The staff was amazing! I went in with a good friend who happens to have Autism. The staff was patient and allowed my friend to order independantly while maintaining focus on him and asking him to clarify not me. This usually does not happen anywhere. They even went as far as to turn off the music because it was making it difficult to relax while dining. Oh forgot to mention off the charts grass fed organic burger and fries! Amazing experience. ASD friendly! Word on the street is this place closed. Such a bummer!

This place is a gem! Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff, comfortable atmosphere, and plenty of variety. Love that they have so many vegan options, the walnut burger was absolutely scrumptious.

We were looking for a family-friendly place to have lunch before heading to the Botanical Gardens, and Everest Burger was all that we expected and more. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly. My son has life-threatening food allergies to dairy and egg, and it was not a problem for them to accommodate him. The rest of us enjoyed dishes from burgers & fries to brunch dishes. All of the ingredients were super fresh, and we really appreciated that the ingredients were organic. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.

If you’re looking for gluten free, vegetarian/vegan and allergy friendly food in this area, you’ve found it. I don’t know where else in the immediate area you would find as many options with dietary restrictions. So that’s awesome.(Though I find it odd that all of their burgers come with cheese by default, because when you then have to order«without cheese» you feel like you’re missing something) Unfortunately, the food is only OK. Not bad, but not great. I think they’re trying to do too much. Service was great and I certainly understand why this place stays in business. That said, I’m not sure it would be my first choice for dinner in Hubbard Woods/Glencoe.

This place is absolutely delicious! I always get the walnut burger(I often crave it between Everest Burger visits), but I like to try different toppings. My favorite combination is the«Everest Burger» with kalamata olives, blue cheese, and avocado. Mmm! I also love their cheesy fries — hand cut fries topped with melted gruyère! Their mint orange lemonade is also really light and refreshing. My boyfriend has tried a lot of their meat burgers and has enjoyed every one!

I’m in love with a walnut burger. And their unique burger combinations. This is my suburban guilty pleasure, and whether I am eating one of their burgers with pineapple, fried egg and beets, or building my own… I am sad when I finish. I usually take it to go, but if you sit there, service is decent. It’s a gem in the suburbs. Burgers are $ 10, but worth it in my opinion.

I had such high hopes… get it, EVEREST? high hopes? oh never mind… Which is the same way I feel about this place… never mind. It was not at all busy when we got there for lunch on a Thursday, just one other table with people. So we figured we could order our soup and fries first and then the burgers… Our first mistake. While the Tortilla Soup was very tasty, that is where it ends. The french fries were, eh, not so hot. The chips were better than the fries, but that isn’t saying much. We ordered our burgers: I’ll only go into my order… For a starting point of $ 6.95 I built my own burger. Angus Grass-fed Beef(sounds good, right?), I ordered with it grilled onions and a $ 1.00 free-range fried egg. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium, it was well done and quite small, like a McD’s quarter pounder, but maybe not as thick. The egg, which I asked for medium hard, was runny. Not a tasty burger, dry, over cooked, blah. When the bill came, remember this is a burger joint, it was over $ 75 for four of us. Their pricing is really weird too. A regular Coke cost .50 cents more than a Diet Coke. Ice Tea is $ 3! Plus they over charged for one of the burger add-ons. Sorry but I will not make the trek to Everest Burger again…

Three kinds of vegan burgers(walnut, black bean, and portobello), vegan(and nonveg) buns, the option of vegan cheese, and two kinds of fries cooked in rice bran oil make this a winner. The walnut burger was of the loose mashed consistency rather than trying to be beeflike, but tasted great. Staff is super attentive and friendly. Décor is nice and mountainy. Definitely worth a trip, or perhaps three. Note that some maps have the location wrong. Everest Buger is at the shopping plaza at the corner of Green Bay and Scott.

I’m glad I didn’t pay any attention to the low ratings some people gave this place. I don’t know what they’re talking about!!! The burger was delicious and good sized. The fries were awesome! And the people were too! These people know what they’re doing! Organic and top quality. You cannot compare lesser quality food to Organic and expect to pay the same price. And quite frankly, the burger was $ 9.95 which is less than many«fine dining» restaurants who do not serve grass-fed organic beef on a organic made from scratch bun! Seriously — if you like Mc Garbage, eat elsewhere. If you want serious quality — eat at Everest Burger. Also, the place is comfortable and they play nice music! I agree with another post: WEDONEEDBUSINESSESLIKETHISTOSUCCEED!!! Please try this family owned, organic, lovely restaurant!!!

I’m here now. I just finished having a Aloha burger with some Cajun fries, all organic and gluten free. I have never had such a well prepared burger. The service is out of this world. Small but very friendly as hell, makes you feel at home.

There’s a lot of good reasons to love Everest Burger. The music they play, the courteous and attentive service… the fact that everything tastes delicious, the fact that you get great value for the food, and the fact that everything is local, organic, and wholesome, especially for burgers and fries. But the very best reason to love Everest Burger is this: WENEEDBUSINESSESLIKETHEMTOSUCCEED. Why? Because they support local organic farms and products. Because unlike almost every other eatery on the planet Earth, they won’t feed you stuff you would never eat if you knew what it was. Because they are fighting everything that’s wrong with mass-produced, «pink-slime», ammonia treated meat and GMO wheat by offering an alternative that actually comes out tasting better than the standard. I pray for the good of us all that this business survives and thrives — and I don’t pray. Tell Big Food that you don’t want their genetically modified, hormone injected, mass produced crapfest. Tell Big Food you appreciate the taste of a good burger the way NATUREINTENDEDFORITTOTASTE. Tell them you don’t want fries scorched in animal fat — tell them you want fries that actually still taste like potatoes, cooked in rice oil, even better tasting than«potatoes» fried in partially hydrogenated bla bla bla. Tell them that — by going out of your way to have a deliciously prepared, economically sound burger and fries served with the joy of a business that actually does give a rats ass about you and your health.

Just had a(gluten free bun) portabella burger with sweet potato fries here. Just by definition, this place is interesting. While they’re very focused(burgers) they cover a very broad category of burgers themselves. In addition, it’s a bakery at the same time. the menu’s easy on the wallet, and I don’t know what Andrew has against this place, but I like it. Honestly, I will be coming back. It was clean, the waitress may have been new and still learning(so service kinda sucked a little), but how much service do you really expect when ordering a burger? Overall it seems quite worthy of giving this place another chance and another taste. The bakery selection is a little small but nice, and interesting. Also, for people looking for this place? the map location is wrong. It’s south of tower road.

The woman who runs this place is sweet and well meaning, and I love the emphasis on fresh, natural, local, but the awfulness of the product here is like a white elephant hanging over the entire village of Glencoe. The food is awful, and it’s a matter of time before it closes. I’m sorry. Not hating. Not trying to be negative. I’m just telling it like it is. BECAUSETHATISWHATYOUHAVECOMETOEXPECTFROMME. Sorry, but I’m going to give this place an AVOID rating. If you want a good burger come see me on a personal level. Feel me?

Well, I have to admit that this is our«Thursday is crazy after work & school so let’s eat out/take out» place. My teenage kids, husband and I love Everest burger! The beef is flavorful and juicy. I am not a turkey fan, but with so many choices of burgers, you can’t go wrong there. My only complaint is the veggie burger, which tastes okay, but falls apart. They have now included fries in their meals, which is a good move. These super fresh potatoes are cooked in rice oil and are delicious! I wouldn’t mess with any of the cheese toppings — why ruin perfection?

I wish I could give this place 5 stars… but I cannot. As a vegan, finding restaurants is not easy. So I was excited when this place opened. But, the food is only«ok» and the fries are really greasy or over-fried. The burgers, the 4 – 5 times I have been there, have been almost raw. I might say, well it is easy and convenient for me and would go there more often, except they are REALLYOVERPRICED for what you get. To spend $ 18 for a very small burger(non-meat), less than average fries and a drink is ridiculous. Sorry can’t give it a better review…

I had a Base Camp burger when my wife and I stopped there for a late dinner. I got mad when we were done eating and drove further down GB Road and seen all the other food places in Winnetka. As far as burgers go, it was okay. Nothing to write home about. Actually, if I were to write home about a burger, I would just write to my wife and ask her throw a Bubba burger on the grill. I would have enjoyed it more. C’est la vie. We do a lot of running around the Chicago area and try several places. I’m chalking this one up to, tried it — won’t be back. I will give kudos to their Parmesan fries. Those were really good. =)

I really enjoyed there large burger(about 10) and fry selection(Parmesan, Cajun, cheesy) Although the Everest burger is good, I recommend the Texas BBQ burger and Australian burger if you are looking to switch your burger up. I would def. recommend this place, however I would stay away from the chicken burgers-eh, tasted like a fake, pressed school lunch. It’s a burger place, order some red meat. All organic and local too.

Hubbard woods has been burger-deprived for too long! So glad to finally have a ‘go-to’ spot just down the street. 5 bucks for a juicy burger is unheard of on the north shore — two thumbs up!
