I would give this place 3 ½ stars. It’s not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but it also exceeded my expectations. The place is a hole in the wall in a strip mall, and by looking at the interior, I wasn’t expecting much. We sat at the sushi bar and ordered some sushi, and it was actually not bad. The hirame, hamachi, and uni were all fresh and actually quite good. Spicy tuna roll was standard. The sushi rolls were decent and pretty big. There are a lot of options. Another time we came here, I tried the udon and that was meh. Service is friendly.

Went in for lunch one time, slightly after they opened. I was the only person dining and was greeted at the counter. This is a typical Korean owned lunch sushi spot; nothing special. I ordered my food at the counter and seated myself. The same lady at the counter brought me my food. I finished up and headed towards the door, before I was ambushed by the lady. «Tip is not included», she said angrily. I explained to her that I wasn’t served and that I ordered at the counter. I gave her a dollar on a $ 7 meal to shut her up. Places like this need to make up their mind, are you a lunch spot, or are you a dining restaurant? In my opinion, when you order food at the counter and one does anything else besides bring you your food, you’re a lunch spot. You don’t see workers at Carl’s Junior or Wahoos chase you down for tip. Please make up your mind!

Decent quality but service f******* sucks. Only 1 waitress and 1 runner who takes the food out. I’m not sure why the runner doesn’t become a waitress also but thestructure here doesn’t make any sense. It’s been 15 min since we’ve ordered and it’s taking forever to bring 2 handrolls and baked roll. It’s not crazy busy and it’s still taking longer than expected.

Don’t usually write reviews but my experience at midori made me start. PROS: the servers were nice… That’s about it lol CONS: the venue is tiny and the atmosphere wasn’t like most sushi restaurants. the service was extremely slow. Felt like it took almost ten minutes for each roll to come out. They only had one sushi chef working at the time of our visit. The price they charge does not match the quality of the food they serve. The food was average to say the most. The calamari they served was like 80 percent oil and tasted like it was dipped in pancake batter. The bsc roll, which took forever to come out, wasn’t even baked. The scallops on top were about room temperature and the spicy tuna inside the roll was straight out of the freezer. After dealing with the slow service and taking a bite out of that I pretty much lost my appetite. To sum it up I probably won’t be coming to this spot again. If it wasn’t for out server being so polite I woulda walked out of the place.

I am sorry, but this place is a 3 stars. Why? Pros * sushi was fresh and tasty * not too much sauce * clean and relaxed atmosphere * friendly waitress * pretty good selection for AYCE Cons * small, very small place. * the chef is only one. So of course he is slow. And he has also to GO orders. The restaurant was not full, but it took about 45 min for one order. * rolls falls apart * no photos on the menu. I don’t care but if this was my first time in a sushi restaurant? Bummer. Could be a 4 stars. Hire a help for these guys! Cmon! 28 $ AYCE(dinner)

Maybe because it just opened recently and the understaffed environment, the chef had a hard time delivering my buddy’s unagi eel sushi and several other sushis we ordered. He ordered it long ago(about 1hr30min before closing time) but the chef said the kitchen closed so the eel sushi my friend was looking forward to didn’t end up on our table. It didn’t look like it was that crowded either on a Friday evening. Even the salmon skin salad wasn’t hardly what it was expected. Usually it’s a crispy thin skin instead a skin that was a bit undercooked with bits of meat on it. These were not thin, bite sizes, they were literally covered up the bowl with few greens on the bottom. I would definitely go back to the Culver City one.

I wanted to give this place another shot. Everyone deserves second chances right? WRONG! I ordered delivery sushi and the tuna tasted like some sort of funk. I seriously took two bites and spit it out. I also asked for masago and green onions added to my roll. Nope, didn’t happen. I don’t understand :(The Midori off of Ventura is SO good. Maybe it was an off day? Sigh. I give up!

This is the 3rd Midori location I’ve been to and it was just as excellent as the other 2. Small as fuck. But wasn’t busy for shit, which was surprising. The waiter didn’t try to make us feel like noobs and go over the rules. He just kept coming back with endless plates of good sushi. And he wasn’t even trying to enforce the rules either as we ordered a gang of plates at once. I’ve been to one where I had to ball up the rice and put it in the soy sauce container. Not the bees knees. I’m not gonna say it was the best sushi I’ve ever had, but for an all you can eat joint, this place is fucking legit.

I’ve had the worst salmon skin handroll at this midori. It also took over an hour to prepare. The chef kept on saying it’s coming. Oh yeah this was also the first thing I ordered. Not all items arrived as requested and the service was slow for a restaurant that was 50% capacity. This midori gives midori a bad name. The sushi chefs don’t know how to make proper sushi. The rice is also loosely packed so it falls all over the place.

Do not, I repeat, do not go to this location. I have been here 3 times since it’s close to my parents place to give it one more try. I finally learned my lesson. The place was not that busy. We ordered a salmon skin hand roll during the first round and it took them more than one hour to make it. When they did finally give it to us, it looked raw. Usually, the salmon skin in the salmon skin hand rolls are crispy. We ordered food that was never given to us even if we re-ordered them and reminded them. Also, they gave us things that we already received. The wait staff was good, they put in the order, they were just at the mercy of the people preparing the food.

Cozy place with lots of good food. The all you can eat sushi is a great deal considering the quality was much better than any of the other all you can eat places. The only reason I didn’t rate them with 5 stars is because they were understaffed so our dishes took some time to come out. The staff that were there are very friendly and helpful. The lunch specials we got the kids were HUGE! We will definitely be coming back again.

My friends and I normally come here to grab sushi. However, the other day we came here to try out the all you can eat. The price is kinda high for all you can eat(compared to all the other places I’ve been to) but I don’t know of any other all you can eat sushi places in the Glendale area so… The place is really small so there aren’t a lot of tables. There always seems to be only one server, so the service is kind of slow and lacking. That is one of the down sides for me. The food quality is ok. It’s nothing superb but it’s not bad either. Whenever I go my sushi cravings are fulfilled so I can’t complain. I guess if you aren’t much of a eater, don’t get the AYCE. We always ask for extra ginger and wasabi and they never give us crap about asking for so much! Extra virtual points for that whoo hoo! There’s plenty of parking and they deliver as well, which is what my friends and I do sometimes whenever we are lazy and want sushi. I forget but I think there’s a delivery charge and a minimum… So if you live alone and want some sushi… Just go pick it up!

First things first, if you’re doing sushi for the rolls — you’re doing it wrong; but if you’re going AYCE, Midori does it right. My first experience was at the luxurious Studio City spot; I didn’t think of it that way at the time, but compared to the incredibly minimal interior of the Glendale location my opinion has definitely shifted. Now, as I was saying earlier — I never do the sushi rolls, so don’t come to my reviews for that; as far as the fresh sushi is concerned, this place is just as good as the Studio City location, but they do one thing differently. Instead of an order being one piece, an order is two pieces — meaning that you can get TWO pieces of Uni — YES. Like the other location, you are only allotted one slice of the premium cuts and some things are add-ons.

This place is an huge disappointment… Since the owner changed, it has been even worse. The place was completely empty when I walked in. There was on customer inside and the rest were employees. They have a HUGE all you can eat sushi sign outside, but apparently it’s between the hours of 12 to 2. Why not have the hours posted next to the sign so people don’t waste their time coming in after 2 to buy ayce sushi… The place looked and looks desperate for customers. I work close by and liked my previous experience in regards to the friendly service. I don’t think that exist now. It was 2:30 and they have no signs outside stating the hours for ayce sushi. They weren’t thinking about that when they put up a HUGE banner right in front, with the words All You Can Sushi Sushi in front ? Anyway, this is how you lose a potential weekly customer. I will also make sure that none of my friends visit this pretentious place

Let’s start with with good. The service was attentive and very good. I wanted to leave a bigger tip for them but not sure if they were going to receive it. The stars are for them. Okay, now with the bad. Sitting is uncomfortable and awkward with very little tables. Décor is cheesy and They were playing Spanish music as we were sitting there. You can’t order ½ rolls since it was busy* with three tables there and we were one of it* since we had to full rolls, we were pretty much done in the 1st round. Plus they add more rice to the rolls as you can see in one of my photos. The Cuts and Temps for all were wrong. I’m no sushi expert * I go to tons of sushi places from hereto vegas* but I noticed everything was off. They were missing some items that I usually get in the other location. For 27 $ a person, I felt rip off and definitely not worth a trip. Overall compared to studio city, this place is no where close to the standards. Sad because I was hoping for a closer location.

I stopped by here for lunch as it was on the way to my next destination. I really wish I didn’t, because it not only didn’t save me time but I also left the place irritated. I used to order from here when it was Midori Go and they offered Korean food too. Back then it was a great To Go place, although the sushi wasn’t all that good either way. But at least the staff at Midori Go was better organized and service was always quick. Today when I walked into the restaurant, the waitress looked at me and pointed to a table. I assumed that was to be my table so I sat down; 10 minutes later I finally got a menu and only because I was staring down the waitress. She had obviously forgotten about me because when we finally made eye contact she had a startled look on her face, as if she thought to herself, «where did she come from.» It took another 20 minutes to even get a glimpse of my food. During that time I witnessed another table ask which roll was which and the waitress had no idea. She turned around and yelled across the room, albeit a small room, but never the less yelled. The sushi chef yelled back the three names for the rolls, but didn’t say which was which. I’m sure the couple remembered what they ordered, they just wanted to match the roll to their name, which neither the waitress nor the sushi chef did anything to help that matter. Anyway, as I was eating my nigiri, in walks two guys that seem like they go there often, in my opinion they were their VIPs. Because if I thought the service was slow before it got even slower when these two guys started ordering. They stopped everything to make that tables’ food first. Sorry lady that ordered Take Out, Sorry the other two tables in the restaurant that ordered their food first, these two guy’s order comes first. You could say they were understaffed, but I kept seeing more and more people come out of the kitchen, not doing much, maybe wiping down the occasional table that was just wiped off by another person from the kitchen. They could have easily helped pick up the slack but they didn’t. Everything was done by the one waitress, who was very inexperienced. Service was friendly but inefficient. As for the food, I usually only order nigiri and the occasional hand roll, so I can’t say anything for the cut rolls. Although, when I looked through their all you can eat menu it was basically California roll with a variation of something else on top. Every piece of fish I got was falling apart and hanging off of my rice. It almost looked like they put chunks of fish on top of my rice instead of one slice of fish. The seaweed was hard and chewy. I’ve gone to other Midoris in Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys so I knew what I was walking into, but this Midori was by far the worst that I’ve gone to. I wasn’t expecting top of the line seaweed, but their seaweed was noticeably worse than other places. In my salmon skin hand roll they stuffed a bunch of dried bonito flakes in the middle to make up for the lack of Salmon Skin. It felt like eating saw dust. The mackerel was overly vinegary. Mackerel is supposed to be marinated in vinegar but it was over marinated already, then they drowned it with more ponzu sauce. It was hard to bare. They kept telling me my food was coming and thanks for waiting, I really wanted to tell them that I was sick of waiting and I just wanted to go. But I waited till everything came out. Their VIPs even had to leave and said they were in a hurry and couldn’t wait for their last order. If you’re VIPs even think you’re slow, how can expect the non-VIPs to wait for your slow food and service? I won’t be going back, it’s not worth the time, the money, and the frustration. There are plenty of other places better than here.

Have been a fan of Midori in Studio City for a bit and once I heard this place opened and were the same owners I had to try them. Well this Midori is a bit smaller then their restaurants in Studio City. But my friends and I arrived exactly at 5pm to get a table but no need for that since the place never picked up at all. While eating there for about two hours I never saw more then three tables being used. So as we arrive we are shown their regular menu and a All You Can Eat menu that is $ 27.95 but everyone in the table needs to order the same. You know the rules! I have been to plenty of AYCE sushi places and this one is only 1 hour, which is fine but I wonder if you are a good sushi eater and they will bring it out in time if the place was actually full and you get to order at least your second round. Anyhow, there are two sushi chefs and I believe they do okay but are not outstanding. I say this because some of the rolls would fall apart. A good chef makes most rolls tight. Rolls were great and so was the sushi, the cuts were generous but like most AYCE places you will not get top quality fish. I for one think its decent, some of you may disagree but it does it for me. If I want to burn my paycheck I would spend more but for under $ 28 you can have most of the damn menu. I will return to sample more of their rolls as well as other choices in appetizers and sushi. Tried the Bruce Lee Roll, Baja Roll, Jalapeño Roll, Philelphia Roll and Clipper Roll, they were good. As for sushi had plenty of tuna, salmon and yellowtail. I will admit that the young lady which took our order hesitated to bring tuna on our first round but on our second round the tuna came and it was good. One thing I did notice that the manager is somewhat helpful but it felt that he was bored and just eyeing what people ordered. Try this place out if you actually enjoy all you can eat or just need you sushi fix off the 134 freeway in Glendale. They have plenty of lot parking, there is even underground parking as well.

So they recently started offering ALLYOUCANEATSUSHI at this location too… Finally, a good AYCE sushi joint located in the heart of Glendale! I used to go to Sake 2 Me all the way in Tustin just to eat sushi, but now there’s this place! It’s only $ 27.95 for AYCE and a LOT of stuff is included. There is an insane variety of rolls and sushi. I tried a few rolls(cab’t remember the names), but they were really bomb. I’m a bigtime albacore and salmon sashimi fan… All I can say is that their salmon and albacore were amazing… Seriously melted in my mouth, especially the albacore. My cousin, who was eating sushi for the 1st time in his life, fell in love with the salmon sashimi. The owner(og owner’s son I’m assuming), took really good care of us. He was going out of his way to ensure that his restaurant is legit… This was very wise of him because he just earned a new loyal customer. Me and my friends FSUAYCE sushi at least once a week!

Pass. Come here if you really have nothing left. It’s a little overpriced and honestly has nothing to write home about. There are other terrible sushi places in Glendale much more worth your time and money. Not sure about the quality-price ratio of the all you can eat sushi, but I’m willing to drive out for that fiasco anyway. I can already smell the disappointment from mentally giving it a chance. Sorry.
