn’t grab a reservations nearby. Its casual but has a cute cozy flair about it; mismatched lighting, fun kitchen décor and art adore the walls. And best of all NOCORCKAGEFEE! If your in Sonoma and plan to drink wine, bring a bottle from your own collection to share with your group or bring in a bottle from your days wine tasting finds. Never disappoints on food flavors, always consistent service and a great choice for locals and visitors alike!

First off, this restaurant is pretty small and you almost always have to wait on the weekends. We had a larger group so we had to wait about an hour. We ordered the burger and a chicken pizza, which were okay. I was sad to find out they did not have ranch to dip my fries in, but I get it, that’s the kind of restaurant they are. Restrooms were a bit dated.

Our group went for brunch/an early lunch to the Fig Café on Sunday. The restaurant was cozy, clean, well lit, and well-decorated. Local wine selection was great. Service was quick and friendly. The food was solid, appetizing, and flavorful; not amazing, but appealing. The pricing is on par with other eateries in the area.

No corkage fee? No reservations required? No wait on a Saturday night? Hi, Fig Café. We just met but, I think I love you! Things that were awesome(aside from the above): — Parker Rolls: Fennel and Olive oil. Soft with some crunchiness on the outside then, boom! Yummy fennel taste. I could have eaten a bakers dozen of these suckers! –Top Sirloin Burger: fresh ground sirloin(medium) served on a brioche bun, I added cheddar, on a bed of mixed greens with onions and house made pickles on the side. This is one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. The meat could stand all by itself, it needed no help! The fries! Crunchy but not too crunchy and just enough salt. I tested the elasticity of my jeans by eating all the fries. The ok: –The Coppa Pizza: this is a total pass for me. The highlight was the brussels sprout leaves. I happen to be a heavy handed salter but this pizza was too salty, and greasy for me. I don’t know if the salt came from the sauce, that I really couldn’t taste, or from the quattro fomaggio. Or, maybe it came from the mystery meat that was not on the description on the menu. Meat was good all by itself but created a pizza salt mine! The Coppa is a popular pizza here so maybe it was an off night. But, just thinking about those fennel buns and burger makes me forget about all that! Mmmmmmmmm, I still love you Fig Café it’s just that my love is a little conditional.

My hubby and I had lunch at The Fig Café. Ambiance was on the casual side. They don’t take reservations. But the food was AWESOME. We ordered a Bellini which was well made. Very refreshing and light. The Brunch Pizza(breakfast pizza) had four cheeses, bacon and egg. Writing about it is making my mouth water! The truffle fries with ricotta cheese were good too. For dessert, we had the salted fig caramel sundae – OMG. worth each and every calorie. Service was great too. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

After the amazingness of the Girl and the Fig, I desperately wanted to try the sister restaurant in scenic Glen Ellen. This smaller location is more cozy and on a paper is more approachable, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the flagship restaurant in Sonoma and lot more. I ordered the Fig and Arugula salad(just like at Girl and the Fig), which was equally as tasty and we also had an assortment of pastries with their pastry plate. The service however was noticeable poor. My wife and I were driving and elected not to drink and as soon as we informed the server that we weren’t getting wine we were subsequently marginalized for the rest of the meal. They were much more worried about the boisterous party of 4 with their 2 bottle of wine lunch than the sober couple who were responsibly electing not to drink in order to operate a motor vehicle. It’s one of my pet peeves when a server so blatantly turns off as soon as they realize you aren’t getting drinks. I probably wouldn’t go back to The Fig Café even though I still highly recommend the parent restaurant, The Girl and the Fig, in Sonoma.

I love how eclectic & tasty this restaurant is. Relaxed elegance, simple, balanced menu. Local wine selection was delightful(I loved both whites I tried) Tried the swordfish, chicken garlic pizza, butternut squash agnolotti. Everything on the menu looked like a good pick, no «must tries» No outdoor seating but loved their hanging lights!

My whole group had a very tasty dinner at the Fig Café. For starters you really can’t go wrong with no corkage fee! We loved that, especially since we had some bottles from our wine tastings that day. I started off with their soup of the day which was a corn soup. I really enjoyed it, it was hearty and surprisingly filling. For my entrée I went with the seared tuna and it was a great piece of fish. It was on a bed of seasonable vegetables with a mustard type sauce. I would get it again. Although they don’t take reservations we went in on a Saturday night and were able to get a seat no problem. If you do have a wait you could always head next door and grab a martini to help pass the time!

The husband and I were staying in Glen Ellen for a wedding. The next day, we were excited to brunch it up at the Fig Café due to excellent Unilocal reviews. First off, let me say that the Fig Café is misnamed. They don’t have too much fig on the menu, which was disappointing. They should really call it the Fly Café because there were lots of flies zooming around the dining room. I saw flies crawling on the pastries that they later served to other tables. Anyway, got there at opening and were seated at a really comfy little couch booth. We ordered a couple coffees($ 3 each), truffle fries($ 7), the croques madame($ 13) and the brisket hash($ 15). We got our coffees right away and asked for some honey. If you haven’t tried honey in your coffee yet, do it! It’s really yummy! Anyway, so we get a little container with honey in it and peek in to find something chunky. Turns out it was a fly! Gross! So we tell the waitress and she promptly brings us another container of honey sans fly. They also gave us our coffee for free for that little blunder. They handled the situation quite well. Anyway, service was a little slow, but we finally got our food. We both wanted it to be better than it was. The croque madame was too bready and felt more like a savory french toast. The hash was just okay. Usually the husband loves hash, but he wasn’t impressed. That being said, the eggs were perfectly poached! Also, the truffle fries were really really good! They were the star of brunch. Overall, I was disappointed with the raving Unilocal reviews because our experiences didn’t match up with them. Pricing is standard for brunch, but they food has to be better for me to justify paying those prices. Perhaps it’s better at dinner? Either way, I wouldn’t recommend for brunch.

I’ve demoted the Fig to 3 stars from 4 ½ to 5, and I’ve done this with a heavy heart. It’s not because of their redecoration and introduction of some uncomfortable looking high tables with stools. It’s not because of their recent price increases. It’s not because of service, which remains friendly. It’s simply because I now have to avoid wheat and I was extremely disappointed to be given a choice of one main course only which I could eat. Even the standby of steak was off for me(Heaven knows why). There remained four starters I could eat, with only one being hot. I could understand this in a cheap restaurant, or a new one with limited experience, but it’s not acceptable in an established restaurant which should be a by-word for professionalism.

What a neat little place. I wouldn’t normally visit a place like this, but the bill wasn’t mine and I needed some good dinner. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Gnocchi while the others got the roast and a hamburger. I tried some of each and they were all great. The meats were juicy and very tender. We also tried a «flight» of wines(4). I always enjoy that kind of thing when places have it. They only carry one brand of wine, but I don’t know much about wine so I didn’t mind at all! The gnocchi was the best I have ever had. The goat cheese was formed to perfect and was seared slightly on one side. It was mixed with a garlic, buttery sauce that the gnocchi soaked up perfectly. Each piece was a dream and I tried to eat it one at a time. The carrots were a little tough, but hey, still great! This place was quite a surprise and I loved every bite of it!

Restaurant Week in Sonoma County and The Fig Café was stop number 1. Great way to sample a variety of cuisines at a good set price. Our dinner here was very good as always. Here is what we had: Fig & arugula salad, toasted pecans, pancetta, laura chenel chevre, dried figs, fig & port vinaigrette. Grilled pork chop, broccoli rabe, apple caponata, chili-mint honey drizzle. Chocolate éclair, orange pastry cream. Everything was prepared perfectly, the pork chop was large and very juicy. Always free corkage at The Fig Café and service is top notch. This is a solid choice anytime including Restaurant Week. If you do go, remember no reservations and the dining room fills up quickly. Plan ahead.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a little getaway to Sonoma. Our visits to the wine country are usually to Napa(St. Helena, Yountsville, etc.) but we heard Sonoma was quiet, «chill», and still home to good wine and good food. This place was recommended to us since it was just a five-minute walk down the road from the place we were staying. For less than $ 100, the two of us enjoyed: 1 shared appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts. Not bad for a romantic dinner for two! Appetizer: Steamed Mussels with chorizo, tomato-white wine broth, sofrito, and grilled bread … absolutely delicious!!! We are so used to the standard«white wine/butter/parsley» mussels served in most restaurants, so this was a pleasant surprise! I only wish we had more bread to soak up the sauce. Entrees: I enjoyed the Mt. Lassen trout with brown butter, sunchokes, preserved lemon, and marinated ricotta. First, I was surprised to see no chicken option on the menu.(The other choices are lamb, pot roast, steak, vegetarian pasta, and a burger.) Second, I had no idea what sunchokes were. ;) Turns out they are some kind of root vegetable. This dish was delicious! The trout was about 6 oz. and cooked to perfection. Loved the ricotta cheese and preserved lemon. My husband had the grilled lamb with grilled chard, baby turnips, and smoked cauliflower purée. I had a few bites and thought the lamb was excellent. I usually am not fond of lamb, but this was prepared well, leaving the meat juicy and tender. Very flavorful. Dessert: We had the raspberry jam stuffed doughnut holes with chocolate hazelnut sauce, and the salted fig caramel & brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream, brandied cherries, and whipped cream. First — the doughnut holes. These were much larger than I anticipated, so we became a little TOO full after eating these. A few of the doughnut holes were not stuffed with much raspberry jam, where others had quite a lot. Hazelnut sauce was delicious. BUTTHESUNDAE. oh my goodness. THIS! This was amazing. Chocolate brownie cut up into bite sized pieces, cherries bursting with juice and brandy mmm, and the salted fig caramel sauce was TODIEFOR. We were left scraping away at the bowl. If we weren’t seated in such a nice restaurant, I would’ve probably been licking the bowl, getting ice cream all over my face. Definitely glad we made the decision to eat here! It was much quieter than the busy and bustling Glen Ellen Star, so we were able to relax, talk, and enjoy good food in each other’s company.
